The line to the normal us post office was getting long and she decided to have me wait longer. Other people with passport questions or small items: like forgot their birth certificate she takes. This post office is absolutely pathetic. First, they give priority to Passport applicants, which takes a very long time, because they are basically acting as translators and filling out the paperwork for people. They always have only one or two windows available and if they moved any slower, they'd be going backwards. The Post Office window attendants speak extremely poor English and are very hard to understand. Let that sink in....These are government employees working in the US and interacting with US citizens, and their grasp of English is virtually non-existent !!! read more

Passport hours are from 9 am to 3 pm...or so they say. I got there at 2:05pm and they didn't want to take my new application because the girl was working over time. How the hell is that our problem? Overall this post office is just okay. It does the job right? Stand in line, have the post person ask you some questions about dangerous materials, try and sell you some stamps and boom, you're done. What I really am seeing more of though is that the post offices are constantly trying to upsell you on stamps, insurance, certified mail, signatures, etc. Sending a $1.50 card out and Mr. postman tries selling me $7.50 in tracking and confirmations. Maybe just me but since when does going to the post office feel like buying a car. You may be wondering, why am I writing a review about the post office? There really isn't much to say, you think. They give us mail everyday and do it fairly decently. How can a post office get a full 5-star rating? I shall answer. Most post offices I've ever been too have a very cranky staff. They don't talk, except grunt every once in a while, and they never smile. The lines are always long too (this is especially true at the La Mirada post office). But I'm here to say that the Santa Fe Springs post office is not that way at all. They have the friendliest staff I have ever seen. They always talk to you, smile, and ask if you need anything else (heck they're always asking if I need cash back - at the Post Office no less). And when the line gets to be a bit long, someone actually comes out to ask people what they are there for and will re-route them to the postage machines in the lobby or the self-serve machine where you can get labels, stamps, etc. and pay for it with cash or ATM. I tell, this place is full-service. I was recently in here to drop off my passport application. They had photo on-site and were able to get my application on it's way fairly quickly. It seemed like several people in line that day all had the same idea. Get passport application processed. The postal workers all took it in stride and still provided us with excellent customer service. read more

We had some complicated paperwork (between me, my husband, my daughter, and her dad) and there were a few mistakes made, but Mr. Daryl made it seem like the mistakes were nonexistent, and he fixed what needed to be fixed. Passport pictures are available here, as well. Different pricing options are available, depending on your passport needs. Rush delivery vs. standard, passport card vs. book vs. both, and all of this was explained to us nicely by Mr. Daryl. The post office, itself, is a nice one. I have always received bad customer service at the post office, both in the west coast and worst in the east coast. Workers seem over their job or just unhappy to simply be there. I went in yesterday to renew my passport and this location, my mother said its the fastest service she has ever received. So I went in. I will say was the upmost best experience in customer service I have received in a very long time. All the employees seemed happy to be there and very helpful. Darryl was great, very funny, friendly and knowledgeable. I was in and out within 10 mins. There was a long line while I filled out the application by Darryl made that line disappear! Lol. I couldn't agree more with all the positive comments. I drove ten miles to check this place out after several other failed attempts at other post offices. I wanted to do a quick name change on my passport and every other post office I tried made it feel impossible. Even though the passport office was closed Darryl was able to help me and answer all my questions. He even eased my worries about the processing time. Add soon as I walked in I read greeted and they knew what I needed before I asked. I was in and out in 15 min-including the time or took me to fill out the required forms! Fast service at the post office? This isn't an oxymoron.... I came here to get my passport paperwork done, as the closest one to me in Paramount took about 2 hours to move 2 feet, realizing my 5 o'clock shadow was coming in. Searched on yelp that this was significantly faster. Like Usain Bolt fast. As other people have mentioned before, Darryl is probably the only happiest USPS worker I've experienced. Very big postal office joint, once you walk in they have P.O. Boxes here to the masses! Inside it looks like a morgue because you see nothing but mail storage everywhere! so If you want to sign up for a p.o. box i don't see why they don't have a space for you. Not much here, but friendly employees they say hi, when I find them emptying their mail drops inside. I don't really come here as my destination for postal needs due to them removing their stamp machine out of the lobby, which is no longer a convenient. Wow, this is the best post office I have ever been to. Usually the workers at the post offices in have been to are weird, grumpy, or typical government/city services where they would seem annoyed just by working there. Not here at the Santa Fe Springs post office. They are efficient, nice, will go out of their way to make it easy for everyone. Darryl is the man. He is very efficient and is one of the best I have ever seen. He and his team work very efficiently with each other. I feel that all other post offices, at least in LA need to take a lesson from this group. Darrel helped us in getting our passport paperwork and submission straightened out. They were supposed to stop at 3pm but he made sure everyone who was waiting in line by 3pm was helped (even if it was already close to 4pm). Yes, there are usually long lines there and only one or two people manning the cash registers (working at a DMV-clerk's pace) regardless of the length of the line. Yes, they've failed to deliver my packages more than once when I drop them off there. I have to wait in line to get a receipt every time I go there to make sure it's going to get delivered. Yes, I have a very hard time understanding some of the employees' English. But it's just so convenient to get there and it's such a nice building. The benefits barely outweigh the costs so I keep going there. Capitalism at work! read more

I recently had a bad experience at the po in my area. They refuse to give customers acceptance receipts for the packages they drop off. Being that my bf would be in this particular area I asked him to bring my packages to this location and "voila" they scanned the items and gave him an acceptance receipt. Snappy customer support person, their carrier is running four hours late, asked them the eta for the delivery and they said twenty minutes from the time im calling. It is now fourty minutes later and im waiting for the mail man still to deliver my package i paid twenty dollars for to ship and arrive next day. Short cut sentences and generic replies that dont actually apply to my street wont get you guys anywhere. How you are doing well is beyond me. You dont even deserve the star. This post office never seems to be crowded compared to some of the other local post offices. Service has always been quick and friendly.

Friendly Staff, tends to get busy at all hours of the day, but they try to get you in and out as fast as they can well still answering all your questions. The only down side is a pack of Gipsy's tend to hang out by the doors asking for hand outs... Though I have been seeing less of them in recent months. Gipsy's at your local post office.... There is good service and then there is great service. The service from branch manager Marcelo was beyond great. I had an issue with a lost package. Marcelo went out of his way for over a week to resolve my issue. He was in contact with via email and even met with me in person. Thanks to him, I was able to get a refund. He saved me over $300.
