This is a small post office, and it has a small parking lot, but I find the line inside to generally move pretty quickly. Now, you should always factor the time of day that you visit a P.O. in to the wait that you endure. If you go between 12 and 2, please do not complain about the length of your wait. You deserve this because that is lunch hour, when people often run errands. I chanced it the other day (5/23/12) and went at 1:30p.m. *fingers crossed*!! What luck! I had walked over from my work building so parking wasn't an issue and the line inside wasn't very long. It also moved very quickly. I ordered some $0.65 cent stamps and the woman asked if I wanted plain ones or ones with wedding decorations. I ended up with some cute ones with a picture of a wedding cake! Just what I wanted. Me and my husband came in for our passports and were pleasantly surprised as to how fast it took. We had tried getting them done at the Concord USPS and had given up and left after waiting in line for over an hour with about 25 other families. The lady at the counter in Concord was horrendously slow and not very helpful. Then we decided to check out the Walnut Creek location hoping that there might be less of a line and we are so glad we did. The man who helped us with our passports in Walnut Creek was incredibly fast and efficient, we were out the door in 10 minutes! He was also very helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend going to the Walnut Creek post office if you need a passport without the crowds and hassle! read more

For today's visit - Yay! In contrast to my visit yday at San Ramon, I had a great experience at WC. Not only did they have my stamps and then some (cute animal shelter stamps) but guess what??? after going to the Oakland post offices near where I live and getting totallt rejected, I decided to drive out to WC to get my passport app in. GOOD DECISION! I Was in & out of there in less time than I waiting in line at the Piedmont Ave Oakland PO just to get denied cause they had no time for me. This review is specifically for Henry, the laziest, least customer-oriented sack of shit in the world. I am unfortunate enough to have this post office as my local mail center, and they recently falsely claimed to have delivered a package to me despite an overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary. Almost everyone I spoke to was incredibly nice, but everyone was clear that I needed to speak to someone named Henry to resolve my issue. I called multiple times a day over the course of several weeks, speaking to multiple people and leaving many, many messages for Henry, but he could never be bothered to call me back or make himself available. Several of the people I spoke to admitted that Henry has no customer service skills and simply does not care about those he serves. If you are reading this, I hope that you never have to deal with Henry, because you will never have your issue resolved. read more

I had 3 applications and was missing a few files needed to complete the application. He setup my applications (stapled Photos, old passports, etc) and I went home to get the necessary files. I was here today for the Passport Fair. Came around 4:30 am and was surprised that there was no line! We just left our folding chairs outside the post office door and stayed in our car. Around 8:30 a.m., they let us inside the post office and the process started at 9:00 a.m. I was assisted by a lady named Wilette who clearly doesn't know (and doesn't like) what she's doing. I have a special application. My original application was submitted without my signature. She was being rude and was giving me wrong information. I told her that I was already charged for $165 and she was telling me that it's only supposed to be $140 (which is wrong because that is the price for the renewal, and I'm definitely not there for a renewal). She also wanted to charge me with the execution fee when the letter from the US State clearly states "Please do not charge execution fee." I already knew that this lady was not in the mood to assist me, so I had to talk to another associate to make sure that they process my application correctly. I was out of the post office by 9:20 a.m. Overall, it was a good experience. Every associate was nice -- except for the lady who assisted me with my application. read more

carrier refused to deliver package because it was "too heavy." Contacted the post office 3 times for redelivery. Finally, I went and retrieved the package myself. I am 60 and had no problem lifting the package. I think these people are simply lazy, protected with jobs for life regardless of performance and such at the taxpayer teet. read more

We were there on a Sunday for Sunday-specific services (US Passport). The staff communicated the instructions and requirements quite well. Camera was made available on the premise in case needed. Photocopying and other documentation items were made available. The customer and billing lines were organized well. Stamps and cards were displayed and sold well. When you're expecting packages and you're told they attempted to deliver when they never did! I have cameras believe me I know you didn't try to deliver my package. Overly frustrating then you talk to the post office on the phone and they say they're open 9-3 and at 1230 you show up and they are closed but have someone inside. So now I've missed my package and told they won't redeliver until Tuesday give you the option to pick up and then you go out of your way to get your package on Christmas Eve might I add to show up and the doors are locked . This review is for the passport office in which I had to go to today. We arrived at 2:01 and were done by 2:27 thanks to the efficiency and no nonsense service of PAT. He was amazing and had all the answers for everyone. I was pretty prepared so I am sure he appreciated that. We had five people in line ahead of us and things went smoothly even though some people weren't listening to him and he had to patiently repeat his answer. Here's a tip: don't wait until 6 weeks or less before your trip to renew or get a new passport. Get it well in advance and save yourself the grief. Either way, can't say enough great things about PAT. Give him a raise! read more

Idiots!! Have my Fiancé in tears from their incompetence!! We're mailing 200 wedding invitations, so we brought in a sample to determine postage needs. The guy at the counter measured, weighed, and inspected the sample and said we'd need a $.70 stamp to send them. He also mentioned they would hand cancel each envelope so as not to mar the wax seal on the back. We get there today to mail them and the same guy now says we need a $1.80 stamp on each one, and they don't hand cancel!! The woman next to him whipped out a card with various holes in it and did her best OJ impression trying to show it didn't fit in the cheaper hole!! (At most 1mm off.). Unbelievable, the same guy!! I tried to change my address online as requested and the USPS webpage said that if I had to move within the next seven day then I had to go to the post office and do it. Over the past year maybe more, mail has ended up missing. We filed police reports, got a locking mail box ect. Still, credit cards were not received, household bills.. We sent out a money order that never reached the person it was being sent to. That money order was handed directly to our mail man too. 4-5 checks we have not received also. I rarely leave negative reviews, but felt compelled to today. If for no other reason than the employee mentioned here reads this and takes some notice of the energy he's putting out into the world. Patric who handles the Passport Applications is one of the most negative people I have ever come across. Yes he had a long line to deal with, but everyone in it was waiting patiently. We had all of the applications completed and all the required supporting documents in order to apply for first passports for our two young children, yet every line out of his mouth was snapped rudely at us. Including, at one point, snapping at my husband "DON'T PUT THAT AWAY!" when he started to put our pen back in his pocket (and there's another pen out on the counter), and including yelling at our three year old daughter "DON'T PLAY WITH MY DOOR!!!" when she just touched the doorknob leading out of the room!! Really?! Does it come out of your salary to replace the doorknob if it breaks Patric? Has a tiny three year old ever broken the metal door knob before? Really, just totally unnecessary level of anger, grumpiness, and hostility. Patric, if you ever read this, I hope you can get to a better place with your job. Or leave it and do something else. So the guy who help you with passport services are NOT HAPPY to be there very very ROOD...... Very disappointed. A very simple package that could have been left at my door step or at the complex managers office was sent back to sender. There was no notice left at my door or any indication of attempt to deliver. After 3 hours of tying to call the Walnut Creek location finally Patrick picked up asked for my address told me to hold one before I even finished telling him the complete address. I was on hold for about 15 minutes before he picked the line back up and hung the phone right back down. So, tried back for another hour and a half and finally got a hold of an Admin who told me Patrick was busy and to relay the message that my package was returned to sender. There has been multiple reviews stating this location NEVER answers their phone. If your lucky you may get a pick up then quickly hung up on again so that they don't have to deal with you. Time to renew our daughter's passport, which means both of us have to be there to submit the application. We went into WC USPS Monday morning, 6/23/14 around 10:00AM. I was dreading this appointment by the time we walked in because we couldn't find parking in the lot and the waiting area was packed. We headed to the passport door and went inside. We had the form filled out and the photo ready. The man working the passport desk was terrific. He had great tips and advice to ensure we get her passport before our trip. It was an easy, pleasant experience and we were in and out in 15 minutes. Really appreciate the great customer service! read more

This is by far, the WORST Post Office I have ever been to. From the terribly long lines with one person working in the front helping customers to priority boxes only being stored where you can't get to them unless the Post Office is open. Boxes you buy are an issue because they only sell either the tiny ones or the super huge ones. If you want a box that is the perfect in-between size, they only have priority boxes which cost an arm and a leg to ship. I also have a PO Box here and they cannot help in any way. They tell you if you need anything, do it online. When you go online, it tells you that you have to go to your Post Office where your box is located. I understand the USPS has been floundering for money for quite some time, but the service is AWFUL. I will choose to go anywhere but here from now on......I cancelled my PO Box. read more

They will not answer the phone and the 2 times someone did answer it was to place my call on hold.... Indefinitely. When I tried to call back it was busy and has remained busy for 45 minutes. When I finally reached a live breathing person she took my message and said she would have the supervisor call me......and I'm still waiting. It's been over two weeks now. It's not okay. I need to have new mailboxes installed at a homeowners association but I can't get the post office to call back so I can coordinate. So frustrating! This garbage can of a post office took my mail because my mailbox was full (which is odd because I don't get much, but fine) while my dad was in the hospital and I was gone. When I came back I immediately signed up for redelivery online. When it still wasn't returned to me, I filled out the redelivery note and left it in my mailbox. When my mail STILL wasn't returned to me I called the 800 number and spoke to a kind woman who said it was the post office's mistake and failure to redelivery and she gave me their phone number (925-935-0256). When I called I spoke to someone who was incredibly rude and all she told me is my mail wasn't there. She didn't answer any of my questions and when I asked to speak to someone else she left me on the line and walked away. How is this not theft?? They took my mail and failed to return it even though I requested two different ways, followed instruction, and did it before the cut off date. This place is incompetent. read more
