True Score- 4.5/5 Stars UPDATE: I moved away from here roughly 7 months ago. There frankly is no restaurant close to how good this place is. I miss it sincerely. I am a transplant from a more southern city. Chinese takeout is probably my favorite food. I have had a LOT of it- and Royal Wok is by far my favorite. Everything I have had is better than what most places offer- except the sweet and sour chicken. It isnt bad, its perfectly average. The steamed dumplings, general tsaos, orange chicken, and sesame chicken are all top tier. However, the Lo Mein might be the best I have had. Best Chinese takeout around! Good always fresh. They are a little pricy but otherwise I always enjoy my food. It's my location that I prefer to go to out of all of them

Pros : Very good food, quick service, great pricing! Cons : $10 dollar minimum for credit card purchase, very limited inside dining availability...3 tables w/2 chairs each, no ambiance...every thing is served in to-go containers and plastic wear utensils, canned/bottled soda. But this is probably how they keep such competitive pricing. read more

Fantastic food, good prices, and large portions. If you look through my review history, you can tell I am incredibly picky when it comes to Chinese food. Most places just don't measure up. Not this joint- it's terrific. The food is piping hot. Even a 10 minute car ride has it still hot when I get it home. The menu isn't so huge that the quality suffers, but is still diverse enough that I could order something different every day. The sauces are incredible- most places use the same sauce for every dish. Not here. My Sichuan is spicy and a little mala. My Hunan is spicy with a garlicky note. And don't get me started on the veggies- any place that uses actual bamboo slices instead of canned little chips of bamboo is way ahead of the game. (I actually try to steal them out of my husband's entree also.) The staff is efficient and polite and had no problem clarifying menu items. ...and now I'm hungry again. read more

I would rate this place at zero stars if I could. It been at least two or more years I received breaded chicken dishes with little and sometimes no meat in some of the pieces. Even when there is some meat, it carved like you would cut very narrow and short pieces of bologna. They charge as much as some excellent sit down restaurants in the area. A couple times we got home to find they mixed the dish with only half of what we ordered and something else thrown in to somewhat fill the plastic dish. I went there today and asked for two egg rolls. The cashier told me they have a minimum of $5.00 for a credit card order. Crap food and a surcharge or more item to order to get to $5.00. We've eaten this restaurant's food going on 25 plus years. Handy for carry out during Covid. Last week I got the Hot&Sour soup and some crab Ragoon. The soup was kind of odd, and tasted completely different. It seemed to need another broth or vinegar. The color was off ...much darker more beefy like. Crab Ragoon had a different dipping sauce. OK I can live with that...but the soup was totally off taste. Certainly restaurants chance staff and recipes don't stay the same... but I won't be a customer after last week. I'm very sad. read more

Royal Wok is our favorite Chinese food in Huber Heights. The food is consistently good and fast-- I can usually pick up my order (for four people) in fifteen minutes or less. We have never had anything missing or wrong with what we've ordered, unlike some other local carry-out places. It seems to depend on who answers the phone as to how the kid's meals are served. Sometimes they package two kids meals together, sometimes they don't... not really a big deal since both my kids like the same entree (sweet and sour chicken). Normally I get one kid's meal with lo mein and one with rice, but yesterday when I called I was told that children's menu items do not come with either side. Thinking they had changed the menu, I simply ordered a child's size Chicken Lo Mein for the kids to split. I picked up a copy of the "new" menu and discovered that the menu was the same as it's always been, so next time I will point that out when I order. read more

I'll just say this, Don't waste your hunger and money at Dragon City on Troy Pike across from Lowe's . Dragon City's portions are below average and they are ripping people off by not putting enough ingredients in their dishes . Only eat their food if it's free. Royal Wok on the other hand , should be proud of what they provide for their community . Good value and good taste . read more

Got take out from here for dinner the other night and the food was honestly very good! We got take out, but while we were in the restaurant it was noticeably dirty. Aside from the floor the food was warm once we got home and it was a very enjoyable dinner. I would get this place again. read more

I really would not recommend anyone to eat here. I have spent seven years in the Orient. I hunger for excellent Chinese, Japanese, Filipinos, and Thai foods. The hot and sour soup was fair, the rice was cooked in old grease, and you could not tell the differnts from Happy Family and the Triple Delight. Nearly all the food went in the trashcan. Royal Wok is really just a take-out place. There are only a couple tables and people use them to wait for their food. I've never seen anyone actually eating inside the restaurant. But they are pretty quick in the kitchen and they also deliver (very quickly). My husband and I always get the stir fry type dishes such as Szechuan beef, Hunan beef, beef and broccoli, King Pao chicken, etc. All EXCELLENT. We've both tried their breaded meat dishes such as sweet and sour chicken and General Tso chicken and weren't too impressed. Kinda soggy, too sweet, and lacking veggies. I've ordered a couple different noodle dishes (Beef Lo Mein and Singapore Noodles) and they were just "ok". Definitely go with a stir fry type dish and you will see this is the best place in town for Chinese food. And definitely don't forget to try the steamed dumpling appetizer and the crab Rangoon - both EXCELLENT. The portions are HUGE. Some of the dinner dishes have a "small" lunch sized option and that is what I order. The regular sized dinner dishes are definitely enough for two people. Worst Chinese food in the area. We stopped going there years ago because the food was so bad, but it's now the closest Chinese food to us so we tried it again last night and we are both sick today! The Kung Pao was just a bowl of noodles, dry roasted peanuts and hot pepper flakes in some kind of brown sauce. The house lo mein was a glob of undercooked noodles with the same brown sauce. The dumplings had no filling whatsoever, they were just globs of dough inside, and the vegetables with garlic sauce were raw veggies in the same brown sauce. I don't even know why they put canned peaches in there. I assume that's what those mushy beige things were. They had the texture of canned peaches but no flavor whatsoever. I'd never go to Royal Wok again. read more

We tried take out from this place for the first time and I guess for the most part it's average. The beef LoMein was good but the House Rice Special not so much, very plain, bland. I'm sure it's hit or miss. We will go back for LoMein and maybe try out some diff dishes. read more

I just ordered food and didnt get what I ordered. They told me to not call back because they claimed they read it back. I nicely told them I got wrong food and they told me to not call back. First the lady said that her boss isn't here and then the man got on phone and said no dont call back here. This just happened. I feel so upset that they messed up and they had the nerve to say this to me. read more

This place used to be the best to go to, but now the food is greasy, and they really cut WAY back on quality while charging outrageous prices! I ordered a LG. beef and broccoli this last time and there were only 6 pieces of beef?! There was so much grease that it soaked through the entire container! The customer service is horrible. I ordered for pickup on my way home, got my food, and when I got home, 2 meals were missing from my order. When I called, they wanted to argue with me before he said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to add them." DUH! Then he told me to drive 20 minutes back across town and he'd give me a 5% discount on food I ALREADY PAID FOR! Avoid the drama with this place. It's not worth it. read more

Ordered dinner here tonight to go and I picked it up. It was ready to pick up fast but they didn't give me the soup I ordered then gave me my meal with onions after I ordered it with out. Also ordered crab regions they gave us duck sauce and not the red sauce you normally get. I called to complain they offered me a $2 credit for the soup. I've been ordering from royal woks for years. Although their phone etiquette isn't the best (sometimes it is) their food is always hot and is delivered pretty quickly. I've never had any order mistakes as I see some other reviewers had. Maybe it's just karma for those customers. Ha! I typically order General Tso's Chicken which is good and plentiful. I also order chow Mei Fun noodles which are great as well as one of my favorite appetizers the steamed dumplings. The dipping sauce is fantastic. read more

Just "okay." Not bad enough for two stars but not great. Food at times can be pretty greasy and their egg rolls are down right terrible. Also not a huge fan of their wonton soup....the broth just lacks something.....oh yes...FLAVOR. But the food isn't terrible either. Its just meh. read more
