    Margherita Pizza

Happy Hour daily 4-6 pm Margherita Pizza ($9.50) - This was an amazing happy hour deal! I loved the freshness of the mozzarella and the crispy, wood-fire crust.

Delicious! We were walking around downtown and stumbled upon Blade 1936. The restaurant is inside of an old printing press building, we saw some of the original tile inside. The service was good. We ordered the Pappardelle with mushrooms and added a side of salmon. The plate is big and this was shared between 3 adults. We also ordered a side of Bruschetta and they gave us free bread and butter. Amongst the 3 of us, we all felt satisfied. Overall, the food was delicious and, the ingredients tasted fresh as well. The pasta sauce was soo good, I had to use the bread to scoop it from the plate.

Celebrated my sister's birthday and had a great time! We sat on the patio which had a heater. Our server was helpful and fun! We ordered from the happy hour menu which was a great value. The mussels were delicious and the sauce was so good especially with their delicious bread! The margherita pizza was crispy and the ravioli was flavorful. The bruschetta was well balanced and the caprese salad had green tomatoes which were so good. Robert, the manager, gave each couple a home made tiramisu to celebrate my sister's birthday which was so very generous. We look forward to going back soon!!

They have daily happy hour from 4-6pm! Came with some friends and we ordered off the HH menu. The portions were pretty good size and we didn't finish eating everything. Overall the place was nice, we had a server who was a bit rude which knocked it down a star.

Evan was an absolutely outstanding server. We were a party of 6 that got sat in the back room with another large party. The noise level in there was, to say it lightly, overwhelming. But even when the other party calmed down it was more of the acoustics of the room. Everything just echoed. 4 of our 6 wear hearing aids so you can imagine how well that went haha. Evan was kind enough to move us outside on their lovely patio and it was PERFECT. It was such a beautiful June day that we should have asked for outside in the first place. I will say the food was about 60/40. I'd gotten the penne Arrabiata with chicken and they just put slices of chicken on top of the pasta. Not even mixed in or with sauce which I found odd. My husband got the ribeye which unfortunately was a very thin slice and consisted of mostly fat. The others dishes were fantastic though. One got the evening special which was rigatoni stuffed with braised short ribs. Another got the cioppino which was fresh and flavorful. And the two others got the ravioli in cream mushroom sauce and the pasta with cream mushroom sauce. I will say when I go back I'll be ordering one of the mushroom dishes as they were divine.

Blade 1936 is our favorite Italian place in Oceanside, hands down! The food is great! Service is good, pastas are consistent and the pizzas are good, too! Pasta. * I can't seem to get away from ordering the parpadelle funghi. The flavor is on point and consistent after each and every visit. I fall in love with the dish every time! * They also let you customize some traditional simple pasta dishes by letting you choose your pasta noodle & sauce; just ask! * Calamari. This is a good starter, but the portion size has decreased over time.. * Tiramisu. If you like tiramisu, they do it right here! Save room, or order it first! Pizza. * Truffle. This is my favorite! The truffle is just right and the balance or arugula is perfect. If you want a white pizza and love truffle, you won't be disappointed. Overall they have a good mix of red and white pizzas - you really can't go wrong with any of them! Options for kids. It's not on the menu, but ask and they'll tell you what the options are. We asked for fettuccine Alfredo and they were more than accommodating for my kids. Instead of fettuccine noodles they brought out spaghetti noodles with Alfredo sauce ($9.50) My other kiddo had penne pasta with butter noodles ($9.50) and he cleared his plate, too! The portion sizes are just right! Everything they make has been consistent every-time. Happy Hour. 4-6PM everyday. The deals are a steal if you can make it during this time!

The service here was Excellent! We were sat down promptly and our waitress gave great recommendations and prompt service. I got the Lisa Bella drink which was a delicious Italian passion fruit drink. We also got the margarita pizza which was perfectly cooked, crispy and had excellent sauce. The pesto pasta was deliciously seasoned and the presentation was beautiful. We also got the beef ravioli with cream sauce which was delicious aswell. We will definitely be back!

A great experience in every way. Our server Nicole was incredible. We had our granddaughter in her stroller and Nicole made sure everyone was comfortable in the restaurant. The happy hour deals are awesome. We had arancini, fried ravioli and the margarita pizza. All were great. I would love to go back and order all the appetizers. Our entrees were excellent. Fresh pasta cannot be beat. We met Chef Angelo. I was happy to meet him since all my grandparents are Sicilian. The restaurant is comfortable. It was not good enough weather to be outside. You can park free in the parking garage straight ahead after seeing the restaurant on your left.

The food here is good. I got the truffle pasta mushroom dish. This was delicious. However the service and the vibes were very very off here. Some of the servers had their energy very off. The man who was our server was very nice, he made up for it. However, when we got the bill and the head of our table tipped a certain amount and we were approached by the chef asking why the tip wasn't higher. This was the second time this has happened at this restaurant. I believe the tip is based on service and the way I feel when attending the dinner. I felt uncomfortable asking for the bare minimum, which made me upset. We will unfortunately not be coming back here.

Friendly attentive waitress. Great Margarita pizza at Blade 1936 Thin crust, crispy edges, nice chewy deliciousness. Also had the Caprese salad which had very large slices of fresh mozzarella, big pieces of basil & different colored juicy tomatoes. Tasty red wine sealed the deal

We've been walking by for years and finally decided to make a reservation for dinner. I definitely suggest making a reservation as they get quite busy any night they are open. As soon as we arrived, we were seated and greeted by our server. We quickly put in our orders and we were given our drinks right away. We loved their house cab and I throughly enjoyed the Il Gallo signature cocktail. The cocktail just had a hint of sweetness but it was so refreshing. We received our apps but without the oil and balsamic vinegar that it came with, so we did have to request it from our server. We had to request refills on the oil and balsamic vinegar as well, which we were then given the bottle of each. I absolutely loved their bruschetta and focaccia bread. The bread was fresh and fluffy for both items and the tomatoes in the bruschetta were ripened to perfection and paired so well with the burrata. We were grateful for the apps because our food took just about a hour to get to us from ordering it. Once we did receive our food, it didn't last long as we loved our entrees! The portions were quite large so we did take some home. I loved the scaloppine di pollo di fungi. The mushrooms and garlic just gave so much flavor to the chicken and veggies. So worth it! I'm not sure why my meal didn't come with the garlic mashed potatoes but I didn't want to bother to ask as I knew we would just be there even longer waiting. I loved the vegetables so it all worked out. My husband's pappardelle ai funghi e tartufo with sausage was just a dream. The mixture of cream sauce, mushrooms, and sausage was just divine. I personally couldn't choose which meal was better because in my eyes they were both too good. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with anything on their menu as it all sounds, looks, and smells delicious. We did flag down our server again to put in our dessert order as we knew it would take a while. The lemon blueberry ricotta cheesecake was absolutely delightful. Quite light for a cheesecake and perfectly sweet. The strawberries and strawberry syrup paired well with the cheesecake itself. We waited about another 20 minutes after finishing dessert before we could even ask our server for the check. I'm not sure if they were short staffed on such a busy night, but it did take us a while to get service between everything and we had to flag down our server a lot. Our dinner for two took about two hours, which was a lot longer than we were expecting. Again, we had a great time and our sever was so kind, but definitely seemed he was stretched too thin. We will try to go on a less busy night to see if the timing improves!

    Tiramisu Nah not my taste

Good experience and food was good enough but we are a bit disappointed for Margherita pizza and Tiramisu. Their pizza dough was fresh and so good! Truffle pizza was great and so as cheese Ravioli. We sat outside with shade with our dogs. Service wasn't quick and she forgot my drink so I had to remind her... I don't know if we want to go back again next time we visit Oceanside.

I would like to preface this with Blade used to be our go to date night spot on Wednesdays. Unfortunately after tonight's terrible experience we will not be back. First, there was a wait because they had one server on at 4pm despite it being happy hour and date night. There was plenty of open tables but nobody to wait on them, and honestly after our service I can see why they needed to pace the seating. Our server had NO IDEA what she was doing or serving. First she dropped off an incorrect check, then dropped off another incorrect check that was double the price that it should be. I had to go to the bar to point this out. According to our credit card statement we were still charged the $160 - despite being given a credit card statement of $94 to sign. No apology was issued despite the incredibly expensive mistake. No option to speak to a manager was given either. The food tasted good as usual but the service ruined our once favorite Italian spot in Oceanside.

I had a lovely server who took the time out of very busy wave (not to mention only 2 people on the floor) to describe the whole menu to me, he was very kind and attentive. The pizza shown in the picture is a vegan BBQ smoke show, with their authentic Italian flour dough- although not gluten free (I'm not a fan of cauliflower dough) i left not feeling 'sick' or bloated. I was beyond happy that the pizza wasn't lacking in flavor or looks, very well done. If i could have devoured my pizza in one sitting i would have, but i had to bring it home. You can tell everything is made with quality ingredients. We ordered the calamari, and it was fantastic, especially with the dipping sauce. The homemade breadsticks were fresh, although I definitely recommend getting a side of marinara since they're a little plain on their own. We also ordered the meat ravioli and pasta with meatballs to go, and both were delicious. For pizza, we had the 12-inch Meat Lover's. The toppings and ingredients were fresh, but the crust wasn't quite what I expected. I wish I had taken a picture of the underside because it lacked that crispy, well-baked texture I usually look for. That said, it was still a good pizza and was the perfect size to share with my 12-year-old son. The restaurant itself was very clean, both inside and on the patio. We chose to eat outside since it was a hot day, and the harbor views gave the place a relaxing, old-school 90s coastal vibe. Parking around the harbor can be a challenge, and the shared public restrooms definitely show their age. Service was just okay during this visit. Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. The owner has always been incredibly friendly, though. On a previous visit, he even surprised my kids with free desserts, which was a really nice touch. Like many places around the harbor, prices seem a bit higher because of the tourist location. Even so, the quality of the food keeps bringing us back. This was my third or fourth visit, and while there isn't one thing that absolutely blows me away, it's consistently good Italian food in Oceanside.
