We discovered this small southern chain in Kentucky nearly 2 decades ago, and recommend. We were looking forward to patio dining, but management made an uniformed decision to close patio. It's not just three or four cheese sticks but quite a big appetizer. For meals, my girlfriend ordered the Cornmeal Whitefish Platter. She had fries and coleslaw and said her meal was quite good. I had the 8 ounce top sirloin dinner with fries and a small salad. The salad was a small up charge of 99 cents. The salad was very good, the fries just okay, but the 8 ounce top sirloin was not a good cut. It was very hard to eat. I got mine medium-well done. The steak wasn't tender at all and I would not order a steak here again. It looked like it was properly cooked, so I feel it just wasn't a good cut of meat. On the plus side, there are plenty of other food choices. Additionally, our server was very friendly and attentive. I still recommend but just not the steaks. What an absolute trainwreck from start to finish. We waited forever for a big table, only to be shoved into a cramped back corner where four people had to sit awkwardly on the ends. It took 30 minutes just to get drinks, and they weren't even put in until after our meals were ordered. We were celebrating a birthday, but the night was completely ruined -- everyone had to rush home for bed, the croissants were cold, and the kids were up late on a school night. The only positive part of the night was Ashley, our waitress. She was phenomenal and clearly doing the work of several people all by herself. Today I opted for a salad with grilled chicken and honey mustard dressing. That along with their famous glazed croissants make for a perfect lunch. On 12-21-25 while out Christmas Shopping , my wife and I decided to stop at one of our favorite places to eat. Today however surprised us. We stopped to eat, the door staff was friendly and sat us very quickly. They sat us in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant wasn't very busy. Once sat, we sat there looking at the menu. Not one employee stopped to ask if we needed anything to drink, or tell us that our waiter/waitress would be with us shortly. Instead we sat there patiently, only to watch other customers to be waited on, other tables being sat around us and waiters/waitresses waiting on the new customers, ignoring us completely, After 20 minutes, my patience left me and I got mad, I asked to speak with a manager about the poor service, only to be told that they would now wait on us. I know we aren't important as customers and the store could probably care less, but it's a shame that a reputable place that my family and I have always enjoyed will not get our praise or recommendations.
