Super healthy choice to grab lunch at. It reminds me of Urth Cafe but cheaper. I usually get the pesto chicken at urth so I gave it a shot here too. I didn't like how there wasn't much pesto on the sandwich which made it a little too dry for my taste. However, I loved the salad and would definitely come back to try another sandwich. Today's (Tuesday) soup was chicken tortilla and a vegetarian soup. read more

This was such a great choice for dinner last night! My office ordered from here and the smell caught my attention. My boss told me where it was from so I ordered. Soup, salad, kids cheese pizza and a double chocolate chip cookie and a lemonade. Wow it was all so delicious! The poblano soup (?) was the best I've ever had and the cookie was magic!! The salad ingredients all taste fresh and the pickles purple onions were my favorite! It was so inexpensive too! What a hidden gem! I'll definitely go back read more

Urbane Cafe - A delicious Keri Cobb salad!! Omg so so so good!!! - Sandwiches Near Me - Pasadena, California

I have ordered twice now, including yesterday, through their app to pick up sandwiches and each time, despite my specific instructions on their app, they have failed to include utensils. How do they expect me to eat their salads on a picnic without forks or napkins? I have asked their employees each time, when I picked up the food, if utensils were included, and they said,"It should be there" and on both occasions, including yesterday, NO UTENSILS. Today, I also specifically asked for extra cranberry chutney on the side for my sandwich. Guess what? No cranberry chutney on the side. Both orders were picked up at the lake/Pasadena location. Whoever is managing this location should train their staff to carefully read the app orders and fill them correctly. Otherwise, I will be ordering someplace else next time. read more

The service is great and I love the people there. I also love the SoCal everyone should try it.

This is quickly becoming my favorite little take out spot in Pasadena. Couple reasons - the people who work here are consistently friendly. They offer me water when I'm waiting for my order and they bring my order out to me instead of just calling my name out like other places. They also thank me by my first name most of the time and It feels more personal. Best customer service in the area. Then the food - it's DELICIOUS. I am addicted to their salads and their in house made bread is so soft and fluffy. Urbane cafe is helping me eat healthier on a regular basis and im very grateful it's so close to home! read more

Delicious quick lunch spot. Quality ingredients and consistently very good sandwiches and salads. Best salad is the Santa Maria bbq chicken.

Parker at your service! Came here for something fresh and healthy, I was pleased. Clean place, delicious food, delicious desserts and great service! Thank you again Parker! read more

The sandwiches although tasty were really small. I had their Sol Cal and honestly needed a second one to be "full". Reminded me a lot of Cosi back in NYC. Menu very similar - limited choices of salads and soups for pairing. read more

I love this salmon bowl here, it's so delicious. It comes with a really tasty creamy sauce. It's the only thing I've ordered so far and I've been here numerous times. They also have the best cookies ever! The inside is soft and the edges are crispy, and the chips are melted. Definitely get a cookie if you come here. read more

I appreciate Dekayla for her kind service in helping me find a vegetarian dish and recommendation

On a Nice Saturday afternoon in December, they have a promo Bogo on a sandwich for Santa event on lake avenue. My sister and I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich with salad and waited outside for the order. Our food didn't take too long to come out wrapped in a bag. Then we decided to eat in their patio seating area. My sandwich was delicious but I didn't taste the pesto. Otherwise the focaccia bread was still warm and held in place. The salad mixed with balsamic salad dressing was good too. I would come back and try other sandwiches. Parked in the back read more

I am a huge fan of Urbane Cafe. I had first heard about the chain when I was working out in the Ventura area. They have expanded and opened up more locations in the past couple of years and it's always a great place to grab a salad or sandwich. I was thrilled when they open up their Pasadena location. This was my first visit to this Pasadena location. Now during covid, I was able to order my food online and it was a very easy process are able to select the time that you want to go pick up and it was very seamless. I was able to find lots of parking in the lot in the back. The restaurant itself is pretty big, I can see how normally it would be packed with all the seating they have available. I walked in from the back and towards the front of the store they had a big metal rack with different layers and my food was there ready to go. Usually I get the Urbane Cobb salad with the cilantro vinaigrette. Usually I would have them sub tri tip instead of chicken but I haven't figured out how to do that on the app. I'm also a big fan of their sandwiches. I usually get one of the tri tip sandwiches and their side salad and bread that it comes with is very tasty. The food there is fantastic. Their cookies are really good too, the lemon cookie is an underrated one that I wouldn't have normally have picked (I thought it was a white chocolate macadamia) but now it's my go to choice. At the other locations, the fountain machines are wonderful. I'm sure it's probably the same deal here but I didn't take a look at it when I visited. I can't wait to come back! read more

The salmon bowl is heavenly! The salmon is perfectly cooked served with vinaigrette kale and flavorful sweet potatoes. Remember to ask them for the focaccia bread that they make fresh right there. Around $16 for the Salmon Bowl. read more

This has been the go to spot for going to a work lunch with the gf for like 3 weeks in a row. I feel like that's saying something, because it's pretty rare I'm so impressed with a salad I want to have it again and again. I've had both Abbot's Southwest Salad & the Santa Maria BBQ Chicken Salad & both are quite good. If I had a choice right now of either I would get the Santa Maria BBQ Chicken. It has more flavor overall, because of the bqq sauce drizzle combined with the dressing & because I really like goat cheese. The gf get's The Ahi and she has always been pleased with it, and loves the dressing. One one trip she got that bella portabello which had good flavor, but maybe a little greasy. The salads have always been fresh & for the price the portion is really good. I often just save the leftovers & eat the rest for dinner. I think one big win here is they are located on Lake in Pasadena which is near everything & they still maintain a fair price for what they are serving. Also, for all the times we've been there, the service has always been great & the inside (including restrooms) have been clean. Another plus is the dressings do seem to be made in house & taste really good. There is a good size parking lot in the back which you should always be able to find a spot in. If you luck out you'll find a spot immediately in back of the restaurant. Pro tip: Save the bread with your leftovers. Cube it up, add a little oil, salt, garlic powder & pepper and throw it the air fryer. Really good fresh croutons. I'd definitely return here & have been doing just that. read more

I went to Urbane Cafe on a Friday night with my family. The cafe was surprisingly empty. I thought is this a terrible sign? No. The place was actually very tasty. I ordered one of their bowls, and it exceeded my expectations. Everything tasted natural, and for the price, it felt like a great deal. This place deserves more attention. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a healthier option. read more

First off...the focaccia bread here...it's simply amazing! Dense warm and soft... definitely makes the eating experience enjoyable...I wanted more! I ordered the Santa Maria BBQ chicken salad, and it came with a good portion of chicken to go with the rest of the salad. The ingredients were fresh and typical of a Southwestern salad, but nothing mind blowing here. The space itself feels upscale and relaxing, with plenty of places to sit comfortably. My order took less than 10 min to be prepared after ordering, and it was pretty busy so I was impressed! Honestly at $10, you could walk about a quarter mile further south on lake and get 2 southwestern salads(they come w/chicken) at trader joes and still save $2. But if you're feeling a little fancier or don't want to walk all the way down lake to Trader Joe's, Urbane seems like a pretty good spot to have lunch...and did I mention the focaccia bread is on point?! read more

Keep in mind urbane cafe uses the same bread for everything (for the side bread for soup and all of their sandwiches). Though their bread is delicious, for some items on the menu, it doesn't quite work. Take the Bahn Mi for example. Bahn Mi has to be eaten with a baguette- the texture and flavor of the bread is important! However, when I was craving the flavor of Bahn Mi and ordered one at Urbane Cafe, it unfortunately didn't taste right. My recommendation is to order items on the menu that DO NOT normally pair with specific breads. Other than that, salad, soup, and ingredients are great. Overall result: I'll def be ordering at Urbane again- just not the Bahn Mi :) read more

Urbane Cafe has seemingly done the impossible. I'm not normally a fan of focaccia bread, let alone sandwiches, but this place just may have turned this doubter into a believer. This restaurant features healthy salads, bowls and sandwiches, including quite possibly every single kind of chicken sandwich you can imagine. If you're looking for healthy options still manage to be delicious, then you've come to the right place. I ordered the Turkey and Brie sandwich which also comes with arugula, herb aioli and cranberry chutney. All the flavors worked beautifully together like Thanksgiving in a sandwich. I also tried my boyfriend's chimichurri steak sandwich, which is definitely excellent for you meat lovers out there. Each sandwich comes includes a house side salad which comes with greens, mandarin oranges and balsamic dressing. The only sandwich I wasn't a big fan of was their Portobello Mushroom Sandwich. It was a rare day I felt like eating vegetarian for lunch so I opted for it. While the description sounded appealing on the menu, the sandwich itself was quite bland and lacking in flavor. That being said, it's Urbane Cafe's cookie that really seals the deal for me here. All cookies are freshly baked and rest on a warm slab until ready to be eaten. This results in just about the most perfect cookie you'll ever taste. Crisp on the edges, soft and gooey on the inside. One bite and I was like, "I can't even right now." read more

One of the best all round restaurants anywhere! The food is really fresh, tasty and high quality. The portions are a good size for the price. This is one of the few restaurants these days where I don't feel ripped off! Their Salmon is wild caught and great. The bread is delicious, and I don't even usually like or eat bread. Their cookies rock too! This is my favorite restaurant right now. And the staff are always friendly and helpful ! read more

I came here on a Friday night at about 5:35pm and was immediately greeeted upon entering. You could park on the street, which is $1 per hour before 6pm, free afterwards, or go park behind the building for free. The accessibility to the restaurant, either way, is really easy and they have doors in front and rear of the restaurant as well. My hands were dirty from leaving work in a haste, so I went to use the restroom, and it was very clean. My cashier, Audrey, was really nice and helped me to place my order of the chimichurri steak sandwich with no cheese. She asked if I needed anything else, who could resist the delicious chocolate chip cookie?!!! So yes, I ordered it! The sandwich was awesome, the cookie was awesome, and the drinks are awesome as well. Simply cannot go wrong with any of them! I was told, by a worker refilling the drinks, that the watermelon mint as well as the mango drink was made with fresh and real fruits. The beef on the sandwich was super soft and delicious! The fresh made bread is amazing. Thanks for the wonderful visit! Highly recommend this restaurant for any time of the day! read more

When I eat here I always have a great meal, however, the last time I went I notice something off looking closer I could see that one sandwich piece was less than the other. Lily was so nice and helpful. This was my first time here and she recommended her favorite Banh Mi which is a ginger and soy sauce based flavor and it was a very great and tasty sandwich. Like I said Lily was super sweet and helpful and she even gave me a cookie for my wait. I told her I would help her get a raise so this is my attempt. :) I gave this place five stars because of her. The sandwich earned 3 stars on its own. And Lily did the rest. I'll definitely come here anytime I'm in Pasadena. read more

Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and tremendous service from Daniel. I am going to eat here again with my wife.

Yay Urbane Cafe made its way to Pasadena! It is located near chipotle and panda express, so there is parking behind all the restaurants alongside Lake Ave. My previous experience with Urbane Cafe was a couple months ago at the Valencia location. i personally prefer to Valencia location because I thought the sandwiches overall, tasted better. I know this location is newer, so maybe they'll work out the kinks, but it will not stop me from coming back. Here are my other thoughts: Food: I ordered the UC Banh Mi sandwich. The chicken was cooked properly and the pickled radish mix with the aioli provided the sandwich flavor. I didn't care for the excess cilantro, so i took some of it out. Urbane is unique because their sandwiches are made with focaccia bread. The bread is really soft and yummy! All sandwiches come with a house salad. The salad is a spring mix with cabbage and some feta cheese sprinkled on top. Also, the white chocolate cranberry cookie is to die for! It is one of my favorite cookies all time. Check into Yelp and you can get a free one :) There are soups, salads, and you can even grab a bag of chips with your sandwich. Service: Urbane Cafe is a order first and pick up your food when your tracker vibrates style restaurant. The workers walk around to buss your dirty dishes and provide service, which is a plus. Ambiance: I really like how this location is decorated. The large windows provide enough sunlight on a hot day, yet the decor makes you feel comfortable. I thought the music level was a little too high. Urbane Cafe is an inviting restaurant overall. I would recommend Urbane Cafe to anyone who enjoys sandwiches. I would recommend dining at Urbane Cafe for lunch because it is a quick meal and is not very filling, a great feeling if you have to go back to work. Situated in the middle of Pasadena, I know Urbane Cafe will thrive, so go ahead a check it out. read more

05/15/2018 There seems to be a growing number of places to eat on Lake Ave. what choices do you have next door to Panda + Tea and Which Wich, there's that tall skinny banner flying outside for Urbane. Is that called Fast Casual Dining when you order at the counter and pick-up your order when that buzzer goes off? I ordered the BBQ Tri-Tip sandwich for $10.50 which comes with a side salad. When that buzzer goes off, I pick up the order at the pick-up window. It's a fresh salad topped with a couple of mandarin oranges. Tasty salad dressing but I would prefer more. One bite into this sandwich has a nice chewy spongy to this bread baked in-house. The Tri-Tip has a nice cover of BBQ sauce and the crunch of this apple-slaw. It tastes really fresh but I think I can eat two or three of these sandwiches. What that means, I definitely have room for dessert. They bake the cookies here so with samples of cranberry or chocolate chip. It's spacious inside and a nice patio near the street. With a soda fountain machine for drinks, there are three types of lemonade next to the iced tea dispenser to wash everything down. Great lunch spot if you're ever in the area. read more

The service fantastic. Warm friendly helpful. However the food. Not as flavorful as I would like but I may return. I ordered the salmon bowl. And it was not great. But cooked well. I had my eye on this spot for a couple of years but always went across the street to the other place with a similar menu. I finally tried it today and had the pesto and dried tomato w/ chicken sandwich Delicious and comes with a nice sized salad.
