Our Dayton Chophouse is as nice as any in this small chain. My Ribeye varies from location and from visit - several better steaks in the area, but works well with my wife's chop. Servers are well trained and a pleasure to interact with. How have I not known about this place! It is tucked behind a very busy area and road so definitely had to follow my map to get there. Highly recommend reservations, they were busy. Its beautiful. Love the natural wood and stone. Kind of gave off a cozy cabin type vibe. The front staff seated us right away and were very friendly. Our waiter, Tony, took great care of us all night. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained things well. He was able to answer all of our questions. We went with the prime rib and steakburger for dinner. Great option if you want steak. Came here since it was close to where I was staying and needed something healthy before the AF marathon. I ended up getting the filet migneon in the 9oz size with baked potato and salad. Everything tasted great and our waitress was excellent. The Chop Shop in Centerville was fabulous for lunch today. I went with a group and we forgot to make a reservation but they accommodated our party of 7 quickly without fuss. Food came out promptly and was tasty and fresh. Tony, the server, took care of concerns quickly (in one case, onions were in the salad when it was requested to come with none). No one ordered the steak but the food we did have: chopped salads, chicken sandwich with fries, turkey meal, tortilla soup, steak burger with fries were wonderful. The fries were a perfect texture! Weekday Dinner (5p Tuesday). I've always tried my best to start out on a positive note and mention what they got right. Service was on it, Drink orders right after we were seated and enquired about appetizers. Served flawlessly, accurately and professionally. Dinner orders were taken. Now I will note that my always understanding wife mentions... "well, they are kind of busy and there are 10 of us".... Nice notice but 75% got steaks... I on the other hand ordered "Baked Boston Schrod". A butter cracker crusted whitefish... sounds good unless you wanted soggy, smearable cracker mush on an undercooked filet. Wife got the 16 oz ribeye medium rare. (I believe to have been the cheapest, subpar cut available) laden with gristle and cooked medium-medium well. 1/2 skewer of shrimp which were grilled to the point of a jerky style as they were fired WAY to early and spent the next 5 minutes basking in the glow of a heat lamp or alone on a plate to continue cooking until the unlucky participants disappointment was achieved. How the once Mighty Chop House has fallen. Please hire and utilize a skilled expeditor and back of house manager. Menu is too pricey to leave to the luck of "How it comes out". We've had two bad experiences here in the last year and i think we're done, despite historically loving this place. We had a reservation for my wife's birthday - us and our three kids. But they tried seating us at the bar. I refused and they figured out a way to put us at a regular table (small victory but not a point we should have had to challenge). Then my son's bread plate was dirty. My ribeye was seasoned weird, the meat was dry, spongy, tough and just overall not good. Hardly any juices. I make way better ribeyes at home. It's a hard cut to ruin. Thankfully sirloin is hard to screw up too, and my wife's steak was better to her liking. It was clear that our waitress and the manager just wanted to get our table turned to move on to someone without children - despite ours behaving perfectly well. I know we aren't a big check for a five top, but we are courteous and we tip well regardless. And besides, why have the kids menu if you don't want kids in there? Honestly guys your key demographic client base remembers life before MTV. Maybe act like you actually want the next generation of customers if you plan to stick around. Honestly there isn't really much good to say. It was not at all what we hoped for from you guys. Nobody even wished my wife a happy birthday. I love this restaurant. We visited today the 16th January, for lunch. They honored my request to sit by the fireplace. We sat and visited and no one made us feel uncomfortable . We knew it was past lunchtime and the restaurant was calm enough that no one was waiting for our seats so we stayed longer than usual. The appetizers, the bread, the fresh salad, the availability of Prime Rib any night you want it, the sides , and the service all above average and delicious . I have eaten at some really really nice top steakhouses in my life, multiple Michelin restaurants I'm reading them for what they are obviously they're not serving dry age beef here and the prices are steep enough that I expected the cut of steak that I purchased to be much better than a family steakhouse style steak Very likely it will be a while before I try them again it could've just been an off night in the wrong piece of meat at the wrong time But it was also overcooked slightly definitely not medium rare. The filet side of the T-bone was practically nonexistent, maybe one legitimate bite. When the T-bone looks like that back in the kitchen, you just take the knife to it and turn it into a New York steak. You do not sell it as a T-bone on your menu. I do not know what kind of bread they serve, but they should just go to old-school sourdough or something because the bread was terrible. I don't even know what kind of bread it was. Three stars is a little generous. I think I would rate them at 2.5 stars to be honest. read more

I went here on a Thursday evening with a party of 8, my father-in-laws birthday dinner. The service was terrible. The lady who brought out our salads had a bad attitude and didn't know where any of the salads went. Our meals were brought to us in staggered order. My father-in-laws was brought last and the rest of the table had already finished. I got the grilled chicken Parmesan and broccoli. It was nothing special. My husband got the prime rib which he said was pretty good, but not great and the sides weren't hot. The bill was to be split 4 ways per the 4 couples and the waitress got this all mixed up. I am visiting Ohio for a few weeks and was feeling like a steak dinner, and some nice cocktails. The chop house was nearby, so we decided to give it a go. The first impression when I walked in was that it smelled like a dirty carpet, the ambience was nice overall, but the smell was not pleasant, they could really use a nice carpet cleaning. We ordered a couple of cocktails and this was the worst part of our experience. I had an old fashioned and my wife had a gin fiz variation with elderflower syrup. Her drink tasted like fizzy water, there was no trace of elderflower syrup in it or alcohol. The old fashioned tasted like watered down whiskey, no trace of orange, and the biggest crimes they used crushed ice and shook it instead of stirring it. After a single sip I decided to return both drinks and we stuck with water. When I told the waitress the drinks were terrible she took them away, and without prompt a burley man, assuming the manager came by to ask us about the drinks, I told him they were terrible and said I just want to return them. He said he will take them off and left without apologizing or asking for any details. The food was mediocre, the fillet was tasty although it felt like it was frozen before being cooked. My wife's lamb chops were undercooked, although she had asked for them to be well done, she also ended up having a stomach ache the following day. Overall, I expect better service and quality of food when I am spending over $100 on a dinner, and I felt like they didn't really try. I have had better cocktails at a sports bar.
