Monday night dinner, I was surprised by the size of the place and how nice it was inside. The food was also good. I went with the shiitake tempura mushrooms and spicy scallops. The tempura mushrooms were ok. The batter was a little heavy and not the light airy tempura batter you usually see. The mushrooms were good and had good flavor. The scallops were excellent. The use a heat scale of 2 - 9 with the spice starting at a 6. I ordered a 6 on the heat. The heat was exactly what I expected, spicy but not ridiculous but it built over time. The scallops were cooked almost perfectly. The scallop dish carried the night. The service was not very good on the night. It took an inordinate amount of time to get through each step to include drinks. The scallops were good enough to rank as overall 4.

I love a well balanced chicken pad see ew....10 out of 10 on the spiciness of the dish.1 out of 10 on the amount of chicken in the dish. Good portion of vegetables( carrots, corn, & broccoli). Definitely would revisit. Perhaps dine in the next time instead of take out.

SOOOOOOOO GOOD! Service was great, we didn't have to wait very long to be seated. Overall, great experience!

My pad Thai chicken was fantastic. the waiter Gary was great explaining the spiciness of the food. My wife had chicken green curry spice #5 she says it's perfect just right. They were very busy on a Saturday night but moved the tables quickly. The presentation was very good. Next time we come to Dayton OH we will be back with friends.

This place was recommended to us by a local. We went in a little later on a Sunday night and while we waited a bit to be seated, our service was really good. The restaurant is a big and nicely decorated plus there's a decent sized patio where we asked to be seated. After being informed about the heat level of the pad Thai, we ordered at 3 or medium. And coco shrimp, mexican sushi roll and hot and sour soup. The soup was really good and had big chunks of chicken along with lots of mushrooms. My favorite part of the meal was the coco shrimp and the yummy honey mustard sauce that comes with it. The mexican sushi was fun and our pad Thai was just the right amount of spice- maybe a little hotter than we expected but good!! This was definitely a great find. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming as well as the staff who were knowledgeable and friendly. The patio seating was really nice and relaxing.

We had my son 16th birthday here! I was in town from Vegas to celebrate my son, he loves Thai food and sent me Thai 9 as a suggestion. I had been here years ago and was so excited to go back! When I made the reservation the staff was extremely nice and accommodating which I loved! When we arrive we were greeted and put in an area where we could talk, laugh and celebrate my son! The restaurant was so beautiful inside, the last time I went we sat outside. The bartender made me a lemon drop that was to die for!! The overall experience was amazing and most importantly my son enjoyed his birthday dinner! Thanks Thai 9

Here are 3 of them. There were more than that.

My experience here was totally ruined by being placed to the right, in the back, by the kitchen entrance. That area of the restaurant was overwhelmed with houseflies and fruit flies! Well, why didn't I ask to be moved to a different spot? There were plenty available. That is valid. I have a hard time complaining...it is something I need to work on, especially when it is warranted. But I also feel like shame on this place for actually sitting people in an area that is infested with flies, and also shame on them for not even bothering to try to clean the area up a little bit, so the flies won't want to fester in that area. The waitress saw all the flies! It's a good way to turn somebody off and and have them leave a bad review about the restaurant. The food itself wasn't bad. It was the experience that was unacceptable.

Whenever I visit Thai 9 I know I am going to be having amazing food and service. The sushi rolls were both fantastic and I have been craving them every day since. My noodles were delicious, however I ordered a spice level 8/10 and they had no spice to them. My friend who ordered a 2/10 reluctantly tried them and was also shocked at the lack of spice. That would be my only critique from an other what fantastic meal.

Vibe restaurant! Conveniently located in the Oregon district with plenty of walking opportunity to see shops after a meal. We got a few assorted rolls, however they did forget one of the rolls we ordered. I've had better sushi elsewhere but their menu is quite diverse and I'd be interested in trying their thai options. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the mango roll and crab rangoons. Inside, it's decently packed on the weekends, so service is nice and as accommodating as they can be

I love Thai food in Dayton and especially love this place! Great prices, lots of space in the restaurant for big parties, and really tasty food. I always get the Thai coffee/tea - never misses. I also like the red curry and spicy Thai basil fried rice. And even if you're full PLEASE get the coconut ice cream, it is heavenly. Service has always been great! Workers are well trained and prepared.

This place had a cool vibe. They have transformed an old building into a really cool place to eat in the Oregon district of Dayton OH. The appetites we got (crab rangoons and shrimp bed?) were a great way to start the meal. The sweet dipping sauce was an excellent pairing with each item. Then our food arrived. Taste was excellent. Menu is VAST with something for every tastebud. We didn't order sushi but man, something for everyone. My fried rice was excellent. Cool thing is they let you pick the heat level. I picked 5 and probably could have handled 6 or 7. The Green Curry comes at a base level of 3 and my wife found it hotter than she would like but ate what she could even though it was hot. The Oregon district looked like a neat place to hang out. The city blocked off the streets to allow for free walking to and from the various eateries. You do have to pay for parking but it was only $3 and we didn't have a hard time finding parking. We were there on a Friday night around 6. It was an overcast evening so it may have cut down on a Friday night vibe. Not sure. Thai 9 is definitely worth checking out. Our server seemed distracted and not overly helpful but that isn't anything we would hold against Thai 9.

Will you ever re-instate some kind of delivery system or partner with another deliver service since 937 delivers has ceased operations? I miss being able to order delivery from my favorite Thai restaurant in Dayton :(

Can you get carry out on Saturday nights?

Normally yes. If we get very busy we stop taking carry out orders in order to take care of the customers sitting at the restaurant.

This restaurant is not on Brown st. It is on 5th in the Oregon District. Im not sure who needs to edit/fix that?

Our address is actually 11 Brown Street. We are just off fifth street in the Oregon District

It's a lot bigger inside than I thought it appeared outside. The decor was cute. She always gets panang curry-it's her favorite. I got the pad kee mao (Drunken Noodles), my usual first dish for a Thai place. My noodles were thinner than what I usually get but I really liked it. My dish also had a great balance of vegetables and protein. I appreciated the spice level reflecting the 4/5 I requested. I was a bit concerned about this because the server reiterated the 5 scale when I ordered. My sister thought her curry was a bit spicy for her requested "1" spice level but not far enough out there to be an issue. Service was efficient and we never ran out of water-especially important with the spicy food! Portions and price were good-I ate all of mine but really shouldn't have, and with tip, spent ~$40 altogether. We didn't get drinks or an appetizer. I visit the area often enough and am looking forward to returning to try other dishes on the menu. Hopefully we will have a larger group to split an order of Dayton Rolls. It was hard to pass on these.

I've never had Thai and was very apprehensive but quickly agreed since she was enthusiastic about going. I only ordered the crab Rangoon, which is always my go to if it's available. Let me start by saying, I've had a lot of crab Rangoon in my lifetime and those were definitely in my top two. Wow! I liked them so much, I ordered more as my meal. My friend ordered the Khua Kling which is a chicken and rice dish. I'm not a fan of hot (spicy) food hence my apprehension for this eatery however, she wanted me to taste the chicken and it was quite delicious. As far as spiciness was concerned, she ordered it to be 3 on their scale of 1-5 with 5 being the spiciest. I had a small bite and the flavor profile was full and robust and I did not feel any heat, initially. After a few seconds, the heat worked its was onto my palette but it was not too much. Granted, others who are used to and/or love spicy food may think it's mild but for a novice like myself, I felt it. Again, I want to emphasize, the flavor was very heavy bodied and I do look forward to visiting again and expanding my Thai food experiences. So if you're in the mood for freshly prepared Thai cuisine, Numprik Thai Lao is a sure bet.
