Stopped by this place for a late lunch and was delighted by how good the food was. I ordered the ahi tuna salad, which had beautiful, thinly-sliced radishes and cucumbers, as well as a delicious Japanese chili dressing. Came to Urbane Cafe here in Pasadena after our first go-to salad place was disappointingly closed on a Sunday. My husband has frequented the one in Santa Clarita quite often in the past year or so (and he loves it) and it was my first time at Urbane Cafe. We split both the Urbane Cobb salad and the Seasonal Quinoa and Corn salad - both were freshly made and super satisfying, full of tasty and refreshing vegetables, high quality chicken, and dressings that perfectly complemented the leafy concoctions. An incredibly generous amount of avocado came with the quinoa salad too. We had ordered take out and it was ready no more than ten minutes or so later. While we didn't eat there, the interior looked both casual and comfortable yet with a bit of modern classiness as well. This establishment is awesome, this evening I was dragged out of my house by a couple of friends to grab a bite and catch a flick. I have found my new favorite eatery. The staff is amazingly friendly. I was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer and I know that this eatery will fast become my favorite establishment. A great new addition to the restaurants on South Lake. They do mostly sandwiches and salads using their in house baked focaccia bread which is quite good. Basically it's like Mendocino Farms Light. The sandwiches I've gotten (bbq tri tip and chicken banh mi) are very flavorful. Side salad that comes with the sandwich is solid. You can also upgrade that to a fruit mix for 50c more but I didn't think the fruit was worth that upgrade and would just stick to the House salad. Good flavors and some interesting items on the menu will have us coming back for more. Now only if Mendocino Farms would also open up on S Lake my gastronomic life might be complete. The one thing id want to see them change is there are only 2 beef sandwiches. But why not have the chicken sandwiches also be able to turn into beef version. Basically a "pick your protein" option. First time here. brina. She greeted me like I was an old friend or repeat customer at a minimum. Her kindness on its own could make me return. A healthy menu and fast service helps too. If there were any complaint it would be that I don't eat flour or sugar and when I asked if there was flour in the soup I was told "I don't think so" by the manager at the time.
