Cashier was great. Patient and welcoming, since it took my wife several minutes to decide what she wanted. Even though we were towards the last hour or business,the restaurant was clean and inviting. My food was cooked PERFECTLY. Medium rare, leaning towards rare as I asked. The mashed potato was delicious and the asparagus went perfect with everything. If every visit like this, I would subscribe to the plate pass and come regularly. Please keep up the great work Brea team. read more

amazing service! thank you fransico for constantly checking on us and making sure our food came out promptly. everything was delicious and tasted very fresh. i got the mediterranean chicken bowl and it was so yummy. i especially loved the pita chips with hummus. this was my first time here and i can't wait to come back! the interior/exterior is also very aesthetic and super spacious. read more

Perhaps we're not the target demographic but we found the food quality and taste didn't match the prices and we were quite disappointed to receive Stubborn drinks in place of diet coke as this wasn't communicated at all. Food came out promptly but wasn't anything special. read more

Every Urban Plates I've gone to, I've only had good experiences - but this one in Brea went above and beyond. My friend and I went here right after our hot yoga class and they were about to close in 15 minnutes. We felt bad coming last minute but they were all so sweet there and being super cheery and friendly. My friend and I got kids meals because she had just got out the ER and I got my wisdom teeth our lol so we both cant eat big portions - but no one judged! The place is huuuuge and seating was so comfy! Everything was super clean and organized. The layout for everything was just perfect! Everyone was so nice, but Francisco was extra considerate! He was cleaning but told us to take our time to finish eating. He gave us better to go boxes for our food and gave each of us a giant cookie! Of course the food was really good and was much needed after a workout:) read more

Nice location with plenty of parking all around it. The staff were friendly and they were professional. My wife ordered the Chimichurri steak plate and the steak was great. It was tasty and it came with rice and Brussel Sprouts. I ordered the Four Up meal with four sides. I ordered beets, burnt broccoli, sweet potatoes and salad. The salad was fresh and great with the dressing. The beets, broccoli, and sweet potatoes were all amazing and were well prepared. The atmosphere was good and many people were in to eat and dine with their friends and family. My first time here and the prices were good and the food even better. read more

Fidel was an awesome cashier; great customer service. He was friendly, as it was my first time, and answered any questions we had. The food is so well presented and came out so quickly. It's such a cute, calm place to visit with friends. At the end of the meal, Fransisco was very kind in cleaning our table. He was very engaging with my table and it made the experience better. I love Urban Plates and I'm so happy that I was finally able to take my parents here to have them experience their good quality dishes and delicious food! They have an extensive menu, offering a different variety of plates, bowls, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and even burgers. Located in the same shopping center as Whole Foods, I particularly like this location because of how big it is inside. We're always able to find a table no matter what time and day it is. There's also plenty of parking, which is a huge plus. I've tried only some of their dishes like their steak plate, meatloaf, and most recently, their cheeseburger. Out of everything I've tried so far, I continue to order their steak plate because of how tender and perfectly cooked it is. It also pairs well with their mashed potatoes and gravy (the best!). I highly recommend adding the rustic bread to your plate. It's so simple, but so good! To my surprise, I really enjoyed their cheeseburger. It was the perfect portion for me (it was filled with pickles, tomato, lettuce, cheese, and grilled onions) and even included a side of fries. I would easily order this again. I love the occasional menu changes, so we know that they're always creating something new for us to try. Service at this location has consistently been super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back! read more

Ordered to-go today and the food was well packaged and tasted fresh and delicious. My kids enjoyed their dishes and already asked if we could eat here again tomorrow. We ate at the La Jolla location over the weekend and have dined at the Irvine location. We have enjoyed our meals at all these locations. As a chain restaurant the food seems very consistent wherever you go. We're happy to have this location be so close to home in Brea. We even signed up for the membership. read more

The inspiration for Urban Plates came from our desire to connect real people and real food with memorable experiences, We are committed to serving fresh, high-quality, chef-inspired meals made from scratch, delivered in a warm and inviting environment. We act as your chef advocates to ensure the finest quality ingredients for the price are on your plate. Meals are customizable and can be enjoyed in the comfort of our restaurant, as well as taken home or enjoyed at the office. We really didn't need to hear any of that especially with our daughter with us. People really need to have more class. Ryenne was our server who told us it was only his third day training at Finney's. We all thought he did a great job! He was extremely friendly, talkative seemed excited and happy to be working here. Our food was really good! We were all in the mood for some type of burger. My husband had the Wagyu Burger, which he said was excellent! My daughter had to Finney's Craft Burger, which she enjoyed. And I ordered the new Turkey Burger with it lettuce wrapped. It was really good! I ordered one order of large french fries, which we all shared and was plenty for the three of us to share. We started with the Crispy Brussels which were so crunchy and delicious! My daughter also really enjoyed her Sprite Dirty Soda. We'll definitely be back in the near future ard hopefully not be seated close to any classless patrons.

Definitely one of those spots where you accidentally stay longer than planned because everybody's vibing. 10/10 would come back for another "I'll only stay for an hour" lie.

The ingredients, textures, and flavors were all paired very nicely in each dish we tried. The presentation of every dish we had was immaculate and really elevated the experience (see pics/videos). LONG VERSION: We started with a few slices of French bread that came out fresh from the oven - it had an amazing crust on the outside and was unbelievably melty warm and soft on the inside. I kept asking for more pieces and wish I could have just ordered an entire loaf of it if I'm honest! The presentation of the Hamachi crudo salad was like a piece of art - the dish matched the presentation and the yuzu flavor was unique and refreshing. The shrimp macaron starter was very tasty and the green sauce to dip in had a great spicy kick to it. The Spanish garlic shrimp appetizer was a good size portion that we shared. It came out hot and sizzling on the plate - the shrimp was succulent and the tomatoes and garlic pieces were terrific. For the main dish, we split the uni (sea urchin) pasta. The pasta was home made and delicious. I have never had uni before and it was cool to try a unique and novel flavor but this might not be for everyone (it had somewhat of a bitterness that reminded me of the acquired taste of an olive). The sauce was definitely butter heavy and it evened out the strong flavor of the uni - I found the dish was delicious overall but it is pricey so just make sure you're aware and open minded before you order this. For dessert, we split the chocolate cake/soufflé and this one literally took my breath away and had me rolling my eyes into the back of my head. It was made to order so we had to wait for it to bake, but when it came out, the warmth and quality of the melted chocolate inside was exquisite and the proportions of cake to chocolate to ice cream was absolutely perfect (see video). We don't go out to nice fancy/French restaurants very often, and I'm so glad we indulged with this - it ended the evening in a truly special way. Restaurant ambiance was casual but elegant. Our service was fantastic - we don't eat meat or alcohol and our server helped us navigate the menu to find some great options. Overall, we are grateful for a lovely meal and would recommend anyone else to give it a try if you're looking for a unique and flavorful dining experience.

What other better place to celebrate our friend reunion at a place called "Reunion"? ;)…read more We were looking for a good brunch place to try out and found this place near Corona. Parking: I had no problem finding parking spot as the lot is huge and shared with many other businesses. Interior: We were seated right away without any wait time as we arrived when they just opened. We were seated in a dark area of the restaurant (think bar vibe) so I was a little not sure at first. Most brunch places I went to were always filled with sunlight and bright colorful interiors. This place embraced a classic, quiet feel, something like a Steak House would have. Service: Our server's name was Susan I believe, who was nice and attentive through the whole meal, despite the crowd slowly built up and filled the restaurant. She never failed to check back on us, not just once but twice and refilled our water. She probably isn't as familiar with the brunch menu favorites but seem to know more about the Main menu. The General Manager came out and greeted us because most of their customers are regulars and it's uncommon to have first timers like us visiting. This nice hospitality made us feel very warmly welcomed and impressed. Food: I couldn't decide whether to go with the Slow braised beef on the brunch menu (braised beef benedict) or the main menu but ended up going with the Main menu to get a good portion size. It was a perfect choice because the beef is just amazing. It was cooked to a soft perfection, well seasoned, the roasted vegetable was also cooked just right and not super raw/ crunchy like other places. Then the star of the show arrived - the butter cake. As Susan suggested, this is their most popular dessert and I can see why. The butter cake comes piping hot with the ice cream on top. There's a nice sugar crunchy feel near the bottom of the cake. It's so delicious that I want to come back just to eat this cake. We had a great time overall and would love to come back.
