Post offices don't get much love these days but here I am about to spread some love. I come in here a few times a month to ship packages out. Call me easy but I've never had a bad experience here. Customers are always holding the door open for me as they are on their way out (or in). Yes, there is a wait at times because people are always here BUT, all of the associates I've dealt with have been kind and helpful-- Some have even gone so far as to compliment me on one of my Spiritual Gangster sweatshirts or my jewelry. I've never noticed this before but you can get gift cards here! Everything from Southwest Airlines, Panera Bread, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Nordstrom's, Cheesecake Factory, plain regular Visa GC's and so much more. (Do I sound like a commercial now?) You get the point. If you need a last minute gift then you can find that gift card here. And if you're waiting in line, do some good and wish someone well. Make eye contact and smile. Because couldn't we use a little more kindness in our lives? read more

Everything about this post office was poor quality. Go to any other post office to get better service. Very slow.

I waited in line and talked with an older gentlemen in front of me, both of us needed larger USPS boxes because the lobby did not have any left. I went up to a clerk named Steve Nhan. I asked for a larger USPS box because the shelves that usually had them were empty. He handed me a USPS box that did not have the self sealing tape that I usually need. I asked him for some tape, He told me the USPS doesn't give out any tape. I found this funny since I have asked for tape in the past and it was never an issue. I only asked once in the past and I have mailed out hundreds of packages in my lifetime. I look over and the gentleman in front of me was given USPS tape to wrap his box up. I told Steve Nhan why was this gentlemen allowed to get tape and I wasn't. Steve look confused and lost for a few seconds before he yelled over to his female co worker that she was not suppose to give out tape. This got me annoyed and I told Steve Nhan that he should stop being a jerk and be more like his fellow co worker and show some compassion. I then told him I would wait for the older gentlemen to finish and I would use the tape. Steve Nhan then got upset and told me I would not be able to use the tape. I asked him why not when this other gentlemen here was already using it. He said I was not allowed, I told him to get me someone who has the authority to tell me I couldn't use the tape. Steve Nhan went back into the office, took quite a bit of time telling his superiors what happened and someone came out and said his name was Don Nguyen the supervisor. I told Don Nguyen what happened and he said it was the store policy not to give out tape unless it was for small packages. I pointed over to the older gentlemen using the tape and I asked Don Nguyen to explain why someone else was allowed to use it on the same exact box I was going to use as well. He just shrugged me off refusing to go over and take a look and said I was not going to get any tape. I was pretty surprised how rude and dismissive Don Nguyen was. It was like he made up his mind about me after speaking with Steve. I did not understand how one worker can show compassion while other workers here at this location lack any good morals. I then asked for the supervisor's name and the clerk who helped me. I was given the name Steve (without a last name) I told Don Nguyen to not with hold Steve's last name and give it to me. He paused for a good minute before he reluctantly wrote it down. It seems to me they protect each other here at this office. As of this writing I'm not even sure if they supplied me their true names. I am not writing this review because I needed tape, but it is because of the ridiculous double standards the employees here have. Steve nhan and Don nguyen went out of there way not to help a customer. While a female employee did the simple thing and help a customer by offering tape. It is a shame Steve Nhan and Don nguyen are allowed to serve the community in this manner. They should be ashamed of their egos and bad attitude. I commend the asian lady who helped the older gentlemen have use of her tape and I hope she does not get in trouble because of my review. We already live in a stressful world but people like Don Nguyen and Steve Nhan don't even deserve to work for the USPS, they have no idea what it takes to be a true American and watch out for one another. read more

This location dramatically improved after Maria, the former manager, retired. Night and day on how the place is ran. Much better improvements. The staff tries their best to serve us as efficiently as possible. They got better staffing with great customer service. I noticed they are very patient non-native English speakers. read more

Worst customer service ever. Staff needs to be better trained and equipped with more knowledge, as well as learn how to multi-task. I went in a few days ago to confirm that they sell money orders there on behalf of a family member. There was only one associate there, Flora, who just called up a customer and I asked her if they do money orders there and she said yes. I asked for a price and she told me to get in line because she was with a customer. I said I only wanted a price and it would only take a few seconds and she said that it doesn't and asked me to stand in line once again behind 5 other people. Once it was my turn, I asked her again what the price of a money order is there. She replied with something along the lines of "it depends on the amount you're buying." I took that as they have a different price for different amounts on the actual money order. Like, it's $2 for a $500 money order and then $4 for a $1000 one. So I just randomly gave her an amount of $300 and she had to enter it into the computer and said that the total would be $301.65. Uhhh, so I asked her if the money order is $1.65 and she didn't seem sure. So I asked her to check for $500 and sure enough it'd be $501.65. This explains why she wasn't able to answer my super simple question of the price because apparently she likes to make her own job more complicated than it should be. read more

This post office is just useless. I was expecting an international package requiring me to sign. That's fine, it's just my house is gated and hidden from the street so I was expecting a attempt at deliver slip. 10/2 - got my first attempt. I promptly signed the slip, placed it in the outbox of my mailbox, and scheduled online for it to be redelivered the next day (10/3) 10/3- no redelivery happened and slip wasn't picked up. So I scheduled another redelivery for 10/4. 10/4- still no redelivery and slip was never picked up. This was Friday, and I was going out of town for the weekend so I assumed this post office would eventually get their sh** together and redeliver it sometime. So long as I left a signed slip in my outgoing mail slot, by USPS guidelines, that was sufficient to leave the package there. 10/7 - I come back from my trip and STILL NO DELIVERY. In fact, the tracking notifies me it's been shipped back to Los Angeles to be returned to sender. I was fuming. I filed a missing mail search, which is what the woman at the post office told me to do. 10/8 - just waiting for any update (I mean you'd think the post office would notify you if they have your package) 10/9 -get an email from the this post office's manager (see photo) staying they will be searching for my mail. 10/10- after work around 6:30 pm I get a notification that my package is in San Jose. Trust me I signed up as many contact emails I could (if they had text alerts I would have signed up too). I jump up and down thrilled. Them when I check tracking, it states that it's back in San Francisco. WTF. I filed a redelivery immediately. I got confirmation. 10-11 - now the system is updated to "unclaimed". If you look at the photo, basically it was unclaimed even BEFORE it actually arrived. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I have no words. As I said, this post office is just f***king useless. It's like my package never stood a chance against the uselessness of the incompetent employees here. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I had such a bad experience!! First of all I am SOOO SORRY I put my address incorrectly and made the post office had to do extra work for them to get my package from the "send back to sender" pile. Again my mistake, but let me tell you what happen. When I walked in there was the longest line ever but I had a smile on my face so they didn't feel rushed. I was not in a hurry just wanted my package before it went back to the sender. When I got up to the line I said "Hii I'm here to pick up a package.. it was suppose to be delivered yesterday but the mailman brought it back" and she told me "We don't have your package.." ummm okay.... Keep in mind I called 10 times!!! Before I could actually get someone on the line and they told me yes my package is there and I can come get it before 5. THATS THE ONLY reason why I showed up bc they told me I could get it, if they said I couldn't and it was too late then I would've understood and reordered what I have ordered. Anyways after I told her I just called, she sent me to someone else to help me because she didn't know what she was doing.. CLEARLy still training.. Once another person helped me, he first told me he couldn't find it because the system is "down"... so I offered to help them since I wasn't in a rush and just wanted my package... I didn't drive all the way over here for nothing. I called. You said I could get it. (THEY ARE HIRING BTW) Finally once he gave me my package he was pointing very aggressively at my address telling me it was incorrect and I said yes I know I am sooo sorry for that!! And he rolled his eyes and shoo'ed me away... I laughed a little because I've never had someone be that rude to me WHILE they are working... so unprofessional coming from a 22 year old. At least I know better and teaching the younger generation to cope with their emotions and not let out any anger on any people. That's such a bad trait to have and I hope the people at the post office try to self reflect and try to handle their problems behind closed doors. It's nobody's fault you chose that career.. This place has *some* rude service people that have no respect for customers. The one GOOD customer service person is the lady that wears a scarf on her head. Standing in line yesterday, and I witnessed the below. The general observation is that the workers there look miserable/unhappy. There is an almost bald service person with the "Alex" name tag. Very rude and demeaning to a customer when the customer asked if the overpaid postage using USPS online service would be partially refunded. There is a service with a full-beard, who seems to be a lead service person or manager. He acted very demeaning and impatient to senior citizen customers. read more

My very important license certificate was bent and squeezed into my mailbox even though the envelope clearly states "handle with care, do not crease". It only takes a few minutes to walk it up to my door. Absolutely unacceptable. Nobody even picks up the phone here. read more

I was sending a package internationally, and had no idea what the process was or how much it would cost. The staff was very helpful and made suggestions for the cheapest option for me. I was able to wrap and seal my package same day in the post office and got my receipt with tracking very efficiently. It was a great experience and it's all thanks to the friendly, knowledgeable, and funny staff working behind the counter. read more

It's nice that this area has a full service post office, but they are pretty slow when it comes to most of their services offered. They keep the lines moving fairly quickly when simple transactions are occurring, but when you need to pick up a package or inquire about lost items or even compare rates, they take their sweet time. I know they are government employees, so they don't really care about customers all that much, but at least if they are gonna waste everyone's time, they might as well hide in the back and pretend like they are working. read more

This post office has saved my packages on more than one occasion. I have visited other sites and received horrible service with no knowledge of shipping procedures. I regularly ship to Australia and had a package returned, this post office fixed the mistake and explained what happened so it doesn't happen again. My most recent visit, Albert and Harvinder were super friendly and helpful. I don't think I've experienced a friendlier and more knowledgeable USPS worker than Albert. read more

Guy working the front desk is horrible. He made us pay $6 for a stamp. When we were trying to ship international to Mexico. He has no experience what so ever does not know what he's doing AT All. Parking can be difficult at this location and the area is usually crowded as well. Most of my packages end up at this post office for pick up, which is unfortunate because the location is old, slow and small. There's always a line, which means a wait. I came here for a pick up and the line didn't move for 5 minutes, the 3 cashiers talking away to their customers. Speed is definitely not a characteristic here. After 5-10 minutes standing in the same spot, a cashier asked for pick ups or drop offs to come to her. I eventually got my package and was on my way out. Workers here work at their own pace. This Office always LATE and LIES. Doesn't matter what Services you choose. They talk to you like a kid. For example, i notified to the Receptionist that Pakage will be delivery on what day and time Office Lunch hour start from 1pm, but someone always seat there for Patient. This place has the WORST service. The lady at the counter, Maria, has the worst attitude. She made comments like "this is my job, I know what I'm doing," and "I told you to do this already." I heard her bad talking a customer when he didn't fill something out correctly. Working with the post office can be tricky and sometimes confusing especially when it comes to customs and large packaging. A little patience and empathy goes a long way. This post office is a DISAPPOINTMENT for this MAIN reason (-100 STARS): My brother and I shipped a priority mail package to this location that was to be picked up by our sister in this post office. She got a notification that the package had arrived & was ready for pick-up. Unfortunately our sister had to work a full shift and could not pick-up ASAP. She was to pick it up the next business day & TA-DA the package went MISSING. Hmm... STRANGE given that it was there a few hours prior SO... they have thieves in this post office!!! The worst thing was that this package was for our 11 year old nephew as an elementary school culminating gift. We filed a claim to let them know that someone in this facility stole the package & they refunded $50 for a +$500 game system, ugh UNBELIEVABLE!!! Junk service attitude, I wrote the wrong address for shopping on Amazon, and then I called the post office and no one answered the phone. I contacted the merchant and called the post office and asked him to keep the goods for me to pick up. After I went there for a while, I said not here While asking me to go to the other side, I went over there and said that it was here, but the printed list proved to me at this post office. This side said no, saying that it hasn't arrived yet, so I gave her the list and kept it. When I got off the phone, I said that I would keep the goods for me to pick up. Don't count on these guys to do their job. I never had a good experience with USPS. Terrible, rude customer service and packages literally never arrive on time. I usually order packages on amazon, and the day it's out for delivery, they will always mark them as delivered even though it never reached my doorsteps. These guys just scan packages as delivered even when they're not delivered to keep their rates up. Absolutely useless, would rate -5 stars if I had the option. Will be filing a formal complaint against these guys soon. read more

Damn! What a bad USPS location! This is not my usual Post Office but I happened to be in San Jose yesterday a Saturday afternoon so I paid a visit here to drop off some packages. I was thinking it would be a quick visit and I'd be in and out... wrong! Hella long line for a weekend and the line was not moving at all it went out the door and we were standing in line for about a good 30-45min. 3 times bad experience here! Every time i bring in a Package, they never take it, they always nit pick the tiniest mistakes in the packaging and send me back, or say that it will cost more than what it should, then i took the same Package to other post office, and they just take it without giving me any hard time like the people at the alvin post office and charge the regular price. I brought the package to this post office again to find out the reason. Even though it showed very clearly on my package that To: USCIS LockBox, the lady was so rude and ridiculous as said that "We don't know, it's set up that From on top and To at the bottom, the scan system read it, not us". I dropped a letter in the mailbox in front of the post office, but it was lost and never delivered to the recipient. I submitted a search request and sought help from the post office employee. What I get is the unprofessionalism and irresponsibility of the people who work here. You will be treated as a liar if you do not have a tracking number or receipt. And they see me as a liar. They said many people said they sent letters, but they did not. I told them I didn't need to know what other people were like. But in my case, I'm 100% sure I sent that letter. They talked to their customers like a criminal, they told me why I didn't confirm with the recipient, why I had to send first class mail, and why I didn't send priority mail or something like that. It was the questions of why it was unprofessional and irresponsible. If I had another choice, I believed I would never use USPS. read more
