Worst service ever! They need a new supervisor. I've been waiting on a package for 2 weeks and they returned it to the shipper because of insufficient address. I got a hold of the shipper and they confirmed that my address was correct. It was a package for my husband and so I used his name. The supervisor then asked me, "Your name isn't on the package, right?" I never told her the package is under my husband's name. She then said there was nothing they can do about the package because it was already sent back to the shipper. So I left and tried to track my package down again. They sent it to the shipper an hour after I left the post office. She lied to me. I spent so much money on that package... it was a gift for my husband. Waste of time! read more

Really rude employees! A woman with short black/brown hair with glasses maybe in her 50s or 60s (Filipino?) was livid when I asked her if I could pick up a package early that was supposed to be delivered to my house. I got an email that was delivered to that location and my address changed so I wanted to make sure that I received my package since it cost over $100 and this place has a history of losing packages. The worst post office in Silicon Valley. They try their best to be rude, extremely slow and don't care. Even the supervisor guy tried to sell me used packing tape even if the box is secured taped. Slow as hell and rip off customers. More than anything, why these people have all serious face and nobody wants to answer simple question? Where is my mail?????? I just rang Milpitas Post Office and no one picked up. I ordered redelivery of a parcel online and pasted the notice on my door. On the same day, someone stuff another notice which says the parcel will be returned after a certain date. Fine, maybe they haven't checked the web notice. On the second day (which was the day I scheduled for redelivery), I was at home the WHOLE day and nobody came AT ALL. Now I am rushing to their office before they mess up the delivery again. Really pissed off. Btw, I often find my neighbors' mails in my mail box. Once they even accidentally slipped a small parcel in my garden. I guess my neighbors sometimes got my mails too. The USPS customer service (phone) is good and responsive. But they don't seem to know what this branch is doing/thinking. read more

This post office is really hit or miss. Some days there will be a line out of the door and it will take forever just to make it to the counter. Other times, like today, you can just walk right up to the counter and get helped right away. I guess it just depends on the time and day of the week... I do have to hand it to this post office that the employees here are usually very friendly and helpful. I have never felt mistreated at this branch, like at others. read more

Overall, this office does fairly well. It's very busy most of the time, but they are fast at getting mail out to my house. I wish they still had stamp vending machines, but I guess since I receive much more mail than I send, it's not too much hassle. Occasionally, registered mail is just left with a notice and no knock on the door, but that's probably because they use the doorbell, which doesn't work very well. I think they do a good job with what they have, and their geophysical location is awesome. I think too many nay sayers post who are disgruntled about things that individual postal workers aren't to blame for. They been dealing budget cuts, staff cuts, managers who vote themselves big pay raises and the usual crud. I think they do a really high quality job and are one of the most important services in this community. read more

This is a review for the PO Box only. Started the application online and picked up my key during store hours. Once I got the key, it is a pretty easy process. 24/7 access and I can pick up packages during store hours. I do not have to interact with the post office and can renew online. read more

Never in my life experience this USPS office lost my package and they have no way to track it. Would they find out by checking those mobile scanner's to see which driver scan the item. In my mind telling me it's 2019 and there is a way to track it since our technology is upgraded. read more

The most miserable post woman works here. Her name is PING and she is so rude to every single customer. Everyone else at the post office seems to be really friendly and helpful, but that woman seriously must hate life. If she is around, i will wait for the next available associate. I had a box i had to send to family, another associate helped me fix up the box, and when i came in she told me i did it all wrong and i had no idea what i'm talking about..........umm one of YOUR associates helped me do this, so why would you blame me? I just received truly wonderful service today. With Covid and the stress on all essential workers, I can appreciate how another package may not have priority. I had a FedEx package that was delivered to the post office but not in the large delivery. My recipient was told it was sent back or it wasn't received. Robert (I think) took my call, gave me what should have been the process (totally reasonable) and took the time to see what happened. I was on hold with him for a while, but then he offered to call me back- which he did!- with the news that yes, a package was delivered to a door there. I've been selling on eBay since roughly 2009 and on Poshmark since 2013. My closest post office locations are the ones inside Eastridge and Oakridge and I love the employees there. I have also built a relationship with mainly one of them due to how many times I have to ship packages out in a week. I was in the area so I decided to stop by this location as it was the nearest to drop off some packages that needed to be shipped out. Since there were no drop off box or an area personally to leave your prepaid packages, I waited in line. I ended up getting the RUDEST MS. KNOW IT ALL to help me. I just wanted to drop off my packages and then leave but she decides to not let me speak and tells me she needs to EDUCATE me on how I should ship my packages. She wants to EDUCATE me? Is she my mom? Is she my teacher? Who the hell does she think she is with her loud mouth yelling at me telling me she needs to educate me? I've had no problems shipping for YEARS. No one has corrected me. I always send my packages out using their Priority Mail boxes fully paid for and all the packages I've sent out gets delivered to their destination on time and NEVER have been sent back to me so I'm pretty sure I've been doing it right? She seems like that one worker who always has to yell at people so her coworkers know who they are dealing with if they ever dare want to mess with her and I was unluckily chosen to be her target for the day. read more

No smile, the tone of her voice seems like she's just done with her job, and when my box has a stain (which I didnt know about), she said "you shouldn't have stain on your box, cover it up, oh my goodness" I mean I said I was sorry that I didnt know. I have to spend 3 hours to ship all my items at this location ,because getting a container box is a lottery, I have to stay in line to get a box and beg them to be able to get the right size of box that I need, when I ask them why it's complicated to get a container box ? Here are some suggestions: 1) provide readable instructions and/or handouts to explain your facilities' passport processes; explain that there are only 40 total daily slots for walkins and scheduled visits, 2) hand out #s with instructions to return at a specified time; explain that if you miss your specified time, you must wait for the next no-show or come back tomorrow. 3) display a "Now Serving #" for passport services 4) lastly, dealing with the public is difficult, but please do understand that those seeking passport services have varying reasons such as personal to legal emergencies. I have an appointment at 9:45am. Should be 15mins but I stuck their until over 1 hr later. Instead of process my paperwork in my allotted schedule, the staff kept sending me back behind the line to completed missing information which I didn't know and she didn't tell me. She then processed other appointment earlier. What is the point of making me fill out an appointment when I have to be back behind the line? So frustrated with USPS , in the last two weeks, three packages I've order say confirm delivery but I have not received them in my mailbox. First I have to said my regular mailman is great. This incident happened on a Sunday which was done a different mail person I recently had a package supposed delivered on a Sunday according the tracking system. However I'd never received it. I checked my surveillance footage and nobody came to door for delivery. So I called the post office two days later and the phone kept disconnected during the waiting time. I finally got through after 2 hours non stop dialings. a lady answered and took down info( only the address and declined the tracking number) and said they will get back to me. A week past, nothing happened I called post office again. This I got through pretty fast. The person looked up the tracking number in his system and said the package was delivered to the correct address. It must be stolen since I haven't received it. I told him my camera showed no mailman came to the door on that day. So I doubt the packages made to my house. He kept saying his data showed it's delivered to correct address and I should come down to post office so he can showed me the data. I asked if it is video data proof. He said no just his computer showed it was delivered. my camera must broken because his believed what said on his computer. He refused to investigate this incident and told me just call Amazon ask for refund. Here is issue: I have two different camera systems front of house and non of them captured mailman made the delivery. My motion sensor Door bell didn't trigger during the so called delivery time. I am disappointed with post office customer service. They ignore the concrete video footage, no common sense, and very incompetent with what they do. I will use UPS next tine. NEVER USPS. read more

Did you know that if you have a mailbox at your home with the flag up and out-going mail that the mailman doesn't have to take your mail? I was just told by the supervisor at this location that they do that only as a "courtesy" ...what the heck...I have never heard of this. I had time sensitive mail and now it will be late. The notice on the door states the new hours during covid. The lobby is supposed to open at 5:00 AM. It's currently 8:30 and no one can get in. Passport review Got in line around 7:15. Once they finally open the doors a little bit before 9am. This Filipino lady was explaining to us that we have to sign in therefore, we will get a number to be called on. She was only accepting 40 applicants. We got number 17/40 and she told us to come back around 10am, but once we came back they were in number 8. Our number was called around 11:40am. And we finished around 11:49am. It was pretty quick because we had our paper work and documents ready to go. What you need -Expired undamaged US passport or birth certificate that they will send out and mail it back to you. -valid government issue ID(CADL) -a check, money order, cashiers check written to the US DEPARTMENT OF STATE. For passport book only $110. For other fees inquiry go to travel.state.gov -$25 for for the post office processing fee. Debit, cash, and checks are accepted. -a photo copy of your CADL front and back 8x11 paper only. -A digital photo that you can take at any photo place like Walgreens, cvs, etc. By the way parking is pretty tight and there are no public restrooms that you can use. read more

Thanks to Yelp we came prepared for the passport application process. We actually took a risk and had M arrive around 8:30 because mornings are rough with a new baby. We were #11 which is pretty awesome when you read how early people have lined up in the past to get the same spot in line. Carmelina was pleasant and quick. I'm sure it helped that we had everything we needed including the photocopies of our IDs and a checkbook. There were a few people ahead of us who had those taken care of onsite or had to run out to their car which made the wait a bit longer. She told us that the past couple of weeks it has been slower than usual since all the kids are back in school so this is a great time to get your passports taken care of. FYI photocopies are $2 each and passport photos are $15. read more

One time, they have to charged me extra dollar for a media mail I have to send out when it was over by .05 oz when I purchase the shipping slip online. The drop box in front and inside does not have big enough slot for my small box package. And when I tried to drop off several mails, in the drive-thru boxes, they are full at the top. When a guest begins to ask a question about anything passport related, associates bark back that all numbers have been given out and that they're not answering questions. I ordered a book of stamps by mail on 11/27/13. The check has been cashed but I have yet to receive my stamps. I keep getting told that someone will call me back. I even spoke to the postmaster who is suppose to approve it whatever that means. Now he is supposedly on vacation. This is really poor customer service. read more

My review is only related to the Passport process here. I'm actually writing this review as I wait in line. I came early, before opening, like everybody says you're supposed to do. There was no parking whatsoever. The lot was completely filled with all the people who had already been waiting for hours at the door. Doors opened a little past 9am and a grumpy old lady made her way down the line with a clipboard where you write your name beside the next available number. They only help 40 people per day, so if you don't come early enough, you'll have to try again another day. After 40 names have been taken down, the waiting list is closed. They really should make announcements because sadly, I overheard many people upset about wasting 2-3 hours in line only to be told they have no chance of being helped today. If you see a line forming...shouldn't you inform these new people that the list is closed? A lot of the people here are non-English speakers so they can't expect everyone here to know without making a public announcement. Anyway, here I am, nearly 4 hours later...still in line. Everybody here is miserable, including the mean ladies behind the desk. Very harsh, rude, unhelpful, and impatient from what I've been seeing all morning. Sadly the only other alternative is booking an appointment at City Hall or the Santa Clara County Clerk Recorder's Office (which has great reviews, but there is a 6+ week wait for an appt). If you have summer plans to travel, this is your only option as they help everyone and anyone daily on a first-come-first-serve basis. Just bring coffee and a book. read more

This place is so incompetent it is not even funny. They keep mail that requires a recipient signature. We are closed on Saturdays and when they leave that slip and we follow up they cannot find them many times. They don't write the tracking number on the slip so we cannot track it. They try and take the slip away when you show them this. I just wonder how many other pieces of mail they loose that doesn't require a recipient signature? We have sent mail (hand delivered at the main post office), by express mail that they have lost (because it never left their location). Once when I tried to find the reason, the supervisor tells me "mail does get lost"? Hey if I wanted you to loose it, I'd put a 44c stamp on it and have you loose it, not $30+, for you to loose it. Do they hire qualified people here or is hiring don't by nepotism. These folks are clueless. read more

It's very unfortunate that I'm seeing good reviews in regards of Carmelina, but it seems like I'll be the first to complain about her. To give an image, my father and I were renewing/applying for our passports. It's a long wait time just to get a spot in line, but once the waiting time was over, the line to actually renew the passport is fairly quick. Carmelina was no doubt an efficient worker, but she failed to deliver adequate customer service. We were done with our passports in a matter of five to seven minutes. Here's the thing, my father is of old age and English is his second language. She explained/talked way too quickly and quietly, and when my father asked her to repeat things a few times, which I can understand would be frustrating, she answered, "Sir, I have already answered that question. I am not going to answer it again", and repeated that answer constantly when my father asked. Frankly, I would have helped in telling my dad but I couldn't hear her either. Once my father got mad and started to cause a scene, she said that she would not tolerate that attitude in the post office. But the thing is, if you would just talked slower and louder, you would not have had that "attitude" arise at the scene. Her tone was very condescending towards my father the whole time she spoke to him, while when she switched to me it was nice and polite. A little inconsistent, don't you think? I do appreciate that she didn't mug or glare at my father later when she had to take his picture for his passport, but please do train your employees to one, deal with customers who have English as their secondary language, two, deal with customers of older age, and three, be more humanistic towards ALL customers, not just the ones who are fluent in English. read more

Passport services - Today(4/6/15) drove to Milpitas post office (was #51 in line before the post office even opened) and they stopped at 50. Drove to Alviso post office and the sign on the door said : No passports from 4/6 - 4/10. Really the State Department needs to hand this service over to a private organization as the post office is ill equipped to handle this. Finally drove to UC Berkeley rec center where there was NO line and metered parking and got it done in 5 minutes. Both hubby and I had to take the day off and pull kids from school and I was determined to do it today. Thank you UC Berkeley! read more

This is the post office I usually frequent because it's the closest to home, but every time I go here I seem to arrive when the employees are having a bad day or something. Gee-whiz! Something is "always" wrong with my packages. Whether it's not enough tape, too much tape, my handwriting is toooo much for them, I shouldn't put yes that my package has liquids (when it does), I'm using the wrong box size, if I'm sure I want to send something to THAT address (yes I have family on the east coast), I shouldn't write the address on my package (then why is there a From and To on it...), etc. I never run into these issues when I stop by other post office locations! They also don't provide tape, so bring your own and make sure it's the RIGHT kind. Haha. I also haven't used their passport services, but from my observations it looks like a shit show. People arrived around 5-6 AM and we're still waits for their turn. Yikes. IMO you would get faster service at the County Office. read more
