Service is very friendly and attentive. Servers know the menu and can make recommendations. Ambiance is county style kitchen. An area for improvement would be the cleanliness. All three visits called to attention a sticky floor that just does not seem clean.

Plenty of parking including several handicap spaces. Speaking solely for the (all day) breakfast, food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Over easy eggs were wonderfully runny, toast had the perfect amount of butter, the bacon done exactly right, slightly crispy but soft enough to be comfortingly chewy. And a generous amount too. Turkey sausage links were as anticipated, mild in flavor, and the silver dollar pancakes were actually pretty large and quite tasty. Coffee was okay, served in a large mug. If you want milk or cream (which is probably the fake stuff) in your coffee speak up when you order, as we were not asked. Service started out somewhat shaky but improved as time went on. You pay your tab at a register on the way out, and they have envelopes for each server if you want to leave a cash tip. They have a shelf of local jams, jellies, and honey for sale. The dessert list on the chalkboard indicated some delightful sounding pies, but I'm saving my calories at present so had to pass. I see they have two other locations, so hope to try one of the others as well next time we're between Urbana and Eaton.

We just happened to be in Dayton and knew we wanted to find a good Haitian restaurant. Rose Goute…read moreshowed up with the highest recommendation, and it was clear why walking in. Music and art on the walls making for a great dining-in experience when what we mostly get back home is take-out. They had a menu covering breakfast and lunch so we started with a fried patty with chicken from the breakfast selection. We're used to generous plates with Haitian cuisine and Rose Goute didn't disappoint. The legim was smooth and rich, deep complex flavors with some heat but by no means overhwhelming. Perfectly balanced with the diri djondjon mushroom rice. We also had a chicken plate and griot (pork.) Rose Goute has made our list for "whenever we're in town." Looking forward to Soup Joumou or spaghetti from the breakfast menu. THANK YOU!

The baked patties I tried were fish, and were extremely similar to a tuna melt and far larger than I expected as I was used to fried patties. The space was designed for efficiency and the moment I completed my patties the main course I had ordered of Goute was ready, realizing I had asked for way too much food for one sitting I asked for a box and the chef quickly brought one and boxed it herself for me to ensure everything travelled and reheated well. The pork (goute) was crisp and refreshing, served with plantains, Russian salad, spicy coleslaw, and some type of noodle dish. I was really impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and how everything just worked together in completely unexpected ways.

We had a fabulous b-day dinner at Cecil and Lime out on the outside porch…read more We started with the bruschetta, the tomatoes topping is sweet and peppery, delicious. Then we got salads: I got a wedge salad and Richelle got the Cecil house salad. Wonderful salads plenty of dressing. Then for dinner go big for a b-day: We got the tomahawk ribeye, from Woodruff farms, cooked perfectly medium rare by the staff. This was our first tomahawk ribeye, it's impressive and enough for two with leftovers. Blue cheese dip for the ribeye, yes; cold or hot, that's the question! Richelle got the Mac-n-cheese for a side, a good choice. For desert we had the tuxedo cake with ice cream and berry sauce. The staff put a candle in the cake and sang happy birthday to Richelle. This is a locally owned very nice GOURMET dinner restaurant, with fantastic staff and relaxed atmosphere. Service is top notch, waitstaff is friendly and informative. The waitstaff answered all our questions and made suggestions to make dinner out special. They bring your check in a book, so you can sign the guest book. This is their 21st year in business. We even got to chat with the owners who stopped in for dinner, and sat outside next to us.

What a wonderful evening. Our party of eight celebrated a birthday at Cecil and Lime, and…read moreeverything--from service to atmosphere--was excellent. Most impressive was how perfectly executed every dish was--the filet perfectly medium-rare, the salmon and lamb were flawless and cooked true medium and tender, the lasagna excellent, the potatoes au gratin beautifully caramelized, and the asparagus crisp-tender with a perfect char. Truly outstanding execution across the board. The restaurant matches any fine-dining spot in Dayton-Springfield but with a lively instead of stuffy atmosphere. A singer-pianist duo played jazz standards, adding a nice touch. Pricing was also very fair for the quality: most entrées were in the high $20s to $30s (the filet higher), while comparable places would be $10-$20 more for similar meals. For anyone in the Dayton-Springfield area, this is absolutely a destination. Enjoy!
