I think that this is a great post office. Don't pay attention to the old reviews. When ever I go here the line if any moves at a decent rate. Granted it's not the quickest,but it's still fairly quick for a US Post office. The ladies working the desk are friendly and helpful. I think that the problem is the people waiting in line are impatient. Learn how to print your labels at home and just drop off your packages. Most of the services can be done online. I can almost guarantee that there will be a line if you come to this US Post Office. Service can be a bit slow but the customer service makes up for it. I primarily come by to drop off my mail in the bins located outside whenever it has to do with anything important. This method is more secure and is super convenient for me since I am a first time mom and the bins are readily available all hours of the day. YAYYYY!! Service inside is great and I always leave this post office satisfied during the handful of times where I physically needed to go inside for assistance. THIEVES here ,,,, I'm not sure exactly who it is but there is something going on here where packages go missing. Yes, it is IMPERITIVE to get a receipt for every transaction you do here because these rats know the ropes. Also ,,, please be careful to NOT DROP OFF any packages for Fedex Ground in error, you will never know it's whereabouts and the employees here will not make any effort to help you. It's their gain for sure. I can live with the rude ladies that should have retired years ago and their bad attitude / service, but stealing and playing these games with customers is NOT good. Go-to-place if I needed small boxes and stamps. There maybe a line most of the time but it doesn't bother me since I do need their services and they do deliver. I haven't had the chance to get a grumpy employee here and it's nice to be in a room with A/C when its hot outside. So no problems with standing in line. As far as post office goes, this place is pretty good. Sure there's a wait during the holidays, but what I like is that they are open on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm, which is a life saver at times when I need stuff shipped and I can't get to the post office after work. There's the usual PO box rental available at this location. Most of the staff that I've encountered through the year have been helpful and pretty friendly. Dropped off a package at 11am on a Friday and there was NO line!! That's rare I asked for a receipt but low and behold, apparently according to the employee, Huong, starting 2017 all reciepts are now $1.30!! Ridiculous! What establishment charges for a f*cking receipt! ---- UPDATE: Clearly the whole team does NOT communicate with each other because yet another employee decided she would charge me for a receipt. FYI their supervisor, Dan, recently declared all receipts of drop offs are now free, unless they are on the behalf of eBay. If the employee says otherwise, ask to speak to Dan. TLDR: all receipts as proof of drops are free, unless they are for eBay. UPDATE: According to Hng they now officially charge $1.30 for a receipt of drop off... -------- UPDATE: Dropped off a package at 3:30pm on a Thursday. No lines and I didn't even have to ask for a receipt of drop off. They just handed it to me, free of charge! If they keep giving receipts for free they may earn a couple of more stars! read more

This is the second post office by my house, and while it's not the closet one, it's the one where my mail goes to and ships from. A two day delivery came in late so my local mail man didn't deliver it, so I had to make the journey here after making a phone call to make sure my package was there. It was, and they put it in the side for me. It's a smaller location, but that's fine as that normally means shorter wait times. When I got to the counter, the guy started to give me attitude as if I didn't know what I was talking about, until I told him I had already called in ahead. Not sure what his deal was. Got my package, and left, but the experience really left a bit to be desired. The stereotype of upset government employee is becoming more real with each passing day. read more

In a perfect world this place would not be run by a bunch of rude, lazy, and inattentive middle-aged Asian women who try their best to do the least amount of work and speak to most customers as if they are being bothered by them. Well this isn't a perfect world. My experiences are so inconsistent that my head spins around just thinking about it. Sometimes I will go in with no problems whatsoever and I'll leave happy. (I ship a lot of things) But, most of the time (85%) I'll end up having the pleasure (yeah right) of meeting a rude and condescending woman that tells me the method of shipping that I've been using was wrong (the last 5 times???) and that I need to use a box instead (for a sweatshirt I'm selling???) and charged me an extra 60cents because of "a weight difference" and snickered at me when I questioned it?! After all the subtle passive aggressive arguments I finally realized she just didn't want to do all of the work of taping the envelope SOME of the other ladies just do for you and be on their way. I WOULDN'T GO HERE IF IT WASN'T SO CLOSE TO ME. SO I JUST HAVE TO BITE MY TONGUE EVERY TIME. read more

I don't entirely dislike this post office, but I also don't like it much either. They have ok hours, closed at 2 pm on Saturdays and usually a fat line out of the door for everything from money grams and money orders to not knowing where to affix a stamp on a package. They do take care to answer everyone's questions but they can sometimes be very impatient and send you to the back of the line or not make it easy for you to just fix what was needed and come back after already having waited in line for 15 min. I've worked two minutes from this place for 15 years now. They're my go-to place for mailing out packages, any postal questions, etc as I can just walk right over there. Kind of an older building, definitely not the prettiest post office I've been in. The ladies there are all nice, helpful and always smiling. They're the best part! Waits are terrible, which I can understand. However, this is for the experience of me picking up a package after being gone on vacation and having my mail sent to the post office instead. I came to pick it up, knocked on the door/rang the doorbell, and I CLEARLY heard people walking and talking behind the door, but was ignored. Maybe it was an odd hour? I remember checking the hours, but even if I was wrong, someone behind the pickup door could have explained rather than whispering behind the door. Everytime I get my expected delivery date for a package I stay downstairs till it arrives (medicinal supplies) and everytime it goes through USPS I get this stupid note saying we missed you. This office has some very friendly people working the counter, but the delivery system is a complete mess. Hopefully this review will alert the post office of the issues and prevent future headaches. --- My package's USPS online tracking said it had been delivered on Saturday to my door and "left with an individual." However, I never actually received it, so I called the post office Monday morning and asked about it. The lady who picked up did some digging, and informed me that the package associated with my tracking number had the incorrect address on it (let's call this address X), and that there had been some confusion during delivery because address X apparently does not exist. She said she'd call me back. A day later I hadn't heard back, so I called again and she told me the same thing, that the package had had an incorrect/nonexistent address on it, and she told me that I'd have to contact the sender and ask them to resend it. The next morning I called back again, and this time a gentleman picked up. He looked into the issue for me, and lo and behold, he found my package at the post office and told me to come pick it up. And guess what. THE PACKAGE HAD MY CORRECT ADDRESS ON IT, clear as day. I don't know how or where the delivery guys got "address X" but it certainly wasn't on my package. FYI this is not the first time something like this has happened to us. Our packages are constantly being dropped off at the wrong address, resulting in our neighbors having to deliver our packages to us. This is our assigned post office, but this is not the closest post office for us though. And this is the only post office which is open on Sat in our area. The lady in the counter I think her name is Fina, who was really helpful to us as well as we saw her helping others as well. Also I packed everything in a box from home but forgot to seal / tape it. US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - San Jose, California

The main problem with this post office has to do with package delivery. The mail carrier never leaves a package so I have to go retrieve it which is a pain since they close before I get off work. The next day I take time off from work to get the package. The clerk at the pickup door waits an average of 15 minutes to answer the bell then tells me they have not 'processed' it yet. This I do not understand because they tried to deliver it the day prior. The carrier always gets the dates wrong on the delivery slip which causes them to not even look for the package. So I have to take more time off on the third day. So far I have found them to be stubborn, rude, unhelpful, lazy, illiterate, unable to reason and curt. There are several post offices in the area that are much nicer to interact with, but my packages go here. UPDATE: Added a star because I actually had a good experience getting a package. Amazingly, they had the package and was willing to let me have it. They answered the door quickly, and politely. I was shocked. read more

Been to this post office 8 times over the course of 6 months. I recently noticed their low reviews here on yelp and felt that I have to weigh in! The first time I came here was when my change of address screwed up all my packages being delivered to our new address. The notice that they left asked me to come to this branch to just pick up all my packages. When I got here, it was really crowded - even though they were busy as f*ck they still managed to help me locate all my packages (I had 5 pick up slips, 9 packages...I know, I know). The last time I was there, 2 weeks ago, was to ship something out. I had been sick and my mind must have been a little cloudy because I grabbed a flat rate priority mail box for something super tiny. The woman ringing me up caught this and told me about it, how the flat rate was going to cost me $7 more than I should be paying. She then went and helped me locate the correct box, gave me tape, and helped me get it repackaged! All the times I have been here I've noticed that there are always the same 3 people working and there are TONS of people in line. I think this small branch gets bombarded with tons of customers daily, I've tried all different times of the day and its always the same. Honestly, I have never seen any of the employees here be rude to anyone they've helped. Perhaps its an operational issue that gets everyone so upset with them but in in case they definitely need more hands on deck. All I can say is that if you come to this branch be patient if you have to wait in line and ask questions to the person that is helping you if you need to - they've always been helpful for me :) read more

Mountain View on Hope St. (Turtle award) - Whether customers buy stamps or ship packages, expect 3-5 minutes per customer. Santa Clara on 1200 Franklin Mall (Xtasy award) - Most energetic & happiest post office staff in the Bay Area! San Jose on 70 S. Jackson (Road Runner award) - they operate at DSL speed San Jose on 1750 Lundy (Time Square award) - Most traffiked post office in the Bay Area...even when there are no one inside San Jose at Junction (Biggest Parking Lot award) - Unless you drive a 18 wheeler, there is no need to visit this post office. read more

This is my favorite and usual postal offices to go to, here's why: 1. The staff-Chi and one other staff were extremely friendly and nice. e.g. when I did not tape my box correctly, they helped me 2. There is one staff member (will leave unnamed), who is not as friendly. -1 star 3. Customers: when waiting in line, you see the customers getting to know each other. They're friendly and nice 4. parking-parking is great 5. Location & time-location is easy to find, street not too busy. We've just found out that they close at 2 PM on Saturdays instead of 1 PM. This location provides the worst service EVER. I always run into problems when I come here. The "Senior" associate Maribel is rude and snobby (for no apparent reason) and I observed her interactions with a customer right before me (also bossy and rude). She was snappy and showed no enthusiasm whatsoever, I would think that in this economy you should be humble enough to be grateful for even having a job, I know I am! She talks to you like you are just another number and her attitude needs an update. I can understand if there is a line and you are in a hurry to get me in and out but there was only 1 person behind me and he was still packaging his shipment! First off she said the box I used was wrong (but it was given to me by another local Post Office, but ok fine) then she said that the postage I am using is outdated (I have these stamps dated as of 5/7/13 yesterday only!) and she repeatedly told me that you have to use it the "same day" when in fact I have used the stamps 3 or 4 days past the stamped date in another Post office. On top of that, horrible traffic from after school hours since it is located right by a high school almost got a bunch of people into an accident. read more

This location has terrible service. The front desk people could care less what my problem was for being there, all they seemed to care about was selling their first class service and stamps.....REALLY? So I came there because I had originally put in a change of address request via on line for "individual"' but my sister's mails were also delivered to my new address. When I got to the post office and told them what had happen and wanting to fix the problem, they asked me to wait. All I wanted to do was for them to correct the problem. After a 20 minute wait, I asked the lady if I could leave my phone number so they could get back to me since I could no longer wait. Leaving my number was a breeze, but the problem was, no one ever returned my call. I finally called them after a few days. The lady on the phone was worst then those I dealt with when I was in the office. She was rude, insensitive, and had selective listening. Throughout the whole conversation, she insisted I put my request in person, that I signed for it, and that I marked "family" and not "individual". Not once did she attempt to apologize for the inconvenient. The funny part was, I hadn't been to that or any other post office since forever. To make a very long story short, she was no help at all. Looks like I will have to make another trip to the post office to put in a new request after already putting in one and also paid a fee for that service. For those who still have to go there for services, as long as your service involves giving them our money then you're probably ok, but if your service requires them fixing an issue, I wish you lots of luck. read more

At first when I got there, there was 12 people in line and only one clerk. Apparently, one was doing pick-ups only. (Thank goodness!) I would have estimated atleast 30 minutes in that line to pick up two parcels. Their pickup hours are supposedly only 5-6pm, I was there around 4ish. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you live a minute away. I would go to a main post office or a bigger location so that you don't waste any time! read more

First of all, so close to my location (just 3 min?) and they open on Saturday until 2pm it's so helpful for me because the others are closed on Saturday or open just by 12pm. I will have to say I have been coming to this location for sometime now, since I grew up in this area, and before there was UPS Stores and other locations to drop off mail, or even pay for things online, this was a good place to drop off your bill, send Christmas cards, and do what is needed to send letters out. Over time this place has shown it's age, but you know something the staff is still friendly, and I am sure they put up with a lot of negative stuff from customers throughout the day. Again, this is a good place to drop off or mail something and since I do from time to time have to do that, this place will get you in and out quickly.
