    Sesame red bean ball

My mom, sister and I stopped in for lunch. We started with the croquettes, one each corn, curry and pumpkin. These were really good and fried well. Crispy and not at all greasy. I had the mala sichuan ramen, which is a newer offering. Our server described it as spicy with a floral taste. She was spot on! I really liked the flavor-it is definitely spicy. However, mine bordered on being so salty it wasn't edible (for me). But the flavors were so good. My sister got the tonkatsu, mom the seafood ramen. Both looked good but we did note mine had the best veggies, including lotus root. The pork is roasted, which I prefer. We finished with one mochi each and sesame red bean paste balls. Again, fried really well and the rice flour has a nice chewy texture but I like more bean paste. My sister liked these as-is, not liking red bean paste as much. Service was very good, friendly and helpful. Overall, a really great lunch break. I'd go back and try another ramen or one of the donburi.

We had to come and see what this restaurant had to offer. We were visiting friends on campus and one of my friends mentioned a quint ramen shop so of course we could not pass it up! We had to come and check Hoshi Ramen out! It was very cute walking in and seeing lots of different japanese decorations with Scooby-Doo episode playing behind the bar. Immediately felt comfortable as a nerd coming here to get some food. We actually reserved a table ahead of time for the 5 of us and they were excited to accommodate. We sat down and the server started service with waters and our appetizers. We ordered the Chashu fries, the chicken karaage and the seaweed salad. Everything was fresh and tasty! Then we went in ordered our respective ramen bowls. I acquiesced to a spicy seafood ramen bowl. Because spice and seafood is the best combination. The noodles were chewy. The vegetables were fresh. And best of all the broth was light and savory. This a great place to try. The even have a description key to aid in the menu if you didn't know what it's from. 5 stars!

After being promised Ethiopian if I stoped to take my son for a haircut on the way home from his volleyball game yesterday, there was a last minute change of plans. My husband decided to save Ethiopian for a day we can get there earlier enough to get kitfo, which is often sold out by 7 p.m. He surprised me with a new to us restaurant. It was very good! My husband did his usually thing and asked the server what he should order. The server was excited to share his suggestion of tantanmen ramen. My husband enjoyed it. He asked if it had a peanut butter flavor, and I had to remind him that it has sesame tahini. The chicken based broth was very tasty. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. This one has a pork based broth. It was tasty. But the broth was a little bland. The pork belly was very good though. My daughter ordered what I think was the best ramen of the night. She had the seafood option. The broth was flavorful and had a little kick. The highlight of the meal though, was the chashu fries. The meat, cheese, and sauce loaded on perfectly cooked fries was such a satisfying bite. We also ordered edamame, the beans were not over cooked or too salty. We also order shoyu ramen to go for the goblins at home. I only tried the broth, and it was very tasty.

Really exceptional vegetarian ramen! I ordered a tofu bao, seaweed salad, and edamame as well, and it was all good. The standout was the vegetarian ramen though; I added egg and extra mushroom to mine. Maybe the best vegetarian ramen I've had!

My family is big fan of Ramen we probably tried 20+ places , Hoshi is very clean and fast , Broth is not artificial like some other Ramen Franchise, but the Ramen I ordered is overly salty , meat is very chewy , it's a ok place for quick lunch but if I have choice I will go to the other Japanese restaurants by Costco ( close by crumble cookie )

Robbie provided the service and he was cheerful and worked real hard for the table. He was spot on for the e ute meal. Our glasses were always filled and plates removed on completion. He handled a party of 10 flawlessly. Had the tonkatsu bao. It was very good. It was a bun was a tad bit sweet but the pork paired with aioli was very nice. Went with the curry ramen and side of chicken katsu for the meal. The katsu came out a few minutes after the curry. I waited for it to add it to my bowl. That was the right call. The chicken katsu lacked salt and a little flavor but went well into the ramen bowl. The noodles were cooked perfectly in the ramen dish. The broth was also flavorful, the corn and onion went real nice together, the crunchiness of the katsu was excellent. The pork belly in the dish was a little bland as well. Overall nice dish.

    Chicken Bao Bun

I have been craving ramen and since I've seen bao bun tacos on TikTok, I've been dying to try those too!! I am not disappointed!! Everything about this visit was spot on! The service was spot on! Our server was friendly, our drinks never ran dry, the team worked together, our food was fresh, hot, and tasty, the ambiance was comfortable, and the cleanliness was definitely spot on!! The teriyaki chicken dish was not overly sweet and sticky as most Americanized Asian food is. The ramen seemed very authentic and hit the spot for me. I'm not sure but I think they make their mochi. I've had the preordered stuff before and didn't really care for it but I loved everything about this mochi. Even my son enjoyed it and he didn't like it the first time we tried it either. Word of the wise is, not all mochi is created equally! Please revisit this if you've tried it elsewhere and didn't like it. The only thing is... for this food experience I had to accept that I was going to upset my body as there were no options for gluten free. Obviously bao bun is not GF and that's what I wanted to try. Ramen could be served with a rice noodle option but they don't have it. You could order one of their rice dishes but it's sure to have soy sauce that isn't gluten free, and the meat was coated and fried in something not GF. Moral of the story is if you have celiacs just stay away. Gluten intolerance? Weigh your risks verse's benefits and deal with your decision. Lastly, the vegetarian options are not fully vegetarian... like Worcestershire sauce. So if you're vegan... skip on this one. You have no options here. Otherwise, come one come all and eat your heart out!! It's good stuff.

They have lots of menu items and I've been twice and both times were just okay. I really wanted to like the ramen but it was bland, which was surprising because the pork was delicious--there is much potential. They have a "secret" Korean menu that you can ask for, which is great for more options. I had something from that menu once but it felt like they were slightly stingy with the protein so the majority if it was just noodles.

A decent place near Wright State. Their Bao and Croquettes were excellent. I would definitely get them. Their Ramen was decent and had a good flavor. The staff were friendly and polite. The service was good. They also have some board games in the restaurant as well. The ambiance was good.

5-Amazing stars for this exceptional restaurant. First, let me lead with the fact that this menu is so inclusive for any dietary restriction or food preference. Second, the prices are amazing, especially if you're not sure what you'd like and want to try many different things. My husband and I came on a date night and were thrilled with each and every item we ate. We ordered the KARAAGE BAO & SHRIMP BAO buns as an appetizer. I personally love the texture of a bao bun and was so excited to see so many protein options offered. I will say the shrimp and chicken bun were not all that different, both were delicious but the flavor differences were subtle. For our entree we knew we wanted to try a ramen dish as well as a Donburi dish. We opted for the Shoyu Ramen (Tokyo style, chicken broth infused with soy tare, tamago, scallion, wood ear mushrooms, menma, and chashu) and the Curry Don (Light Japanese curry with potatoes, carrots, yellow onions over steamed rice). Both were excellent! My husband and I kept passing them back and forth. Our waiter was so helpful in helping us decide and also let us know that they can meet many dietary restrictions at the restaurant, which is great for our little one who has food allergies. One of the most exciting things about this date night was that we had the two bao buns, a. Ramen dish and a curry dish as well as two glasses of wine for around $60. You can't beat that!

    Curry with katsu
    Nicole S.

I've been there twice, and definitely plan to return. The first time I went, I had katsu curry; it was pretty good, though the curry was a bit watery and made the rice soggy. It still tasted great; just wish the curry sauce was thicker. My friend got ramen if some sort and loved it. The 2nd time I went I got three different types of bao buns; I think it was the katsu, karraage, and tofu. The karraage was rly soggy for some reason so I didn't really like it, but the other two were good! The place is clean, service is fast, and pricing is pretty okay. I will say it feels very empty, though. Wish they served boba! Or onigiri. Or takoyaki.

Had the curry don, chicken fried rice, tantanmen ramen, and tried the bao buns also! Everything was fantastic!

I absolutely love Hoshi Ramen and recommend it to anyone looking for amazing Japanese cuisine. Tonight my partner and I had dinner here and it was wonderful! We were greeted very quickly by our friendly server who was attentive throughout. We both had the Rhinegeist Wok Star Japanese lager that is made specifically for this restaurant by the brewery. Delicious! We followed this with an appetizer of Tofu Bao and Chashu Bao. Their Bao is a work of art visually and amazingly perfect tasting. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture because we were too busy enjoying them. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen and it's a wow! Visually pleasing, deep umami flavor and sooo good! The pork fell apart it was so tender and just a stunning dish. We ended the dinner with Green Tea mochi. Overall I couldn't recommend Hoshi more! Completely perfect dinner!

It's a small unassuming building with fairly limited seating, but just enough for those in the know! Service was quick and super friendly despite them having a busy day, just remember to pay at the register when you are done. The fish dishes are super popular because they were out of them when we went, so that's next on our list to try!

I honestly don't know how I haven't review this restaurant yet!…read more The food is great, it's one of the few dedicated Korean spots in the area. I have tried quite a few things on the menu, and my top two are the ojingeo-bokkeum (stir fried spicy squid) and japchae (stir fried noodles made from sweet potato starch). They are both consistently delicious. I like that they will make things actually spicy if you want it that way. Too many places will tone down the spice level when I order it as a 4-5/5. The banchan is always good too! I have tried to make the cheonsachae (kelp salad) at home, but it just doesn't taste the same. I could eat my weight in that stuff! The restaurant itself isn't much to look at, it's a bit old and run down, but always seems clean. I have never used their bathroom, which is located around the back of the building. My husband uses it every time we go and he's never complained about it. The servers are hit or miss. The last time we went we had a great server, but sometimes they can be less bubbly than most Americans prefer.
