We got sat in the back corner hoping to enjoy dim sum and all we got was tea and some fried sticky rice. All she wanted was some steam spare ribs. She then got up and talked to the waitress about an order of steamed spare ribs and she said it would be out in 10 minutes. 20 minutes went by and 5 parties that came after us all got served. She was furious and got up and left while I paid for the 2 items. This time around was not a good experience since we were there just a couple days ago.

We shared the Pork Buns, Crab Rangoon, Cumin Beef, and Chongqing Dry Chili Stir-Fried Chicken, and every dish was delicious. We had such a great experience that we were recommending this place to friends before we had even left the table! The food was that good, and we're already planning a return visit. There's definitely more on the menu we want to try, and we're happy to make the drive again.

The egg rolls are homemade, and I think the lady that made them delivered it to our table. Better than PF Chang's! My husband tried the Cumin Beef, and they were kind enough enough to omit the cilantro. The smell was divine - it was spicy though! A bit surprised they didn't ask what spice level he wanted the dish? I think I ordered the Fish Fillet Delight (the online menu is slightly different than the in person menu), it was a mild sauce, almost tasted like nothing. Towards the end once or twice I tasted the ginger, other than that, very bland. I would not order this again. Lots of food on the plate though! Ordered the pumpkin pastry at the end of the meal. It did not taste like pumpkin at all. It was melting molten mochi and vaguely yellow. Would not get this again. Thankfully I ordered the Chrysanthemum tea, which was delightful. I think Great Tang has the potential to be a great hidden gem, I just need to find my go to dish. If you like spicy, try the Cumin Beef!

Szechuan Cold Noodles blew me away with perfect texture and taste and the mouth tingly heat that sneaks up on you. Nice and tender, very flavorful, slivered garlic and cilantro were in the mix. You like it spicy? This one's eye-watering. It was great. That little hot pepper symbol on the menu has meaning! They also serve the Americanized favorites, for less adventuresome palates. Very cute and cozy inside. Small. I believe there were six booths, with table service. Look, this is probably one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. Is it totally authentic?…read moreNo. But, for this style of Chinese it's really good. We ordered take out twice recently because we're busy and it's close to where my son has practice these days. We went in to pick up and it is nice inside. I used the bathroom and it was clean, which I appreciate. Our last order was crab rangoon, siu mai, wonton soup, pepper steak with onions, shrimp with broccoli, general t's chicken and fresh garlic chicken. I'll start with the crab rangoon, it is a little sweeter than other places, but it also has more flavor since they actually use scallions in theirs. It was really good, although one of the kids didn't like the sweetness of it. The siu mai though? Everyone loved it and we will definitely order those again! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and plump, so good! The family fought over the leftover wonton soup, I ordered two quarts because there's never enough for our crew. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the fresh garlic chicken, it was a LOT of green peppers which isn't our favorite. Someone did go in and eat all the leftover chicken though...lol I noticed when ordering the last time that they also have Thai food, which I really want to try.

The gentleman asked if we had reservations. We did not. He simply said, "Then we'll have three more guests for the evening" or something along those lines. He was very kind. Before our friend arrived, a woman stopped by to welcome us. Top notch service so far! The ambiance is beautiful. The lighted tree and decor behind us was a lot, but it felt tasteful. Jack, our server, stopped by to get us water. When our friend arrived we had a lot to talk about. Jack stopped by several times and was very chill about us taking our time. He said he didn't mind if we still weren't ready and he'd return to check on us as often as necessary. Again, kindness and patience abound at Oriental Wok. The Ma La Dumplings were absolutely delicious. The filling was delicious and the spice level, which we knew would be spicy, was perfect. Truly a wonderful bite. I had Five-Spice Tofu. The tofu was crispy as advertised and the greens were in a very light and delectable sauce. Green onions were sprinkled with the greens. I feel sometimes greens like these are an afterthought at many restaurants. At Oriental Wok they were as much a star as the crispy tofu. Mark had Orange Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. He mentioned the orange flavor was perfect. Either Jack asked if we wanted dessert and I missed it or he didn't ask. Our friend thought maybe he did and she said no, but she couldn't be sure. I just remember him stopping by to ask if we needed boxes. Anyway, next thing I knew we had our checks. I really wanted dessert, but I took it as a sign it was time for us to wrap up. I'm absolutely certain he would have been more than happy to bring us some dessert and update our checks, so going without was on me and that's cool. I think it's safe to say we will be back!
