Just ordered General Tso's dinner and an order of Boneless Spareribs for my husband, my granddaughter and myself. Such generous portions that I always just have those two share a little with me! I eat a few pieces of chicken, a few ribs , some rice and we also each had an egg roll. STILL have plenty of left over! Food tastes fresh and delicious. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese cuisine but this particular restaurant is always good and service is great, very little wait. Less than 10 min wait and when you've had a busy day and just want to grab fast food- this was just as fast, and a better choice! read more

I was (sort of) in the area, so I decided to try this option for Chinese takeout up here in the Northridge section of Spfld. I may as well have stuck with any of the other half a dozen or so choices in town, because really, there's not too much of a difference here. They appear to offer a buffet, but only for lunch. The takeout menu offers NO surprises, except the slightly higher prices, and (at least last night) a slightly longer than average wait. Teriyaki chicken on a stick and steamed dumplings for apps. were ok. The Mr. loves General Tso chicken, which seemed saucier and a bit spicier than average, and veggie moo shoo was fine, but nothing to write home about. I'm not sure what I was looking for, but if you need average, sleep-walking through life, no surprises "Chinese," this is as good a spot as anywhere else in the area.... Should have stuck to my first choice in the area, China Palace, home of Springfield's BEST PAD THAI... Yawn....... read more

I grew up a few minutes away from Golden Chopsticks and I genuinely feel like I was spoiled. I compare all other Chinese restaurants to Golden Chopsicks, and I have never found one that I like as much! The rest of my family agrees. My mom says they have the best crab rangoons in the area. We always get take-out. Just call your order in 15-20 minutes in advance. We've never had any issues with having to wait around for good. Service is efficient and friendly. Great menu selection! Since Covid we've only done pick up. Food is always hot and on time. Dishes that I have had have always been delicious. The restaurant environment is pretty sparse. Nothing fancy, but reminds me of Chinese restaurants of the past. The wait staff are courteous but very business like. No chitchat. read more

We've been getting take out from here for several years, mostly because it's been close, quick & okay. Around here, any strictly Chinese food that doesn't make you sick and is made in a not obviously dirty building is okay. I was pleasantly surprised tonight with the shrimp lo mein. I didn't want rice/chow mein nor the thin rice noodles/mei fun, so went with regular noodles/lo mein. (I prepared by taking 6 packets of soy sauce to get through the meal.) It was packed with tender shrimp, not huge, but acceptable at this price. Most importantly, it was not greasy/oily nor overly sweet, which I was expecting not necessarily from here (I don't recall) but at least prior lo mein experiences. I don't know if it's traditional, but I would've given up some shrimp for a bit of variety of vegetables rather than just the cabbage & green onions. The noodles were good. The sauce had some depth, again not greasy or cloyingly sweet. AND, I didn't use any soy sauce. As it had been requested by a family member, I had prepared to suffer through the lo mein, but enjoyed it. The shrimp roll had the same size of shrimp in it as the lo mein not "salad shrimp" nor a shrimp paste. Overall, good Chinese food dinner, better than most available locally. Golden Chopsticks is located in the strip of stores by the Kroger in Northridge. My sister, mother and I stopped in for lunch on a weekday afternoon. It was busier than expected, but there were a good amount of booths and tables. Most people who came in got their orders to go. They had a lunch buffet with a decent amount of food, so we all got the buffet with a drink. The prices were surprisingly good with the total being $21 for the three of us. I got a wide variety of items. I got the "chicken on a stick," crab rangoon, General Tso chicken, rice, beef & broccoli, string beans and an egg roll. The "chicken on a stick" was flavorful and seasoned well. The crab rangoon was really good - surprisingly some of the best I have ever had. The egg roll had great flavor but was really greasy. String beans were average. The other dishes (which I got the biggest portions of) were pretty sub-par. The general tso's had NO heat and almost tasted too sweet. The beef and broccoli was dry and had a really heavy sauce. Overall, this places stay true to the three star "A-OK." The main dishes might be better if they were not on the buffet. I would recommend this place because of the great price for lunch. Definitely a solid option for lunch considering the amount of chain restaurants in Springfield/Northridge. read more

I used to love this place but it has really gone downhill. We ordered general tso chicken, crab rangoon and egg rolls. The egg rolls were yummy as always but the crab rangoon seems to have changed since we last ordered it and not in a good way. It had a weird after taste and not much crab at all. The general tso chicken was the most disappointing. It tasted like deep fried dough in sauce. I dissected several pieces to find VERY little chicken and mostly dough. A far cry from what it used to be. We will be looking for another go to Chinese spot. read more

They have great sweet-and-sour anything and moo goo gai pan. They also have a fairly extensive low calorie menu. Their buffet is still great and is usually served from noon until two during the weekdays. Nice people! read more

This is an average at best Chinese take out restaurant and way below average buffet. Their prices are higher than normal and the options are more limited than most. The food is pretty average, nothing that stands out or draws you back in. I have only been here a couple times but that was more than enough to see that they just don't stand up to the other local Chinese restaurants in Springfield. read more

Worst service ever!! The older lady who takes orders is RUDE. I wait in line to pick up the food I ordered and, after waiting on customers ahead of me, she turns her back and starts bagging other orders instead of waiting on someone who is already there. She is rude on the phone, too - ignores customers' questions (e.g., "How long will this take?"). She just gets your order and hangs up on you. I've been there plenty of times, but the good food is no longer worth the extraordinary rudeness of this person. I will not go back. read more

Best Chinese restaurant in Springfield. I've been going to this place since I was a little kid, and I haven't really found a Chinese restaurant in Springfield that tops it! Pick any menu item; eggrolls, dumplings, crab Rangoon, General Tso's chicken, you name it! If you like Chinese food, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. My favorite menu item of theirs is the Hunan chicken. The chicken is always prepared perfectly in that it's always moist and tender. I've tried Hunan chicken at other restaurants, but it wasn't nearly as good. I honestly don't know why this place hasn't gotten better reviews. I've never had any problems with this place. Please note, this is not a review on food. I've debated on whether to post a review on this incident, but a friend mentioned that it could help prevent another patron from having their card compromised. I've been eating in or getting carryout at the Golden Chopsticks since the mid-1990's. I ate lunch at the Golden Chopsticks a couple Mondays ago. While standing in line to make order, I overheard a very upset lady complaining about her debit card number being compromised and that her and her husband had narrowed it down to being compromised there a day or so prior. I remember thinking to myself that statement was a bold accusation. As I made it through the line and made my order, my debit card was declined. I paid with another card and when I went back to my office, I called my bank and my debit card had been compromised as well and was disabled. I had eaten at the Golden Chopsticks the day prior and paid with my debit card. Even though I do not have solid proof (and have been reluctant in writing this review because of it), I thought it was strange that somebody else had theirs compromised and ate at this restaurant the same weekend as I did and both having our debit cards compromised. Patron, be aware when using a debit/credit card here. I recommend if you are a customer here, be safe and use cash. read more

I get take out there about 3 times a month for 15 plus years. The prices and quality are reasonable. They have a large selection and are usually very fast. It is in a strip mall and is a rather small fast food restaurant. I like the chicken with garlic sauce, crab rangoons, shrimp rolls, egg rolls, szechaun chicken and their soups. If you want something different than hamburgers or pizza - give it a try. read more

Wow... between the worker's kids standing on my table and putting their finger in my drink (nothing was done) and the employees being rude, dismissive and having a holier-than-thou attitude; I don't even know what to say! Why 2 whole stars you ask?? The food's great... a truly personal dilemma. So my answer? I call ahead, grab my carry-out and get the hell out! Sometimes when I go in (for the 4th time in a week) the employees give me the vibe of being a burden - like I should apologize for helping to pay their rent. So maybe I still go back because I'm a glutton for punishment or maybe it's because I want my Lobster Fried Rice. Non the less, I had to get this off my chest. If a worker from Golden Chopsticks reads this... try smiling and try to realize that customers, ESPECIALLY REPEAT CUSTOMERS, are the life-blood of your business. Oh and PLEASE!!
