I'm fairly trusting that I was recommmended the most effective, yet cost effective solution. I guess we'll see if my application gets delivered on Saturday like the delivery confirmation slip I paid for says. I appreciated that this post office is open until 5:30 - gone are the days where the mini post office in Moraga, which is down the street from the office, was just a five minute walk away.

They are very lazy here and refuse to properly scan packages with prepaid labels - unless you stand in line and demand a receipt, whereby they must run their little wand over it to show an acceptance scan, showing receipt by USPS, date, and time. If you hand it to them and just leave, or if you place it on the counter, chances are it will disappear. I went in there a few days ago at a few minutes to 5pm, there was another patron being helped at the counter, and as I am a considerate person and did not want to delay the young man at the counter, I didn't ask him for a receipt, trusted him, and simply handed it to him. My package was then thrown out, stolen, or drifted into the Twilight Zone. None of the clerks there are a bit helpful. They shrug their shoulders and refuse to accept any accountability. Never going into this post office again. (I know I said as much in JANUARY, but this truly was the final straw). ADVICE: to anyone who uses prepaid labels, you MUST get a receipt at the counter no matter the time, no matter how long the line is, no USPS clerks can be trusted at any of the post offices, and none accept accountability for missing packages. ANOTHER THING: don't accuse me of agesism, but I can't understand why there is a woman who works here who has to be at least in her 80s, is clearly in pain and can hardly move with a bad back, still working here, full time. When will she enjoy her pension? Don't they get a good enough pension upon retirement? I can't imagie she "needs" to keep working here, since they get a good pension when they retire. Due to her age and delicate health she moves very slowly and it slows down the line. Being kind is one thing, but please know when it is time to retire!

No certified mail slips for a week leading up to probably one of the busiest days for the post office!? Went to another post office and I'm keeping the location secret because there was no line, fast employees, and plenty of certified mail slips!

I had a suspicion something was blocking the key from turning as we have never changed the locks. After calling many times with no answer, and filing two reports online and in person, I went to this post office location. The manager of this location in Walnut Creek had someone managing my route extract all of my mail for me and hand deliver it to me at an agreed upon meeting time. She was such a nice person she had completed her route in my area and drove back to help me, which I needed as it's tax time and my mailbox had been blocked for 2 weeks. It turned out to be a massive Restoration Hardware marketing magazine I never ordered or wanted that was taking up so much space it blocked my key from turning the lock to open it all the way. A big thanks to the manager and route driver for finally getting this solved for me! I'm not surprised the phone tree and main online report didn't work. USPS seems short staffed. But the people in our local community came through. Thanks a bunch. :)

As noted by other reviewers, this postal service branch is going downhill to abysmally low levels…read moreof service at a plummeting pace! Ever since its most exceptional employee, John, retired, customer service has lapsed to an unacceptable degree. Never mind the broken and disabled customer service counter partition, left neglectfully in its downward and closed position, has gone unrepaired for literally MONTHS now. Yellow pickup notices are being negligently not put into boxes even when parcels have been known to be already delivered. More outrageous still: We recently received a most obnoxious email from the USPS, falsely accusing us of leaving our box with a supposed overflow of mail, threatening to close the box outright in 30 days were not one of four supposed options for correction not chosen. Two of those options, naturally, included either purchase of a larger, exorbitantly priced box, or some inexplicable Caller Service for mail pickup which was never even linked or described. We promptly visited the branch to determine the truth: Some clerk, or clerks, had mistakenly MIXED UP our scant stack of mail with that of another customer, whose box number was in close proximity and just six digits removed from our own box number; hence the obvious confusion. Worse, however, that other customer's mail was a real overflow and literally reams of neglected mail belonging to them had been collected separately and placed in a big plastic bin for pickup. Our scant mail was mistakenly MIXED IN with that customer's neglected mail overflow, resulting in the false accusation and unjustified threat of box closure. The comedy of errors continued with a box lockout and an outright refusal to give the patron his mail, for absolutely no valid reason, as the box account is currently active and paid! Their pretext: neglecting to put the patron's updated box application in their system for a box maintained since 2006! This kind of clear staff incompetence is unacceptable and should be promptly addressed and corrected for the benefit of all customers concerned.

The woman behind the counter scanned my qr code and provided a receipt though she indicated the system was down. She didn't seem to suggest it would be problematic but on finding that my return is not showing up at amazon I went back to UPS again today to see what I can learn. I was told, yes there had been a system issue but that there is no way for them to help track my package. She suggested I should just "call amazon". No "im sorry", no concern at all. Had I known this was a possible issue I wouldn't have left my package for which I"m now potentially sacrificing the $ associated with the return. I also tried to drop off a bag of Nespresso pods for recycling and was told they wouldn't take wihtout a label (there are no labels for these). I've been dropping them there for a few years with no issue - I asked the manager and she said they just toss them. Unbelievable. I have always checked in with someone, i.e., I don't just place the bag on the counter and in all cases in the past the person working there has told me where to place them - This is astounding to me.
