Not the best customer service. Came to pick up mail that was sent here from my apartments. Already inconvenienced with that. There's 6 people in line in front of me. Trang is the one helping me next at the counter and I give my ID, I let her know my address doesn't reflect where my mail is sent and she says she has to help the person behind me while I write my address (mind you it took less than a minute to write my address down) while I'm waiting 3 other people get helped behind me and now I have to wait even longer because of her inconveniencing me. I needed to return an Amazon package. I printed out the return label. I took the package and the label to USPS. I had seem Fed Ex employee using tape to secure customer drop off, so I thought USPS could loan me some tape to attach the label to the box. It won't be much, anyway. The old man at the post office said I had to buy the tape for $3.99. I saw a half-used tape on the counter, so I took the tape. The old man shouted out loud:"Maam, put down the tape! Do not touch anything on the counter." I was so offended. I have not been so upset for a long long time. Something like this could have never happed at Fed Ex or UPS. I had an incident where my senior dog got out and nipped or tried to nip at the mailman ( she has no teeth and blind) the supervisor came to the house explained to me what happened, I was on the driveway in the car , she was very understanding she saw the dog and said to be more mindful of keeping the dogs contained, which she was absolutely right , but her customer service was great she was not rude at all and if coarse I will be more mindful to keep the door closed when I come in and out read more

Over the most recent seven months, five letters containing checks have been lost. Each check was mailed in the drive through lane box. The postal clerk responding to my complaint suggested mailing letters inside the post office building. Apparently this is a known problem at the Newark location. read more

There was an employee, "Khan", who was extremely rude and refused to answer a simple question about postmarking of the mail. He kept repeating that the mail would reach whenever it would. When asked again, he looked at someone else and said "doesn't he understand english?". Had a problematic package delivery issue and was finally directed to call this location to check on my package status. Situation was in limbo since online tracking couldn't give clear status info. Called this location's office line, and someone picked up! (Was skeptical it would be another automatic-loop call where you press 1s or 2s until you're auto-dropped / hung up on), but someone picked up! They sounded busy, but helped out right away and let me know the package wasn't in limbo but still in their facilities. 5 minutes talking to her on the phone effectively resolved the frustrating mystery I've been figuring out for an hour or more. Such a relief! Just the fact that someone picked up the phone right away, was helpful and kind, at a public service facility, like it was your local mom-and-pops shop, makes my heart warm up so much, so just wanted to slip in a compliment, thank you! read more

I agree this newer Post Office is nicer looking than some of the other USPS offices... That said we are here for a walk in passport drop off only... Per their own website this service is available... Either they haven't informed their staff OR the staff thinks it they make it difficult enough people won't come??!!! I'm not sure but, we stood in a very short line the clerk said go see the other clerk... ok...We change lines... a guy comes out of the back asks what we need we tell him. He says fine... our turn to talk to clerk she says we need an appointment... We say... That guy said fine, and it's just a drop off! She says ok...get in that line talk to her... Now there is only 3 clerks... We are now told to wait over there... by the wall... "she" will help you... We have talked to all 3 by now... They say we can only deal with one passport at a time... Now we are the only people there... we wait... A young couple come in for passport service. "They" tell them they have to have an appointment! Even though the USPS WEBSITE says WALK IN SERVICE AVAILABLE!! They finally take us (2nd clerk) reviews the paperwork to make sure it's correct... BAM 30 seconds were done! That could've been way easier... I know, I know government workers! Still it was better then Fremont and it's done! So trying to stay positive! read more

I've had a couple of okay experiences here, but the last one was horrible. I forgot to tape something onto my box (my bad, which I know) and the employee told me I had to buy tape. However, they had NO tape in stock to sell me and refused to tape it on for me. Pretty insane for a shipping place to not have any tape for customers. I guess I can be the first to review as it should be rated well. I have been to a few post offices in the Bay Area and I really like this one. It's pretty hidden unless you are from the area. I like that it's a main office with longer hours. They have a much better and bigger parking area, and drive through to drop off your mail is cool, too. Inside is clean. They do have a self-service area inside in case you don't want to get in line. They have other merchandise to purchase for your delivery needs. Also, staff is friendly and funny or at least, the ones I went to. They work pretty fast so the lines went by quick. This will be one of the main post offices I will be going to from now on. ;-) read more

Before the last month or two I've generally had a good experience with the post office. However recently I've noticed a lot of mishandling of mail, including not receiving my packages. I live in a condo unit and the USPS opens up the mailbox door, which gives access to other mailboxes in the complex. About a month ago I called the postal office because our entire mailbox had been left open. It didn't look tampered. It just looked like someone hadn't closed the door correctly. This last week I had two packages that were left in my parcel. However there was nothing in my parcel. I've tried calling the post office (literally 20xs a day) since this occurred and no one answers the phone. I'm very frustrated and upset. What is the point of a locked parcel if it's not locked correctly or placed in the wrong area. Plus awful customer service to not answer their phones. I hope they get it together soon. read more

Review for package delivery to home- The post office has generally done a good job, but there have been a couple of incidents where my packages were not delivered as expected. The tracker was active for all instances. The first missing package was scanned at the Newark post office but was not delivered (3/2023). I called and they did a search but no package was found. I notified the seller and still did not resolved this. The second missing package had two different product's bundled into one. It was scanned at the Newark post office and marked as delivered but no packages were in the mailbox. I called the usps inspection and filed a complaint. The Newark post office manager called and again no package was found. I notified the seller and still they did not resolved this. (4/2023) I hope USPS can resolve these issues. Just because my items were not insured does not mean it can be mishandled. Just as a precaution, when the postman delivers the mail, he opens up the entire condo unit's mail bin door. To ensure items are stuffed correctly, I even taped a note with the resident's names in the mailbox wall. read more

Had a very bad experience with USPS.com. The system didn't process my change of address request successfully and didn't start to forward my mails as the time requested. Losing letters from DMV is like a disaster. Have to come to USPS offices several times to solve the problem. But some of the employees here are generally not helpful. One of them was nice but didn't know much about the process. One of them (the one who mainly be at the counter of passport) was not friendly or professional at all. What she told me was totally wrong and her attitude was really impatient. While their manager is just the best! She is so professional, patient and trustworthy. She spent pretty much time (even in off time) helping me with the case, talking with other USPS offices, tracking my mails and explaining the complicated situation to me clearly. Big thanks to her and all the four stars go to her!!! And also I sincerely hope that USPS can train their other employees properly and make them more professional and helpful. read more

This is by far my favorite USPS. Great service, great people, and the absolute sweetest workers. They are always, always in a good mood and eager to help you. And there is NEVER a long line. I mean, Newark isn't very big. I actually had a postal issue, and was personally called within an hour and it was resolved. The Newark USPS really cares about their customers. Came here on a Saturday around 10:35 AM and I literally just beat the rush. People started coming it around 10:40 for their passport appointments and to send mail. There was only one person working the register. She super kind and helpful! She helped the gentleman ahead of me with getting all his items together for his passport application, and I could tell she was well versed with the process. When it came to my turn, she was great with assisting me in mailing out my passport renewal. She was kind enough to staple my photo as I had completely forgotten to staple it. I was in and out within 10 minutes. I rarely come to the post office because I always hear about how busy it can be. Maybe it was just a good day for me? The lady who helped us was beyond wonderful and professional. We were in and out within 5 minutes. I used to go to Berkeley to get passports because you can't get an appointment here in Fremont, but I am so glad I was able to book my appointment at our Newark location. We dropped by this location to check up on our missing package which was marked "delivered directly" on usps.com. Not once has a usps worker rang our doorbell for this package, nor have they left it on the porch. The supervisor was extremely rude and lacks customer service skills. We were told that they don't deliver to our area yet, which is understandable since we live in a new construction. However, when we asked if they could just input that it's AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP instead of DELIVERED DIRECTLY, the supervisor became defensive, irritated, and flatly declined to do any such thing. I couldn't believe they'd opt to incorrectly mark a delivery, just to probably raise their performance metrics. All we asked was for them to correctly indicate online where our package was, so that we wouldn't have to worry about our packages being taken by others. My wife returned very upset from this encounter with the supervisor, and felt that even if the preferred action couldn't be promised, that at least they could have been more professional and courteous in their response. read more

Some of the nicest post office workers that I have EVER met! They always greet you with a smile and are never nasty if you make a mistake or forget to fill out a form. They guide you through the steps, tell you what you need to do, tell you to step aside to finish what you need to do, and then take you back as soon as you're ready -- no need to stand in line again! Also, they offer free tape on the side if you need some extra security for your package. In the past few months, I've made more than a few trips to this post office and have enjoyed my visits each time :) read more

I love this location of the US Postal. For a while I use to have to come here twice a month to get some personal things taken care of and I can't tell you how great everyone is at this location. Now if you watch Hallmark like I do then you can understand that I love the postables. With the exception of coming on a busy Friday afternoon I get in and out of this place pretty quick. You can get you mail sent, buy stamps, get money orders and they have P.O Boxes for rent. The other great thing that you can do is also get you passport done at this location. But again, I love the employee's who work here for they are always so nice and many times they will split lines for people who are just picking up mail or doing passports. I do have one tip that when you decide to mail anything important to please get yourself a tracking number. You are able to track your packages to their destination and that will alleviate a lot of stress and confusion. If you will be shipping out for the holiday season coming up please be aware of the calendar days for they will let you know when the cut off time is to send presents for international and domestic, just give them a call. It's a hit or miss with customer service. The line is never long but the employees are not very nice at all. If you don't have to stand in line to work with them it's better. This morning I was first in line but because I wasn't standing where the "line position" is she refused to help me until I moved which is okay except for there was NO ONE in line!
