One of our local favorites for dining in or for carry-out. My dear wife always insists on the large chop; she eschews the sweet potato for a baked potato, and is always satisfied -- This is a feat not easily replicated, so we continue to visit. Our Dayton Chophouse is as nice as any in this small chain. My Ribeye varies from location and from visit - several better steaks in the area, but works well with my wife's chop. Servers are well trained and a pleasure to interact with. We always question management's practice of insisting that the server who takes the order delivers the meal - too time consuming especially when server is performing server duties. read more

The Chop House - Steakhouses Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

We ate at The Chop House for many years when we lived in the area. Service was always great and the food consistently excellent! We moved to Houston in 2013 but when we go back to Dayton we always eat at The Chop House and it's still our favorite restaurant. Recently the manager helped me out with a gift card issue. She was wonderful! All around, great restaurant! read more

BEWARE diners! We had lunch with another couple yesterday and we both were charged an "emblish garnish charge of $2.00 for changing a side from pasta to rice and a baked potato to mashed. This is unacceptable and a way to extort extra profit. THE CHARGE IS NOT LISTED ON THE MENU NOR WERE WE INFORMED BY SERVER! I should have refused the bill, manager had no control but would adjust. I AM OPTING TO LET CONNERS KNOW THIS WAY! read more

The Chop House - mY MOOD AFTER LUNCH!! - Steakhouses Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

Delicious lunch. Our waitress was kind and polite. The food was good. One disappointing thing was that we someone in our party wanted to order the prime rib and we were told that it wouldn't be ready for 2 more hours. So they had to pivot and order something else on the menu. That being said, what we ordered was tasty!! The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful inside. read more

How have I not known about this place! It is tucked behind a very busy area and road so definitely had to follow my map to get there. Highly recommend reservations, they were busy. Its beautiful. Love the natural wood and stone. Kind of gave off a cozy cabin type vibe. The front staff seated us right away and were very friendly. Our waiter, Tony, took great care of us all night. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained things well. He was able to answer all of our questions. We went with the prime rib and steakburger for dinner. Prime rib was cooked to perfection and so tender. It paired well with the creamy horseradish in the side. The steakburger was tasty and grilled to perfection. The menu is a bit pricey but definitely worth it to check it out. read more

Chop House is consistently good. We have been going for years. They have a great lunch menu with deals every day including weekends. Their steaks are always cooked perfectly and the sides are great. Their blue cheese chopped salad and creamed spinach are great. Staff is always good. Drinks stay refilled and the timing of salads before entrees is timed well. read more

Good food, good service. Atmosphere is a little cramped but not too bad if in a booth. We shared prime rib and the mahi mahi with potato, rice and burgundy mushrooms! read more

Great option if you want steak. Came here since it was close to where I was staying and needed something healthy before the AF marathon. I ended up getting the filet migneon in the 9oz size with baked potato and salad. Everything tasted great and our waitress was excellent. The bread they give you also was good with the butter flavored. Overall, great place to stop at if you want some nice steaks. read more

We were traveling through and were overnight guests at the hotel next door. My husband suggested your establishment based solely on proximity. However, when we were welcomed to our table by your hospitality staff, met our awesome server (Tony) and then dined on your delicious food- it turned out we had hit the jackpot! We had a great dining experience on all levels. Kudos to your restaurant management, your culinary staff, your server Tony who provided good service and a complete understanding of your menu as well as the enjoyable entertainment! Thank you for such a nice evening with you at The Chop House! Fondly, Two Traveling Cheeseheads from Wisconsin. read more

Our team had the pleasure of celebrating a coworker's promotion at the Chop House yesterday afternoon. The food was great, the service was amazing, and the welcome received from Steve, the GM, and his staff, was very inviting. As the event planner for this activity, I reached out to the staff to secure our reservation (just last week) which was graciously accommodated in a special room, of the honoree's choice. It was a lovely afternoon, and we look forward to returning to the Chop House soon! Also, be sure to ask for Dariah, as your server. She was GREAT! read more

We have been there numerous times. The atmosphere and service is wonderful. I get the filet and my wife loves the bone in pork chop. The deviled eggs are fantastic. The quantity and the quality for the price you pay is great. We will continue to be frequent customers. Thanks for the amazing experience! read more

The Chop Shop in Centerville was fabulous for lunch today. I went with a group and we forgot to make a reservation but they accommodated our party of 7 quickly without fuss. Food came out promptly and was tasty and fresh. Tony, the server, took care of concerns quickly (in one case, onions were in the salad when it was requested to come with none). No one ordered the steak but the food we did have: chopped salads, chicken sandwich with fries, turkey meal, tortilla soup, steak burger with fries were wonderful. The fries were a perfect texture! I'd go back just for the fries. read more

Weekday Dinner (5p Tuesday). I've always tried my best to start out on a positive note and mention what they got right. Service was on it, Drink orders right after we were seated and enquired about appetizers. Served flawlessly, accurately and professionally. Dinner orders were taken. Now I will note that my always understanding wife mentions... "well, they are kind of busy and there are 10 of us".... Nice notice but 75% got steaks... I on the other hand ordered "Baked Boston Schrod". A butter cracker crusted whitefish... sounds good unless you wanted soggy, smearable cracker mush on an undercooked filet. Wife got the 16 oz ribeye medium rare. (I believe to have been the cheapest, subpar cut available) laden with gristle and cooked medium-medium well. 1/2 skewer of shrimp which were grilled to the point of a jerky style as they were fired WAY to early and spent the next 5 minutes basking in the glow of a heat lamp or alone on a plate to continue cooking until the unlucky participants disappointment was achieved. How the once Mighty Chop House has fallen. Please hire and utilize a skilled expeditor and back of house manager. Menu is too pricey to leave to the luck of "How it comes out". Their Iced tea was good though. read more

The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The flavor was there and the presentation of the food was good quality. It's a dim lit restaurant but I was pleased with the ambiance. Great place for a work gathering. read more

We've had two bad experiences here in the last year and i think we're done, despite historically loving this place. We had a reservation for my wife's birthday - us and our three kids. But they tried seating us at the bar. I refused and they figured out a way to put us at a regular table (small victory but not a point we should have had to challenge). Then my son's bread plate was dirty. My ribeye was seasoned weird, the meat was dry, spongy, tough and just overall not good. Hardly any juices. I make way better ribeyes at home. It's a hard cut to ruin. Thankfully sirloin is hard to screw up too, and my wife's steak was better to her liking. It was clear that our waitress and the manager just wanted to get our table turned to move on to someone without children - despite ours behaving perfectly well. I know we aren't a big check for a five top, but we are courteous and we tip well regardless. And besides, why have the kids menu if you don't want kids in there? Honestly guys your key demographic client base remembers life before MTV. Maybe act like you actually want the next generation of customers if you plan to stick around. Honestly there isn't really much good to say. It was not at all what we hoped for from you guys. Nobody even wished my wife a happy birthday. Why bother asking for that detail in your reservation app? read more

I love this restaurant. We visited today the 16th January, for lunch. They honored my request to sit by the fireplace. We sat and visited and no one made us feel uncomfortable . We knew it was past lunchtime and the restaurant was calm enough that no one was waiting for our seats so we stayed longer than usual. The appetizers, the bread, the fresh salad, the availability of Prime Rib any night you want it, the sides , and the service all above average and delicious . You are more than worth the 2 hr drive from east of Cincinnati. Thank you for such a lovely restaurant. We will keep coming back read more

Ate there last night with my sister first visit ever Nice clean restaurant very welcoming staff excellent waitress subpar T-bone steak dinner. I have eaten at some really really nice top steakhouses in my life, multiple Michelin restaurants I'm reading them for what they are obviously they're not serving dry age beef here and the prices are steep enough that I expected the cut of steak that I purchased to be much better than a family steakhouse style steak Very likely it will be a while before I try them again it could've just been an off night in the wrong piece of meat at the wrong time But it was also overcooked slightly definitely not medium rare. The filet side of the T-bone was practically nonexistent, maybe one legitimate bite. When the T-bone looks like that back in the kitchen, you just take the knife to it and turn it into a New York steak. You do not sell it as a T-bone on your menu. I do not know what kind of bread they serve, but they should just go to old-school sourdough or something because the bread was terrible. I don't even know what kind of bread it was. Three stars is a little generous. I think I would rate them at 2.5 stars to be honest. read more

A great lunch menu. Fantastic waitresses. One of my favorite places to go for a nicer lunch!

Saturday January 17 my wife and I had another great meal and experience at Chop House. There are multiple places around Dayton where you can have a great meal. What made our experience exceptional was being able eat at the bar and share the experience with our favorite pair of bartenders, Rocky and Mark. Their great service, conversation, friendliness and whit makes eating there a more enjoyable experience than at a regular table. Being able to interact with them is what make us keep on coming back. read more

went for dinner on a Thursday evening, had reservations, were seated right away, and went down hill from there! Food was good but service was horrible! Took our drink orders, brought the soda, but had to wait for our "bar" order. She took our food orders, brought out the shrimp cocktail appetizer, but still NO drink. Brought out salad, had to ask again about our drink. Finally got our drinks right before our food! The kitchen runners were unpleasant too! Hey people, Christmas time=BIG TIPS, not from us! Terrible service! read more

We had a wonderful evening and meal sitting at the bar. Mark and Rocky were attentive, mixed a great cocktail and were friendly while giving great meal service. Our steaks were perfect. Chop House never disappoints, but those two employees always go above and beyond to make our experience extra special! We personally go back again and again because of them! read more

The food and service were excellent. Our server handled our group of 10 with perfection. Our table was ready for us when we arrived.

Food is excellent. The crab cake and shrimp meal with fettuccine is favorite meal. Will be going back!

Average at best. Bartenders need an attitude check. Same old menu. It works if it's late and nothing else is open.

First of all, make a reservation! Thank goodness we did because we walked in and it was packed - which means it must be good right?!? It was good, it was better than good, it was great! The service was great, she was very attentive and gave great suggestions! We started with bread and a cornbread appetizer, then saved room for our dinner of course! the steaks were so good! Tender enough to cut with a fork! we will def be back!! read more

It was a good atmosphere and service was great. My only knock is that the steak while well-prepared was bland. My son also got the prime rib sandwich... it looks amazing and he enjoyed it. Our server was fantastic and very helpful with suggestions. It was a very busy night and our food took about 45 minutes to come out. When it arrived, our food was lukewarm. The food was great, service was good and the ambiance was just ok. I had crab cakes , loaded baked potatoes and creamed spinach as my meal - crab cakes weren't the best I've had and a tad over cooked. Loaded baked and cream spinach always a fan fav at this location. I started with the calamari shrimp appetizer which was phenomenal, the sweet red peppers were an amazing touch. I also had a lemon drop to drink, can't go wrong there. read more

I went here on a Thursday evening with a party of 8, my father-in-laws birthday dinner. The service was terrible. The lady who brought out our salads had a bad attitude and didn't know where any of the salads went. Our meals were brought to us in staggered order. My father-in-laws was brought last and the rest of the table had already finished. I got the grilled chicken Parmesan and broccoli. It was nothing special. My husband got the prime rib which he said was pretty good, but not great and the sides weren't hot. The bill was to be split 4 ways per the 4 couples and the waitress got this all mixed up. Initially we didn't even get a bill. Also, inside the mens bathroom there was a bottle of chemicals just sitting out in the open. For an $83 bill this just wasn't worth it....the food or the service. read more
