There was plenty of parking and signage. They have a varied and very authentic menu to choose from! We ordered a broth based lo mein noodle bowl and a hand pulled cold dry noodle bowl. BF added on a braised egg and I ordered a Taiwanese sausage on a stick. Yum on all accounts! Chili oil was automatically brought to us and the waitress was super friendly as well as bilingual. Food was brought out within 5-10 minutes of ordering. YES!! presentation and taste were perfect. Their prices and portions are reasonable and I love everything about this place, down to their cat portraits adorning the walls! Wish this place opened a location in Cleveland! A hidden gem in Dayton, of all places. I haven't had many Asian restaurants of any kind that tasted authentic in Dayton, but this is one of the few. The noodles are actually made in-house and have a lovely texture. I got the Classic Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup and was definitely not disappointed. The broth is light, but full of flavor at the same time. It is truly very comforting on a cold winter night. I think the beef slices on there are a bit tough, but it's not too big of an issue. The portion sizes are actually crazy. I got the regular size and could finish maybe just half to 2/3 of the noodles, along with a majority of the beef. I can't imagine how massive the large bowl would be... For health, I also ordered some stir-fried bok choy. This was stir fried well, but I'm not really sure what the flavor profile was supposed to be. Is it garlic? Is it spicy? I couldn't really place it. The pickled veggies were a bit too pickled for my personal taste, so they overpowered the rest of the dish, making it too sour for me. I have been a regular customer at Kungfu Noodle for a long time and, because of my work schedule, I eat here almost every day. Unfortunately, a recent experience has convinced me that I will not be returning. I placed an order and requested "no meat, more vegetables." I was told that the kitchen was unwilling to provide extra vegetables unless I paid an additional charge. What disappointed me most was not the charge itself, but the attitude behind it. It felt as though reasonable customer requests were viewed as an inconvenience rather than something to accommodate. This is also not the first time I have heard kitchen staff complaining about customer requests. In the past, I have overheard complaints about customers asking for less salt or making other simple modifications to their meals. As a long-time customer, it is extremely disappointing to hear staff openly express frustration toward paying customers for such basic requests. The attitude was unprofessional and unfriendly. After repeatedly hearing complaints from the kitchen about customer orders, it becomes difficult to feel confident about how special requests are handled behind the scenes. I have supported this restaurant for a long time, but this experience has left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. How the heck have I not reviewed this place yet?! Because when I tell you they have the best noodles I've ever had, I'm not kidding! The dan dan hand pulled noodles are my favorite dish in all of Dayton, maybe of all time! The noodles are bouncy, fresh, and the perfect vehicle for that nutty, velvety sauce. The chili oil - out of this world! The crunch of the veggie in the noodles (they look like green beans but I think it's a type of small pepper) are my favorite bits. The meat is sweet and salty and absolutely delicious! The sweet bbq sausages are a yummy starter too! Sweet and tangy and a great price. This place is a true hole in the wall. The hostesses are always so kind and I've seen a man demonstrate how he makes the pulled noodles almost every time I'm picking up my order. Inside is cozy and clean. We placed an order to-go and walked around the market while it was prepared. We ordered dumplings, chicken fried rice, and chicken noodle stir fry. Lunch portions are around $10. The chicken fried rice was hearty, but a bit bland. I added a significant amount of sriracha to give it more flavor. My SO really enjoyed the chicken noodle stir fry. I didn't taste it, so I can't comment but she mentioned the sauce tasting really good. The dumplings weren't good at all. The dough was too soggy, essentially falling apart and the filling was too dry. We only tried one each and threw the rest out. Overall, our experience was hit and miss, hence 3 stars. Came here on a Sunday evening as a party of two. There were two other tables with customers. The establishment itself is so run down/in renovation. We thought it was closed. It also doesn't help that it's in the middle of nowhere. The staff were having their dinner and serving us which was interesting to say the least. The service was helpful enough. It was way more than enough food for two people. The cucumber salad could've been fresher, that's for sure. The Noodle soup lacked flavor, which we dumped the Dan Dan sauce and chili sauce into. The Dan Dan noodles were the best I've had. So flavorful. As for the Szechuan wonton/dumplings, so homemade and delicious it made my tongue go numb! I will have to say the food is the most authentic and traditional Asian dishes right from Dayton but recipes straight from traditional Asia signatures dishes. The ambiance was low to moderate noise level. Cute and quant restaurant with about 10 tables. The service was definitely a five star based on the fact that we arrived and was immediately greeted with a bright smile from our server Maria. The appetizers were served in less than 10 minutes. The entrees were brought out to us piping hot in less than 15 minutes. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered pan fried dumplings and steamed dumplings. The dumplings came with a soy and rice vinegar sauce homemade from scratch. We ordered the garlic bok choy which was super fresh and full of flavors. Highly recommended the bok choy. We ordered sides of the cucumbers and the pickled cabbage. The cucumbers were a good start to the meal. It was fresh and lightly season with spices. The pickled cabbage was aged well. It could have used a little more flavor. We also ordered Dan Dan Noodles definitely a bit on the spicy side but all the noodles were hand crafted or no artificial ingredients. Next up we ordered Chicken wonton soup and Braised beef noodle soup, and Braised Pork over rice with Bok Choy. The soups all had freshly made hand stretched noodles. The broths were all homemade and fresh tasting with the right amount of flavors. All the dishes were pretty amazing with the right amount of flavors and spices. The restaurant is relatively small and so we were lucky we got there in time to beat the lunch rush as it got busier with time. I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and my wife ordered a stir fried pork noodle dish. Our friend got the braised beef noodles in soup. We also ordered homemade dumplings as an appetizer. Kung Fu Noodle is a great noodle place! I've eaten here multiple times and it's typically a good experience. I like that they offer chili sauce with the noodles so you can dictate your own spice level. The place has an authentic feel and they're so fast with the service. Usually the Chinese fried donuts are delicious but the last time, they were cold. I would not recommend ordering them ahead of time, even though I asked for them after the meal. We asked for more information on how the noodles are hand stretch and the noodle chef gave us a personal demonstration that we videotaped and attached to this review. The write up says the chef was trained in China, and many Asian reviewers have attested to the various dishes' authenticity. I got the stir fried chicken with hand pulled noodles and my son got the stir fried. pork with hand pulled noodles. I didn't know the difference in the types of noodles, so I gambled on the 3$ hand pulled upgraded, and wow was it worth it. The flavor of the chicken, vegetables and, of course, the noodles was outstanding. They had a steady flow of customers as well. Not really. Stopped here during a restaurant research ride around Dayton. This is a really tiny establishment that probably seats 14 people maximum if everyone squeezes in. Hilariously, they still have plastic sheets hanging between tables that are two inches apart. Would not want that in my face when trying to eat. There's a small counter with a huge plexiglass sheet that has a tiny little slot at the bottom for passing money. Like some of the 24 hour bodegas I remember from Queens just without the rotating item delivery box. But again hilariously, the counter guy naturally has to come out from behind his 'shield' to hand you your purchase or to speak to you. I realized it's kind of a 'fast' Asian food place and there were no available seats so I ordered cold noodles to go, figuring on munching away in the car while we continued our tour (I was pretty hungry). I was not pleased when I opened the bag to find it was packaged Ikea-style: one container tightly packed with the noodles and cucumber slices, and one with the sauce. No possible way to enjoy it as street food, had to mix in a bigger bowl of my own at home. I am big on cold noodles but really didn't care for these. They were extremely thick and squared, and the texture just made me think of tofu. The sauce had some underlying taste to it that I didn't care for. Not saying it was bad, just not my taste. To be fair - IF I was in the area, and IF the plastic sheets were removed, and IF there was room to sit and eat, I would stop back to try out their interpretation of Dan Dan Noodles.
