I called to put in an order on this date & the guy who answered didn't really know any information as far as menu items & such. I ordered the sweet & sour pork w/ lo mein. I asked if veggies come in the lo mein. He said it only came plain. I asked if I could pay for vegetables in my lo mein. I was put on hold for about 2 minutes & when he returned, he said I could get vegetables. There was an up charge... the meal w/ an eggroll was $18.45 & said it would be ready in 20 minutes. 5 mins later I get a call & they said they couldn't put vegetables in plain lo mein. WHAT?! He (a different guy) said that his colleague got it wrong & I would need to buy a veggie lo mein on the side. He said that he couldn't do the combo & add veggies to the lo mein. His colleague got it wrong because the boss wasn't there & when she got back she saw how he rang it up & to call me & tell me they couldn't do that. I would have to buy the sweet & sour pork & veggie lo mein separately @ $22+. Now, for $4 you gave up $18! I have never been called back by a restaurant due to a mistake they made for charging me wrong. MOST businesses, who want to gain & maintain customers would've sucked it up & corrected their employee! NOT call the customer for their $4 mistake!!! I will never order from this establishment. Other than that, standard local Chinese carry out food. Reopened after several month of Covid-hiatus. Not really sure whether they had an online ordering website pre-covid or not, but they do now, and it's top-notch. Quick, easy, and (I think) it might have even a few more choices than the paper menus. I registered online, ordered, and had our food in less than a half hour. You won't go in the restaurant, they've created a "contact-free" kiosk at the door, and you wait in front to pick up and pay for your food, unless you choose to pay online. Gourmet deluxe? 5 stars is not enough. What an amazing restaurant! Having lived in Hong Kong for many years before returning to the States, my expectations on what good Chinese Food is have risen dramatically. This amazing restaurant with it's amazing food and incredible customer service most definitely checks all of the boxes! I try to order from here once a week, either when I'm studying, or when I'm watching television. I never have to expect a stomach ache, neither have I ever felt buyers remorse from ordering from this restaurant - which is unusual, since I rarely eat fast food - so that's saying something! The General Tso's chicken is not to be mixed, even for people who aren't partial to sweet and sour sauce like myself, and the plain white rice is flavorful, even if it's 'plain'. If ordering drinks with ice, expect the ice to still be in the cup when it's delivered by delivery couriers - no lukewarm, water'd down drinks here! I hope everyone in the area experiences this restaurant at least twice - once to get an initial opinion, and the second time to see if perhaps your opinion can be improved. read more

I'm not usually a huge fan of Chinese food. I never feel good after eating even a small amount, and usually get a headache. I typically eat an egg roll or 2 and that's all I need. Tonight my granddaughter wanted sweet and sour chicken, and hubby agreed, he likes boneless spare ribs. So, we head over to Golden Chopsticks and were met with a sign on the door that they no longer are open on Tuesdays. I'm not sure why, or if they just needed a day off- or why Tuesday is the day, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We went to Hung Lung on Bechtle and the food was absolutely top notch! Food was fresh, ribs softer and not dry, egg rolls crisp and delicious. I actually ate a little of both of what my family ordered, prepared to make soup or something for me but the food was so good! I still don't eat a bunch of Chinese food but I might eat a little again, lol Definitely changing our choice of Chinese restaurant to Hung Lung from now on. read more

Bleh. Pork fried rice had no taste. The plain fried rice was better. Brown sauce in shrimp and broccoli was a bit gelatanous. The pork and Chinese vegetables was ok. Both the regular egg roll and the vegetable egg roll were quite good. Paid for fortune cookies only to be asked how many I wanted when I picked up the food. I've never paid for fortune cookies before. Then, to find out they were free was not nice. Best part was the easy ordering online. If you choose to eat in, everything still comes in a to-go container and they have no plates, so you end up using the lids as plates. A great place for takeout. First time here yesterday with my husband and I can say I was very impressed! It's a little joint, we dined in anyways. But the customer service was amazing! The two girls working the counter were very friendly! Appetizers came out within 5 minutes, when she brought out my egg roll she recommended a ginger sauce for it, which I love trying new things and it was delicious! My husband even tried it and loved it so I highly recommend trying the ginger sauce next time! The meal portions are HUGE and well worth the price! Our meals were out within 10 minutes and they were fresh and hot. We both got General Tsos chicken with fried rice and we weren't disappointed! New to Springfield and my favorite food is chinese, so thought I would give this place a try. The online ordering is really nice. We got bourbon chicken and honey chicken. The bourbon chicken wasn't the best I ever had but I would eat it again. The honey chicken breading was very soggy and sauce was almost watery. Wouldn't order again. The fried rice doesn't have vegetables or egg in it, it is just yellow rice. 3 stars because I would try this place again, but will be trying other Chinese restaurants before I venture back. read more

I am an avowed Chinese food snob, and I ain't ashamed. Have I had better than Hung Lung? Yes, but I was raised in NYC, where culinary possibilities are endless. Have I had better Chinese since relocating here? Absolutely not! No one in this area comes close. The flavors are authentic and they keep it real (I've also been to the Far East, so I know that of which I speak). My wife LOVES them, and we try to order from them at least once per week. I haven't tried any of the Chef's Specialties yet, but I fully intend to do so. Value for the dollar is off-the-hook! The portions are such that my wife can eat on an order for at least two days -- sometimes three days, and she never tires of it. I'm not sure when they brought in the online ordering, but I'm glad they did. I used it for the first time today and now I've got it racked in my bookmarks. Their service is called "BeyondMenu", and while I had some trepidation about using it at first, it worked out just fine. Caution: Once you place your order, you'd better be ready to go, because typically, your order will be ready for pick-up in about 15-20 minutes if it's not too large or complex. They follow COVID-19 protocols. It's polite to wear a mask or face covering if you have one, though... My wife enjoys their chicken dishes -- Kung Pao, Szechuan, General Tso's, spicy Garlic chicken. I like their seafood dishes (she won't eat seafood) and I try a new one every time I visit. Not one has disappointed. I highly recommend Hung Lung if you want the real deal. Otherwise, there are quite a few Chinese restaurants in town where the food is bland because the people are bland and they make suggestions that water down legitimate recipes in order to appease the community. I was looking for a good Chinese takout that wasn't a buffet in Springfield....and I stumbled upon Hung Lung (from reading the yelp reviews of course) It's looks no different than any other Chinese takeout I have been too, it has the same holographic waterfall picture on the wall and childrens coloring page art as well. The employees are really friendly, although I had to wait at the counter for a little while..they were pretty busy though, which is always a good sign to me. I got the Mongolian Beef and my friend got General Tso's chicken. The Mongolian beef was good...but it wasn't great. It just doesn't live up to the standards of what I got from a restaurant way back in the day. I've been searching high and low for mongolian beef like that but alas, I don't think I will ever find it. I tried the General Tso's thought and it was AMAZING. Probably the best I have ever had, it even looked better than any other I have ever seen. Most tso's has kind of a dull look to it, but the chicken, sauce and broccoli looked so fresh. The dishes were a little pricey (around $9.50), but the portions were huge and they takeout containers were the nice plastic one..so dinner or lunch for tomorrow?...can't go wrong with that. This restaurant offers well-priced and seasoned chinese food. In Springfield the majority of chinese restaurants are a little on the sketchy side...but not Hung Lung! This restaurant is family-run and personally I find it to be a pleasure to go in for take-out and see their whole family (including the adorable little kids) being really cheerful and pleasant. There are children's drawings all over the walls of like, 3 armed monsters, which I'm a big fan of. As far as the food goes, they do have a vegetarian menu which makes my life easier. I'm a very picky eater when it comes to chinese food, so I haven't had anything that blows my socks off from that menu, but I don't really know if you should take my word for it. My boyfriend has tried many of the meat dishes and he says they're worth the money and have nicely balanced spice levels. I wouldn't recommend any other chinese place in Springfield...my mother got food poisoning one of the chinese buffets on Main street (shudder). So, far this is the best Chinese restaurant I have tried in the area. The ingredients are super fresh and everything is well prepared. One bonus is the plastic containers they use for the take-out orders. Keeps food very fresh and easily reusable. Very large portions - usually enough for 3-4 servings. To be honest, this place is like any other basic Chinese food place. Their chicken isn't of the best quality and it's noticeable. I would recommend paying just a bit more and going to Sakura down the road. Also, if you order carryout from here, plan to wait at least an hour or longer. They are very slow when it comes to this, so if you're going to get Hung Lung just do carryout. This gets 2 stars because they have decent rice and bourbon chicken. Hung Lung. What can I say other than Lung's wife must be a very lucky gal. Just kidding. Very good cashew chicken. It is somewhat a combination of Missouri style cashew chicken with the later style that isn't deep fried made everywhere else in the planet. In other words deep fried crispy but smothered in the dark sauce. I found this very peculiar since i come from Illinois where you can only find the later and not original style exclusively. Shrimp roll is great and so are the fried wontons. I can eat this every day if allowed and I think I will be returning constantly. read more

We have eaten here once before and liked the food, however after our last experience, we will not be returning. We had a fairly large order with 4 different dishes and crab rangoon. There was a call in order that had one similar dish as our order. Somehow the call in was given our order. We had already been waiting 20 minutes (we ordered general tso and was told it would take 15-20 minutes) when they told us that our order was given to the call in. They then had the call in bring back the food and proceeded to tell us to wait for it to come back. Almost an hour later, the call in returns with the food and the hostess hands us the bag they returned along with part of our order remade. They refused to refund our money when we asked for it before they gave us the food. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to eat food that went home with someone else. read more
