I've been going here for years! It is a small place and if you talk to the staff they will make things just how you want or suggest something new you may like. I remember my father brought co workers who were in town from Texas who liked spicier food. The chef talked to them about what they might like and made some special dishes just for them. I'm not going to lie, I prefer more plain food, but when I get chicken fried rice it has so much chicken that I share with my furry friends. I get the large because sometimes I think it tastes even better the next day. Depending on how hungry I am, I get at least 2 meals out a large size. I do always get the fried wontons to start. After college and moving away from Troy I will still drive over an hour to eat here. Can't find anything as good in Columbus. read more

Ordered take out from He5 for my husband, adult son and myself on New Year's Eve. Within an hour or two of eating, all 3 of us were sick with stomach issues. My son was violently ill and my husband and I were experiencing stomach cramps, nausea and worse. None of us had drank any alcohol or ate anything else that would cause this reaction. All three of us had chicken dishes, so I can only assume we received food poisoning from the chicken. I had sesame chicken, hubby had sweet and sour chicken and son had pad Thai chicken. My food looked and tasted ok, but the sweet and sour chicken and pad Thai chicken didn't "taste right" and very little was eaten. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

Very good Asian cuisine with a fresh tasting flair. Quality of the food is well above the other Chinese restaurants in the area. Highly recommend this place! Only downside is that prices are a bit higher. You get what you pay for. read more

I used to love this place but the last few times have really been bad. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again hoping it would be better and was worse than last time. No flavor, dry noodles even though I ordered extra juicy and it looked like a brown bland blob. No color with mixed ingredients like carrots, pea pods or celery. Let me start with this was my first experience with this restaurant and I checked into reviews and feedback from others prior to ordering. I was less then impressed to have spent over $40.00 for three people. The food arrived and I couldn't believe the small size portions of food that came, we even made sure we ordered the larger size and paid more money for them. The large sweet and sour chicken had about 7 or 8 small sizes piece of chicken, there were two chunks of pineapple and about 8 pieces of onion and pepper, maybe I'm just use to all the other places that when you order a large you normally have leftovers for another meal the next day. Everything we ordered was less then tasty, food was very bland and almost seemed as if it had just been sitting around and heated back up slightly, I'm not far from this location so it only took me 3 minutes to get back home, i shouldn't have needed to re warm my food especially when it took longer than quoted to be ready, this was a huge disappointment in my eyes and don't plan to be be going back l. read more

When you have a craving you will brave a pandemic to fill that need. Our meal was amazing, every bite was enjoyable. Love their sweet and sour chicken...not just some battered and deep fried pieces of chicken with sauce and nothing else that some others have...they include a homemade sauce, pineapple, green pepper, and onion, with hearty large pieces of the chicken. The first time I ate it they even had grapes in it! I've tried a lot of Chinese restaurants, and this is one of the few that I will return to! Like many good asian restaurants, He5 doesn't look like much on the outside. My wife and I debated going in or not after looking at the exterior... boy im glad we did. The food (which is all cook to order) was the amazing. Crab Rangoon actually had real crab, the homeade sweet and sour sauce was to die for. Maybe I'm from another universe it something, but this place is no better than it was when it was Lee's, food-wise. My veggie lo mein was really meh, except that it had green bell peppers in it (ick!!). My son's beef & peppers was not good. The hubs enjoyed his meal (chicken stir fry). The fried rice is white with little bits of egg (??). And my tea cup had lipstick on it. The price is pretty lofty for the product, as well. This is American food as opposed to Chinese food. All your regular dishes - General Tso's chicken, etc. the food is tasteless and not worth the drive, time or money. On the plus side, the guy was nice, they had America's favorite fortune cookiesxlszz and the sprite was cold.
