I was visiting my best friend in Vandalia and we ordered take out from this place on 12/5/2025. The food was excellent, and it was cool to see the cooks working the woks from my vantage point at the pickup counter. Very good food and service. read more

we have been going to China Dragon for a number of years and have never been disappointed. Dumplings and Crab Rangoon are always delicious. Sesame chicken is very good and huge servings. read more

I eat here a couple times a month for lunch while at work. I have had a great experience every time. food is prepared quickly and is always excellent. couldn't ask for better service. read more

The food is amazingly fresh, high quality chicken, always consistent and truly delicious. We missed having scrumptious Asian cuisine accessible and now we found it. It's hard not to want it every week!!! The ambiance was utilitarian and simple, with a small focused staff, expedient- we order to go. We are very happy to have a restaurant with high standards nearby! Thank you!!! read more

Great old school Chinese food. This is the place to go for take-out and the classic experience. I love their general tso's chicken and the double cooked pork. Don't forget the wonton or hot and sour soup! read more

Since previous review, their General Tso's chicken has greatly improved. A tip is to let them know how you like it cooked. That makes all the difference! I like my General Tso's spicy ... kinda how George likes his Kung Pao. read more

Primarily carry out good Chinese food and fast service bi-lingual servers, carry out packed tight and secure

Dragon China is the best Chinese food in Vandalia. It has all the typical Chinese favorites on its menu. The inside of the restaurant is sketchy. It's rare to have a crowd. This is more popular for pickup and takeout. I had the Szechuan Bean Curd. It's about $8 for the only portion. This item for whatever reason doesn't have lunch and dinner portions like most of the rest. It's a no frills place. Whichever you choose, getting dine in or takeout, you get the same container. There's no plates or anything like that. You will get your food in a takeout container if you choose to eat it there. As for the food, it turns out to be pretty good. The bean curd was the soft tofu which isn't my preference, but it was still okay. The item was pretty spicy. It gets a lot of delivery and pickup orders. If you go inside you will see why. The best thing to do is go take it with you. read more

Food is always fresh and hot. Never have we been disappointed with our food. The egg rolls, deluxe fried rice, and chicken based dishes are good. read more

This little spot is the freshest Chinese food in vandalia. Always huge portions, extremely quick, and friendly staff. Definitely a great spot for takeout, and enough food to feed an army in any order. read more

The service is always quick. The longest I've ever had to wait, from the time I called and placed the order to picking up was about 15 mins. It's fresh and the food is always delicious. I was not prepared for the heat inside the building though. It was extremely hot inside and I think they don't have working AC. Do not recommend sitting down to eat. Pick up only. read more

I ordered a large Mongolian beef- there wasn't 3oz's of beef on it, it was all onion ! They should just call it what it is!

Oh my. In an industry centered around cheap food, customer service and ambiance, I propose the following question: What kind of restaurant can have an awful, worn out, sticky interior crying out for help, a terrible out of the way location, a menu that's hard to read, higher than expected prices, no kids options and quite frankly, the stereotypical "You come, you order, you pay, you go!" rushed terribly impersonal service...AND YET BE PACKED with business?! As I waited for my 9 year old son's food (sweet and sour shrimp) I couldn't help but contemplate this and the meaning of life, haha. When my order number was called it honestly didn't even take a peek in the unexpectedly heavy, large box to tell I had stumbled upon something of legendary awesomeness!! So, to answer my question-- Dragon China, that's who! And for good reason! Their food is indescribably AMAZING! Generous doesn't cover it. It was gluttonous. Decadent. Folks, this was "Run for two weeks afterwards so you fit into your skinny jeans and probably lost a year off your lifespan, but you don't give a care as long as they keep it coming" good! The shrimp, how the heck did they make it so huge? Where did they find these things?? Wait. I don't wanna know. Just keep them coming! Dragon China, I don't care if your interior is sticky! I don't care that you looked right through me when I ordered like I was a soul-less chicken in a processing plant. (I'm vegan so I can say that. Do chickens have souls? IDK! Can we not debate this here, please!) I don't care that you charged me more than expected, and I don't fault you for the lack of kids options. (Kids *are* kinda annoying, right?) NO, I don't care about any of that--as long as you keep dishing out the most awesome Chinese food any of us have ever encountered!!!! If you want to have your socks knocked off, there you go. Yes, it's worth the drive from Centerville or wherever you are from. Oh! And don't be surprised when you get there, if there aren't a million other people trampling each other to get their turn up front, like hungry koi in a fish pond over flakes! Hahaha. You've been warned. Yep, it's authentic! Enjoy, guys. YOU are welcome! Geez, what a find. I love it when this happens! Thanks Dragon China! We heart you! read more

The staffs are Chinese, they speak mandarin, the menu is Chinese-English. The place is small, causal, somehow friendly(I get used to the crapy looking place with good food). The food is tasty, if you are looking for the real food cooked by the real people, this is the place to go. read more

Dragon China - the front of a restaurant at night - Chinese Near Me - Vandalia, Ohio

Food is always good and actually tastes fresh which I think is hard to find in a take out restaurant. You can see directly into the kitchen. Everything is always very clean and service is fast. read more

Food is average at best. Everything tastes pretty much the same. Little difference in sauces or flavor profiles. On two occasions had General Tso's in which the chicken was way overcooked making it tough and chewy. read more

This place has really good Chinese food. Takeout service is quick. They do have a small lunch buffet, but I have never been to it. Prices are very reasonable, and you get big portions. My only complaint (and yes, I can find faults with almost anything) is that the staff isn't always the friendliest. Sometimes some of the gals working in there look incredibly pissed off. So not a very inviting reception from the staff, but if that doesn't bother you, then you're in for some good grub. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=889+E+National+Rd+Vandalia,+OH+45377&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=51.310143,79.013672&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=889+E+National+Rd,+Vandalia,+Montgomery,+Ohio+45377&ll=39.892301,-84.180776&spn=0.000766,0.001206&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=39.892284,-84.18095&panoid=f1yMNmhCeOEwLgbD-mOA5g&cbp=12,346.99,,0,2.15 read more

A good location. Not too different than many other Chinese food locations, but they're fast and usually food is pretty good. I usually go once a month and they give me no reason to stop. Wish they'd fix the buffet line though. Helpful tip: Often times the parking lot is either almost or completely full because of Bunker's next door. If that happens just park behind the building and walk around the Dragon China side. Closer than walking from the other side of the lot. read more

This is as good as it gets for take out...generous portions...fresh veggies...this is my go to...

Fair to average takeout, but we ordered a BOATLOAD of food for a Christmas day late lunch/early dinner and they got it 100% correct and FAST!! My go-to veg. choice, Mu Shu, was not the best I've had, but OK... I would feel extremely Grinch-like if I complained more... Happy Holidays!! L'chaim!! read more

I wanted to love you, Dragon China, but when the staff are rude as f$&ck and they seem burdened to serve you, it kind of blows. I give two stars because the crab Rangoon's were seriously good. Avoid the hot and sour soup. Take a lesson from the China Cottage franchise in Centerville and Kettering and try to bring that flavor to your broth. Avoid the egg rolls: just do. The Kung Pao shrimp was good-- nice spicy level, but the general mood of the whole dinner was just "meh". Friends-- if this is your idea of the best Chinese anywhere, then it is high time to get out and start sampling. read more

Love this place! My go to for Chinese!!! So easy to pick up the phone and order take out, pick it up in 10-15 minutes and the food is great!

There's nothing bad about this place. It's good, quick, inexpensive Chinese food. When we try other Chinese take-out when on vacation, it's usually not quite as good or not quite as quick. I'm sure there must be better Chinese take-out places around, but it just happens that the one two miles from my house is the best we've found. I really wish they had a website so when we're out on the town and want to pick something up on our way home we have access to the menu. read more

Food was average or should I say typical. They crab rangoons were pretty tasty. The service was fast, but did not seem very friendly. I have ate there 3 times and I've always felt somewhat rushed and unappreciated. read more

Clean place, they have a little lunch buffet and a nice area to sit. Crab rangoon was good but general tso (was made to order in front of me) was disgusting. horrible. dry and chewy. the first place ive gone with bad general tso. triple combination or whatever its called was alright but not good. read more

Got Dragon China thru Door Dash. It was delivered fresh and hot. Those are the only positives. I had four items on my order because it was my first time trying them and wanted to sample a few things. First up were teriyaki steak skewers. Tried the first one and it was almost impossible to get off the skewer. Flavor was ok, but it was so chewy, I couldn't even swallow it. Strike one. Next up, hot and sour soup. Huge chunks of mushrooms if thats your thing. But the broth was very thin, very light in color, and had neither hot or sour flavors. Two tablespoons of soy sauce later, and it is just barely paletable. Strike two. On to the entrees. General Tso's chicken and Sesame Beef. Both were good sized pieces, with decent sauce and spice on the General Tso's, and sweet but not overly sweet on the Sesame Beef. I go to open the friend rice to put the entrees over, and find strike three. Paid extra for fried rice, and it is nothing but white rice with a drop of yellow food coloring. Not fried, no veggies, no added flavor. I'm sorry, but this is $49.88 that was pretty much wasted. Won't eat there again. read more

Good Chinese take out. The food tastes good, the service is fast, and the portions are great for the price.

Good food, although I have had better. It is fast, and they give you very large helpings, and I have never had a problem with service. The rudeness that people have mentioned may be due to a language barrier, as this is Asian cuisine provided by Asian individuals ( I see that as a plus, because, who better?) I have never had a bad experience, and again: fast, good and a lot...what's not to like? read more

We have been going here since we moved to the area 15 years ago. Always friendly and by far the best Chinese food in the area! Our favorites are the Hunan chicken, steamed dumplings, & crab Rangoon. The Chicken Yat Gat Mein is fantastic if you need some great soup. read more

Do not ever eat here! Went there for the lunch buffet and first off the staff was rude and was rushing us. You have to pay before you're seated and carry your plate, silverware & drink to your table. If you want seconds on the buffet you have to use a Styrofoam plate. First bite of crab Rangoon I had to spit it out, tastes nothing like crab Rangoon. The lo mein seriously tasted like cigarette smoke. We tried a little bit of everything just to see if it was certain dishes that didn't taste good but nothing tasted good. After cleaning up our own table we went to the gas station just to get potato chips to get the taste Dragon China to go away. We then got back to work and my co-worker even got sick. Now I understand why the place is never busy. I informed my other co-workers to never go there and to stick with the regular Chinese place we normally go to. If your taste buds are shot and you don't mind wasting your money then you can go ahead and try it! read more
