Its a hit or miss with customer service. The guy that runs the office is really helpful, can seem very direct but nothing too extreme. He's actually really helpful every time. Cathy, on the other hand....I guess depending on her mood. She can be so condescending to customers, getting irritated and rolling her eyes, talking to them like theyre five yrs old...especially if they dont understand. I caught eye contact with her before when I felt she was being rude. Then another day she seems nice, but its all a facade (If you aren't happy, find a new job because this one requires consistent good customer service). I constantly visit this location because it is the closest to me. I have noticed previously the way an employee talks to customer and today I experience it. I believe when you ask for a product is because you already know what you want. Unless you're asking if unsure of what you need. Employee is very condescending and talks to you like you're 5 yrs old and maybe because I don't look Caucasian because I'm not, makes her think when you're not from this country you don't know how to write an address on an envelope. A pretty busy USPS location. There was a steady stream of people coming in and out of the place. We just needed to drop off and it was pretty quick. There was a private parking lot with a fair amount of parking. There's also a drop off mailbox (blue box) outside if you don't want to go inside. My bf went in and out with a receipt. It's also located in a off the beaten path location but you can easily find it by using GPS. It was open on a Saturday which was nice but does close at 2pm. read more

About as useful as a sunroof on a submarine. Lost my package and marked as delivered and left in a locker, no key left, told me to check with building management, confirmed with management that no other locker exists. Told USPS this, basically said oh well sorry. Nice to lose a 90$ package with no remediation. read more

U.S. Post Office is right behind the Irvington Farmers' Market. i was using the parking lot to exit the area when i spotted a drive by parcel receptable at the left of the driveway. so cool! drop off my mail. didn't drive by close enough. i needed to exit my car to drop mail off. checked rear view mirror. didn't see any cars behind me. relieved i wasn't blocking any cars. noticed most people park further away and walk to the farmers market. read more

Poor customer service; they never smile to their customer, sounds demanding when we pay - like we are paying to see their black faces. They never re-delivery after the first time although it says they will on their note and online; I had to go there in person after a few days of waiting. Today was a bad day at this post office. I went to mail my package first the lady was not very helpful with helping me find a box for my priority mail to go out and only option I had was to purchase another box and when ask to provide priority tape the lady claim to only have tape for sale and none for priority mail packages! I go to the post office regularly and this was the first time I was told such story that they have not been using Priority Mail packaging tape. The entire staff should be ashamed for such poor service.!I will never go back to the post office ever again! read more

I had a prepaid package that needed to be dropped off and since I was in the area, I decided to find the nearest post office. It was a Saturday morning and roughly 9:30am. This location came up on my search so I decided to drop by. When I showed up, there was only one other person there. I grabbed my box and walked down to the counter. I was immediately greeted with one of the employees there and gave her my box. I asked her for a receipt and left. As soon as I left the post office, the parking lot was full of people and I had a hard time getting out. Overall, the experience was painless. I was in and out in 1-2 minutes. i frequent this location to drop off packages everyday. i came today to drop off 15 packages. halfway through scanning simi stopped to ask if we had a lot more and she tried to direct us to the self serve kiosk because the line was getting long. i told her i drop them off so they can be scanned in. i've dropped packages off in the drop box and they've gone missing and because they're not scanned in it looks as if i never dropped off my packages. she had no reply. i don't know why simi was trying to rush me when i waited in line like everyone else and i came to the post office to handle business like everyone else. everyone else waiting in line was free to use the self serve kiosk so im confused as to why she would direct me there in the middle of helping me in stead of directing them. terrible service read more

You often have to brace yourself when visiting the Post Office. Long lines/wait time, people not knowing where to go/what to do, unfriendly employees - it's all expected, right? With all of that said, let's focus on this location. I've been coming here many times a week in the last month. While I sometimes deal with the things that I initially listed above, I have to say that this location is efficient and friendly. I typically see about 3-4 employees at the counters. Overall, never had a terrible experience. What I think causes some of the negative experiences are the people who come here. You know, the ones that are not prepared or have a ton of questions. Or how about that person who thinks that they can cut in front of the line just because they were using the writing stand near the front of the line? Grr! I do wish the employees were a bit more observant in managing the line, especially identifying those who cut - but I totally understand that it can't always happen. Maybe it's because they're already preoccupied with the unprepared folks in front of them. It really is comical trying to analyze the madness that goes on in a Post Office with the expectation of a perfect experience. But if I have to experience it and take the risk, I'd definitely do it here. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. It's probably one of THE worst businesses I've ever visited, and I know that at this point I shouldn't be surprised that it ended up being a US Postal Office, but I'm still surprised that places like this exist. First of all, I have to agree with the previous reviewers in saying that this place is vastly understaffed. It took almost an hour to talk to someone at 10:00AM on a Tuesday morning, and the line wasn't even that long. The combination of too much work for the one lady that was at the counter, her horrible attitude with the people when she did help them out, and just the horrible atmosphere that this place provided was just unbelievable. All I wanted to do was mail out two packages, and honestly after having waited so long and seen how badly the workers treated the customers, I tried my best to not step on any toes and asked as few questions as I could manage. Somehow, I still managed to get insulted by this korean lady, both to my face in english and behind my back in korean. This place is absolutely ridiculous, and I finally understand why I've stuck with UPS for shipping my parcels over USPS despite higher prices. read more

Says on tracking that they delivered my package in my secured locked mailbox but I never received. I called to resolve issue. Said they would call me back next day to check route if item was delivered. Called me after week only because I filed a claim online. They said they checked their records and said it was delivered in my secure mailbox which has a lock. I know that it says it was delivered, that's what tracking is for. I could check that myself. Short Story: A mediocre USPS. Not too bad, but not too good either. Long Story: I have been coming to this post office off and on for the past 3 years, and one thing has always been consistent...long lines! Okay, I realize that lots of people mail things and that federal employees need to put up with a lot, but there comes a point when you need to be efficient. I find this lacking at this post office. Not that I have been to 100 others and compare though... I will say that every time I have been, they have always been able to take care of my needs. I'm writing this review because I think the post office and DMV both get bad reps. These people work their tails off everyday, and take nothing but lip from customers. They're good at their jobs, and if most people who walked in there had half an ounce of common sense, your visit wouldn't go so bad. Zero stars High af shipping costs, phone is only connected for show but no one ever answers it, you have to pay at least $15 extra to do their job for them (you pay to "intercept the package" as they call it, which means you pay to have them hold the package at their office for you to pick up in the morning), and lastly... if you paid extra to pick up your package from them then they will still ship it so you'll have to wait all day to get it and hope it won't be late for the 3rd time in a row now, additionally it will take 7-8 days to get a refund for "intercepting that package" Yeah I'm salty, but you can also agree how ridiculous this all is read more

The four-eye chinese woman who works at the counter has the WORST attitude problem on the face of the earth. For work purposes, I came here early on a weekday to pick up medium size priority mailing boxes, so I can ship out customer holidays gifts. I walked in and grabbed 10 from the "ITS FREE" rack ... lemme repeat.. "ITS FREE". And she nearly shouted out, while helping out a customer, with " EXCUSED ME! you CAN NOT TAKE ALL THOSE BOXES" So i turned around and said, "okay, well i NEEED them to package things to be sent out today" her: " YOU ONLY TAKE 2 or 3. NO MORE" (in broken english) me: "2 or 3??? LET ME REPEAT.. i said i need to ship things out! and i need them" her: NO! First of all lady, this is the USPS, not your own damn little asian shop. I am not stealing these damn boxes to go home and frame them on my walls. So, wtf is your damn problem? Wtf does she want with these boxes? eat them? She is the reason why, Chinese ppl (i am half Chinese btw, so don't think I'm being racist) has a bad reputation for being cheapa$$es. After her shouting at me, I ended up taking the boxes anyways. Surprisingly, a sweet woman overhear our screaming conversation and asked if i needed more boxes, so she can grab them for me. Later the day, I came back and smack nearly 50 packaged boxes in her face and stared right into her eye while i said loudly, "NO i don't want her to help me. Apparently, using these boxes were NOT allowed here." and asked the hispanic (i think) woman to help me instead. Oh, and yes... i did take more. My co-worker took the full 30 boxes stack from the shelf. Message to the menopause chinese woman, stop giving all your damn customers attitudes, you aren't GOD in this damn place that you think is your home. Oh man, I don't usually hate the post office like others do, but the Irvington branch makes me hope that email will kill snail-mail! Ok, we could probably never really get rid of snail-mail, but I can definitely see why the USPS has been losing so much ground these last few years! The Irvington branch has such god-awful customer service! Let me explain through a story... Imagine, if you will, a poor working guy, who just got off his shift from the factory down the street. He wants to buy stamps, so that he can send out his wedding invites! How exciting, no?! But oh no! As he walks into the post office and stands in line (behind just one other person), the postal employees, God bless them, chase our hero out of the building, screeching "We're closed! We're closed!" What to do now? "But where else can I buy 61-cent stamps for my wedding invitations? Or 28-cent postcard stamps for the reply cards?" he asks. The shrug and icy glare indicate they know they're his only hope. It's like they get off on being witholding!? They can't just help a guy out. Because they couldn't show a shred of kindness, the guy went home, sad and dejected. If this sounds like a true story, that's probably cause it is. This star is ONLY so I can review. I used to come here quite a bit because I sell on eBay often and they have that handy kiosk so no matter the long the line is I rarely wait. Today I left here speechless. I brought my infant daughter of 5 weeks out with me to mail an item off using the kiosk as I always do. There was a gentleman in front of me so I waited with my daughter in her car seat behind him. While I waited my turn my child began to cry. I proceeded to have a friendly conversation with the mans curious young daughter about my baby until he was finished. My infant was still crying but being an infant I knew this was just one if those moments where you finish what you need to and go as many new parents would do the same. As I was nearly done addressing my package an older Asian lady opened one of the secure doors from inside the postal area where she proceeded to yell, "Take care of the baby crying or I will call the police on you!" Everyone turned to look at her before she slammed the door closed. I was pretty shocked. My grandfather was a post man and I am sure he is looking down from the big postal service in the sky with shame. Reality check, babies cry. My child is well taken care of and you my sad woman are NOT the worlds mother. Beware the customer service here. Even if you are using a kiosk! read more

I had 2 bad experience with USPS Postman. He is short Chinese man with bad attitude. I supposed to get a package from eBay worth 200$. Never got it. The tracking info showed delivered. USPS did not listen to us and said they could not help us. That Chinese guy is a thief. My brother sent me a money order with certified mail and it was lost when the info showed "out of delivery". They just said sorry. The same guy said he did not remember. I complained to the manager and just listened what I said. Never send a valuable thing or document with USPS. Pay a little more and go to UPS or Fedex. More reliable. read more

I come here to use the self service kiosk since the service sucks and the Thornton one is always packed shut. I sent out a few packages 4 days ago and one of my packages doesn't have any tracking information and the postage didnt print the first time i payed, so I called after paying twice. The lady tells me I don't know what to tell you, so I get loud with her and she tells me to come in and bring my receipts. I came here to mail a package and some cards for Christmas! This office is on my way to the office and the closes to my home. It has been in the neighborhood for ages and still as busy. Getting to the post office is not too bad. It is located behind the main road on a small street. Parking the car when you get to the office is something which tested my patience each time. The lot is too small for the amount of patrons going to this office. After trying my patience, in the lot, I parked across the lot and walked to it - walking was easier compared to the wait in the lot. Once inside the office, the test of patience began again. The line was long and there were only three people on duty to service all of us. I did notice the clerks tried their best to be helpful to the patrons. When I got to the counter, the clerk who helped me with my mailing needs did smile and greeted me. This was welcomed after waiting in the long line. At that point, I paid for the postage and thanked the clerk for the service and smile. I have found that the post office is the lowest provider of shipping service for packages to my home state. For sending mail, e-mail has been the way-to-go. Too bad we can not e-mail packages yet! read more

This place really needs to pick up the pace. My biggest issue with it is that they're so so so slow!!!!!! I don't understand how places like this function - I'm big on efficiency, and this place couldn't be further from that. I just went here this morning around 10:30 am to send off a birthday card (such a simple task and the address was already on the envelope and everything), and I was the 5th person in line -- then, it took me nearly 30 minutes to get to the front! The staff that was helping out the people in front of me were taking forever. They couldn't find some of the packages that people had slips for, things were taking forever to seal and pack, and there was even some staff just too lazy to take on more people! They had the "next window please" sign in front of them - seriously, so ridiculous! By the time I got to the front, the line was probably 12 people behind me. Poor them. Luckily, I was in and out in 2 minutes because I just needed one stamp. When I finally picked out my stamp, I was not happy with the selection, but oh well. I was just happy to get the job done and leave. This place really needs to have more staff working and/or have them not be so lazy. Definitely come at off-times, or else you'll be stuck. read more

The worst USPS with the worst customer service ever. I checked mail tracking via their website which says delivery attempted, I heard no knock on the door, no notice left in my mail box or the door. It was a Saturday and was home all day. No one was picked up the phone when I called this location, so I went ahead and called their 1-800-ASK-USPS and was told to go ahead and pick up the mail at this specific location. The very RUDE lady on the counter, told me they were already closed when obviously it was before their posted closing time. She then asked me to wait outside the door, so I did. She then asked the for my notice, so I told her that I did not have one because the mail man did not even bother leaving one. She then proceeded to blame the 1-800-ASK-USPS people and said "those people don't work at this location, they wouldn't know the process here." If you ever had issues with this specific location, do everyone in Fremont a favor a file a complaint by calling their 1-800 number. read more

This place ALWAYS has a line, no matter what day or time you go. But sometimes, 3-4 post office workers is better than 1 (I'm referring to the Mission San Jose branch). I've never had a really bad experience, like the other Yelpers, but I can agree that customer service isn't their top priority here, heh. I have a PO Box at this office because it's closest to my home. But ONLY for that reason. The personnel at this place basically phones it in. If there is a line, and there usually is, your wait will be long. They can't be bothered to move any faster. They have only TWO speeds ... slow and slower. They put in a fancy computerized kiosk scale that takes credit cards ONLY ... and took OUT the coin op machine. So you can't just drop in and buy some stamps with your coins, you HAVE to use a credit or debit card at the kiosk, and THAT too often means lines cuz most folks don't know how to operate the kiosk well or fast. Also, often I will get mail with transposed numbers in MY PO Box because someone can't bother to read the numbers right. So it makes me wonder if MY mail has gone to the wrong boxes too. Sometimes I will come in the lobby, and the employees will be whooping it up in the back room like they are having a party, but the lines will still be going slow in the lobby -- usually with only ONE clerk, maybe TWO. And if ever a THIRD clerk shows up, one of the others will promptly leave for a break. But the proof positive I know these guys are the Post Office's rejects is about 3 or 4 years ago, they were featured on the evening newscast because someone found their political mailers simply DUMPED in a trash bin in the back of the building. Makes you wonder how often it's happened when someone DIDN'T notice. Go to ANY other post office if you can. read more
