If I could give no stars I would, turns out that customer service is no longer found at this location. I went to the counter to return a package, the place was completely empty with the employee standing around. She went to help me looking extremely annoyed. After she helps me she proceeds to tell me they have a kiosk I can use since sometimes they are doing other things. I typically go to another location and have never had a problem with an associate who is at work and not busy take the time (5min or less) to help me. Never visiting this location again. I see why it's rated so low. read more

This is a great U.S.P.S. location given typically the lines and friendly service. When you post things through this substation, be ready to wait a while as this post office is typically quite active and with lots of customers. Adjacent to the office is a passport renewal location with lots of people there also. I find it a good location to post an occasional letter or packet and to purchase stamps and materials. The shopping center is right there, too -- an extra convenience. read more

Living in downtown San Jose, I don't understand why this post office located in East San Jose is my branch. When I go out of town, I always stop the mail. I fill out a yellow form to give to someone to stop my mail on a certain date and yet they seem not to stop the mail on time. I usually stop the mail 2 days before I leave town just to make sure they stop it on the date I request it; and it's worked. However, coming back home from vacation, I always find a bunch of mail in my mailbox; and yet when I go back to pick up the rest of the hold mail, I always have to bring this issue up and confront the employees about this and they always have the same excuse, saying that they have different mail carriers working different days in my area, and the mail carrier working that one day didn't see the notice. Come on, really!!! What's the real reason why they can't seem to hold my vacation hold mail from the start date to finish date. I hate to write bad reviews but the staff working in the back part of the post office need to get it together and do their jobs making sure that the vacation hold notice is visible for the carriers to see and not bring anything to my house until I return and pick up my hold mail. read more

I've had such a negative experience with a mail carrier from this office. I have him on surveillance destroying mail then eventually not leaving it. Our neighbors have to constantly give each other the mail because he doesn't deliver it to the correct address. I've called 20 times today and every time I've been hung up on! The BEST USPS experience I've had! I came in today (Friday) around 11:30am, only one person ahead of me in line and I was helped within 2 minutes. The lady who helped me was SO sweet and made it SO easy. I needed to send a package to Finland, so she gave me the customs sheet to fill out, which I was surprised was literally just filling out addresses and signing. I was in and out in probably 10 minutes tops. The other lady working was also super friendly and laughing, it was a very comfortable experience. I've always used the post office in Santa Clara my entire life since I lived right by it, with grumpy workers, annoyed customers, looooong lines, and 0 parking (the Santa Clara lot is literally half the size so cars will be lined ON THE STREET). This place was clean and neat and the workers were so happy! I've just found my new post office. Yay! read more

This United States Postal Service office is located on story road near Home Depot. This small post office provides the usual things that a post office provides. Stamps, packaging materials, mailboxes, and drop off boxes are available. Oh yes, they even have life postal clerks which don't go postal on you. Every time I've been to this post office I've never had to wait more than three or four minutes. That's a big advantage over other post offices in the area. I like the people who work here because they are polite and they seem to know what they're doing. As I'm writing this review, I realize that Christmas is upon us in the very near future. I think this will be the post office that I use to mail off my packages this Christmas season. When you go bias post office to try it out, tell them Karen sent you. Horrible post office and workers. Every time someone sends me a certified letter or package, I have problems receiving it. We have drive up mailboxes. But when something doesn't fit in the box or requires a signature, they are supposed to get out of the truck and come to the door. Our carrier does not. Instead he automatically leaves the "sorry we missed you" slip IN THE DRIVE UP MAILBOX. You didn't miss me, you didn't come to the door to get my signature. The first time this happened, I went to the post office the next day and waited for them to open so I could get my package. They couldn't find it. Come to find out the carrier hadn't returned the mail at the end of the day like they are supposed to! I think he took the truck home the night before. They had to call a supervisor who had a hard time tracking his employee down. Finally gave me the location to the truck and phone number for the carrier. We drove to the truck and carrier was no where in sight. When we called him, his response was literally, "Oh well you just have to wait for me to get back to my truck." This time I wanted to avoid that scenario. I went online and filled out the redelivery form, waited all day, and he still didn't deliver their certified letter. He delivered all the other mail but didn't attempt to deliver the certified letter?! read more

USPS is going down for a reason. Poor service, lousy employees who are incredibly dumb and incapable, and on top of that hate their jobs. Incredible frustration with package delivery is the norm. I opt to ship with Fedex although it costs more for the piece of mind and getting the service I pay for. Sorry I have no sympathy for USPS and can see the day they are history. This USPS location is so unorganized that their people cannot tell the difference between a package that's delivered versus ones that are NOT delivered. I've had packages that are said to be delivered but is nowhere to be found. But miraculously their system always shows as "delivered" except the recipient NEVER got them. Some packages are said to be delivered in the mailboxes, but show up in front door. Some packages are said to be delivered in the front door but are actually in the mailboxes. Some packages were not delivered at all and no notes on where/when to get it but is noted in their system that instructions was left for the recipient. I've had packages that I personally had shipped out of this location but miraculously got lost once it was in their possession. read more

Yipeeee! I new post office closer to home and ever so conveniently located near the 680 highway! I can drop off packages on my way to work without any inconvenience at all. Great! No more driving a few more miles out of my way for a post office! I had a good experience here today. I had a package that wouldn't fit in the mailbox so I had to go inside to drop it off. As I was approaching the door, I could see one of the clerks locking the door. I quickly looked at my phone to see the time and it was already five minutes past two o'clock. I spoke to him through the door and asked "May I come in to drop off this package?". He nodded and opened the door for me to come inside. Received a notice from them that they missed me for delivery and that my package was available for pick up after 7AM on 10/11, bullshit. My mail with a tracking number got lost in this station. They reported it as "delivered" on usps.com but it was not! The worst part of it is that the supervisor of this station, Mr. Amritpal Singh is a liar - I make this conclusion after having been trying to reach him by phone and address the problem on my lost mail for 4+ weeks now. The mail is important - it sent by a governmental agency and contains documents. So I called to that USPS station a number of times in the last weeks and have reached Amritpal Singh 4 times. Each time he asked for my name and phone number and assures me that he would talk with the carrier and call me back. He never does. Next time I reach him and it starts all over again. I wonder if there is any way to make those governmental companies do their job at all. Or they gonna suck forever and employ all irresponsible and unprofessional trash from labor market? it may sound abrupt but I am really stunned with that level of couldn't-care-less attitude. read more

If I never missed the mailman, I would have never known about this post office. The mailman left me a note saying that my package will be available for pick up at the FOOTHILL STATION. I was like dang ain't that far what my package doing all the way there?? After googling it on my phone, it turned out not to be as far as I had anticipated. It took me a few minutes to find this post office. I'm always on Capitol and I'm always on Story, but I've never seen a USPS??? I went towards the right on McGinness but my phone said I way passed it. So I went to the other way and saw a USPS truck so I was like it must be there! I found it at last. Wow. It looked brand new! I went inside and luckily there was only one person in front of me. The wait wasn't too bad but you know how it is. Post offices always take helllllllllllla long. There are only 3 windows at this station. At this time, there were only 2 workers working. It didn't take long for the line to become long. I came at a good time cuz I wasn't tryna wait. The inside is definitely new and you could still smell the new wood. I really liked the feeling of a brand spanking new post office cuz it was hella clean and the SMELL. Yeah the smell of clean. Since I didn't wait too long, I am definitely a fan. However, if I came any later, I would have probably waited hella long since this post office is hella small and there are only 3 windows, plus who knows how many workers will actually be working next time? Next time it may even be one. Oh yeah and they have a small clearance section where you could get your mailing goods for 50% off. I didn't check to see if they have mailbox rentals. read more

This post office is so small. Only two stations!? Even though it is closer to our new place dunno if I would come here when on a tight schedule. I came on a normal Tues. at 2pm and it was jammed packed with a line out the door!?? Didn't get done and out until nearly 3pm. However the staff if very helpful and definitely was doing their best to move the line. Although the parking is also a nightmare b/c of the awkward shape and size. read more

Walk in with two other people in line, get to the front of the line to pick up my order.. wait 20 minutes, at this point there are roughly 20 people in line; only for another employee to walk by and comment "wow big line" then walk away. This is the most pathetic apology for a post office I have ever seen. They are our local branch and we are always sent here for certified letters etc. Last Friday the carrier was too lazy to wait for someone to come to the door, so she left a note saying that she could not deliver a certified letter. Nest day we ambushed the carrier. " Oh it's at McGinness ". Monday I go down there and they can't find the certified letter. They lost it! So today, Wednesday I get a new notice saying they have it at McGinness. I go down there and they tell me it's still lost. Then why did the carrier leave a notice to pick it up at McGinness ? " Oh we're sorry sir ". So lame. The worst. And because they're government employees, nothing will change. read more

my local post office. i used to go to the one on jackson, but it's closed now due to budget cuts. i have the WORST postman. my paychecks kept getting sent "return to sender, address does not exist". i live in a clearly marked house (address is on the front of the garage, right on the street) that has had the same address since 1930. he writes me letters about my "dangerous dog". im not sure how a puppy that does not bark or jump, and is behind a 6 foot fence is any danger to him. the mailbox is on the garage, and their is no reason for him to enter my locked fence. the letters he writes don't even have my correct address or the correct color description of my dog, but no other close neighbors have a similar dog, so i know he's describing mine. we went to the post office to talk to the manager several times about the returned letters and the the dog notices. the manager was very helpful and said that he would talk to our postman. he confirmed that our address exists. he also was very unhappy that our postman has been giving us dangerous dog warnings, as he has not reported them to the headquarters, which is against post office policy. we even confronted our mailman, who denied that he wrote the letters. it was clearly a lie, as he made other comments to show that he was afraid of the dog. our weekend postman also confirmed that it was our regular postman falling down on the job. a further complaint is that we have received several notices of packages to pick up at the post office. each time we only received one note, when i know it is policy to leave 3. we also relatively regularly receive mail for other houses. often these are court or bank documents, which are pretty important things to send to the right address. do mailmen have tenure? i wish they would fire this incompetent jerk. read more

The absolute WORST! Besides the parking lot being way too small, service in general is terrible. Whenever I drop packages here they don't start tracking until very late at night/early morning. Recently I dropped 3 packages off on a Friday afternoon. 2 of them started tracking Saturday (fine I guess) and the other package not until Monday night! Not acceptable! I work from home and same or next day shipping is expected. My package should have been delivered the day they shipped it...I assume it was lost/overlooked once in their possession. The postman just left a notice that they have tried to deliver a package and I wasn't home and I was watching him doing this when I was at home. He was lazy enough to hesitate to get out of his small truck and knock my door. Unbelievable and unacceptable behavior! I drove back to USPS office for the package to pick it up and it wasn't there the postman did not unload it from his truck. I was told it will re-delivered next day. Fast forward, after 3 days no package, I called the office and the told me that the package is in the office and they'll make sure it's delivered next day. Next day (today) - mail delivered, no sign of the package. Called the office - postman "forgot" to pout it in his truck and they can only re-deliver it on Monday (2 days later) because the office is already closed for the weekend.
