We were in the passport only line since 9:30am and our turn wasn't until 11:30am. I don't understand why they can't do appointments and walk-ins but of course it's walk-ins only. There's also pretty much only one person attending to the passport line and when that person is gone, no one is assisting the passport line. This is a waste of our time and they make bank out of us. They are definitely maximizing their profit from customers. 40 numbers are giving out and they're guaranteed their profit from the passport line. Ugh! I didn't not expect this at all. So we were next in line but they were calling out numbers so the fact that we are next does not matter at all! Wth! Shouldn't the customers that we're waiting in line get served before the others! I am here for a passport application during their working time period at 12pm (they open till 2pm), they told me I can't do it because they gave out all the numbers already. They didn't say anything about it on the website, and I was in line for so long. If you require an appointment, please specify it online, and I called ahead of time hundred times, no body picked it up. The services from the USPS in Milpitas is not getting better. Recently in a month(June of 2016) I lost packages in two separate incidents. Tracking showed it had been delivered to me but NOT. I never received them and called USPS at 408-262-0860 and get the answers on, that he(Postmaster I presume) would check if the packages were either with carrier or in other PO Box. and promised I would get a notification by phone. But never get a call until I called again for another incident! Well, I am trying to understand that they are just like us who could make mistakes, but I think it is unbearable. When we meet these people at USPS in person, I believe that they are not necessarily rude nor bad, but I don't get what I supposed to get- some of my mails for my business and some of packages I bought from online retailers. I hope they don't steal my thing-eeek I don't even want to think of that! I want make a move so that they might do better, by reporting these incidents to Federal authorities who could help us to make it right! I just don't want nag rather make formal complain that they could fix some at least. Anyone knows how to or number to contact the Fed Authorities in charge, please let me know. read more

This review is regarding the passport application process. Today I waited for three hours to apply for a new passport. I came at 9:30 and I didn't leave until 12:30 pm. It took so long because they only have one employee processing passport applications. Also, it took about 10 minutes to process one person and a lot of people were applying for passports for their whole family. If you need to come to this post office to apply for a new passport, come before the the post office opens. They only take 40 people per day, so come early. The only reason I am giving this post office three stars is because of the Asian woman that processed my application today. She was very nice and she processed my application quickly. She deserves five stars. If it wasn't for her, I would have given this post office one star instead of three. read more

Trying to call for information - been ringing for 12 minutes now but no one will pick up.

No customer service. Had a package addressed correctly but they stated the package was undeliverable because it was missing a unit number-I was having the package shipped to an office where there is no number. When I explained I work in the office where the package was being reliever the "supervisor" made a sarcastic comment stating the post office can send all of the mail for our property to the office for us to distribute. Instead of shipping the package to where it was originally addressed they sent it back to the sender. I even got attitude and sarcasm from the supervisor when talking on the phone! For one-we do get mail without unit numbers ALL THE TIME! We have days where mail isn't picked up at all. Customer service is definitely lacking at this location, and it appears it starts from top down. No wonder people are choosing other delivery options! read more

I go to this post office at least once a week. It is an old office in a very busy location. It's hard to drive in and it is hard to drive out because of the small parking lot. However it is in the centre of Milpitas and everyone in the city relies on it. I know there is always room for improvement, but I know the employees inside already tried to process as many customers and as fast as possible. read more

they really need to improve their services. Their services are F grade... We received mails that would be 2-3 weeks ago date-stamps. Missing checks customer sent to us are common (so they may able to deposit for extra cash maybe) Employees can't get their packages or mails because it is not company name. And they don't provide mail notice to pick up at site. They just return everything they don't want to deliver. And if it got lost, it was lost in delivery. (maybe they took it and sold on e-bay or CL?) But seriously, we now send checks to our suppliers at correct addresses and they got returned saying unable to deliver. No wonder lots ppl gave them 1 star. They indeed have worse service ever. All those never happened while we were at San Jose or Santa Clara. read more

I am writing my first ever review in my life and that is because i could save people from this place. Worst every customer service exp. It's not about the queue , time ,etc. I believe these things are the part of the process and everyone should follow and you will agree that even after waiting for long time if you are treated properly u won't complain. Lady on the counter was so rude that i again first time ever i got irritated and kind of shouted. It's small space to write the whole conversation. I wish i knew here name to share . Even other workers were not that cooperative. Normally i never complain as i believe one should come fully prepared whichever office you go but you always have few things to confirm at the end. When you are very careful not to bug anyone but you worst response you will feel frustrated. Finally avoid this place if you can. read more

This post office is very inefficient, passport processing is so slow. They have two people processing them, however the lady who I think is the supervisor keep stopping & entertaining mail drop off rather than continuing processing passport. If she stop processing mail & just concentrate on processing passport the line will be done quickly. I'm not sure, why they have to stop & leave their post. SMH! I have to go back to work & waiting for more than 2 hours is not acceptable. read more

Was really dreading this day but the wife was set on getting passports for the boys and myself. We downloaded the DS-11 and had pictures taken at Costco. Had front and back IDs ready. Only forgot to have front and back IDs from the wife. Paid 4 dollars extra for that. Wife got there around 6:30 and was number 3 in line. Went there with the boys around 8:00. Line was really long then. Postmaster had let everyone inside early to get out of the cold. Nice guy. Carmelina ( hope I got that right) handled everything from assigning numbers and keeping everything running smooth. Passports section started at 9:15 and we were done by 1000. Good luck. read more

Lately I've been going here often just to ship out things or pick up parcels...it's always hectic in the parking lots trying to get in...and parking is a b*!@%! ...Once you get in the lines seem long..but honestly with all their workers actually working...I can get in and out withing 5-8 min!.. amazing..! I had a package to be RMAed and returned to a vendor. I went to USPS to ship it with confirmation. After more than a month and a half, my package was not delivered to the vendor. I tracked and found several messages said in the status "transfer to the next facility". When I called to ask about its whereabout, some clerk said "I don't know ..." I asked to talk to his supervisor, had same answer plus an advise "don't be upset". They got my money and gave me the receipt that paid for the shipping with the confirmation number and they "don't know where my package were shipped to and how it was handled". Finally, I had to ask them to return the package to me because the return date was expired. A few days later, I got it back without a note or explanation. It's ridiculous and totally not professional! There was no more word to say! read more

I gave a fee of $50 to Milpitas Post Office on 4/5 and until this day I am waiting to get a key to my mailbox at 830 Hillview Ct Building. I have been wrong keys 3 times now over last 4 weeks and have paid at least 6 total visits to the post office. All the employees have been unhelpful and at least one person been extremely rude. Now to get to my mail, I have to call post office between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM, spend 10 mins in getting to the postman coming to the mailbox. Then, at the time he comes, he calls me. I run down the building to collect the mail. And, have to do this dance whenever I expect an important mail to come in. I am just not clear on how to get around this problem! I am going to post the name of people with whom I have dealt with in solving the problem. read more

Passport Review: Woke up early today and I got there around 6:30 am. I was the 6th in line. I brought a chair with me - thanks to all Yelp reviews! The guy in front of me got here a lil after 5 am. The postal service starts at 9 but passport services won't start until 9:15. By 9:08 the postal guy started passing out a waist list so that we can put the name down and also get a number. I got a 5. He told me to come back around 9:40ish. My number was called around 9:50 and the process took less than 5 min because I've prepared all the documents. By 9:54, I was on my way out! Make sure you come with all required documents. I completed the application online then printed out. - One passport photo ( I used an App and took my own then sent to Walmart - it costs me 30 cents for 6. They also do passport photos which cost only 7.99 for two photos. I thought it's still a good price compare to other places) - Copy of driver license (one in front and one in back on two separate sheets of paper) - $110 for regular-non expedite Adult book ( I purchased a money order right there) - $25 separate fee you pay to the post office. I also paid in cash - Proof of citizenship, I brought my expired passport Overall I thought the whole process was smooth. The clerk was nice and polite. Everyone waited quietly (before people called their people out lol...). Some sat on the floor, some stand the whole entire time I was there some brought chairs. I noticed closer to open time, people started calling their relatives/friends to come and get ready :-) The two guys in front called their wives and kids and I thought i was not going to be 6th in line anymore :-) There is NO restroom available onsite but there are lot of businesses around that have public restroom available. read more

Lived in Milpitas all my life and this post office does not seem to get any better. I try to limit the times I need to go to the Post Office, but whenever I do, everyone gives very bad customer service. Maybe if they experience the trauma of losing their jobs, they'd learn to appreciate being there more and put more value into their job and customers. read more

Poor customer service. I came with a pre-paid postage, got in line, came to register and asked them if they can provided any proof of them received package from me, or at least scanned it. They refused to scan, said they only accept package didn't have time to scan it, if want them to scan has to pay for extra service. There another one who worked there told me, reason why I pre-paid online because it cheaper!! Wow, I can't believe this kind of service. Not recommended! Went to USPS on Hope St. Mountain View, CA. They didn't let me wait online, but as soon as they saw I had the pre-paid label, they came and scan it, gave me the receipt. I went in and out within 3 minutes. I rather drive extra 10 miles to have this kind of service. Recommended! read more

The delivery guy spend not more than 1 sec then left a notice at front gate (Arlo caught the video). Actually both my parents were home waiting for the package. I wanted to file a complaint towards one of their carriers for not knocking on the door to deliver a package I've been waiting weeks for. I spoke to a "supervisor" and then was transferred to the "postmaster" I believe. Both were very rude. I didn't raise my voice, I didn't curse, and they both just took the carrier's word for having knocked on the door. I'm sitting in the same living room where the front door is located no more than 10 paces from the door, reading a school article in complete background silence. We do not have a door bell, and I definitely did not hear a knock. Both persons I talked to on the phone basically said they've dealt with many customers who say the same thing, basically stating my account of events is wrong. They did not offer any formal paths of complaints, any options of escalation were it to happen again, I've had housemates say they don't hear knocks when other packages have come either, and hung up on me before I could ask a follow up question to pick up my package at their facility within a certain time frame. I pray none of my online retailers use USPS ever again. They are the ONLY delivery service I've had issues with. read more

I would have to say hands down the most efficient Post Office I have been to in my lifetime. I walked in and was surprise to see 5 clerks at the window and they were all quick and friendly. Unfortunately where I live we only have one clerk, bad attitude and a long line. The only negative remark I have is they did not have any priority mail shoe box in stock and nor do they keep it on hand. This Milpitas Postal Office service is sucks from the mail carrier to the Post master... I had an Urgent Overnight mail supposed delivered to me next day AM. The mail got dropped off from out of California in one of the Postal offices on Tuesday, 9/16. However, the Milpitas USPS mail-lady did not come until Thursday, 9/18 12:22pm and dropped off a pick up slip and took off... It wasted my family 2 mornings waiting at home. I called the Milpitas USPS, the same mail carrier -lady answered my phone. She said she had already rung the door bell and she noticed someone was using the garden hose in the backyard when she was at the door... I asked her why didn't she ring the doorbell one more time or waited a bit more time? She told me "I don't care. I don't need to ring the doorbell one more time..." I had asked to speak with the post master. The post master was not that nice either to me because I know he was protecting his subordinators and trying to cover up their faults by telling me they are short-hand... He had hung-up on me after I complained I was not happy about their service and demanded for my mail to be re-delivered today... It is truly that Milpitas USPS don't care their customers, just like the lady mail carries openly saying the facts... I would say let's boycotting the Milpitas USPS services in California by using FedEx and UPS carriers. Thank you read more

had to by a sheet of stamps since they dont sell booklets anymore. Did you know they got rid of the postage stamp machines? I had to wait 20 mins in line and they didnt even have the colorfull love ones I wanted :( Having a party and yes, I bought a sheet for the invitations. For special occasions and my loved ones I often opt to hand write a letter and or invitation - email isnt very personalable. and oh how I dislike the text message invitations. If you text me an invite, hands down I will tell you that I have another commitment that day. Im not mean - If you wont take the energy to call or send me and invite that is not in text form you are basically telling me that my prescence is not necessary. At the end of the day its the energy that you put out there, same goes for dates. Please spare me your laziness. The worst post office ever! Consistently have packages missing. The packages have been from different vendors. Suspiciously, all packages that never make it to my PO Box are certain items, valued under a certain amount of money. This seems to be an ongoing issue at this post office. I complained to the Post Master General but I don't know how much that will help. I've had enough, just changed my address. read more

Never forwarded my mail, in spite of handing them a fully filled out form to forward my mail to the new address. I went back to check only to realize that there was nothing on their database. DON'T COME HERE WASTE OF YOUR TIME. I came here to ship out a package since it was on the way home. I came inside and it all already look dysfunctional line with workers who don't seem to know how to deal with customers. I came here to shop a package that had 1 lipstick and it was wrapped with foam and bubble wrapped. The lady told me that she couldn't take my box because of my tape and to buy their tape there but I refused and went back to my car tape it more securely. When I came back another lady told me again that they couldn't take it and it would open so I went back to my car AGAIN and taped it so more and when I came back with a new employee he said it's against their policy to have the tape I'm using. Now, I'm upset because I went back and forth thinking it need just more tape and in the end I wasted my time taping this box and being judged as if I'm shipping something completely illegal. WHEN ITS JUST 1 LIPSTICK. I called my husband and told him what happened and he told me to just not waste my time here anymore and that he will handle it. First thing I'm upset here is that the 2 ladies didn't tell me in the first place it was against their policy and now it looks like they were trying to sell THEIR TAPE AT the post office. Second, the other 2 ladies were BOT FRIENDLY AT ALL. They were rude and judgmental. The other young guy knew what he was talking about so I couldn't get upset for something he was more knowledgeable about. Other of all the post offices I've shipped my packages they've never said anything about the tape I've been using to ship out. To all the people coming here PLEASE DON'T COME. This review is merely for their front service. I would have given them more stars because they were open on weekends but that would skew this review. I was here very recently to open a PO Box. I was serviced by Stephanie. I don't know if she hates her job but I felt I was talking to an ATM machine or robot. No smile, no sense of human interaction. She was not even looking at me when I had questions. Whenever I asked or TRIED to ask a question, she would just interrupt me almost telling me I know everything you want to know/ask. Problem, customers DO NOT know that, this is why we try to ask. I think she is too tunnel-visioned and one-task at a time. Also, when she asked me to fill out another form (real-mail notification and street mail PO box service) she told me to make sure I read everything and that when I am done, just give it back to her. So, I did, read and signed, I returned the forms to her and she took and placed at a corner. I just hope those forms don't get lost or thrown away. I made an effort to say THANK YOU and no response - LMAO!!! Calling Post Master please teach your employees to have a sense to CLIENT service. It is not an excuse that they are busy, everyone is busy. read more

Passport: worst painful experience ever! Come at 5 am & bring a sleeping bag... One person doing passport & they open at 9:15. They only accept 40 passport customers per day with one employee doing it. 3-4 other employees helping the regular postal service line- redicolous! Service for passport here is the worst! You will literally wait for hours here, so come prepared. Call in sick from work, or else you'll be stuck here! I'm number 15 & I haven't moved in 45 minutes! BTW... Worst customer service you can get from Milpitas post office. We paid $50 to obtain a key to the apartment mailbox. After we paid, they supposed to call us within 1 week to pick up the key from the post office but after 2 weeks there was no call. When we showed up at the post office and asked why we didn't get a call, they blamed the person who made the key instead of taking on their responsibility. Then we asked for the key and they had nothing to show. Really!!! Another week had gone by... Once again, no call to pick up the key. The postmaster told me that he would personally to bring me the key on Tuesday when I paid them on the Friday before. I showed up at the post office today and the clerk at the front desk told me there was no key. I asked to talk to the postmaster. She told me he was busy and she then walked away from her post without saying a thing. I stood there for 10 minutes and she didn't return. What kind of customer service are they providing??!!! You can be the judge. Now I know why USPS is going under.... If I have a choice I will go for FedEx or UPS. read more
