I had a very bad experience with this location. I came in take my ticket wait for 45m. The lady at window 1 asked me my information and my zipcode. I explained my situation about my parents that they lived in a foreign country so I just need a general information to help them plan and what IDs do they need to bring. The employee kept cutting me off said that she can't tell me any information which is understandable and I'm aware about the privacy rights. She told me my dad need to come to the "local" office that he lives and said my zipcode is different. Instead of helping and advising they just told me that my parents need to brings their IDs that it. I'm not asking her to go to my parents profile or social to gave me the information. All I'm asking is show me like a flyer or where to find information, answering general questions for example how many ID do they need to bring, what type of IDs will be acceptance and what ID will not be acceptance. I tried to repeat 2-3 times my questions but she did not let me finish it. My parents are elderly, and they will travel very far to get their benifits done so I hope the employees be nicer to people to save time for others. read more

One of, if not the most inefficient government offices I've had to deal with. At least the employees are not rude, per se, but just I can't imagine how difficult it must be for people with physical or mental handicaps, language and literacy barriers navigate the office and system if I myself have difficulty, and I'm pretty good at navigating systems. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this Social Security Administration office. Today I came in person, took a ticket, and waited for 1.5 hours--only to be told that they now only accept appointments. This was never communicated clearly. The website still states that drop-ins are accepted, and the ticket kiosk even asks whether you have an appointment or are doing a drop-in. It's extremely frustrating and a waste of time to wait that long just to be turned away. If appointments are now required, this needs to be clearly posted online, on the door, and at the ticket machine to prevent this kind of confusion. read more

If ever you are coming in early that 9am while the office is still closed you can set an appointment online with the barcode provided. In the regular hours upon entering in the building, You can checked in on either of the 2 kiosk that is provided. Better wait for your number to be called. Take note: it's a random call of numbers. I have been to this office 3 times and I always arrive about 9 am when they open. The wait was about 30 minutes. I would make an appointment if I could.. I tried to call but no one answers, it would be nice if we can make an appointment online, why do we need to call and wait for hours for someone to answer just to make an appointment? Having said that, I was helped by Mrs Johnson 2 times and find that she is both very knowledgeable and very pleasant. Have had to use this office many times last year due errors made by the previous administration's SSA head office attempts to cut my benefits using incorrect data. 5/31/24 - RE - Fremont office They closed before 10 am today and people were waiting . they put a very small sign on the side window and not even on the front door. The employees at this office seem to have no customer service skills or able to answer the simple question. They make it extremely hard on customers and take weeks to resolve simple things that should be resolved with few minutes , it seems that they don't understand their job These employees would not make it in any private sector or at another city. I had to go in and drop off sum papers.well as usual the lines were super long. I waited close to 45 minutes just to get in. Mind you I got there at 9 30 I dunno The people probably camp out. They only let 2 people at a time. They have a Security guard at the door.I know they are following the social distance rule. If I only knew that I just could of mailed the forms out it would of save me time and gas. My worker insisted that I go there. It is just impossible to get a live person to speak in this office. They just keep you waiting for a century and then hang you up. But surprisingly and fortunately they did do their job on time without causing any new trouble, at least this time for me. The worst customer service. I've talked to many different representatives and all of them have been rude. My uncle put in his retirement application May 23, 2023 and his retirement application is still under review. (It has almost been a year) my uncle also turns 65 this month. Keep calling his case manager who is never in so at this point idk what to do anymore. Lady I was speaking to also won't let me change my uncles case manager. If I could give this office 0 stars I would but sadly yelp wont let me do that. Hope nobody else has to go through the issues we're dealing with. read more

Quicker than you'd think or quicker than the DMV. Prepare for an hour or two. My whole time from the kiosk, waiting, to getting service took an hour and fifteen minutes on a Tuesday when I walked in at 1:30 PM. I had printed and filled out the paperwork at home though and got everything ready for a replacement. They don't necessarily call in an order, so be careful (the screen tells you that too). Just look up the info online to see what you need first: make it efficent as possible. read more

My advice. Don't line up at 8am there. Just go 30 mins before they close. The crowds are less, you get a ticket from the touch screen kiosk and they call you once to check you in and then you wait for to be called and within 30 mins you are done. I went at 3:30pm and came out of there exactly when they closed the door for the day at 4pm. Oh and remember on Wednesday they close at noon. read more

Amazing! the Fremont SS office is so efficient and orderly. Went there to submit my retirement application documents and it just took me 10 mins or maybe less and I'm done. Of course I had an appointment with Julie and she is the best! Very accommodating and pleasant person. Even when talking with her on the phone prior to my in-office appointment, she was very thorough and clear in explaining the process. My experiences with this office have been mixed: On the plus side, when it was necessary to get a replacement Social Security card for an employer; they were very efficient about taking my documentation and about delivering the replacement. They even had informative videos in the lobby. Also on the plus side, when my wife did enough work to improve her earnings record by two or three dollars per month, they automatically corrected her benefit and did it early during the year. They do have a drop box. I have used it at times in the past. Just ask the guard if you may leave off a small envelope in the drop box. On the other hand, ... ... . I posted a photo of a redwood tree, at least 80 feet tall probably more, that was certainly a living tree during the 1930's Great Depression quite a few years before many of today's Social Security beneficiaries were even born. read more
