Our order was correct and the cashier was efficient. Not too busy on a Saturday night. Pizza was good but I've had better. The garlic cheese pizza bread was just ok. It comes with either marinara or ranch. Slices are pretty big so the large and the garlic cheese pizza bread was more than enough for 4 adults. One of the better local pizza spots that I've been coming to for years since I was a kid. The quality has never changed and they've always been top-notch with their ingredients and flavor. The pizzas are great and there a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Their calzones are amazing -- definitely worth a try if you're in the mood for something a little different. Upper Crust came on recommendation from a good friend of mine who has lived in North County San Diego for 20+ years. I figured that he and his family knew something about something, so why not? I've ordered a simple pepperoni and mushroom, to their BBQ chicken pizza, and they have all been cooked perfectly and just so damn good! I try not to blow a place upon the first trip, but there have been three trips so far in a short time frame and it really is that good! COVID has obviously hated on eating out, especially the dining in part, but Upper Crust has great customer service and the order has been very simple! Phone order is a breeze or you can just walk up to their window (watch out for the small trip hazard) and wait till your food is done. My wife and I absolutely love their pasta salad!! I ordered a full order of lasagna and a small special pizza with extra cheese. When I got there I looked at the pizza and ask if this was with extra cheese. The guy said yes. There was barely any cheese on it. It was SO bland, and definitely not extra cheese. The lasagna was laughable. I have never seen a lasagna so thin in my life. After waiting longer than normal, we asked about our order and found that our food had been forgotten which resulted in an overcooked calzone. My family loves Upper Crust Pizza! We have been dining at the one in Palm Springs for years and we're so happy to find one in Oceanside so close to home. This one seems a bit more modern than the one in Palm Springs too. Always a great atmosphere, and the staff are typically friendly and eager to help. I like how the menu is still on the wall and you just look and pick. We love Upper Crist because the pizza is that old fashioned, super cheesy, thick, and hot pizza that we all remember from our childhood (80s/90s kids here). And the salads are nothing short of spectacular. We always get the largest bowl because we are a large family. Fresh, ice cold lettuce, tomatoes, I think black olive, juicy pepperoncini, and a huge helping of fresh shredded mozzarella cheese (not the powdery pre shredded stuff, this is clearly fresh). Huge helping of ranch dressing all around, and it's that slightly runny ranch that is highly sought after everywhere one goes. The bar is nice for beer, and they have the typical sodas for the kids. And the kids love that there are some games in the corner. Very nostalgic, we love it. What's more is that the vibe is usually families and a more mature crowd (at least when we go). This thing was piled high with mushrooms to the point that it was still raw dough underneath. The smell was so bad that we couldn't even eat what was salvaged. This is the worst pizza I've ever received in my life. It had SO MANY MUSHROOMS!!! Do not order multiple topping especially mushrooms! I've always heard great things about this spot but it took me so long to eat here. So one evening I decided to stop by and grab a pie with some pasta salad. This place reminds me of a pizza spot back in High School because it wasn't anything fancy and it's affordable. I LOVE this place! No complaints, just praise. Iv'e been coming here for some time and every visit is consistent. I'm alway's received with a smile and a welcome. I appreciate when the staff make the effort for the experience to be pleasant. Place is well maintained as far as i can see, bathroom's are also clean which is a plus. My order remain's unchanged so i will only speak on what i get, the mini with all toping's with a half and half salad which are sufficient enough to satisfy my hunger. I'm honestly addicted to this pizza and with the combination of the salad and on occasion a coke with light ice! Cannot beat that ultimate combination of flavor! Every time i come here i'm already anticipating the first bite. Guess the only downside is at time's the food can take a bit long but no fault to the restaurant itself, it's more of my impatient tendency to already have the pizza in hand ready for consumption ! Really annoying service tonight. Called in an order at a 5:15 they said it will be ready in 25-30 minutes. I arrive at the scheduled time and they didn't have my order- yes we verified I called the correct number. Ok honest mistake. So I place the order and they tell me 25-30 more minutes. This was at 5:50. So I go sit in my car for 30 minutes and came back to stand at the front. I was the only one standing at the front. The cashier kept making eye contact with me and going back to work. After standing for 20 more minutes I ask about my pizza and she says "oh it's ready".. like I know you just saw me standing there this whole time. And you didn't say anything ? Just sloppiness. Not the first time I've had an experience like this. Attention to detail goes a long way. Especially when you have a customer who already had to wait since they forgot to place my order after my call. Also forgot my ranch, told me the price, and I reminded them that I already paid for it. You would swear this place was being promoted by a celebrity! Why? Because there wasn't a place to park! I'm always near here and have never seen the parking lot situation this crazy! If you're looking for a hidden Oceanside gem where locals go for good, simple, classic pizza, this is it. I'm more of a simpleton and when a place makes the simple things taste great, you take notice! Their mozzarella is homemade as I'm sure everything else is, but I could of just eaten gobs of mozzarella! Perfectly cheesy and salty! Also I have to make note of the ranch dressing. I'm not a ranch person probably ever since I saw a friend of mine at Denny's get a side of ranch and put all of her hash browns in there and just started eating it from the bowl! However this ranch is AMAZING and definitely homemade! We had two classic salads, Special Calazone, and BBQ Chicken Pizza. I'm sure no matter what you get it tastes amazing! Even if you get their pasta just get a side of ranch dressing! Trust me just do it! Pizza was hot and amazing with gooey cheese and the salad definitely made me feel less guilty about indulging in carb overload.
