My server was great. The place is really lovely and I like there is now a parking garage just steps away. I started with a specialty sip cocktail - an Orange Cinnamon Bun Old Fashioned, and ordered 3 apps since they were half-priced for happy hour. The Biscuits for a Cause (2 with butter, jam and honey), Fried Pickles (chips with ranch), and Famous Fried Green Tomatoes (I don't normally like goat cheese, but these are served with stone-ground goat cheese grits) were all fabulous and I had plenty to take home after trying all. I had a glass of red blend wine with my entree, which was the Pan-Seared Salmon. My two chosen sides were the mashed potatoes and fried okra. The salmon was perfectly cooked; it was a great dish. Tried out ultimately the fried catfish and okra, the Caesar salad, and deviled eggs. The Catfish and Okra were perfectly fried with a cornmeal based batter - okra can get very gummy very quickly if overcooked, but these were perfectly fried, and the Cajun roumelade that accompanied the dish had great flavor, better than a tartar sauce would! The Caesar salad had great flavor and multiple ingredients, including some house made croutons that had a somewhat sweet flavor as if they were cornbread which was a welcoming surprise! Deviled eggs had pretty good flavor as well, paired with a little piece of bacon on top for a difference of texture.
