I LOVE this post office. I've sent dozens of packages through here, especially international care packages for the troops and the staff here are so knowledgable at helping me fill out the customs forms. It's a lot of work with lots of regulations, but they are patient explaining things to me and always update me if rules change. They can sometimes get a line, but it's rare and they are very fast. I've seen the line out the door and been helped and heading to my car in less than 10min. Union City and Fremont Post Offices have nothing on this location and I come here even if it's out of my way because they're the best! read more

I was helped by Halina who was efficient, polite, and welcoming. there was a line but everyone present worked quickly and moved the line along. ---------- i just got the sweetest lady helping me today. i'm a pack rat and have had 2 cent and 1 cent stamps since before they came out with the forever stamp... this lady waited while i applied them (40 cents worth) to get my tax envelope up to the required fee. over half my 9x12 envelope was covered in stamps! read more

I really like the Newark Post Office because the staff the staff are always very polite and the lines move quick (usually no line at all). The feel like the Union City Post Office takes forever and there's always a line. I prefer to come to Newark because it's empty, I'm in and out in less than 5 minutes every time, and it's much more friendly. read more

I feel like nobody really remembers this post office. I like coming here because it seems to be less busy than the Post Offices in Fremont. Random, I feel like this Post Office is cleaner then most and the lines move very quickly. Also, parking here is easy. Shorter Lines! That's usually the first thing that comes to mine when I think about the Newark Post Office. Shame on me that I have been living in Fremont for years and didn't know about this Post Office until 2 years ago. Compare to the Fremont and Union City Locations, getting through the lines here is much faster. The service, if the post office is offering any, is also a notch above the other location, although it's not saying much. There's also a passport office here that sees applications by appointments only. No walk-ins. To me, this is better than the Fremont Main Office where you have go and hope that there's no line. Just make your appointment here, show up with all your documentations. They will give you 15 minutes to answer all of your questions and even get the mailing envelop ready for. For your application fees, MAKE SURE you bring your check book! My TIP to you, if you are in the area, I would suggest coming here than any of the locations in Union City and Fremont. Save yourself some time. read more

I didn't get her name but the lady who worked at the desk by the door today (Nov 29, 2011) was SO INCREDIBLY RUDE! I needed some customs forms to fill out to send packages to my husband who's currently serving overseas and after walking around the post office, I did not see them put out anywhere so I decided to ask an employee. There were at least 10 people in line and my 9 month pregnant ass was not about to stand in that line for a handful of forms that should have been available in the lobby to begin with. So I waited for this lady, JUST TO ASK FOR FORMS THAT SHOULD ALREADY BE IN THE LOBBY, and she completely ignored me. Didn't even have the decency to make eye contact with me. I'd understand if she would just say to me "Ma'am, can you please stand in line?" but she just flat out pretended that she didn't see me and that I didn't exist. I was standing there with empty flat rate boxes so I obviously wasn't mailing anything out. I then very politely said "Excuse me, ma'am?" and she said back rudely "what do you want??" SO RUDE!!! You work in customer service, so act like it!! And replenish your damn supplies so people don't have to wait in line for things that they can just pick up and go! It's not my fault that there are only two windows open around the holiday season and the employees are painstakingly slow and causes the line to back up. It took literally less than 5 seconds for me to just ask for the form and for her to hand them to me. FIVE SECONDS. THAT'S IT. Now did that really take up that much of your time?! It may just be the hormonal pregnancy rage inside of me, but with all this talk about post office budget cuts, I sincerely hope that she gets fired. Maybe then she'll realize how important good (not even good, but at least DECENT) customer service is when you work in the customer service field! Tried sending a return for a fishing rod, granted the package was really long. Asshole clerk was some old dude with glasses telling me they won't take it and was essentially shooing me away and telling me to go to FedEx. Incredibly rude and didn't try to problem solve or even attempt to help me at all. Terrible service. read more

Unfortunately, I am forced to give 1 star to this USPS location as in the last 2 months 2 packages have been lost (1 marked as delivered to the mailbox but in reality nothing was delivered, and a 2nd package has been lost by the mailman. The management is no help as well). read more

Place is ok overall for simple things to get done (buy stamps, send out a package, etc). I come here once in a long while to utilize their service. Today, I went in and there was a longer line than usual due to the holiday. I brought a package, all set and ready to go, printed label and all. I ask the lady nicely if they had any clear pouches to put in the label (half a sheet). She stated no, but that I can buy their tapes and use it to tape my label instead. Wow.. some customer service! I guess they can't even spare a strip or two of packaging tape for a customer. Expect to have everything ready yourself. Customer service won't go any length (whether small or big) to help not unless you are paying. read more

As post offices go, this is one of the better ones. The service has always been friendly and helpful, lines move quickly (when there are any), there's abundant parking, and plentiful shipping supplies. I've visited this post office about 2-3 times per month to ship packages for the last year. I've noticed a lot of bad reviews citing pushy or testy employees, and I will just say this: I've never had these issues but then I've always been polite and friendly. These are government workers, I think most people forget that fact, and if you are testy or pushy with them they WILL be testy and pushy back to you. Treat them professionally and courteously and you will almost universally get the same back. Also don't be an idiot, EVERYTHING you need to know about shipping and receiving via the US Postal Service is explained PLAINLY AND CLEARLY on their website at www.USPS.com - If you have questions about how to package things, how to write an address, how to ship, what the fees and services are - go read their website first. There's no excuse for coming and standing in line for 15 minutes then getting to the front and asking a billion questions that you could have found the answers to yourself (easily) before even going to the post office. read more

Normal post office. Does look very old compared to nicer locations in the MIlpitas/San Jose area but whateves. It's 2.1 miles from my new house so win for me. I dropped of a letter since i barely missed my postman... got bills to pay... you know what i mean... lol. So tidy enough. Large parking spaces and plenty of them. This is by far my favorite post office! I have been using them to ship my online sales for years. The Fremont post office is a little bit closer to me but I prefer to go to this one. The lobby is always clean and organized. The parking lot is big and except for the holiday season and tax time, you can easily find parking. The lines can get long during the holiday and tax season or on a late afternoon, but the staff is always very friendly, courteous and helpful. read more

My favorite post office in the area. They work really fast so despite how long your line is, the max wait time for service would be 12 mins! Yup, I timed myself ;) Anyhow, for the ambiance amount of time that I've been here to mail things out for my work, they are not only extremely helpful but extremely entertaining as well. They work pretty fast and are extremely knowledgeable about the products you need for whatever you need. I love that I can easily park, wait in line, and be out within 5 minutes. This little post office is neat, tidy, and friendly. Although there is sometimes a wait, the employees try to be as courteous and efficient as possible. There is plenty of parking, although I should probably be walking there since it's pretty close to home. The really exciting thing about this post office is that their stamp machines are almost always functioning! I know, simple things push my buttons, but still. I've been here twice and the first time was memorable because the line was so long. The 2nd time I came here was this past weekend. The post office had just opened and the line was quite short. However, a few minutes after I stood in line, the line was literally forming close to the door. There were 2 cashiers and the one that helped me was very friendly. She gave me shipping options to mail my packages and even though the line was so long, she did not give me any pressure to hurry up and choose something. Parking was plentiful. read more

Halina was extremely welcoming and friendly and the lady who helped me with my passport application (forgive me, I forgot to get her name) was equally as supportive and friendly. Terrible customer service. I've been trying to track down a package that left SF 12 days ago. I filed a claim online and they told me information that I already knew from tracking it online. Left my name and number for a supervisor to call me and no one returned my call, currently waiting 5 days for a call so far. Trying to contact this location is out of the question as the phone seems to be busy 80%of the time. I'm a full time college student and a part time worker so actually being able to walk in this location makes it difficult since all post offices close early. This experience just reminded me of why I stopped using USPS and switched to UPS. ASSUMING my issue gets resolved, I will no longer use their services until I see positive change. read more

Sharon Malansala is one of the rudest people I have encounter in life. Not sure why a person like this can become a manager. She not only yelled at me but also yelled at employees in front of me. I arrived the office at 1:50pm, Sharon blocked at the entrance and told me it's closed. I said your business hours shows that you close at 2:00, why would you close the door 10 minutes early? She finally let me in after some debate about closing hour. Then she started yelling at the employee who helped us at the counter....she totally shows no respect for anyone. Do yourself a favor and see what you can do online before you come in. Print out your shipping labels at work, go to work hella early before anyone comes in and print out all your shipping labels and then see if you can use the color printer to print out a photo or two. Then go to the post office, pass up the line, and just drop your package off to the front counter. read more

The people that work at the post office are friendly. But I've noticed a lot of people have been saying their mail has been lost or missing. I recently mailed out certified mail for my boyfriend, which contained very important papers to the IRS, at this location. I went ahead and tracked the mail and it has been sitting in the "sorting facility in Newark" for five days! I went ahead and called customer service and they gave me a case number. Now I have to wait till tomorrow to talk to them. This is ridiculous! My boyfriend spent a lot of time and money for those papers and for it to be mailed! I feel like the people that work there don't care and just put the mail in any pile or they are disorganized. I won't be going here again! read more
