I really really wanted to like this place. I gave it 2 tries but I was just as disappointed as the first time. The lady that answers the phone when you call in is super nice and easy to talk too. The inside is really nicely decorated. No issues with parking (shared parking) OK now down to the food. Really it's not good at all I got the Chef Bourbon white meat chicken $17.95 as soon as I opened the container I sighed knowing this was not what I wanted with a Bourbon chicken 2 chicken breast really dry but loaded down with a salty brown sauce (I mean covered way to much) over a bed of lettuce, some nicely colorful steamed vegetables, and white rice. Went there yesterday and there were weird black flakes. I think it was burnt from not cleaning the cooking surfaces correctly. It added a crunch but I managed to pick the big pieces out. I ate the whole thing because it just looked like burned food... I've seen the same thing on my cooking when I leave a pan hot and cooking new things without rinsing. My sushi roll was not pretty but it tasted good. I took pictures but Yelp app didn't save them. The chicken fried rice lacked seasoning and salt. She handed me the packets of soy sauce after handling dirty dishes from another table without gloves. She also poured my water with the pitcher touching the lip of my cup... pandemic aside, the latter is definitely a hygiene problem even "pre-COVID". The prior was ok back in the day but was careless for the times. I didn't say anything, because I care to do my part but I accept that there's no perfect solution. This is the best Chinese in Centerville. It has a lot of items you can find at other Chinese places. The difference is the quality. It tastes like the food is fresher. The dining area is also nice. A lot of Chinese places around here are in a strip mall. So is this. That doesn't mean it has to suck though. Inside the restaurant it looks slightly better. They have a bar area, which isn't all that common in Chinese restaurants. Many of the items are typical Chinese favorites. The portions are big and you get a lot for what you pay. I had the Hunan Bean Curd. This is about $7 for the lunch portion. It came with lots of tofu, and the vegetables included broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms. It's quite popular for carryout. The inside and outside of this place looks like any other typical Chinese restaurant, but when it comes to the food, you will be in for a delicious treat! Great little restaurant hidden away in a shopping center. My friend and I were in the mood for sushi and found this place on Yelp for a bite to eat after work. We ordered a noodle dish and a couple sushi rolls to split. What really made it special was the sushi chef. He came out to our table to check on us and talked to us about the sushi we were having. He let us know he makes all of his sauces by hand and sweetens things with honey instead of sugar or syrups. You can really tell he loves his work. SO DISAPPOINTED & NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Because we rarely eat out and we hadn't had Chinese restaurant quality food in ages, and after calling around, I finally found a Chinese restaurant that has Wor Shue Gai, which I've been craving for 2 days. My BFF & I had to go out to the Dayton Mall area and we stopped by China Dynasty on Dayton-Lebanon Pike in Centerville, which is nearly 16 miles from where we live in E. Dayton. I ordered: Happy Family: is supposed to have at least 3 types of meat, Chinese vegetables (baby corn, bamboo shoots, shiitake or straw mushrooms, water chestnuts), broccoli, peppers, and onions. Chicken Fried Rice: just what it always is. Wor Shue Gai: is a thinly pounded chicken breast that's lightly battered, deep fried, sliced, laid on a bed of shredded lettuce then a brown sauce is ladled over it. I requested the sauce be on the side so the breading isn't soggy by the time we get home. 2 chicken egg rolls I spent nearly $40 and put the bag of food in an insulated bag to keep the food hot till we got home. What we got: Happy Family: rubbery beef, rubbery chicken, and a few rubbery shrimp with sliced button mushrooms instead of shiitake or straw mushrooms, with a few baby corn, a couple water chestnuts, no bamboo shoots, loaded with a lot of zucchini and some vegetables we didn't recognize. Wor Shue Gai: sweet and sour battered chicken pieces mixed with mixed vegetables Chicken fried rice with small amount of chicken, carrots and hard peas. 2 egg rolls that were thick and chewy with too long julienne vegetables instead of shedded vegetables. I called before we started eating, and complained about the Wor Shue Gai. They just said that's how they always make it. They only apologized and didn't even offer to refund the cost of the Wor Shue Gai. Even after I said we'll never come back, they only apologized. After eating the food, Mark even says that I make better Chinese food which in his opinion is restaurant quality. I just didn't want to spend an hour in the kitchen prepping and cooking. The noodles cooked to where just a little firmness left, and a few other goodies thrown in with the best sauce I have had! Could maybe have used a tad bit of heat but I know that's not for everyone. The crushed peanuts served on the side seemed a little less than fresh? But the dish itself when it came out was so hot I could eat it! My wife had Gen. Tso's Chicken. The chunks were a tad large but still crispy even though soaked with a very good sauce! Again, could have used more heat? But I bet they could have brought something to cure that? There were probably 10 other people in the restaurant but there was plenty of room to sit well apart from them, if COViD is a concern for you. Other reviewers had talked about their pot stickers and their chicken and shrimp Pad Thai, so that's what I got. I felt the Pot Stickers were exceptional, both in texture and flavor. I'd asked for the Pad Thai to just be "a little spicy." On a scale of 5 (for heat), they served me about a 1. I was told the normal for the dish is usually a 2 or 2.5. My family and I have probably had at least 30 or 40 dishes of theirs we always get a really nice Sushi appetizer we've had sushi from all the best restaurants in Dayton the known hot sushi restaurants but China dynasties is the best. Their soft egg rolls appetizer is superb. The pad thai is the best Pad Thai in the City by far. All of their curry dishes are absolutely outstanding we had the yellow curry soup as an example it is phenomenal. If you go on the nights that they serve fresh fish and I have asked the chef just to do it up however he sees fit and he always comes up with something amazing. That is the kind of place it is where he gets to know you and has been able to suggest menu items to my kids that have become their favorites and I trust him to make something up for me and always love it.
