Anything you can get here will be absolutely amazing, as expected. I've always loved Prager Bros for their breads, especially their sourdough loaves, and their sandwiches and pizzas are no exception. I recent split the spicy Italian sandwich with my husband and the sandwich had no real kick but plenty of flavor with the use of their spices. Their house specialty red sauce made every bite come together. We had a Hawaiian pizza as well and their BBQ sauce, ham, and pineapple made the perfect combo. My husband and I both love pineapple on pizza, so this being delicious was no surprise to us. Their dough is really the star though, which you can taste that it was baked in a pizza oven. We even loved their fresh lemonade. Even better on a hot day. During our most recent visit, I did pick up a loaf of sourdough and couldn't have been happier. It was perfect in every bite. read more

I really like Prager Brothers and have been coming here for years. I recently came for brunch and to listen to the weekend live music. They've done a lot of work since I was last there and have expanded. They even have a room that you can sit inside in addition to the outdoor seating. We sat outside and watched many people, confused by where the entrance was, walk in each door before figuring it out. Maybe an entrance sign at the front would help because the one at the pizza door wasn't working. The counter is quite long now and it's not so cramped when you walk in. Plus, they have more offerings. I did notice that prices for some items can be a little bit hard to find or not listed. We asked how much palmiers were and we were quoted three dollars but in the end they ended up charging us five dollars. The staff member apologized, but I'm not sure we would have chosen that item had we known the correct price. I love the seeded baguette but it's always sold out when I get there. It would be nice if they could add a late morning bake, I'm sure it would sell out too. All in all it was a nice way spend a late morning and I really like their bread, pastries and pizza. read more

The $10 Spicy Italian sandwich was quite tasty. I especially enjoyed the hot pepper spread, and the meat and cheese stood out nicely. Not sure they offer this on their premade sandwiches but I'd bet it would be really good toasted. Pizza was $5 per slice, which felt a bit high but not unreasonable. The crust texture was excellent, so definite points there. I tried the Florentine and the sausage mushroom. Both had good toppings, but the Florentine felt like it lacked richness. The spinach added some bitterness, and I think a white sauce would help balance it out. The sausage mushroom had sauce, so I expected more zest, but it also lacked punch. Maybe a bit more sauce or added richness would help. Neither pizza was bad, and they both came out piping hot. With a few tweaks, they could go from good to really great. Best when eaten there. The crust was light, thin, crispy, charred, flavorful. The sauce was simple but worked well with toppings. This isn't going to be a burst of flavor like other specialty pizzas. Ingredients are fresh and simple. Their whole pizzas a little larger than personal sized pizzas. Three people can share two pizzas if they aren't too hungry. Service was quick and friendly. They have a cart outside for self service water and utensils. Outdoor seating only - which usually isn't a problem for so cal. Parking is ample and they also have a bakery next door. read more

The food is incredible. I always keep their sourdough bread at home and it's always fresh and delicious. Their other baked goods are amazing. They have sandwiches and flatbreads that are more like pizzas and salads. Their food is amazing. However, at this location the staff always seems bothered by the customers. They ask how they can help you but they obviously don't want to. I've even seen a couple of them making a face or rolling their eyes at a customer. Not even a gen z stare, a total eye roll. I like to come here because they offer sliced loaves but at this point I'd rather skip it and get the whole loaf from Frazier Farms where the employees are actually nice. read more

This place is very hidden, but it is so delicious. Pizza slices are five dollars, but you can also get a full pizza. Prager Brothers is known for their bread, and their pizza crust is delicious. I've been here a couple of times, and each time I'm pleasantly surprised. I would say my favorite has to be the Hawaiian pizza. I stopped by there for lunch today, and was not aware they had musicians on the weekend. It was a great day to spend my afternoon, supporting local businesses and local musicians. The service is fairly quick, they will have your pizza slices in a couple of minutes. Not a lot of ambience in the restaurant, but they do have a nice patio and they've extended their seating to the parking lot. read more

I wish I could give separate ratings for product and personnel, because the bread at Prague Brothers is nothing short of spectacular -- crusty, fragrant, and clearly made with care. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the counter service. Enter: the woman with the nose ring. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be greeted by someone who seems personally offended by your existence, look no further. Her demeanor was icy, her tone condescending, and her eye-rolls Olympic-caliber. I asked a simple question about the sourdough loaf and got a response that made me feel like I'd interrupted a sacred ritual. If customer service were a sport, she'd be playing for the opposing team. It's baffling that a bakery with such heavenly bread would tolerate such hellish hospitality. I'll be back -- but only if I can time my visit to avoid the gatekeeper of gloom. read more

One little tiny slice of old cheese pizza was $5 plus tax. The slice was very greasy and dry and the slice was not very fresh. So miss real nyc pizza where the slices are way longer and they use really good marinara sauce. And then the counter person flips the screen to tip shame. read more

Alway's buy their bread in Frazier Farms and Farmer's market and like it alot. Stopped at the Loker location today at 11:00 and ordered a pizza. Nobody waiting for any food, just a few peeps coming in to pick up bread or whatever. Counter child said it would be up in fifteen minutes. Fifteen min. go by went in to ask if it's close? "Oh, were working on it" another child tells me. Another fifteen minutes and I go back in and the twelve children working are all tripping over themselves in complete chaos. As far as the pizza....... Prager brothers listen up, you have lost quality control, the pizza was a soggy mess. You need to use an actual pizza oven not a bread oven and actually train someone who knows how to make a pie. This is what you get when you hire a staff under 23 years old and let them run with it. Prager Brothers has done a fantastic job creating their artisan bread brand and I'm surprised it took them this long to jump into pizza, as the art of fermentation and baking are essential to both products. They are just getting off the ground, but you should definitely order Pizza before getting in line for bread as everything is cooked to order and it's all a small/medium sized pie, nothing by the slice.  Prices range from $14 to $18.50 and as of this review (04/05) are open Tuesday-Friday 11-6pm with an ever expanding schedule. It's updated twice since they opened. They will soon be available for online order through I believe door dash? but the best is to call it in even though it's less than a 10 wait. (760-505-7958). Order first then get in line next door as they tend to run out as they open much wider hours. Overall they are probably using 00 flour and their oven gets hot enough on top, hence the charred bits, but the bottom doesn't leopard. There is that nice tang from a slight fermentation, probably cold. I'm not going to bore you with pizzaiolo level talk about marginal gains in processes and ingredient changes. They don't overcrowd or oversauce their pizzas, so nothing soggy, but also not crispy.  Cheese is a classic profile, but what i want to talk about is the Gochujang BBQ. Yes it has pineapple, but it works in a much more complex way with the sauce giving depth that goes beyond a Hawaiian or CPK BBQ Chicken. When you have a bread game like theirs you don't question their flavor profiles because this has more of a right to pineapples than a Hawaiian. The Florentine is fantastically light which goes against your better thoughts of a white sauce, garlic, sundried tomatoes. The shallots (which are superior to red onions) and the spinach mellow out each bite.  Service is great, it's wide open, clean, built for to go just like nextdoor. Same OS and email software, they just need to church it up a little inside. I can't wait to try their other pies as I also imagine they will expand their menu a bit. read more

once you get past the sticker shock, their pizzas are pretty good. nothing particularly special about the MARGHERITA (roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil) or the GOCHUJANG BBQ (Korean-style BBQ sauce, Beeler's ham, pineapple, red onion, mozzarella, and parmesan). both are solid artisan pizzas just not worth the expense or drive. surprisingly, given the overwhelmingly carnivorous appetites at my house, the PIZZA FLORENTINE (white pizza with roasted garlic, fresh spinach, sun dried tomatoes, shallots, mozzarella, and parmesan) was the unanimous favorite. nice balance of ingredients with strong flavors. not a huge fan of their crusts which are Neapolitan-style and kinda floppy. reheating leftovers in the air fryer helped. read more

Pretty solid! A little pricy - the pizzas are 12" or so thin crust, so a large personal pizza or very light meal for two to share. Cost is roughly $17 per pizza give or take, depends which you order. 6 choices right now - cheese, Margherita, pepperoni and olive, Florentino (white pizza with veggies), gochujang BBQ (sweetish Hawaiian), and Buffalo cauliflower. My favorite was the Florentine, try it out. Second favorite was the gochujang one - ended up being a little sweeter than I wanted. Pepperoni had Kalamata olives with it which I liked. Margherita was pretty straight forward. Would like to see some side dish options and dipping sauces (even just some ranch) available in the future. read more

I could eat here every day!!!! First time here today and I got the Margherita pizza and was delicious and had complex flavors. Can't wait to try other pies as I will definitely be coming back. So the 5 stars are for the fact that it's quality product... The amount wasn't too unsubstantial (was a good amount of pizza).. wasn't very big, but crust was thick (but airy), not too much cheese BUT that's normal in Italian style pizzas. It's on par with Buona Forchetta. Price wasn't too bad either... again on par with Buona Forchetta. I liked the taste a lot, I got the margarita and pizza Florentine.. Anyone who has been to their bakery knows they aren't merely bakers.. THEY ARE ARTISTS.. and their art is effing DELICIOUS, including the pizzas! What makes more sense than a bread company going into the pizza business...? It's a no-brainer but to this point we've had to live without Praeger's gift of the pizza pie. We've come here for their incredible bread, and sandwiches (read my review for the location next door) and now will make this as a part of our regular pizza spots. Now, what I think is going to be missed by a lot of people is how fundamentally excellent every part of this pizza is. It's simple, but every element serves its purpose juuuust as much as it should and doesn't go over the top. I don't think you're going to read anyone's review and they will say, "it's too cheesy", or "there's too much sauce", or there's just too much _____". Because that's just it, everything was perfect. And don't get me started on the crust... holy moley. It's perfectly crunchy throughout the slice (of course we ate there to make sure we got the maximum crunch). There are chewyer doughs out there but this was incredibly light and allowed for a fantastic chew. I think they're open for limited hours right now and will probably stay that way because of their location, so if you're thinking of hitting a pizza joint mid-day in the week or not too late (open until 6 at the time of this writing) then you absolutely must give them a try. read more

Prager brothers pizzas are the best in SD county. The crust is perfect, thin yet chewy with pockets of almost char deliciousness. We had the margarita and Gochujang bbq pineapple & ham pizzas. That bbq sauce was just right. While we waited for the pizzas I had to go next door for some pastries & bread. All tasty. There's a couple of patio tables outside where we dug into our pizzas. The cashier was kind enough to bring our pizzas to us at the table, much appreciated. I came prepared with my own cold drinks so we could eat the pizzas hot out of the oven. Work nearby and rarely go out to lunch due to budget. Had a chance to get out today and finally gave this place a try after eyeing it for a while. Wow - Pizza is so good. Crust was a little thinner than I liked but darn it was good. Sauce is on the sweet side which I like. Got the pepperoni and added sausage and mushrooms. For sure enough to feed 2 people for lunch, we had 2 slices leftover which my daughter took home with her for leftovers. I was expecting personal pizza size for some reason based on the pics. For the size you get and the uniqueness of the place I don't think the price is unreasonable. Pizza with 3 toppings, $22, really in-line with any pizza place that is not a national chain. Note outdoor seating only. At lunchtime the patio is sunny but the umbrella's provided shade. The bread shop next door owned by same people also have fancy artisan sandwiches that run about $8-9. I am so totally disappointed. I love the pizza Florentine because it has no red sauce. Today I decided to stop in and have a treat to take home. Wow, NEVER AGAIN. The Florentine had red sauce added and the whole reason I order this is for NO red sauce. They had a lot of orders and it sounded like they were having a hard time keeping them straight. They continue to expand and try new things but unfortunately they just lost a pizza customer. I enjoyed the pizza here. I think this is what is called Neopolitan pizza and it was executed better than I've had in a long time. I find most that prepare this style are flimsy in the middle but this had a wonderful soft, crisp and chewy crust throughout. We shared the margarita and florentine and both were good. I think I appreciated the margarita more because it was quintessential. The sauce was delicious, the cheese was solid and the crust was excellent. If I had one complaint I would say both were on the salty side. Other than that we will be back to try the pepperoni and Kalamata olive as well as the bbq with pineapple. Sounds yum! read more

I get croissants here everyday and they are amazing, but today I tried the pizza and wasn't impressed. I don't know if it's because of my history making pizza for 6 years that I have this point of view, but it's the truth.
