Please don't equate the size of this establishment to the flavor of their food!! I had a lunch date with a friend who said she loves Thai food and has been wanting to try this restaurant. I've never had Thai and was very apprehensive but quickly agreed since she was enthusiastic about going. I only ordered the crab Rangoon, which is always my go to if it's available. Let me start by saying, I've had a lot of crab Rangoon in my lifetime and those were definitely in my top two. Wow! I liked them so much, I ordered more as my meal. My friend ordered the Khua Kling which is a chicken and rice dish. I'm not a fan of hot (spicy) food hence my apprehension for this eatery however, she wanted me to taste the chicken and it was quite delicious. As far as spiciness was concerned, she ordered it to be 3 on their scale of 1-5 with 5 being the spiciest. I had a small bite and the flavor profile was full and robust and I did not feel any heat, initially. After a few seconds, the heat worked its was onto my palette but it was not too much. Granted, others who are used to and/or love spicy food may think it's mild but for a novice like myself, I felt it. Again, I want to emphasize, the flavor was very heavy bodied and I do look forward to visiting again and expanding my Thai food experiences. So if you're in the mood for freshly prepared Thai cuisine, Numprik Thai Lao is a sure bet. read more

I absolutely loved this gem of a restaurant. I have been on the hunt for the best drunken noodles, and this place climbed to my number 1 spot. We also had the chicken wings as an appetizer. I really wanted to like it here. Honestly... the menu is impressive and the food tasted really good but at the end when we got our check I realized... $15.95 for noodles was the basic price and if you get it with meat it's additional. That's actually my fault 100% for not paying attention. $21 for a beef drunken noodle would be fine if the portion was decent but it's not. There was very little beef. Most noodles. My husband got a Thai Spicy which had good flavor but again.... Small portion. The fact the rice came on the plate told me it was not in fact a dinner portion. The atmosphere was very nice and everything seemed clean. Service was dry but not bad. read more

Yes! We haven't visited in a while and their renovation is wonderful and very comfortable. Place filled up minutes after we got there, so glad we went before 5:30! Came here for dinner on my down to the airport. Nice little stop. There is a small parking lot outside. Quaint little restaurant. The workers were all friendly and attentive. We all ordered a cup of tea. The tea glasses were much bigger than we expect. Very relaxing. The menu has many typical Thai dishes. We ordered a couple appetizers which were yummy. I ordered a basil dish for my entree. The ingredients felt fresh but I wish there was a little more basil flavor. The portions were an okay size, I wish they were bigger for the price. This is a hidden gem in downtown Monroe!! I do not get out here too often but I will always stop by when I have the chance!!! The place looks very clean. The bathroom is a little outdated but well maintained and clean. The staff was clean and friendly. If you like Spicy foods the heat levels on some of the meals go from 5 to 25. I ordered the orange chicken at a level 3 because I've become a sissy with the spice levels. It was tasty. The color threw me off at first because it didn't match the normal orange chicken I've had else where's, but it tasted very good. Wife had the Spicy Thai Noodles at a level 5 because she can handle the spicy stuff. She said she enjoyed it also. The restaurant is in a large white building that sits directly across the street from the City of Monroe building. Signage for the place is small and hard to see. My family and I have been here a handful of times and the food is always delicious! Not a ton of seating inside and definitely better if you have smaller groups of people. However the service is always great. The owners and staff are nice and always serve delicious food. Some of our favorite dishes are the drunken noodles, green and red curry, papaya salad and basil fried rice. They can replace the fish sauce with a vegan/vegetarian friendly version which is nice if you don't eat meat. The papaya salad is probably my family's favorite dish -- so good! We typically go for a spice level of 4 and it has the perfect kick for us (we like spicy food). Definitely recommend visiting if you want delicious Thai food! read more

This place is great, and in an unexpected place (downtown Monroe) for good Thai food. A broad selection of menu items paired with a spice level that goes from 1-5, or if you're feeling saucy, up to 25! They were doing a brisk lunch business when I visited on a weekday. I've been eating at Numprik for years & it's by far the best Thai I've had to date. I've started to really explore different items on the menu & haven't been disappointed thus far. Today I tried the beef pho & papaya salad. I was hesitant to try the pho after having tried it somewhere else with disappointment but I was determined to like it after watching Anthony Bourdain on no reservations love it time & again. It was incredible as was the papaya that I've seen made on several other cooking shows Ive watched. The flavor profiles are umami. I also suggest trying the teas. This is an amazing Thai place. Run by a family and I'm glad we went here. The place is small (6tables and a small bar), but the flavors are amazing. The staff are very friendly and polite. We got 1. Pot Stickers (5/5) Nice flavor and the sauce was a perfect pairing. 2. Cha Su Bun was good. 3. Pad Cha (5/5)-This was recommended by the staff. The highlight of our meal. This is a fish dish (I am not a big fan) but damn, the flavor, the crunchy fried fish. The fish was moist and crunchy outside. I would get this item all the time. We just loved this quaint restaurant. We entered one hour before closing;however, our food was fresh, hot, and very delicious. When traveling for days you really miss a healthy meal, but here we were very pleased with the quality of food, it was very fresh, and the service was so friendly. Heard about this place from my daughter decided to try it. GPS will take you there but sort of hard to find not much signage. Sort of small eating are but there were lots of carry out orders being placed. The food was very good. I had Thai spicy with the level 3 it was pretty spicy but good. I also had the egg rolls. I didn't care for them, they seemed like they were the frozen kind. Not sure. I wish they were closer I would go often. read more

I believe this is the absolute best Thai in the area. I have gotten a couple different dishes here and every single one has been delicious. My favorite is the pineapple fried rice with chicken. I typically get a level 3 spice (out of 5) and believe that has just the right hint of spice. Dishes are reasonably priced as well at around $15 a dish. Okay this is a seriously hidden gem. First, it is a small little out of the way place that you would never expect to have the quality of food or customer service that it does. Second, oh the food... as a foodie I have to say this was some of the yummiest food I have eaten in a long time. An amazing meal. I had the Thai Sausage fried rice, a wee bit sweet, but oh so good. I mean I could eat this every day and not tire of it. I also sampled the Pad See Ewe and the Drunken Noodles with Chicken those were also amazing. Third, I had a mango bubble tea that was fabulous, I mean it was the best bubble tea I can every remember having. How can you go wrong. I have no idea if they even have dessert, the food was so good I couldn't stop eating, I almost licked my plate. Okay I am not that guy, but I could have been, it was that good. This place surprised me for a fun little lunch spot, if you are anywhere near here, drive out of you way and come get a meal. I almost hate to say this as it will now have a waiting line out the door, but I can live with it as long as I know they will be around. Seriously, you haven't gotten in your vehicle yet and driven here for lunch or dinner... better get moving. They are closed on Monday's so don't show up then and blame me. Delicious! The only word that can describe the food. Unfortunately, it's very easy to walk past this restaurant and dismiss it. It's a whole in the wall restaurant with the quintessential thai cuisines you'd see at any upscale restaurant. What left me coming back for more was the appetizer. The delicious savory pork on the stick and the pineapple fried rice are enough to write home about. The prices and portion sizes are huge for the offering. I am so happy we found this restaurant! I have been looking for good Thai food for years. My usual place closed down years ago. This is located in the old Red Onion location. It's small and off the beaten path. We were seated right away. There are only a few booths/tables, so time your visit right. We started with the shrimp and cream cheese rolls. They were very good with a sweetness to them. My first meal at any Thai restaurant is Pad Thai. I got the chicken with a spice level of 2. I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor was great. I have found that some Thai restaurants use spice to cover up the lack of flavor. This pad Thai had a great flavor and the right amount of heat.
