Cute little pizza place. Freeway close and plenty of parking. We each ordered a lunch special. We had one 2 pepperoni slices and a drink. I believe this was $10.49. Hubby had 2 slices of Hawaiian with a salad and drink. It think it was $11.49? The pizza came out within 10 minutes piping hot and fresh. The pepperoni are the cup kind and tasted great. The crust is a thin style crust and had good flavor and a light crunch. Hubby said the Hawaiian pizza was really good too. The drinks are in cans in a glass front cooler and there were a fair number of choices. The proprietor was friendly and welcomed us in the establishment. He also delivered our food to our table. There are about 4 tables for dining in and it was clean and well maintained. read more

My daughters favorite place to eat! Every Tuesday my oldest goes to a dance class and my little one always tags along for the pizza. It's absolutely perfect. It looks unassuming and there are three tables inside in case you'd like to dine in. Most people seem to place orders to go. My family and I are from out of town and ordered food to eat there. It turns out we ordered way too much and everything was wonderfully cheesy and loaded with sauce. I was surprised by how tasty the veggie calzone was as I had ordered it with tomato, onion and pep. and their heavy handed-ness with the cheese was to my benefit. My daughters spaghetti was loaded with enough sauce to be able to dip our cheesy bread into. The small pizza could easily feed two people and the cheese was overflowing on each slice. My husband actually couldn't finish the spaghetti that came with his chicken parm plate because of the amount of cheese it (he did not appreciate the sheer amount of cheese). I could have done without the Greek salad, but even that had a lot of cheese. My kids were enamored with the flavor because it reminded them of our go to pizza place by our house. I'd recommend this place for take out. read more

Extremely disappointed with my order I placed through Uber eats. I specifically ordered fettuccine Alfredo (no chicken) for my daughter who has a poultry allergy. When it arrived my babysitter let me know it had chicken in it. Since I was at a concert an hour away I had no to place another Uber eats order from another restaurant to make sure she could eat dinner. Ordered online and it came an hour & 1/2 later. Takes time to make, bake, and deliver, i understand. Was yummy. Not hot and cheese was cooled but delivery took a while so that made sense. It was obvious it would have been yummy fresh so I look forward to eating at the restaurant one day. read more

My husband and I have been seeing this spot for a long time but never made the trip in till Sunday. It was so good!!!! Pizza was delicious and even heated up the next day still tasted just as good. This is a small family operated pizza and Italian food place. A couple of tables inside and a few outside. I suspect they get a lot of take out. I was in the area and wanted pizza, so I dropped by. I remember they sell by the slice. They had several lunch specials that looked good. I just wanted pizza so I took advantage of the two slices and a drink special. It was around $8.00 total. I was taken back when it was brought out. It seemed huge. Both slices were large with a generous amount of pepperoni on them. It is a thin crust pizza, but it is run through the oven before it is served. It was served hot and tasty. I had no complaints about the pizza, quality, service or price. Pizza is good but owner harassed me about my service dog, telling me I had to take him outside. I have been here before and there was no issue with me eating inside. When I offered him the card with the law on it he refused to read it and continued to insist I had to take him outside, saying the hair would get on the pizza and that's why he hat to wear a hairnet ... but he wasn't wearing a hairnet. I try to support small local businesses so I'm sorry I won't be supporting this one anymore. read more

We called in our next order at 115pm and by 150pm our pizza slices (which are already made) were being held back waiting for our fish and chips that looked really good, it's why I came back. Butby 150pm the food was still not ready, I think they forgot to make the food. Then I asked u know what let's cancel the fish and chips and I'll just take the slices. Took an extra 8mins to get the refund. They were like u still want the food? I didn't know if they were messing with me or not so I said no. Food looks great, I just had an impatient kid with me and a cook who took 40+mins to make phone ordered fish and chips. I recall it being a delicious and a wonderful dining experience. I have been looking forward to bringing my family and friends here all week. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars, because their food is still AMAZING and their staff is super nice and I believe deep down inside that they just had a REALLY OFF night. We had reservations for a party of 9 last night. The table was set up nicely and accommodated a few extra if needed, which I thought was cool. We started with some adult beverages: an Old Fashion, some Hotel Nacionals, a Fashionably Late, and a couple of beers. Everything started great. Dennis, our server was very cool and friendly and gave great suggestions. We ordered the mac and cheese sides and they were delicious with huge pieces of savory bacon in them. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which we never received and didn't even realize it until the very end when we received the bill because of all the other issues we had... but we'll get to that in a moment. But let's talk about what did go well... the delicious food we did get. We ordered the Pig burger which was sooo good and came with crispy fries. The fish for the fish and chips were 2 huge pieces and were delicious, came with yummy seasoned waffle fries and the tiniest tartar sauce and malt vinegar. I had to request 4 more for that amount of fish, but no big deal. Dennis brought out as much as we needed. Their ranch sauce is really good too. Don't judge just because it's a little peachy'ish and looks thousand island'ish. lt's still some very good ranch. My son said he really tasted the bitterness of beer in the fish batter but maybe it was just in that piece he had; I could not taste it in the piece of fish I ate. The short rib was really tender and delicious... the sauce was just a tad salty for my taste, but the mashed potatoes it sat on sort of balanced it out a little. The fried chicken thighs were really cooked well, juicy, crispy and seasoned perfectly. We ordered two Teres Major steaks. One rare with mashed potaoes, one medium rare with grits. The rare one came out medium and without any mushrooms, took FOREVEEERR to remake (the rest of the table was almost done with our meals...& not sure why it took so long since the restaurant wasn't that busy and it's a RARE steak). The one with grits came with mashed potatoes instead of grits. Dennis was super nice and apologetic and corrected both mistakes when we let him know. He then brought us a big bowl of grits. The manager (blonde gal) came over and apologized for the mistakes tonight, letting us know that usually does not happen, and let us know she'd be comping one of our steaks and would be bringing a dessert on them. We thought that was very nice of them. However, as nice a gesture. we never did receive that dessert. My husband handed Dennis his credit card before the bill arrived (before our friends could try to pay the bill) and not sure why but our bill never came, and we never saw Dennis again either after he boxed up our leftovers and took the card. We had to ask another server for our bill because we had been waiting for quite a while... and needed to head out as we were already late to meet friends at a lounge. The other server came back with my husband's credit card, the bill (that's when I finally noticed the brussel sprouts sides we never got but were charged), and let the server know. He immediately apologized and took it off the bill. So I'm not sure what happened last night at Flying Pig...missing and charged brussel sprouts, steak overcooked, missing mushrooms, mashed potatoes instead of grits, then a comped dessert promised but never delivered. WOW. I had to apologize to my friends. I was totally hyping up this place and it underdelivered. They automatically got their 20% gratuity for our party of 9 but anyone that knows me knows how much I absolutely love great service combined with exceptional food and that could have easily been a 30-35% tip had they been on their A game! We only come to Oceanside once a year. Maybe we will try again next year. Maybe not. This trip was about trying out a bunch of different restaurants and giving honest reviews on dishes/businesses we haven't tried before, or in a long time. Do better guys.

Yes, less than the lobsters, but I have dinner for tonight, which makes me happy. Aaron was attentive and I really will be going back - it's about 10 miles west of me. People eating outside were comfy and one couple I stopped to speak with had lobsters and were very pleased! They drove down from Murrietta. Ok, that's my review. I hope the owners are pleased and treat their staff in the kitchen and in the front with respect. They are great. I don't know how to post the picture of my lobster before/after.
