Quick and painless post office and they are open after 5pm so that's a plus.

Great reliable service. This PO is quiet and not as busy as the one in La Habra.

It sucks If you are applying for a passport, you have to wait until there is nobody in line so if you are at front of the line and there's people in the back you have to let them pass even if you have all your paperwork ready.. is like been in the dmv at least 2 hours waiting so good luck read more

I live in a condo and whoever delivers the mail to our mailboxes always gives me other people's mail and my mail to other people. The unit numbers on the mail being delivered is clearly not my unit number but they somehow always mess up. I've gotten someone's tax paperwork before, that's some serious stuff. I ordered something online for $80 and good thing the mailbox they put my order in was my friend's cause I probably would've never got it. Then another time I had to drive down to the post office and spoke to the person in charge. He had to go back with me to where I live and look through all the mailboxes in the pouring rain until he found what I ordered. Which he did, in someone else's mail. I've called and complained many times, I went in and complained many times, but they don't seem to care and fix the problem. Just recently I was waiting on a $1000 check from a job I did and I am very lucky the mailbox they put it in was my parent's mailbox as they live in the same condos. I have the same name as my dad, totally different addresses though. Whoever is delivering the mail needs to be a lot more careful and pay way more attention. Someone even left a note on the mailboxes asking if other people were receiving mail that wasn't theirs. I have gifts coming in the mail at the moment, gifts I spent a good amount of money on. Let's see if I ever receive them or if someone else's Christmas gets better. read more

Some of the people can be very rude, plus's if you have a P.O.BOX and try to get a package they take forever! People just staying around and walk right pass you without helping. Very bad system of how they do things read more

Just went in to deliver a package and the employees there are very helpful. The line was a little long but moved very quickly. The employee on the other side of the desk was even helping people use the self service machine. When it was my turn the lady was very knowledgeable and answered all of my dumb questions. I have gone to this post office many times and have always had negative experiences. The workers are unhelpful and make you feel like you don't know what you are talking about. I currently have a package that was supposed to be delivered last week that arrived at this post office 5 days ago. They aren't answering their phone when I call during business hours and don't have a voicemail set up. I drive 15 minutes to use the Post Office in Whittier just because the service is so much better. read more

Worst post office I have EVER been to. I know the USPS is strapped for cash but that is no excuse for shoddy customer service and snail-paced assistance. The employees here are rude, not very helpful, and take their sweet time in addressing a long growing line. I've called their office on numerous occasions just for a question and no one answers. You can typically expect a minimum half-hour wait even when there's just a handful of people in line. The people working there just don't care. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with the post office. First went on line to seek a solution to my problem, on line they just direct the issue to the local post office. I was contacted by the supervisor Carlota Bradford, she asked for documents that were virtually impossible to obtain from City of La Mirada. I once again went on line to continue looking for a solution to my problem, and once again they just send my issue to the local office, Carlota Bradford calls me again now stating that she has already told me what I need. I decided to come in person and address this issue. I was told to speak to a supervisor by the person behind the counter. Carlota Bradford comes out, the minute I start explaining my issue she immediately knew who I was and once again tells me the same thing, to go to City of La Mirada and bring the necessary documents, I asked to be more specific and tell me exactly what she meant by "City of La Mirada" and what documents she is looking for to be able to deliver mail to my address. At this point she goes to a computer looks something up and writes it down, she hands me a piece of paper with an address and a telephone number, I punch the address on my gps and start driving to the place, she sent me near City Hall, when I'm about to arrive I call the number she gave me and realize she sent me to the water park called "Splash'. As crazy as this might sound I went in there and asked for help with my issue, at this point even though I know there is no way they can help me I still tried, just to exhaust all possibilities, then I went to city hall, building, planning and none of these departments had any help to give me, they had no idea what Carlota was asking for. I now go back to post office and as soon as I walked in she is already giving me a look that says "you again" I approached her and told her she had just sent me to Splash, I asked for her to be more specific and tell me what department from "City of La Mirada" she wanted me to go to, she couldn't answer, I said "Planning?" she says Yes, I just went there, I responded, I said can you give me a name for the document you need me to provide? or at least describe it to me? she says, "you have never done this before, have you?" (unbelievable). At this point she accepts to take a look at the document I've been offering from the county of LA since the first time we spoke on the phone and realizes that might be what she is looking for, she asked me to allow her to make a copy and takes it to the back, she takes much longer that it would normally take any one to make some copies and then a man by the name of Anthony walks out with my document and asks if it's mine. He tells me that is what they need and they will put my address on their data base to start delivering mail. Carlota came out and acted like nothing ever happened. No apology for her lack of experience and for making me struggle these three weeks with this issue, that should have never been an issue if USPS did what they are supposed to do to begin with, let me make it clear that this document had already been mailed by LA county to USPS 6 months ago and then again a few weeks ago. On Sept. 6th I took a small package to this P.O. Clerk was nice. Told me that it would arrive in Las Vegas on the 9th. The people who were to receive the package were leaving the 10th. So I believed the clerk and did not pay extra for the guaranteed 2 day delivery. Tracking code shows that on Sept. 11th, the package arrived in the Los Angeles Regional Origin Facility. It was delivered on Sept. 14th. That package was 8 days in getting to Las Vegas!!! And you folks need more money???? I have enough issues with the fact that I have lived in La Mirada for 4 + years and still get mail for prior residents!!! One family of prior residents moved and has relocated across the street ( living there for 2 years now ) and the carrier has still failed to realize that the name on the address is directly across the street!!! read more

Don't bother showing up for a passport unless you make an appointment. There is a sign in the building that says "Passports 10 - 2 pm," but NOTHING regarding an appointment being required. What a joke! read more

OK. Here's the scoop. I really, really, really don't like rating places poorly, but I received the WORST customer service here. I really should have gotten to writing this sooner. I would rate it zero stars, if it was not so close to my place, if the lobby wasn't open at night, and if they didn't have the self-service machine. With that being said, there were two times I received very poor service. The first time, I only had a small package with me and a long line ahead of me. There were only two people at the front desk moving at a snail's pace. There was a lady asking the people in line for potential fragile and hazardous packages, and she spoke at an even slower pace. It was the same thing over again, and even though I told her I didn't beforehand, she still asked me anyway. And then when I went to the front desk, the lady there was asking the same things the lady in the line had already checked plus more. I know this experience is definitely not deserving of a one star, because of the long line. But this isn't what set me off, though they could have moved the line a lot faster. A few days later, I have to go in again to check the price of shipping a package to Vancouver, Canada. All I wanted was the cost, not to ship it or anything. Going in, there was no line ahead of me, and the lady called me up. Instead of helping me right away, she proceeded to have a chit chat conversation with her coworker on the other side for five minutes. I had to say "hi" in a very intentional way to get her to help me. As I was telling her I just wanted to know the cost of shipping, she interrupted me and asked where I was sending it to. I tried to tell her, but she was already asking if anything was hazardous or fragile. I finally told her but she IGNORED me and held her hand out at me. As I tried to say something, she told me "stop." Are you kidding???? That was actually what I told her. I'm usually a very patient person, but this lady was SO RUDE to me. You don't just hold up a hand at a customer and say "stop." You can tell them to "wait for me while I check the price," but not just "stop." I had no idea if she even heard me or what she was looking up. After another five to ten minutes, I finally convinced her to give me only the price of shipping to Vancouver, and nothing else. I said a very angry "thank you," (which I admit was rude on my part, since it was basically a screw you) and went out as fast as I could. Sometimes I wonder how people like this even have a job, especially with customer service, when there are so many other deserving people. They dont even deserve a star!!! Extremely horrible customer service. If youguys think im just trolling, check my other yelp. Even if they are bad, i gave them at least 3 stars. But this usps is just wrong. I really want to call police on them and arrest them all for fucking around with their customer although this isnt possible unfortunately. Do not trust them on re deliver schedule. NEVER!! I was waiting for important international letter and they just left a slip on post box not even checking im there or not. So i had to request for redeliver which is supposed to be today at least. They didnt come until 4pm and I had to call them whats going on. The receptionist checks every one of my info then tells me she dont know how to deal with this with broken english. She transferred me to manager and she fucking tells me to pick it up at their office. So I ended yelling at her for her irresponsibility and shes giving 'wtf is wrong?' Attitude. The worst! If you see 13 people in line with 1.5 windows open, be brief and to the point. No need for lessons on Post Office life and procedures. 20 minutes talking to the first two in line. Didn't interact with folks behind the counter enough to give them a good review but a staff outside of it was simply delightful. Every once in a while we all run into rude, irrational and very confrontational people (a culture where people always get mad/love to fight and think so much of themselves). Christine was empathetic, rational and warm in "customer service" after an unpleasant situation. Honestly, that's the main reason behind this review: an appreciation. Our mail carrier refuses to deliver our package to our house because it is 31 pounds. It is an Amazon package that they send through USPS and they are obligated to deliver it. The mail carrier just said it is too heavy for me, just pick it up in the post office. This is Amazon grocery. If I have to pick up groceries from the post office then I will just go to the grocery. I called Amazon to complain and they also affirmed that USPS must deliver it as it in their contract to do so. I hope they privatize the post office so that these people can be held to the same standard as the private sector. read more

I had a great experience...the lady behind the counter was super helpful and provided packing tape...just said they're not allowed to do so, let me know for next time. Also, there was another lady helping a customer...customer provided incorrect zip code and insisted she was right. The lady behind the counter was very patient with her and it turns out she did give her the wrong zip code. Disaster avoided. So from what I witnessed that day and my own experience, they were great. read more

There is no zero star. This post office should get Zero Star I am sick of this post office delivery post man or woman , they always always deliver wrong mail from different address to our house and deliver our mail to some one else house , this is not the first time we lived in La Mirada for 27yrs and its happening over and over again. we complain so many times to supervisor of that location but no one care . They should know mail is a privacy and very important , people can have identity thrift. our checks has been lost we have to cancel check and pay penalty for stop payment . today 19May2017 its extreme , post man or woman deliver some one else medicine to our house , we have kaiser also so we open the bag and found out some one else name and then we ck its was some one else address . we have to go and deliver the bag to their house because we don't trust the post man/woman they can deliver in the wrong add again and a patient can die. The only solution we see here to keep all these evidence and sue the post office for their negligence . they are getting free money . there are lots of hard working people looking for a job they should hire some one else who can do better job instead getting free Money. you have to be very careful with this post office and don't give any business to them and complain to main office in Washington as La Mirada post office doesn't care.
