[[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the front dining room which is all comfy booths, and not a TV in sight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plenty of parking including several handicap spaces. Speaking solely for the (all day) breakfast, food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Over easy eggs were wonderfully runny, toast had the perfect amount of butter, the bacon done exactly right, slightly crispy but soft enough to be comfortingly chewy. And a generous amount too. Turkey sausage links were as anticipated, mild in flavor, and the silver dollar pancakes were actually pretty large and quite tasty. Coffee was okay, served in a large mug. If you want milk or cream (which is probably the fake stuff) in your coffee speak up when you order, as we were not asked. Service started out somewhat shaky but improved as time went on. You pay your tab at a register on the way out, and they have envelopes for each server if you want to leave a cash tip. They have a shelf of local jams, jellies, and honey for sale. The dessert list on the chalkboard indicated some delightful sounding pies, but I'm saving my calories at present so had to pass. I see they have two other locations, so hope to try one of the others as well next time we're between Urbana and Eaton. read more

My husband and I shared the chicken plate. The service was great, it wasn't busy for a Thursday night. The chicken was seasoned well and went nicely with the chicken gravy and mashed potatoes. Wish I had remembered to take a picture! The dinner rolls were nothing special and I don't care for margarine spread. The side of fried red potatoes were served with sour cream, very tasty. We stopped for breakfast on 3-8-2025, on our way to Urbana. We try to find local restaurants and Studenaker's is one of those places. We had pancakes and bacon. We only ordered one pancake, each, thank goodness, because they are large. Our waitress was excellent. One of the absolute worst dining experiences in my 55 years of living. 2:15 min from pulling into the parking lot to the cold food that we're finally served. I was yelled at when I inquired as to the time it took for our food to arrive. No apologies, nothing but excuses. Would never eat here again. read more

Service was good, friendly and prompt. The food is run of the mill mediocre. Everything as with every restaurant anymore , tastes like Sysco delivered it and the restaurant unboxed and warmed it up. Nothing special here. Honestly. I personally won't go back. I've heard several others mention this place over the last few months saying the same thing. Who knew there would be more than one Studabaker's. Mom did! When you recognize a Bill Knapp's restaurant, you've come to the right place. Everything was on point. They are known for their chicken so I had to get a piece for breakfast. If you never had a piece, at least get one to try it. The facade and interior are vastly different than the one in Nee Carlisle, but the hospitality and food remains the same. read more

There are so few family owned restaurants and often times it's easier to find a chain restaurant and settle. This restaurant was owned by a family and sold to another to carry on. The portions are hefty and as far as I know everything is made fresh. There's plenty of seatings with the ability of two back rooms for overflow or for private parties. People in this area tend to go here for a nice meal, good prices and friendly staff. If you haven't had a meal here it's worth going. read more

My biggest reason I go to Studebakers is my friend Debbie works there. I go there to support the business that my friend works at. I first met Debbie at Golden Corall in Springfield When she moved on to Mr Bons I ate there. When she went to Colliers I followed her there. When Studebaker's took over the old Colliers I went there because they hired Debbie. I live in San Diego now and visiting having a meal where Debbie's is now an old roadtrip tradition. I went to Studebakers for my first dinner in Springfield with my brother David and his family on my brother's suggestion. I had the ham and beans with red potatoes and cornbread. Not bad, nothing extraordinary. I improved it with salt pepper and Tabasco. If I had any sense I would have asked for some onions for both beans and potatoes. I felt the amount of potatoes was quite SMALL compared to the beans. I also got about the smallest serving of blackberry cooler you ever saw in your life thrown on an equally small dish. It tasted good, just not much there to taste. Brandi was our waitress. She was a sweet young girl. Very nice and attentive. Her friendliness and her smile added to the ambiance. Now that's something new. In past reviews I've wrote just writing A-m-b-i-a-n-c-e would turn the word green. We were seated in a room in the back that had tables large enough to accommodate larger groups. It was nicely decorated. they food was okay! not the best i've ever had but acceptable. we waited a over an hour for our food to come out and all we got was 2 sandwiches. the waitress failed to inform us that iced tea refills were up to $3+ each until we got a bill out of our price range and had to cut into savings. Very solid diner in the former Bill Knapps location above the mall. The restaurant is very spacious, clean, and well lit. Service is friendly and down home. Today I enjoyed the Grandpa's Breakfast platter. All of the food was prepared perfectly and served hot. I look forward to returning to try their other offerings! read more

Worst place I have ever worked. Even if you have doctor's notes the owner will try and fire you for no good reason. I had my hours cut in half because of going to the hospital and even providing doctor's notes. I don't recommend working here. Homey, country style, mom and pop meals. Simple home cooking. Breakfast and coffee are awesome and what other restaurant has a weekly Liver and Onions special. If you have never had it don't make those fake reflux sounds. Absolutely delicious. Only two exist. One in Nee Carlisle and one in Springfield near the Upper Valley mall. Or at least what used to be a mall. If your in either area give it a shot. Missing a star as the service can be a little slow and the home fries are not quite the best. read more
