Found this place by accident. Nothing fancy but ohhhh my goodness, the home style food is amazing!! Great customer service by Joe, the owner. You walk in and seat yourself. Big portions of everything. Have had breakfast here (the pancakes are to die for!); have had dinner here 3x so far. Excellent broasted chicken, beef and noodles, and chicken Parmesan. And let's talk about the homemade bread!!!! Also, a large assortment of desserts at checkout. If you want fancy, this is not your place but if you want killer home cooked food, this place delivers! really disappointed I wanted to order a new york strip steak but you can only order them on a Friday or Saturday.... really? .We asked for more bread with our dinner and the waitress seemed bothered by us asking. The young gal that was cleaning tables dropped two straw wrappers on the floor and she knew she dropped them and did not even bother picking them up. Everything was great- food, service, cleanliness, comfort, parking. We were out on a day trip and this was our first stop, for breakfast. The meals were fresh, hot and hearty. I went crazy when I saw the option to upgrade the breakfast meat to Italian sausage and it was dee-lish. Later I realized the family that owns this restaurant is of Italian descent so that was an added bonus. The eggs were done perfectly as requested. The bathroom was clean but tiny and they are just one person at a time rooms in a joint that can hold a lot of people. So be prepared. I found the "cash only tip" restriction to be very strange. As a matter of fact we make it a point to tip in cash anyway; and I have seen restaurants mention that cash tips are greatly appreciated; but I have never before seen it stated that you cannot add a tip when paying by card. My wife came here for the first time. The food was good, and service was spot on. I option fir the Sweet Cream Pancake. It was large and good. I got the blueberries which is cooked in the pancake. Too bad the blueberries were not the medium size ones. They were very small, but still tasted good. My wife got the veggie omelet without the onions. She enjoyed it. We will come back, even if it is a little drive for us. We highly recommend it for breakfast. read more

This is a nice family! Family owned and operated for three generations. Everyone is involved in this establishment. We had lasagna, grilled cheese, Prime rib, chicken tenders, burger and green salad. It easily accommodates larger parties which is a plus for us. Food was good- this is the kind of place where our grandparents would go for their big night out. My nurse Marlise is so good at her job always making sure that I know about each of my medicines and their side effects and she make sure that I keep my daily weight and then I'm checking my sugar every day she visits me once a week. I always look forward to her visits and pass visit, she was able to determine that I was in a fib and made sure that I was going to the hospital, which I was there for five days thankfully she had caught it. read more

Normally always good however tonight must of had more business than they could handle at 4:00 pm. Multiple tables empty but all were not cleaned. Sat down and server brought menus over and when I wouldn't let her lay the menus down until the table was cleared and cleaned she threw them on the cart behind the table and walked away. We got up and left. I know things are tough now to get help but I don't think asking for a clean table is too much. Maybe try again in the future. read more

Have been going to Carriage Inn for years now! Although ALL of the food (yes, all, no joke) is outstanding, my go-to is the fried potatoes with bacon and fried eggs! They have perfected such a staple, and simple, meal and somehow made it even better than I have had anywhere else?! They carried me through pregnancy and I am now introducing my son to them! The service is always outstanding, quick, reliable and they have such sweet gals working there! The ambiance is always relaxing, even on the busiest days! It really bugs me to find this review in my drafts. I could have sworn I wrote a rather detailed review about this place. My brother and I stopped in when our original plan fell apart because they were closed for the 4th of July. As I recall the food was good. Our server wasn't as friendly or attentive as I expect. The prices were purdy much in line with the new norm fueled by bidenomics. I went a second time and had a better waitress. I told the manager the second gal should train the other gal on how to treat customers. I'll probably stop in next year when I'm in the area as part of my roadtrip. read more

Take it with a grain of salt if you must, but I love places like this This is the kind of place your grandparents would've gone out to for a night on the town. For me, there's some thing just very satisfying about this kind of menu. Expect prime rib, hamburgers, and some lasagna. That looked pretty good. I got a prime rib that was good with a side of green beans and mac & cheese, and it just hit the spot for me. It's kind of a low-key place and if you are kind of snobbish, you might want to go someplace else but if like me, you have simple tastes, I just want a good old-fashioned American meal fast. Thought wr would try some place new today and stopped here. While I read a lot of very good reviews about this eatery, wr were not impressed. While the food was decent, nothing really had a Wow factor. I got the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and hot apples for $15. The portion sizes were very small and included no bread. I have never had a bad experience here.. The staff has always been friendly and the portion sizes are generous and hearty. I have tried breakfast and lunch dishes.. from the broasted chicken with hand battered onion rings to the steak and eggs breakfast with a plate sized pancake. There is always something on the Daily Specials menu that is worth trying. The fresh desserts bar is worth a look.. hard to go home empty handed.. The Carriage Inn is a locally owned family restaurant in Enon. They have specials daily. The prime rib on Friday is a favorite and the broasted chicken is outstanding. The restaurant is casual and medium priced. Sunday is all you can eat fried chicken. It is very much worth the stop to enjoy a good meal weather it be a special or from the menu. Mom and Pop type restaurant with home cooked meals. Very large selection from steak, burgers, chicken, fish, and many other items. Desserts are right up by the entrance individually boxed so you can pick what you want and take it to your seat. You seat yourself unless they are busy, and they will find you somewhere to sit. They have a few booths and many tables that they will put together for bigger parties. We have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal. read more

The club sandwich was good, but that's hard to mess up. Everything else we've had was underseasoned and overcooked. It's pure grandma fare. And not in a good way. Liver and onions on the menu alone tell you the average age of the clientele. The decor is dingy, dated and at best "Late 80s cafeteria". We call it Grannypants Junction for a reason. Only giving a one because can't go lower! The food was horrendous! My wife ordered the liver and onions, I ordered chicken with the salad bar. The chicken was, I guess ok, a little bit bland but fine! On the other hand, my wife's liver was brought out and was RAW, I don't mean undercooked, I mean uncooked! Decent "old school" spot for breakfast. Cozy, super FAST service, and you'll feel like you just stepped into "grandma's kitchen" or possibly some breakfast version of Cheers!!, where just about everyone really DOES know your name!! We've been here twice recently, after driving past it dozens of times and thinking, "Heck, we should try that place!!" I'm all for a good, comfort food breakfast every now and then, including their great carafe of coffee for just $1.59/per person, eggs just about any way you want 'em, YUMMY, seasonal pumpkin pancakes, waffles (only on weekends, waaaaaaaa!!!) and just about the LARGEST and best-looking cut of steak I've seen served with steak and eggs!! Now, for me, this is a great local stop for breakfast... Would I go out of my way for their "all American," stick your ribs, country style lunch and dinner choices (including Sunday's all you can eat fried chicken)? Naaaaah, probably not. I'm sure it's ok, but for me, this is strictly a breakfast stop. Nothing wrong with what they offer the rest of the day, but I'll take "grandma's" breakfast here any day of the week!! Now... My first visit was very good. The food was good, as was the service. The second visit, however ....... There were only two waitresses for the entire restaurant for the lunch rush, which was in no way anyone's fault. That being said, my waitress brought my food, but not my drink, and snagging her was next to impossible as she rushed past me too quickly. The chicken that I've heard people bragging about was bland. My wife and I just left the Carriage Inn having had dinner out for the first time in almost a year. We both selected the fried cod dinner Friday night special. As we were leaving the restaurant, my wife who was born in Maine and grew up in Massachusetts said "this is the best fish I have had since leaving New England" and that was many many years ago. There could be no higher compliment. The dinner had 3 nice pieces of premium cod, lightly battered and served with delicious tartar sauce. My wife and I enjoyed coming to this restaurant. We've now been here for breakfast and dinner. The food here isn't expensive, and the quality is pretty good. For breakfast, we had the veggie omelette and the sausage gravy with biscuits. If your like omelette that are extremely cheesy, then these omelette are for you, because they are filled with cheese. You have a choice of toast or biscuits with your omelette. The sausage gravy and biscuits were really good, they serve a huge portion, which is great. We had a side of hash browns as well, which were good, but nothing to rave about. For dinner, we had a cup of beef soup, a grilled chicken salad and breasted tenders with mash potatoes and green beans. The soup came out hot and had chunky potatoes, it was really good. The salad was good too, it had nice tender juicy grilled chicken on it. The tenders were really good to, we had to try them since we heard so much about the breasted chicken. The mash potatoes were really good and so was the gravy that came out on top. When you come to this restaurant, make sure you have some cash for a tip, because you can't leave a tip on your credit card payment. read more
