Inside restaurant

What an amazing surprised that I have in Dayton. Visiting the town for the week and I had a chance to check out this little gem . The restaurant is spacious with a lot of tables and beautiful decorations. I love the simple but elegant look. The food is amazing and authentic, they have a lot of vegetarian options if you are looking for that. The service is speedy and very attentive. The one item thag you must order is their salt and pepper tofu, it is so die forrrr. Definitely , recommend the place for everyone.

Sesame Chicken

Got take out from Fu Mon Lau after seeing all the good reviews. It was ready in about 20 minutes, and packaged well. My SO got the chicken and broccoli. I tried the sesame chicken, and we split crab rangoons. Overall, it was pretty good. Sesame chicken had lighter breading than at some other restaurants, but that was oddly appealing. Very large menu, so I would be interested in trying more entrees. Prices were super reasonable for the amount of food. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a place with a good mix of different types of Asian food.

Chicken with Mixed Vegetable ($13.95)

Highlight: Beef Ho Fan ($13.95), Chicken with Mixed Vegetable ($13.95), Salt & Pepper Chicken ($14.95), Braised Beef Brisket in Clay Pot ($17.95), Sizzling Scallop w. Black Pepper Sauce ($22.95), Stir-Fried Pea Tips w. Garlic ($16.95) One of the few places in Dayton that offers Chinese dishes. All of the dishes came out hot and steamy. Had a homey taste and overall well seasoned. Lots of variety on the menu, ranging from meats to veggie dishes. Portions sized well, good for large groups. Hospitality: Fast service, I like that the food came out as it was ready. Honorable Mention: They offer live seafood in water tanks.

This place is a gem! The food was amazing--especially the lobster, which was super fresh and came straight from their live tank. You can really taste the quality. The service was excellent too--staff was friendly and very attentive. Can't wait to come back!

Fu Mon Lau is a hidden gem. Nice decor and sesame chicken was excellent. Love that they give you a brown rice alternative to white rice.

Pretty standard Chinese fare. Fresh fish on the side and the usual options. Tasty, big venue, loved the fish Family tried something called Bigmouth fish and we loved it.

If you are craving your higher end Chinese food make sure to check out this place. Right by the dayton mall so alot of traffic, parking is limited (we had to park at the Mexican restaurant next door) and no entrance to pull directly in. The inside is very spacious that could hold larger groups coming in, they also offer round tables that seat 6 with a lazy Susan in the middle of the table. The staff was all very nice and seemed to help each other out. It was busy however we did not have to wait long for our drinks or food. We started with appetizers $4.95 green onion panack you get 2 perfectly cooked finger food that is full of garlic and green onion taste. The are super thin and crispy. No sauce is served with them and really it doesn't need it. But I am a dipper lol and dipped a few bites in soy sauce which was also very good. Drinks we got water and they don't serve fountain drinks it's all bottled with no refills (Pepsi products) pepsi zero was $2.50 Dinner we had Chicken and mixed vegetables $13.95 huge portions served with rice easly could feed 2 the chicken is so tender and in kind of like a teriyaki/brown sauce the vegetables are cooked perfectly to have still a bit of crunch Lobster special for 2 $67.00 served with rice definitely could be enough for 2 to 3 people. The lobster is lightly fried and cut up cooked with pieces of sausage, green onion, and garlic. Definitely a staple everything we come.

Beef Ho Fun

Glad I was able to find this gem while in the Dayton area. The Beef ho fun was absolutely delicious! I'll be back!

I arrived at noon and the parking lot was already pretty full for this very unassuming Chinese…read morerestaurant from the outside. There is plenty of free parking which is nice. When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

Spicy Dumplings w/ chili oil - Excellent Crab Rangoons -…read moreAbove Average+ My family ordered Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken & Hunan Chicken. I had the Kung Pao Chicken & it was by far the best I'd ever eaten. So many layers of flavor & heat. (a bit spicy for me, but I struggled through & loved every bite) Will definitely be back to explore some of the more "exotic" dishes on the menu. (Wasn't feeling to adventurous this trip) The restaurant was well decorated & the staff took great care of us. (saw a large selection of dumplings at this place too.....definitely be back to try those)
