Great Post Office, you usually get to see the same people working behind the counter. This office has a passport service which sometimes makes things confusing for people. Other than that they are very fast and efficient. The lines move quite fast. I'm usually in and out in approx. 10 to 15 mins. which is pretty good for a post office. read more

To be honest I like customer service there, always friendly stuff and always very helpful if u need priority, overnight or overseas, the only bad part there is the lines when people apply for US Passports it's really horrible u can stay in line for at least 30-40 minutes to send out your mail package :-/ read more

The worst post office ever! Consistently have packages missing. The packages have been from different vendors. Suspiciously, all packages that never make it to my PO Box are certain items, valued under a certain amount of money. This seems to be an ongoing issue at this post office. DON'T COME HERE WASTE OF YOUR TIME. I came here to ship out a package since it was on the way home. I came inside and it all already look dysfunctional line with workers who don't seem to know how to deal with customers. I came here to shop a package that had 1 lipstick and it was wrapped with foam and bubble wrapped. The lady told me that she couldn't take my box because of my tape and to buy their tape there but I refused and went back to my car tape it more securely. When I came back another lady told me again that they couldn't take it and it would open so I went back to my car AGAIN and taped it so more and when I came back with a new employee he said it's against their policy to have the tape I'm using. Now, I'm upset because I went back and forth thinking it need just more tape and in the end I wasted my time taping this box and being judged as if I'm shipping something completely illegal. WHEN ITS JUST 1 LIPSTICK. I called my husband and told him what happened and he told me to just not waste my time here anymore and that he will handle it. First thing I'm upset here is that the 2 ladies didn't tell me in the first place it was against their policy and now it looks like they were trying to sell THEIR TAPE AT the post office. Second, the other 2 ladies were BOT FRIENDLY AT ALL. They were rude and judgmental. The other young guy knew what he was talking about so I couldn't get upset for something he was more knowledgeable about. Other of all the post offices I've shipped my packages they've never said anything about the tape I've been using to ship out. To all the people coming here PLEASE DON'T COME. Go somewhere else, and you'll have a better chance being treated their with respect. This place has horrible parking, service and SOME bad employees. read more

great location to go to get a passport. we went on saturday, set up an appt, and there was no wait. additionally, we were able to set up this appt within 1-2 weeks, which was much better than attempting to set up a weekend appt at any other bay area post office near us read more

The lady who helped us out today for passport was mean spirited and screwed us over. I understand her job is tough and she's the only one taking care of 40 applicants. She was only supposed to help me out. I don't know why she offered to do my mom's passport if she was going to be rude and impatient with my mom. This is what happened, she did my passport. She asked my mom if she wanted her to take care of her passport also, which only needed to be mailed. My mom agreed and then she kept telling my mom to hurry up giving her seconds to react and my mom is a slow person who doesn't understand English that well. She told us she wouldn't help us because we're taking literally 10 seconds longer than her expectation and told the next person in line to come forward. My mom stood there and she had a change of heart and continued to help us but still has this negative attitude of hers. She asked if we need my mom's passport to be expedited earlier and we said no. She never asked if we wanted to ship it standard or express and just rang us up for about $24 which is the express price. I just paid and didn't ask questions because she was already in a bad mood and you have to understand we've been here for over 4 hours from 6am to 11am, so tired that we're not really thinking straight. You have to understand that my passport, there's a $25 fee mandatory, but for my mom, she doesn't have this fee and all she needs to do is pay for the shipping cost. It would have only cost my mom about $7 to have her passport shipped, that's a $17 price difference. You really sucked today lady, literally ruined my day after finding out. I hate being chumped and wasting unnecessary money on stupid things like this. Went to the post office twice with the delivery ticket to pick up a certified letter. They could not locate it inside the post office where ceriified letters are supposed to be placed/stored. Could not find its whereabouts for two days.had to call 3 times when some one who knew what he was doing tracked it down and said somehow the mail carrier dropped it in a wrong bin and It was sent to Sacramento. The mail carrier routinely deliver wrong mail to our address...?? Not sure what is going on there... read more

This is based on only one time experience. I came around 1:30pm on Friday and there were 5 employees. I got in and out in 2 minutes. The employee named Tayana was very nice and friendly. I'd definitely come back again if I'm in the area and I need postal services. read more

i want to give 2 stars because the person who assisted us in my daughter's passport processing is quick and nice though we waited there for like 3 hrs. in the line. because there is only 1 lady who process for the passport good thing ping is the one who assisted us and the lady name is ping. but if it's not for ping, i would rate over all is 1 star i might say if i can rate less than 1 i will coz most people working here is very rude!! poor customer service. terrible!! specially FILIPINA LADIES!! read more

The customer service is pretty bad. I almost never have good experience in the past 3 years when I live in Milpitas. I am OK with long line, less counter, etc. But the staffs here are not very nice. It seems that they are kind of mad at the time. If you look at their face when you are waiting, you will know what I am talking about. Seriously, I think a customer should not be service in this way. Anyway, I used to visit USPS in Sunnyvale (on Mary Ave.). Their customer service is way better than Milpitas office, even though they have a lot of customer all the time. The only good thing I could think of is that you could find parking in most of the time in Milipitas USPS. That's all. read more

One of the Asian ladies at the counter always has attitude and tries to upsell you into Express shipping (50 bucks for a package!!!). I was incredulous since this is after I specifically asked for the cheapest rate. Then I asked for Media Mail, upon which she questioned whether my box actually had books in it and threatened that they open packages and will ship back to me at my cost it wasn't actually books!!! Lastly she said they couldn't take the package because I didn't write the address at the center. Only after I came back to question the logic did she point out that they sold labels. F that. I don't know if it's her or USPS but I can't wait for them to get their funding axed. read more

I would give this location 0 stars if I could. Today my family and I decided to renew our passports after many years of it being expired. Upon arriving, we noticed two separate lines for passport services and other mailing services. We quickly lined up in the passport lane for approximately 5 minutes before this kind family ahead of us informed us that we needed to go to the front desk to "sign in". We patiently waited for someone to acknowledge us but everyone ignored our presence. Finally, this lady announced if there is anyone who has not received a passport number yet and I raised my hand. We came to her and explained how our family wants to renew our passports and how it is our very first time. She rudely informs us that we needed to sign in first and wait. There were no signs or indications telling us that there was a sign up sheet or anything. We then get our number (40) and waited by the table with other families. Around 25-30 minutes passed until our number was called and we were greeted by the same woman earlier. We once again explain to her that we would like to renew our passports and she aggressively asks for documents and forms. We asked her what forms and in an annoyed tone, she tells us that we were supposed to fill out some paperwork while waiting in line. How are we supposed to know that when no one informed us? Long story short, STEPHANIE, the postal service worker, was blatantly rude and belittling to my entire family. My mother, who cannot speak English that well, had to read this statement to her. As she attempted to read it, this woman mocked my mother's English and asked if she could even read, pronounce, and understand what she was saying. I was beyond appalled and helped my mother but that was honestly the last straw. When we finished paying the fees ($300), she gave us a receipt and pointed at a random spot telling us to write our full name and DOB. I proceeded to write down the information and give it to her and she looks at it and says angrily "you wrote this in the wrong place!" and had the audacity to glare at me. I am generally not a confrontational person and am very understanding when a worker is having a long day but this was unacceptable. I told her "you did not tell me clearly WHERE to write my name, so how am I supposed to know?". Needless to say, I will take my business to a different location. My word of advice is to retrain your employees on the basics of customer service and the importance of patience. I hope no one has to experience what happened to me and my family. read more

Easily and by far the worst post office and postal services in the Bay Area. There are mailboxes right next to my home, but I have to walk 300 yards to get my mail from a different block of mail boxes. Every time I try to speak with a postal worker I get screamed at, no matter how nice or accommodating I try to be. I regularly do not receive mail, which I assume gets delivered to another house that bears the same number on the block of mail boxes I was assigned to. And on the Christmas eve they closed at 12pm sharp leaving everyone stranded outside as they came to pick up the package that were to arrive before Christmas. I gave them one star because Yelp won't let me give them zero stars. And I am really looking forward to the day the USPS goes bankrupt, all these employees get laid off, and I never have to deal with them again. i had gone there for passport application and so based on reviews went there early at 6.30 am and found 16 people ahead of me - but that varies from day to day - so it so it is a bit of luck but was almost full by 9.30 i did like the fact that a personnel came by at 7.00 and made us write our number as that helped as they do 40 applications and some people ahead of me has 2-3 applications at 9.30 we were give possible time to come back which was around 11.30 but there were delays and was finally done by 1.30 pm Anyway she did accept the fast processing and got my passport within 2 weeks read more

Just had something to mail at this branch, as others are closed on Saturday. I had the worst experience that I have ever had at USPS. I was received by this woman named PING. She was so rude. She blamed me that I should've brought the form with all four bar codes on it, instead of handing her four boxes for scanning. Besides, there was one small popped-up tape. I asked if she could help tape that, she said no and urged me to buy the tape there and tape myself. When I was taping the box, she kept asking me to pay for the tape as she need to leave(it was around 1pm on Saturday). I asked "can't you wait for 1 sec?", she said "I can't, they don't pay me for that extra time". At last, when I asked for the receipt, she said she had given it to me and asked me to leave as they are close. Finally, I left without the receipt, but it was four boxes mailing to China, each costing $35.06 postage. USPS, the US unemployment rate is still high, I'm sure you can find better tellers. read more

I have a PO box here and have had my stuff stolen and misplaced for me without any compensation from the post office. Last year, the post office had a break-in (what kind of thief would break into a post office, anyway?). A pair of shoes that I ordered from DSW was stolen. They knew about it but refused to compensate because it was shipped without a signature on delivery. DSW was kind enough to give me a one-time credit for another pair. Fast forward, 2 weeks ago, my mom came to get mails and found a key there (if you receive a package that is bigger than your mailbox, they put it in a special lockbox for package delivery and leave a key in your box for you to retrieve). Strangely enough, my mom used the key to open the package box and it was empty. I thought it was weird but I checked my order status and my stuff was still in transit. I disregarded this. A few days later, I received updated status that my stuff had been delivered. I came to the post office and I received no key/notice in my box. That was 4 days after the package had arrived. I spoke to the supervisor who said that he would look into it and has not called me back still. Beware of opening a PO Box with the post office. Your stuff will get stolen/misplaced and don't expect any compensation to come out of it. read more

PASSPORT EXPERIENCE: If you are planning on getting your passport done, or getting it renew, make sure to come at 6 A.M. and wait in line since they only take 40 people a day. The line was out to the door by 8:30 AM! It was crazy. I was super glad that I came here at 5:45 A.M. and was the 3rd person in line. There were two person in front of me was saving spots for their family so when it was almost 9:00 AM, their family came in and cut in front of me and took my "spot". PLEASE, I beg you, do not save spots for your family. We're all trying to get our passports done, so wait in line like everyone else. First come first serve does not mean that you can let your family cut in line. When it was my turn, they called me up to the front desk and the woman (chinese, probably in her mid 25s or early 30s) that helped me was very rude and unprofessional. I asked her a few questions and she didn't gave me a clear answer. So I was like.. okay.. then I asked her if I could get my passport ID taken here and she pointed me to go to the right side. She took my picture within 5 seconds. I didn't even get to see my picture. I only caught a glimpse of it and knew I wanted to retake. Before I could ask to retake, she walked away.. I did not freaking pay $15 for a 2x2 picture of my face zoomed in with shitty lighting and quality. Very unprofessional of her. When it comes down to payment for the passport fee, she didn't allow me to use my credit card to pay because it's not allowed, but I see the other parties using their credit card to pay. My mom went here to get her passport done 3 weeks ago and she used her credit card. SO WTF? Also, she wouldn't give me the exact amount and kept rounding up the number because she's not "done" calculating. Very unprofessional. I'm not bashing at this USPS or anything, but the woman who provided service to me was very rude and unprofessional. She needs to put on a smile and be respectful to people like her co-workers (they were very nice). This will be my first and last visit to this USPS. read more

This post office is the worst! Even though it's the closest one, id rather drive the extra mile to go to the Hostteter location. They have good customer service, they smile and I have never had any issue. And it's so convenient that they have a drop off place for already paid parcels. But for this location they don't smile, they're rude, they say I have the wrong pre paid label when the Hostteter location said it's the right prepaid label. I hate writing bad reviews but my blood is boiling and I cannot let go of the bad customer service this USPS has. Don't get me wrong, individually the staff at the post office is quite nice. But helpful? HECK NO. I was to have a package delivered to my work address for something I ordered for my hubby, and it happened to be on Thanksgiving weekend, while we were closed. No biggie, because we have a slot to put the mail through and the package is small. But when I came back on Monday morning, it wasn't there and no notice was left. After talking to most of their staff and mail carriers, I discovered the package was mailed to a different address. It is not December 12, over 2 weeks, and they still have not found it! I have called every other day since November 28th, talked to every single mailman that's walked through our door, visited the post office to see if they're searching for my package and they still HAVE NOT FOUND IT! The staff tells me they're busy and that my package is not the only one they are looking for and they refuse to take down my contact information because they won't call me back! This is such poor customer service. I work in a field where I deal with clients on a daily basis and I would NEVER treat them this way. I am not a difficult person to deal with, I am very reasonable and understand that things happen sometimes. I think I deserve a better answer than, "Uhh..Ohh yea I remember you...uhh..I didn't call you back and I apologize but call back tomorrow to see if we found it." read more

The branch manager should be fired. People who needs passport service have to get there by 5am 4 hours before they open to get a number. They serve only 40 per day. While waiting only one assign to passport service while 4 to 5 other postman woman Chitchat running around. While only one support passport service, she take break without backfill. Worst service ever Gurpreet the post master is not at all helpful and seems to believe this is his private business. We went to drop off a passport renewal application at 130pm and found out that as of Jan this year they only accept 40 per day. You have to stand in line early morning if you want to get one of the 40 slots. And Gurpreet has his own formula which says that for every 10 numbers you have 2 hours to come back within. How random is that. He claims that the website has this information but that was a lie since the USPS site says nothing about this process at Milpitas. We requested the postmaster to help us since we had done this last year and there was no way for us to know that he changed the process now. He was most unwilling to help. In fact there was just one couple in front of us at 2pm and the teller named Ping took her time and made sure that their application got done exactly at 2.17pm and then told us that she was done for the day. USPS really needs to look into their service standards. No wonder they are losing money. If you don't care about service you can never make any money. read more

This is regarding their passport services. Came in at 7:50AM and the line was already long. At 9AM the employee comes out at gives out numbers to people in line (max people they serve per day is 40). I was the last one to get (#40) a number, even though I was there more than an hr early. My # was called at 1PM. So it turned out to be a 5 hrs long ordeal. Maybe more crowded than usual because of spring break. read more

For passport application, they only take 40 applications, and need to be in line before 5-6pm. If you come after 6pm, you might be too late.... post office representative only show up around 9pm and they will ask you to sign up your name and number of applications you need. They don't give us any note you need to remember. You can ask representative for estimate of time you should come back.... it is really painful, but we have to do if we apply for our kids passport... good luck! read more

Bring your own tape otherwise they charge you $3.95 for the price of tape as they "don't help you seal" the package. I unsealed a corner of my package as I forgot my packing slip and asked for tape to reseal it and they said it would cost me $3.95. To stir shit up up, the staff who was helping the other customer next to me said something unrelated in regards to my situation. Only heard him say ," I told you ... Blah blah blah" Couldnt hear what he said cos' my ear automatically filtered them. I asked for stapler to staple up the corner and they said they don't provide stapler either. Since when has USPS become UPS, who charges $2 to tape ur box up? Well I have double sided tape in my car HAH! Why didn't I back out and walk back to my car to tape my package at first place? Cos' I m so tired of how these ppl dgaf about their work attitude! I was like in yo face suckaaaa when I returned to the post office within a minute. This is by far the worst post office I have ever set foot in. We live in Milpitas, but rather than doing business here, we drive to Mountain View every day for our PO Box. When we first moved to California, a $900 check was sent to us at this post office under general delivery. I had never used general delivery before, & it was sorely needed money. After several days of being outright lied to by the staff (specifically a middle aged woman with long black hair & a very nasty demeanor), the Postmaster General went over and checked, & it turns out it had been there almost a week! An apology?? Oh no. I don't know if the staff just hate their jobs, or what the issue is, but this place is truly an atrocity. My suggestion-- stay far far away from this establishment. The woman I spoke of earlier is so nasty and evil, I truly would not put it past her to hide, burn, shred, whatever your mail if she doesn't happen to like you. Scary thought, & I will take no chances. read more

I wasn't sure of how to get a passport, so I came to the post in Milpitas. You can get your passport photos taken and fill out applications to turn in between 9am-2pm. you can also make an appointment to come in on saturdays if you don't want to stand in line. I came right before 2pm today and was able to get my picture taken and processed right away. (pics are 15.00 and bring cash) I'm taking the application home to fill out and bring back tommorow. the passport man was nice, even though he could have been mean and send me home because it was 2pm..... he took my pic. at least. read more

Terrible service. Unless you lineup early morning before 7:00 AM be ready to spend your entire day waiting. There was no mention on the website that it is preferable to show up very early in the morning. By noon they had processed only 17 out of 40 applications. If you get a number above 30 you will not get out before 1:00 PM. With some planning they could clear all forty applications within 2 hrs max. The staff is over worked and not very pleasant. The manager is obnoxious and not willing to hear your complaint. Bottom line, if you are planning to spend the day waiting for your passport go to the SF passport office. read more

This pathetic excuse for a US PO shipped my son's computer, which needed work covered under warranty, back to NY not once but TWICE. The reason? It should not have been shipped in a medium flat rate priority mail box. Never mind that the Postmaster from the Amawalk NY post office recommended this method. After numerous phone conversations with "Valerie" and requests on her part that I send photos of the returned package, I gave up and shipped the PC via UPS for a few dollars more and it reached its destination in 3 days. read more
