Upon walking up, the boarded up door was a lil jarring. The interior was standard for Mission. The woman at the register was pretty dry, but the other woman expediting orders more than made up for her coworker's flat affect. She was warm, energetic, and courteous. I had never tried their burger before, and I ordered the mac & cheese which I normally love, and a side salad to go with it. The burger was slightly under seasoned, but it was thick and juicy, and overall pretty good. The mac wasn't bad, it just didn't quite taste the same, but the salad was crisp and fresh. We're meeting up with the grandparents and me and the two Littles were sitting at the table, holding the table and one of the hostesses just walked up with a thing of fries and said would you guys like some fries. I didn't order them and it was good for the kiddos. That is caring how kids feel, that is Superior service. I love the atmosphere. It's very pro veteran and pro-American and it feels like a place where they love the things I love. They have excellent barbecue brisket barbecue pork. I love their sides. The corn is good. My sweetie says she is enjoying the biscuit and the green beans are like melting your mouth. She says she is really enjoying those. She's sampling the sauces as she works away through it. She likes the South Carolina one best so far cause she's a fan of the mustard. They have good options for the kiddos with mac & cheese or other kiddos centric sandwiches. They have small slider sandwiches for the kiddos. My oldest says this: the mac & cheese is not box mix. It is made in house. The pulled pork sandwich is very tasty. I'd like the smoky flavor. The waitress also brought out some Cajun corn samples, I'm not a very spice loving person. Corn was good, but I didn't finish it. All in all the food was tasty. My second oldest says: I got mac & cheese and it's really good. It is not box mix actually it's made of real cheese and I also got the turkey sandwich which is really tasty. It's not overcooked and it's not undercooked. It's like perfect and there's none of those disgusting micro plastic filled cheese in it, which is really nice. My mom gave me a bit of her cornbread and it's really sweet and also a bit savory too, which is like the perfect combination and it's it's pretty good. Grandma says the food is very good. She likes the seasonings on it. She got collard greens with it and says they are excellent. Nice selection of sauces at the table, I prefer to taste the meat but they were pretty good. I had the two meat platter pork and brisket and added a couple ribs to get a feel for their meats. Brisket was offered moist or lean, of course I went with moist. Nice flavor and seasoning, I would prefer a bit more bark but tasty. Pulled pork was moist but needed sauce not much flavor. Mission knows how to B-B-Q! Great selection of meats and sides. We tried a pulled pork sandwich with side of corn casserole and a pulled chicken sandwich with a side of fries. Order at the counter, take a seat, then they call your name when it's ready. The food was delicious. Meats were tasty. Corn casserole was awesome, and the fries were crispy. They have six sauces to choose from, all on the table. My favorites were Smoky Mountain and Memphis Belle. Some of the best BBQ I've had in a while. I can't help myself, they deserve it. A full 5 stars with absolutely everything really awesome! A bit of a tardy review from early May. Front end service was strong at the register. The staff assisted me with a selection of something I never tried. No issues processing my card. The dining room was spic and span and in no time my order was called. Love that they crank out such delicious food quickly and with a smile. My salmon was amazing!!! Also fresh side salad so yum. Decided to go back up for their legendary peach cobbler since my entree was on the healthy side. Do not miss this season desert in the Spring. I've never found a poor Mission BBQ before. The place is decorated in military memorabilia, but I will say this. The food was very good and I can't wait to come back and try other items. The exterior was spotless, and the military/first responder theme was clear before I even walked in. Inside, it's a tribute wall of service--military photos, law enforcement, fire, and EMS patches (I'm guessing donated by patrons). As a first responder myself, I appreciated the respect baked into the atmosphere. Pro tip for first-timers: You order at the counter, grab your own drink, and find a seat. When your food's ready, they call your name and bring it to you. Simple, efficient, and no awkward "who's my server?" moments. I went with the pulled pork sandwich, fresh-cut fries, and a sweet tea. Love the concept of mission bbq and their patriotism. When you arrive you get in line and order your food. They give you a number and someone brings it out to you. The meat was tender and good but not very hot. There are several different sauce options on the table which is nice. You get corn bread with your meat and I ordered a side of mac and cheese. Everyone working here was very nice. The service was great as was the food. The atmosphere is patriotic with customers standing for the National Anthem while I was there. As a veteran I appreciated this immensely. Although they do not offer a veteran, or military discount, they DO have a veterans VIP club linked on their site. I got a free (huge) sandwich of my choice from the sandwich menu - delicious! I'm local to this place, and it was my first visit, and I assure you it will not be my last. The pulled pork and brisket was delicious. The Mac and cheese was fabulous, although the portion was pretty small. The salmon was not good at all....very dry and really no flavor. The owner/manager I am not sure which he was but very nice and was involved on making sure everyone was happy. Joe Laisure, the Dayton area Director of Operations along with the founder of Mission BBQ, Stephen Newton, got involved personally. Was immediately greeted upon entering and found the place very clean. Definitely could smell the smoker smoking meat which is important for a bbq place. The counter individual was very nice, pleasant and helpful. After ordering we found a place to sit which was also clean. They actually had a person in the dining area cleaning up tables as people left. Nice to see they like a clean environment. Food was really good and enjoyed the brisket sandwich I had. Mac & Cheese was a bit dry for me but others at the table enjoyed theirs. Tried all 6 sauces at the table and are good. I have always had a great experience and the portions were enough to feed me and have enough to share. My experience here was completely different. We ordered double brisket it looked to be enough for a sandwich. The baked beans with brisket had one small piece of brisket. The only bright spot of the meal was the fries.
