i go to this post office almost everyday to drop off parcels i sell off of depop (usps is helpful in the fact that they ship those packages out for you which is why they get 1 star instead of 0) HOWEVER, this particular location has a package drop-off chute that i imagine leads to a basket of packages in the back room but it is ALWAYS FULL which means the chute is ALWAYS JAMMED and you can't drop off your packages efficiently. i bet you're thinking, "just give it to the people working" except there's ALWAYS a line that you have to allot a whole days time to conquer. genuinely just hire me at this point and i'll move the stupid package build up from the chute because it rly is not that hard and i don't have all day. figure your shit out aviara post office read more

With USPS getting a possible overhaul or budget cut you would think the employees want to keep their jobs. Nope, not at this location. Management really needs to look at customer service and do some training. The quality of the people the hire is appalling, that must say something about management and the supervisors as well. Hiring people who care, mail often misplaced, no one answers the phone and employees are rude

I am traveling and needed to ship items back home. Ly provided me the large flat rate, typically located behind the counter at every post office I've been to. He was pleasant, greeted me with a great smile, and made sure I knew cost and verified the number I needed. Th line was minimal at pick up and drop off. The inside of the lobby was clean and well stocked and they had a self service machine, which is only at approximately 25-50% of locations I have been to in several states I have lived. I'm glad that this location is open on Saturdays for me to mail out packages. There's ample parking, which makes up for the outdated building and lack of landscaping. Service is a bit slow but people seem overall happy to do their job. read more

One post office work walked me through how to scan my prepaid label for the first time and get a receipt. Someone at this location is dishonest and steals from the customers. i dropped off about 5 packages. the line was long so the woman working there said we could put all drop offs on the counter and she would scan them later so we didnt have to wait in line. another lady and i did that. long story short after WEEKS andDAYS calling (that nobody answered, btw) they had no answers for me. turns out someone (an employee) STOLE my package. i am sure she is really loving her free goodies... This post office is grossly over charging and lying about it. I just shipped at item first class, .,38 ounces and it was $4.20. Roughly double the cost it should have been. I ask him if I put stamps would it cost the same, he said yes. I went to car and googled. A letter weighing 1 ounce will need one first-class stamp. As of January 2019 a first-class stamp costs $0.55, every additional ounce is charged at $0.15. So if you are sending a 2-ounce letter you will need $0.70 worth of postage stamps.Oct 12, 2019 The other day I mailed 2 small boxes and it cost $40. During a pandemic! When our nation is under stress and our economy is crashing. This post office wouldn't waive a $23 late fee for my box renewal. I forgot to pay my box renewal fee this month. Never received a notice in my box that it was up for renewal. Got locked out of my box after the 10 day grace period so once I became aware of the situation I was no longer in the grace period. The people that work here have been great every time I need something done that requires a human touch. At the time of this writing, less than a week before Christmas 2019, they have been able to do absolutely nothing for 3-4 days because of AT&T. Everything has been down, including the self service. Don't blame the post office, blame AT&T for not fixing their system. AT&T has also been the source of stand still days at other businesses lately too. I barely ever write reviews. This is my second and I would never go back to this USPS location; the only reason why I went here was because it's open to 4 on Saturday. The gentleman I dealt with was rude and impatient (wouldn't wait more than 30 seconds...not exaggerating, to find my QR code), made me wait for him to take the other person behind me. Which also, I had my six month old child in my arms ( so let's just say my hands were full and my arm was tired from carrying her). And when he finally was done with the lady behind me, he gave me attitude when I didn't have tape to seal my plastic return package (I've been to other USPS stores and they always offer to tape those, cause you don't need much to seal them). My local post office and dare I say that I love them? The lines can get long here but you'll learn quickly that you should visit during non-peak hours. ie; 10-11 or 1-3pm. I just barely got around to picking up our mail from our recent trip and even though I rarely come here, the staff always remembers me....from buying stamps for our wedding invitations 4 years ago. When we told him we just celebrated our 4 year anniversary, he couldn't believe it. It's so sweet that they remember to always ask how the hubby's doing and when he goes in, they ask how I'm doing. A very small town post office feel even though they service a large area. They are just terrific to work with. If the lines are long, practice your meditation techniques to relax. I stopped at this location out of convenience. I was on my way back to La Jolla and googled the closest post office in Carlsbad. This was about 10 mins away and I opted to come here. I needed to mail off my passport via priority mail with a confirm delivery. There is ample parking and when I came in on a weekday afternoon the post office wasn't busy. It is actually sporadic. When I arrived a group of people left, and as I was leaving, there was a group of people coming in. So basically it's a hit or miss when you come. The Asian lady who helped me provided great service. She said that if I put my letter envelope into the 2 day priority envelope it would be cheaper. I filled out the addressee and the lady assisted me quickly. She printed out my receipt and my confirm number and I was off! Quick and efficient service! read more

The absolute worst experience with this post office. I have tried calling the number found online (760-918-0112) and with the 8 times I've tried calling, no one has answered the phone once. I've physically been in 3 different times to figure out a lost mail key situation and I was told 3 differing things to do only to be told today that I just need to call a locksmith. This really is the "Saks Fifth Avenue" of Post Offices. Plenty of free, safe parking, squeaky clean and bright interior and exterior that could be nominated for an ASID award, excellent selection of postal accessory everything, and super friendly and efficient employees who are "really there" to help the customers. I really like the way the manager comes out to greet and help people in line and will hustle to open additional counters where it gets crowded. Add to that, they always check with you to see if they can help you with any thing else. Even the fellow customers here smile and will hold the door open for you. Now that's COOL! read more

Bottom Line: This post office is ok. Nothing to rave about but not a bad place to do your business. I've been in this post office many, many times for a variety of services. Overall, the length of the lines and the services provided have been average. The best thing about this post office is that they have two of the automated post office machines which go a long way towards mailing letters and small packages, especially since the doors are unlocked here 24/7. Between the two machines and the banks of post office boxes, there always seems to be someone here. Sometimes it feels a little sketchy but I haven't had any bad experiences yet. read more

This is a pretty small PO in a busy residential area, so there's usually a line. If I can use the automated machines and their Priority Mail boxes, it's usually easy. The staff is friendly, but they seem to have been given a script which they repeat joylessly each visit. do-you-need-any-stamps-are-you-interested-in-a-post-office-box-do-you-need-your-passport-reviewed-please-help-me-escape-from-this-boring-hell-do-you-need-an-itemized-reciept I still don't remember the difference between Express Mail and Priority Mail - I think Priority is the less expensive. Rude staff that seem bored and unhappy. Tried to use my CC multiple times chip and swipe. No workie. Clerk was disinterested and said "it's being cantankerous" so in my mind she's well aware this thing flakes but her attitude was tough luck charlie. I'm sure she's seen this way too many times and the rude customer doesn't have any cash in their account, but that's not my sitch, pretty sure my card works fine. While I'm walking out she loudly said to her co-clerk, "He's being a badass". Extremely unprofessional. Got a supervisor involved who said "It's not her problem my card got declined what should she do about it?" Checked my bank account and re-entered office. Decided to go to another clerk, who now had attitude as well. Finally went to a third station where the transaction worked perfectly. Both of their eyes got real big and they got quiet. I said "I suggest you fix your card reader" and walked out. It's infuriating when companies won't take responsibility for when they possibly might be in error, it's always the customer's fault. The problem with this post office is that they only issue passports by appointment yet it's near impossible to make an appointment. Seriously. We've been trying for several weeks to make an appointment. You can only do so by phone on their ridiculous 800 line. They'll tell you to leave a message and promise to call you back to schedule you in but you will never hear from them again. We've been waiting to hear back from them for over a month now. Their outgoing message will warm you to not leave more than one phone message or you'll be confusing them and causing things to take even longer. I give up. We'll be moving along to another passport location. I'm bumping them up from one star to 2 only because they offer free parking and have some nice people working the counter inside. read more

How in the world does someone who works for the post office delivering mail, think it's ok to show a package has been tracked and delivered, when it actually wasn't and won't arrive until the next day? And you try to fill out an email to USPS to state that your package hadn't arrived, and the website says try again later and it won't save your info..and then you have to call Amazon who finally admits the package actually wasn't really delivered yet by USPS...Do they just click buttons ahead of time? I work near here, so I often drop off mail in the Drive-Thru mail drops. I always arrive well after 8:30 in the morning. Lately when I pull up, there is a cover over the mailboxes so you can't put mail in. What is this? You don't want to collect the mail? I thought that was the whole idea of a post office.
