Not sure why this post office has so many negative reviews, I've been here many times and always had a good experience. All in all, it's a normal post office just like any other but what I like most is even when the post office is closed the front doors are always open so that you can get to the do-it-yourself kiosk and still print postage and get your packages out. I've used USPS for a long time. However anytime I try to call their lines are usually busy and when I do get ahold of someone they are unenthusiastic about everything and are borderline rude. I was trying to have a package redelivered to my address that was claiming to be already sent -- but I had not received it. I go to call and it takes me several tries to get a hold of someone. I sent out the notice via their website instead -- still no response. When I call back several times again they tell me that I'm SOL, basically. So now I'm out on a lot of money and unsure of what to do at this point. No one has been helpful and it's very frustrating because I had $80 worth of printer ink now gone missing. read more

This post office is useless. I've had too many packages delivered to the wrong address. What kills me - I have no problem getting my bills or junk mail. But within the last 4 to 5 months - packages that I've ordered thru Amazon or Ebay - that have shown delivered - have not been on my porch or in my mailbox. And when you call them to complain - they ask you could you have missed it. Yea right. They have no way to figure out if the individual that is delivering my mail is whether he's keeping the packages or delivering them to the wrong house. It's ridiculous. I suggest if you order anything online - try to get it delivered via UPS or Fedex. It's ridiculous to deal with these idiots. read more

This post office is just around the corner of my house but that guy, is always there and he's been there for many years and from this day he is still a rude ass person it's time for him to retired, because he is such a rude person and honestly I'm surprised how they can have that type people working in there, no manners such a rude person and he's always working in that last corner by the doors. don't ever try to call them to ask something. After waiting 14 minutes I was transferred to a call center where they couldn't help me. the next day I called again and was told the hold time was 40 minutes to an hour -- this is AFTER I answered enough questions to be accepted into the secret services. to be fair, when you go into the postoffice the people are helpful and friendly. read more

The old mexican lady with glasses is a bit rude. You just get this miserable or unhappy vibe from her. Also, it seems shipping from the counter is much cheaper than buying from the Kiosk. At times, there have been friendly services, but yesterday the Mexican or Latino lady was rude. I was returning a package from ebay and the postage was first class. The package had priority mail. I just re-wrapped the package and put the postage on it. The lady was rude and said, YOU HAVE FIRST CLASS NOT PRIORITY, I (OR WE) CANNOT SHIP IT. Listen lady, there are ways to say things, go buy a happy meal or something. It wasn't even that busy. The asian lady who helped me later on wasn't that friendly either. I just saw a USPS commercial saying "It's all about you". It's sickening! I bought a house 6 months ago and they are still sending all my mail back to the sender, because, "person has moved with no forwarding address". I am still getting junk mail, and I am removing it from my mailbox, so somebody must be living there. I have gone to the post office 4 times to get this fixed without success. I was help by a women named veronica to get my passport done, I experienced the worst customer service she was so rude. I would never go back to that post office ever again I had an appointment and she made me rush through all the paper work very unprofessional without being said she was yelling at me I didn't understand what was her problem. Let's first start with the fact that their employees are ZERO helpful. I've used USPS for years and never have had a problem. But 5/15/13 Saturday morning I had the worst experience with a postal worker (puerto Rican) man. His attitude towards me was very rude and with every question I asked him it was like I was bothering him and he would answer with a rude rude remark. I just wanted my package item shipped and I thought maybe he was having a bad morning. But this is still not an excuse to be rude to a customer. As I walked away towards the door a lady stopped me and commented on this postal worker and how rude he is. She also told me he's that way to everyone. Well at that moment I decided to go to his supervision to complain of his behavior toward me. If this man can't deal with the public then have him do something else then to offend people. It seem like the supervision took my info but I'm not sure if he's going to let this man know of his ruddiness to my. Just why? This post office sucks. Let me clarify. There are definitely some personalities who exist in this place. There are some clerks who you clearly know wear the weight of the world on their faces, but there are some nice clerks who are funny, kind, helpful and do their job. Its interesting though since theyve had this supervisor, a lil miss polyannISH type of individual with long blondish hair who loves to micromanage. You can tell the clerks who kiss her butt, one in particular is a tall guy with a bald head, he loves to banter with her...but you can also see the disconnect she has, she does not connect with the clerks...its like she wants to have robot row, no personality, no customer focus. I can't say from observing that they really care for her, and frankly I dont think she cares about them, she's really phony in her presentation. besides the other matters of issues people have with the passports, or just an overall lack of more service because often this location is not busy but when it does get busy, there is not enough clerks to handle the flow and that would make anyone frustrated. I will also concur that its nearly impossible to get someone to answer the phone there which is a pain in the butt. but more than anything the morale of this location is low and lacks vigor. Sometimes you can be so projob that you become anti-human,,,,I hope they find a balance because its really said to even from a customers pov watch the demoralization overcome this branch...yes, its that obvious unfortunately. read more

My packages keep not getting delivered to me. I have a service that I subscribe to and get regular, white cardboard boxes. They have not been delivered to me 6 different times. At this point I have lost thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. I've submitted a claim each time and the last two times the supervisor for area code 92019 has not responded to me. If my neighbors are getting my packages they are not giving them to me. My only conclusion, either my neighbors are stealing from me or my mail carrier is. When I have spoken to the supervisor he sounds, well I'm not gonna be rude. He says....uhhh, are you sure? And that he doesn't know who delivered my mail. With all the fear and federal regulations surrounding what gets delivered in the mail how they can responsibly deliver mail and not know who is delivering it? The last time I spoke to him he said, "This is odd, someone who wasn't supposed to be on that route scanned the package, not the person who was supposed to. I will check this out and get back to you." He never called me back and ignored the next claim I submitted when two packages were not delivered and this Saturday I was supposed to receive 3 packages that were not delivered to me though the tracking information says they were. I have tracking numbers for all these packages. What is going on? I called this time instead of submitting the claim online as I have the last 5 times and the man I spoke to told me the supervisor for 92019 was there and he would have him call me, he didn't. My neighbors complain about not getting their mail and hand me my mail from the same day. How can the mail carrier put half of my mail in the right box and half in the wrong box on the same day? This has been going on too long and if you are not getting your mail you need to be filing complaints until something gets done! read more

Ordered an iPhone case off of Amazon with 2-day priority shipping. The order was delivered yesterday, and 'handed directly to a resident' according to USPS themselves. Ironically, the address I provided is for a BUSINESS and there are ZERO residents in this BUSINESS. A business that REGULARLY uses USPS, FedEx, and UPS because it's a BUSINESS. Thanks USPS of El Cajon for failing to deliver my item and successfully handing my order to a complete stranger. After reading the many comments I was prepared to have a thoroughly unpleasant experience at the El Cajon Post Office. But I was happily surprised to receive helpful, friendly, and polite service. I was sending a package to Thailand for the first time and the postal employee helping me was not only patient but even cheerful! I was helped by a tall African American gentleman--I wish I would have caught his name. He had a calm and kind demeanor and I'll definitely look for him next time. Hope it wasn't a fluke! read more
