My sons and I just moved to the area and decided to get some general tso and honey chicken. I called the order in and it was waiting for me when I got there, which I appreciate. The dining room wasn't huge but may be ample space for lunch. The general tso was great! The boys didn't care for the honey chicken, it had real honey and they are used to the "flavor stuff" I thought it was pretty good, just different than we are used to. The crab Rangoon was delicious! They said it would be ready in 5 minutes which should have gave me an idea it was going to be bad. I ordered yellow Thai curry and it said online it came with miso and ginger and instead I got a yellow Chinese curry. No soup or ginger salad. It tastes bad and is just water, not sauce. This place was small but we enjoyed our food. We got steak and chicken hibachi. Fried rice was included for both with veggies. Also came with miss soup and salad for lunch. I loved the steak, it was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The rice had a good flavor to it too and even had corn, carrots and peas in it. The sauce was different than what you'd get at Sake, less sweet but this one almost had a smoky flavor? I don't know what was added to it but it was great with the rice. Chicken was just okay but I'll definitely get the steak again. There is more chicken given in the lunch portion than there is steak though. The Boba milkshake I got was very good and very sweet. One of the reasons that we love Yelp it's to discover new and yummy places. This was our second time in here in the past month. I'm glad that people posted to not let the outside intimidate you and they were so right. Once you enter, the place is so cozy, clean and pretty. The service was great and so was the food. Yelped a place to eat for Christmas Eve while in the Dayton area. Tokyo came up with a good rating so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. It was Christmas Eve so the streets were basically empty as was Tokyo. The waiter was very nice. We ordered the Fried Spring Rolls, Pad Thai 3 meat, spice 4. Yellow Curry spice 6. The waiter brought us our appetizer and as a bonus he added another appetizer. The Fried Spring was great and the dipping sauce was spicy and good. The bonus appetizer was something Salmon type fried dumpling. I will post a picture of it. Oh man they were so good. Miso Soup as a bonus too. YUM Our main course of Pad Thai and Yellow Curry was excellent. Just excellent. The service was perfect and the food was a solid 5 star. Passing through and staying at the AFB FamCamp, we went for sushi here. Very nice, small place. Server was great and had an Alaskan Roll, rainbow roll, California roll and tuna roll. All were very fresh and good! Hubby said the Alaskan roll could have more salmon. I had a yummy pot of hot jasmine tea. I've been in the area on and off and have looked to try this place. I was working at the Dunkin next to it so figured why not. At first, glance coming in, I wasn't sure what to expect because there wasn't a set theme to the ambiance. I noticed a fair enough of Thai dishes as well as Japanese dishes so I figured I'd go Japanese since the name is "Tokyo". I tried the teppanyaki (chicken) and the green Godzilla roll. The teppanyaki was actually pretty good, the sauce had a strong sugar base to it I suppose it was a teriyaki. The chicken could have been seasoned well prior to grilling it was a bit bland but with the sauce, it was saved in my eyes at least. The Sushi came out I was a bit confused about the overall look of it but I realized it was shaped like Godzilla. They were not your rice wrapped version but had an outer layer I couldn't quite figure out. Anyhow the overall flavor was pretty good I couldn't figure out if the rice was done right or not so I ordered a nigiri for the sole purpose of testing the rice and in fact it was vinegared - I couldn't get that feel from the rolled sushi but they did a good job on the Nigiri. The staff was very friendly (actually more friendly than the owner), they gave me a fried gyoza app on the house. I tried to ask a few questions to one of the owners but she ran off before I could. Looking for some curry we stopped off here. They didn't appear to have Japanese curry on the menu so I ordered the Thai Red Curry, level 10. The curry had great flavor and tons of veggies but the spice was more like a level 4 or 5 (I eat SPICY food). The beer was cold and the gyoza was good. I'll be back to try other menu items. Should've known better. Restaurant is in an older strip mall is an old fast food restaurant. The restaurant has a 4-leaf clover on the sign..perhaps a red flag? Ordered pad thai and the dancing dinosaur roll. The Pad Thai had so much fish sauce you could smell it when it was brought from the kitchen. The Dancing Dinosaur was an explosion of flavors (not in a good way) encased in a doughy tempura attempt. The eel in it was super fishy, way more than ita supposed to be --- but again maybe I should've known better - getting sushi in a land locked state... Don't let the exterior discourage you. We went for dinner on a Friday night at the recommendation from a friend. Inside was spotless, neat, and orderly. Outside needs some landscaping and the parking lot needs fixed- but assuming they rent the space? That's not their concern and won't be counted against them. They were not busy at all as I've read they are super busy during lunch- which makes sense with the base nearby. We were seated right away and greeted by the kindest staff. They knew we were new and not frequent flyers which was appreciated. More than patient with us as we navigated the many selections they offer with excitement and anticipation. We started with iced Thai tea without boba and were excited to taste that it wasn't overly sweet like the many others in the area. We ordered three starters- crab Rangoon, spring rolls, and gyoza. All delicious and freshly prepared. Our meal consisted of the philly roll, chicken katsu, and chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai was cooked to perfection with LOTS of egg and chicken. This dish is worth the value! I got a spicy level if 4. Didn't taste any spice so next time I'll try a 6. It was also a little sweet which I don't particularly care but I know may others like. The server made the comment they don't allow first timers to order the top level of spice. I found this interesting because how else with a guest know if they like it or not? Server also mentioned the katsu sauce comes from a jar. Disappointed to hear that as it's so easy to make. The katsu was crispy, light, and not at all greasy. Again huge portions! The sushi is delicious and at exceptional price for the size rolls you receive. Without hesitation I recommend this place to enjoy a laid back, quiet dinner. The food is excellent and the presentation and packaging show that the staff and owners care. This was the most well packaged takeout meal I've gotten all of quarantine!!! Food came out so quickly and tastes amazing! The chicken in the Curry and Fried Rice was very tender and moist. The spice level 2 for the Curry was the perfect amount. The Lo Mein has a smoky taste to it, a bit dry for my liking, but my cousin seemed to enjoy it. The Miso Soup And Mini Rangoon that was free was so yummy! The avocado sauce that it is sitting on was such a great pairing to sweet and savory! The Miso Soup has the right amount of bland and salty. The sushi was so good and the first thing that came out. they have private parking. the staff is pretty nice and friendly, as we looked over the menu our server came over and made sure we knew everything we needed about the menu. they have specific levels of spicy not he food so be careful when you choose the 0-10 scale cause after 7 eat at your won risk! - PINA COLADA BUBBLE SMOOTHIE- pretty delicious and comes with whipped cream as well! they make a legit bubble smoothie. - PAD THAI - it was a pretty good pad Thai, I am not a huge fan of the peanut it comes with but this one I nearly noticed the peanuts, if I could improve something in it I would say that I could go with a little more egg in the mix here. - MISO SOUP- the miso was ok, they were super nice and gave us the miso on the house with our meals even though we were ordering from their Thai menu and not the Japanese. - FRIED FRISH- they gave us a sample of fried fish this sample was pretty AMAZING! Let me start by saying this place is absolutely amazing! On arrival to Tokyo I was questioning the rating and recommendations I heard. It's small, looks run down on the outside. On entry it's nice and simple and inviting. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We talked about a number of the options and she made some recommendations based on our likes. Hands down, the best Asian restaurant in Fairborn and about as good as Akashi for sushi, which is saying a lot. The real feature here is the rotating specials. The chef receives fresh seafood and produce on a regular basis. I've never been disappointed with my meal here. I recommend the truffle tuna appetizer and the chirashi. read more

Impressive maki is served here, and it's definitely a place worth checking out. We had never been to this place back when it was Pearl Bay, but I believe they used to serve Thai here. This Tokyo restaurant now serves sushi, hibachi, and Thai cuisine. They also serve boba tea. Their selection appeals to the previous Pearl Bay customers, but is centered to a wide selection of sushi and hibachi items. Today, we tried the green tea boba, yellowtail jalapeno appetizer, and 2 maki lunch specials (the 3 for 10.99). The boba tea was not bad. It wasn't too sweet (compliment) and the serving size was good. I enjoyed the flavor and would order it again... Maybe with a few more pearls, but that's a personal preference. The yellowtail appetizer was delicious! I definitely recommend trying this. Compared to other ponzu sauces... this one was balanced very well. Not too much vinegar taste, like a few places nearby. The maki rolls were a real stand out in comparison to the other sushi places in the area. Look at the composition of the rolls - seriously, it's impressive. You can tell that the rolls are well made and also, they have the best rice to ingredient ratio in the area. As far as the specific ingredients, all rolls we ordered were enjoyed (see included pictures). Though I am not a big fan of finely minced spicy tuna (I prefer the large pieces), I still found the roll to be delicious. I'd order it again. We tried 6 basic rolls, but if you look over the menu, they have many interesting combinations that we will come back to try. I am interested in seeing the craftsmanship of the speciality rolls, and hope there's pictures posted soon of them! We also had three pieces of nigiri (see picture) of mackerel, salmon, and white tuna. Note that I'm extremely particular about nigiri, so while they were decent, they weren't my favorite. (Choe's still has the best quality nigiri in the area). So, besides the excellent maki, another notable aspect of this restaurant is the service. Though the staff is of few words, they are very friendly through their gestures and when they answer questions. They are eager to give their customers a great experience - this was evident and appreciated. Prices here are normal for other local restaurants of this category, however, the lunch specials are available even on the weekend. This is a huge plus! Sorry for a longer review than normal, but I'm certainly now a fan of this place. The care that went into the quality of the maki made me reminiscent of the legendary Saya's (RIP) original menu. It may be too early to make that judgement however. ... we'll definitely be back to try more of this menu! read more

The sushi tastes fresh and the staff is polite. The only reason why they get 4/5 stars is that the food is good, but not as good as the sushi or ramen in Miami, Florida & the sushi was not tightly packed so it unraveled at times. Went for lunch while moving a child into Wright State. Tokyo is a couple of miles from campus. Small beer selection with the generally available Japanese beers and I had a Kirin Ichiban. Miso soup was good (for those that like miso soup). Ginger salad was ok, but hit the spot when really hungry. 2 of us had the chicken pad thai. It was outstanding. My wife had a 4 and was satisfied. I had 8 and could have used a touch more. My son had the Godzilla and Bansai rolls and both were good. Prices for lunch were reasonable. I would return. read more
