I pass 4 asian restaurants to get here, all offer delivery. I picked this order up because they do not offer delivery. The drive to pick the food up was well worth it. We ordered egg rolls, vegetable fried rice, house soup, general tsos chicken w/all white meat. Everything was prepared exceptionally well. The chicken was tender, not overcooked, hard, and stringy like "the other place" We always order this meal at any Chinese restaurant we ever go to. On a scale of 1 through 10, 10 being the best, they are definitely a 10. Asian King, by comparison is rated a one or less. Thank for an excellent meal. read more

What a great find for your typical Chinese food. I like King Garden a lot more than Tsao's Cuisine. A big group of us came here over the weekend. Since we were there around 1, the place wasn't too busy so it was easy for us to push together tables for a group of 14. Although the restaurant isn't really that big, so really it was one long table of ten and another small table of four. We ordered a small order of boneless bbq spare ribs. It's basically the red BBQ Pork you buy at Chinese restaurants but this appetizer comes with more red sauce. It didn't need the sauce because it was too sweet, but with rice it's fine. For the meal, I got the sliced pork with mushroom. Again it's just the BBQ Pork lol. I didn't know this before ordering almost the same thing for our meal as well as our appetizer but I'm not complaining. There aren't too many places in Dayton where you can buy the BBQ Pork. I'd come back here! Also for those of you who play Pokémon Go, there's three poke stops right in front of the store. Although, I think people are done playing this game. read more

First time trying this place and boy were we impressed with the dine-in experience. I ordered chicken and broccoli, my friend got chicken, pork & shrimp lo mein. Both were perfectly cooked and very tasty but the lo mein was better than any I've ever had. Also, the crab rangoon was spectacular along with the red sauce. 11/10 recommend. Service as well was absolutely perfect. Never had to wait for a refill. Food out in less than 10 minutes. Appetizers in five. Safe to say we will be back! read more

Clean front lobby and nice staff, greeted before the door stop chiming. Food is good I ordered sesame chicken and got something else.. but it's still really good whatever this is haha. The same with my friends order, missing the sweet and sour sauce for sweet and sour chicken. The egg rolls are good and stuffed.. the fried rice is probably my favorite so far I've had in the area. Despite the mess up on the order I will go back because it's really good. Next time double check your bag before you leave just in case but if not it'll most likely be good anyways. read more

The wife and I were on our way home on a Wednesday night, but not feeling in the mood to cook. We had a taste for Chinese, but the only convenient option at that moment was King Garden. I'm always much more amenable to giving an independent, family-run restaurant a second chance, so we decided to give King Garden another go to see if things had improved for the better in the two years since our last visit. Boy, I'm glad we did! From an aesthetic standpoint, King Garden was virtually unchanged occupying a small space that makes it more of a carryout joint than dine-in. However, good things definitely have happened in the kitchen. We ordered Hot & Sour Soup ($3.95 lrg/$2.50 sm), Szechuan Beef ($9.50), Ma Po Tofu ($9.95), and Mala Green Beans ($8.95) for carryout. No sooner had we placed our order with who I assumed was the mother, we saw two young adults that I assumed may have been her children man positions in the kitchen and start cooking our order up hot and fresh. For the price, we received good-sized portions. Our food was expertly stir-fried leaving the meat tender and juicy and the vegetables brightly colored and a nice al dente. Most importantly, our food was perfectly seasoned and possessed a nice tongue-tingling spiciness, which was a complete 180 from our previous experience where the food was overwhelmingly sweet with no spice. No worries on this visit. We were left happy, full-bellied, and with plenty of leftovers. It's possible that the restaurant's ownership changed hands between our two visits (I seem to recall an older couple working in the kitchen on our first visit) or perhaps there was a complete revamp of the recipes used in the kitchen. Regardless, our experiences were night and day different with our most recent experience being an enjoyable, very happy surprise. I'm sold! Based on our most recent visit, King Garden was the best Chinese I've had in the Dayton-area and will be at the top of my list when we're looking for Chinese. A solid 4 stars. read more

Jason- Strip mall Chinese, let's be frank, but best I've had around here. Decent price to feed four more than we needed. Best crab Rangoons in town flat out and I barely like the things. Girls finished without forcing. Colored pork in rice is odd, but it is fully cooked and the other reviewer is an idiot. All due respect... Jamie- thought the food was very decent, had shrimp lo mein and daughter had sesame chicken. Very tasty! Crab Rangoons are my fav thing and you can def tell this place cooks with fresh ingredients to include oil. read more

The difference - new chefs/owners: an elderly couple - make up what they lack in personality w/ authentic flavors of Chinatown of Chicago or NYC or San Fran. This is the definition of GOOD bad Chinese food. Don't take it the wrong way. It is your typical Americanized Chinese food from a place that has the pictures on the wall that looks like its straight out of 1995. This is the place you go to when you want a lunch combo plate for $5.50 that comes in a container filled to the brim with food + a side of either soup, eggroll, or crab rangoon. You can eat it all in one sitting and reflect on life for a few hours, or make 2 moderate sized lunches out of it and carry on with your day productively. You are going to love it, but you are going to question your life choices just a little bit and it hits just the right spot every 3 months or so when you just need that egg foo-yong in your life. Overall, I had a very positive experience. The fried rice tasted good, and was not too oily. I did not feel sluggish after eating here. You can see the kitchen and see them cooking which lets me know that they are making the food relatively fresh. Looks like a mom/pop run place. They also have a lunch buffet which is a bit limited, but looks like a great way to try out several options of things. It's only about $7 including the drink. You really can't beat that. First I was greater by the typical asian restaurant owner that you cannot understand, second they did not include any utensils so I could eat my dinner when I returned to my hotel, third the food was disgusting (ordered orange chicken), and fourth the fried rice had uncooked beef inside. On the first time I visited I ordered Moo Shu Pork which is described on their menu as "prepared w Scrambled Eggs, Cabbage, Scallions, & Wood Ears". It had neither eggs nor wood ears. Traditional ingredients. Today I thought I would give it a try again. I ordered Chicken Fried Rice.
