We had an early dinner and the place wasn't busy. Our server was very nice but the overall service was fairly slow. The half off happy hour appetizer is where it's at. I could've stopped there but we each ordered a meal and there was enough food for 8 people! It's nothing special, the regular menu items are slightly pricey but everything is these days. Underground Chuck's is a fairly new restaurant. I placed a recent DoorDash order. I ordered the French Dip sandwich with French fries. The order was delivered quick and it was in a styrofoam container with the fries. Presentation-wise, it's a good looking sandwich. The sandwich comes with Swiss cheese and caramelized onions with a decent sized cup of dipping sauce. The French fries were good, nothing out of the ordinary. The French Dip sandwich tasted good but I found it a bit too fatty for my tastes. Some of the slices of meat were un-chewable. I don't think I would order again, although what I could chew was pretty good. The sandwich comes on a hoagie style roll. I give this order a solid three stars. Lunch try for this relatively new place. Underground Chucks is located where O'Charleys used to be. The place hasn't changed at all inside. Plenty of seating, clean , nice bar area and plenty of TV's if you want to catch a game. Our server was nice although I cannot recall her name. Too a few minutes to be waited on but she seemed to be running the dining room on her own and did a great job. We split bourbon and Gouda burger and sweet potato waffle fries. We started with cheese curds. Food was ok. Burger was ordered a medium and came mor like a medium well but still tasty! Fries were a bit under cooked. Finally, casual dining is back!! Underground Chucks is a new concept mixing traditional casual dining menus with a modern take on the full-service Casual Dining restaurant model of the late 1990s. They've got the place staffed to the gills as they open and its resulting in a similar experience to the days of yore, when you could take your family of 5 out for a night of good service, good choices of hot fresh food, and you could do it for less than $120 even with drinks and a generous tip for that friendly wait staff! I'm hoping and praying that the concept is sustainable. They have delicious appetizers and good portions for entrees and shareable deserts as well. First time visit. Elle welcomed us in. Sat at the bar. The barkeep, Prince, was very friendly. Cocktails were served in a timely fashion. Popcorn accompanied the drinks. My wife had the grouper sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. My order was the grouper dinner with Brussels sprouts and shoestring fries. I am a Florida native and I have had no better grouper than that was served here. Good tartar sauce too. Brussels sprouts tasty with the balsamic glaze on them. Underground Chuck is new to the area. I tried it with my boyfriend and we were both underwhelming. They give complimentary popcorn which is different, but a nice surprise. We ordered the meatloaf sandwich and fish. I feel the restaurant is a little pricey. I tasted my boyfriend's meatloaf sandwich. The sandwich was quite sweet with the sauce added. My fish was cooked and I enjoyed my salad. The wait staff was very friendly. It seems as if the apps would be better. Not sure about recommendations for this location. First time here and had GREAT service and food! Started with drinks and gave us popcorn to snack on while we looked over the menu. I asked the host what he eats here and he recommended the smashburger, which was really good. They also have the super skinny fries, which we really like! I had the chicken fajita flatbread and it was also delicious - especially liked the queso sauce on it - just a slight bit of heat that added to the flavor of the chicken, peppers and onions! Chuck Underground - Disappointing Experience This place took the spot of Ole Charlie's, but there's really no comparison -- and not in a good way. The food was honestly the worst I've had in a long time. The prime rib was overcooked and dry, and the cheeseburger tasted like old meat. We drive by Chucks almost daily and have been waiting for them to open! My wife (Pregnant) and I stopped in for dinner. Service was wonderful and Emily was fantastic at her job. Appetizer (Buffalo Chicken Dip) By far the worst I've ever had. Kinda soupy, kinda strange, kinda spicy and tasteless at the same time. Not to mention the dark meat chicken that the manager insisted was added in to add flavor to the dip. Kinda looked like the meat that comes out of my dogs wet food can. Take out the meat and the ick slightly decreases... Entree - Wife (Smash Burger) 6/10. Said it wasn't the best but also said it wasn't the worst. Special sauce is thousand island which she enjoys. My entree- (Mango Habanero bone in wings) 7/10. Wings were cooked good and sauce was okay. ( I compare all sauces to BW3s) especially a mango habanero. This was our first visit but it won't be our last! I don't understand the negative reviews at all. We ordered the pretzel, sunny up burger (cooked to medium-rare perfection) and the smash burger and all were fantastic! That was the best pretzel I've ever had! We loved that popcorn was served and the service was not notch. We were checked on my the manager twice and really felt like this place valued its customers. It was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a while... and we go out to eat at least 20 times a month. My family and I have been to Underground Chucks since it opened a handful of times and it has been wonderful experiences each time. However, I'd like to shout out our latest experience when my mom, grandma, and I were eating at the restaurant the other day to celebrate my birthday. I've been vegetarian for five years and can get very sick if I eat meat, but my grandma doesn't eat a lot of food from cultures that are more accomodating for me. The overwhelming majority of restaurants in the area that she can eat at don't offer meatless options with any nutritional value. Options have also notably decreased recently due to unecessary politicization of what at the end of the day is a health and safety risk for many people. Due to all these factors, it can be very difficult for us to find somewhere to provide for everyone. While it might seem silly to people not relying on the option, offering the alternative black bean patty has changed that significantly for us. Because of that small inclusion, Underground Chucks has provided us with a space to eat at that accomodates all of our dietary needs, saving us significant time and stress. It just so happens that the other day when we were at the restaurant the black bean patty was forgotten for a beef patty and I had accidentally taken two small bites of it. If it paints the picture, those two bites made me have notable issues with cramping and digestion for around two days. When the issue was brought up to staff they took it incredibly seriously and were very concerned and apologetic about the mistake. This is so so huge for me, as often when I have to send meals with accidental meat included, staff are often annoyed and flippant about the concerns raised by a long-term vegetarian eating meat. There are several restaurants around the area that don't know what a vegetarian is. Having staff care and understand the risks involved with accidental ingestion of meat, particularly red meat, meant the world to me. Because of the accessibility for us as well as the amazing service we had, especially once the issue was addressed, we will 100% be back. It's because of options like this that I can feel like less of a burden to my family and more welcomed in the area I grew up in. I really want to shout out and thank the entire team for caring so much and for providing an excellent quality service each time we've eaten at the restaurant. read more

First time at Underground Chucks. What a disaster! There with adult children, spouses and granddaughter. 7 total. 5 of seven did not get their meals as ordered. Specific instructions given, but seemed to be ignored or something different done to the food. Too done when specified medium, way too undergone when specified "well done/ no pink". Steak cooked medium, when specified (and repeated) "rare". Asked for reg fries, but received sweet potatoes waffle fries. The most pitiful serving of cold onion pedals, or whatever they call them. We didn't go out together to have a fuss with a server or the manager, so we all just ate our food. The 'manager' did come by and ask, "How's everyone's food tasting?" But not one person even looked up or spoke back to him. He should have dug a bit deeper. But it was our first and last visit. O' Charley can change his name to Chuck and go underground, but the food and service got worse! Go the Chili's or Rooster's but don't waste your time or money at Underground Chuck's. read more
