These wings are hands down some of the best I've had. Big, meaty, and actually satisfying not those tiny ones that leave you hungry. The inside stays juicy while the outside has that perfect crisp without being greasy (which is rare). They come as a dry rub by default, and honestly, they don't even need sauce but if you're like me and want a little extra kick, you can ask for the sauce on the side. Consistent every time, and that alone already puts them above most spots. The only downside this time was the packaging--the boxes had visible dirt on them, and we didn't notice until we had already taken them out of the bag. I came to try the pizza because I'm Brooklyn for life. The name said Brooklyn so I had to come try it. The pizza is really good. I gave it a 4 because it's not as good as a Brooklyn pizza but came close. I think it's just missing a little bit more flavor. There's a flavor you get from NY pizza that you get even after eating the pizza. This is much better than a lot of places in California selling NY pizza. They sell by the slice too. Notified the manager and he said "Well, I put a lot of toppings on your pie" and I told him that's fine, but I did not ask for a 2-topping pizza. Then he replied "I'll make it up to you next time". Like what is this? Are you serious? Dude it's $3.00 we're talking about - just apologize for over-charging your customer and refund the money back. Pretty simple stuff but they missed the mark. The folks who run this place are really nice. The 3 times I've gone, everyone is always nice. Which is why I've gone back a few times. It's a pretty traditional hole in the wall pizza joint with a few tables but not much. A great grab a slice and go type of place. TRUST THOSE WHO YELP REGULARLY... So many pizza options out there, so we were excited to try Brooklyn Boys near home. Our first observation was a handicap parking space (ideal for my mother) directly in front of the restaurant, yet no ramp for access to the sidewalk (see photo). Once inside the gringy-looking establishment with an apparent drunkard at the first table, we noticed a young girl behind the counter along with an older couple. Realizing it's likely just a money-producing franchise, we looked for a menu. The ONLY menu available (per the elder man) is the one taped to the front window. He suggested we step outside to read it from the sidewalk. Since my elderly mother is on a walker, I stepped out, made a choice, returned to the counter, and placed an order for a $30 pizza pie . Let me cut out the fluff... - gross restroom (see photos) with no seat covers, empty hand-towel dispenser, etc. - table seating in the storage area, or vice versa (see photo) - disgustingly stained seating (see photo) - no table service - pizza was "unsatisfactory" - the $4 Coors Light in a bottle was good I will NOT be surprised if a health department closes this place down and finds rats living inside. Hard to find good pizza by the slice in north county. This one is definitely the best I've tried. $4 for a slice is reasonable too. The crust in thin and crispy, and the toppings are so flavorful! This used to be my go-to pizza joint and I raved about it to friends and steered visitors to this spot. Sadly the original owner passed away and it's now under new management. I stopped in and the choices were limited, a few canned sodas is all they had for beverages. The pizza was awful. Tasted like boxed frozen pizza and the slices were smaller. I waited a few months and gave them another chance thinking that those were just some new management and reopening hiccups that needed to be overcome. Nope. The pizza was awful, I'd rather go to Costco. Help me find my new pizza spot because this one that I just couldn't get enough of lost all its luster with the new management. They have let the restaurant fall apart with maintenance repairs and full of stock visible to customers (e.g. plates, sodas, cleaning stuff). This is good, New York-style pizza. It's thin crust and they are very generous with the toppings. We tried the popular Lasagna pizza on one side and the Brooklyn Deluxe on the other. The Lasagna is very unique with the ricotta cheese, ground beef and sausage. The Deluxe (with pepperoni, sausage, olives, onions, mushrooms, and peppers) was very good. I really enjoyed this one. It had a ton of flavor and really reminded me of how good pizza can be. They also sell pizza by the slice which is always appreciated. The Caesar salad was nice and fresh. As someone who is originally from Brooklyn NYC, I agree with the consensus on most of the reviews that the pizza here is pretty good. That's not why I'm writing this review though. I'm here to highly recommend the fried calzone. Omg, perfection. They do them either baked or fried here and since I grew up eating them baked on the East Coast, decided to try their fried version with spinach. Seriously, it's so good. Tastes like a savory zeppole filled with creamy ricotta, melted mozzarella and a small amount of spinach (which honestly was probably the right amount since too much spinach might have made it watery). It is fried so there will be oil on it but I didn't care. Next time might try baked, but will probably get another fried one with it, lol. The female pizzaiolo who works there is doing an amazing job...big ups. read more
