A beer that needs refilled as I sit at the bar with no one else here.

Stay away. Manager named Zed. Horrible customer service. Restrooms are filthy. Food is gross.

I was lucky enough to be able to participate in Submarine House Kettering's soft opening a couple of times back in March. Let me preface this by saying that Submarine House is one of those Dayton restaurants with a cult following that I do not understand. It's overpriced and I've never had great food through dine in, carryout, or delivery, from various locations. I've given it multiple chances and I just don't get the hype. But I was more than willing to give a new location a try, and try some new things. Our first night was a Sunday night. It was busy! Every table was full, there were multiple managers and multiple employees manning every inch of the restaurant. It was loud. Didn't bother me, except that I couldn't hear the server at all. I eventually realized that it was the server and not the environment. She was extremely soft spoken and we had to ask her to repeat herself every time she came to the table and said something. It took us a while to get greeted initially. They were busy, but with the abundance of workers, it was painfully obvious when we were just sitting there, employees in every corner, but no one helping us. The server did not bring us silverware or appetizer plates. Even when the entrees came, we still didn't have silverware. There was a long lull in between the apps and entrees. There was no sugar caddy on the table, (lemonade was ordered). We were not given a check at the end of the meal, so we pulled up the menu on our phones to see what our bill would have been and to tip accordingly. The food was great, but the service was noticeably lacking. It wasn't terrible by any means, but issues were noticeable. I'm so glad that we went back for a second night, because Monday was a completely different experience! They were noticeably less busy. We sat a high top in the bar area. A server greeted us before I had even put my purse down. She wasn't even our server, but was letting us know that our server needed a minute and she was going to start us with drinks while we waited. Both she and our actual server were great! Very knowledgeable, friendly, easy to hear. We got silverware and app plates right away. At the end of the meal, we were given checks for our drinks and a check showing what our comped bill was. Food was great for the second night, and this time the service took a huge step up too! Tuesday we sat at the bar. Another busy night! Every table was full again, but it didn't look like they had as many employees working. Seems that the secret of being able to walk in without a reservation had gotten around to a few more people. More great service. Made friends with some fellow patrons. More great food! One of my friends made a comment that the food tasted so much better on new, clean equipment. Being a Submarine House doubter myself, I also enjoyed the food more than any other experience I've had at a Sub House. The food was always piping hot and fresh. Our orders were accurate. The staff was friendly and attentive, (with the exception of our first experience). The entire place is clean, open and inviting. They opened to the public on March 30th. I took some photos of the place for those who couldn't make it to the soft opening. Most of the seating is in the bar area. Lots of TVs throughout. They have a small patio with a fire pit that looks really nice and a garage door that opens to the inside. I think that will be a really nice area in the warmer months. No outside TVs though, (yet?). There are outlets under the bar to charge your phone, but no purse hooks. ‍ (I was told later that there were indeed purse hooks, but I couldn't find them. ‍) Overall, we had a couple of really great experiences. It's kind of bitter sweet, because now I know the standard that Sub House is capable of and what they can actually do when they're giving it 110%. I really hope that they continue to give great service and that the quality of food continues at this level after the newness of the restaurant wears off. Definitely my best Submarine House experience out of any other locations!

Wings with feathers.

Wings had feathers. Cheesesteak was meh. Even with all of the tvs, it was difficult to see the game I was watching. Not impressed.

Good subs and appetizers and the staff is consistently great. Always willing to find the best events on the most convenient screens.

Great food and service. Plus they have teezers, so that alone would give them 4 stars.

The service at this place is awful. Will never go back! Waited over an hour & half & it wasn't even crowded.

They have a great selection of food on the menu, so was just right for our group. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken wrap with blue cheese dressing and loaded mashed potatoes, others in our group enjoyed wings, soup & salad, salmon sandwich and chicken quesadillas. Our food was served hot from the oven & was so good. Great service, and our waitress filled our soda, tea & water several times. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall area off of Stroop road. It's near the Vapor Haus vape shop and the Speedway gas station that sits at the corner of Stroop and Marshall Rd. If you pass that Speedway, you've gone too far. Inside, the restaurant has a typical sports bar vibe. It's well lit, clean but nothing spectacular. The menu does offer a variety of choices. Service is really good. We were seated fast and orders were taken shortly afterwards. I got the fish and chips. The deep fried fish was good but average in my opinion. The fries were tasty. It satisfied my hunger but it was just average to me. My girlfriend got the chili bowl with jalapeño cornbread. She liked it but again felt it was average fare. The portions are pretty big but bigger doesn't necessarily mean it's better. I will probably try again but I think the burgers are a better option than the fish and chips. There was a decent sized crowd here, so TJ Chumps is doing something right. I'd like to try some of their other menu choices. I recommend. The service is good and the wait crew enthusiastic.

We met our kids in Dayton, which is about a halfway point for us each, for lunch this Saturday. We'd been wanting a good burger so I started looking for options and when I saw this place it was a no brainer. Slyders did not disappoint! The burgers are done on a flat top that's probably been in their kitchen since they opened in 1948. Talk about flavor!! The burger is good quality, tender, and full of great beef flavor, cranked out on that flat top to a crispy brown exterior. Great fresh tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles and cheese make this burger oh so good!! Add a basket of perfectly fried HUGE onion rings and a cold beer, there's nothing better!! Top top it off the service was incredible. We had 3 or 4 guys stopping by checking on drinks, napkins, ect... The energy in this bar was comfortable and you felt like you were a "regular" even if you'd never stepped in the door before in your life. With big bear hugs and handshakes we left full of great food and a warm soul. Slyders is going on my "ride for a burger" list this summer on the bikes. It'll be well worth 2hr ride to get there!! .

First impressions/ dive bar? Is this the place? Second impression/ my favorite burger and drink bar in the area, hands down. Service isn't always quick, they are busy- but I sit at the bar and enjoy another drink and leave with a full belly, and happy. What a great place. If I lived closer I'd be there once a week. I see children there but it's mostly adults. Good place.

Geez Grill & Pub…read more This "not so Italian sports bar" is very popular in Washington Township; we visit Dorothy Lane Market several times per week and observe the Geez Grill & Pub parking lot to be very busy. We have history of dining at both Geez locations. This newer location has proven to be a winner for Geez Grill & Pub. The eclectic menu offers several food choices, including wings, which are anathema to us. Somewhat difficult to place Geez Grill & Pub in the Italian column, although the meatballs are a clear winner. We recommend adding an order of the Giallombardo family meatballs to any meal. Lots of folks and families like this popular location, and the building has hosted a variety of failed restaurants. Today's lunch groups involve several large round tables of friends. Geez Grill & Pub is an attractive setting for geriatric groups. For the New Year, our Senior Tennis Athletes from Five Seasons and now Quail Run has reserved a very large table. Bill, thanks for the arrangements. Terri, thanks for pulling this off. Our Senior Tennis Athletes order from all over the menu. A large menu is not necessarily a "good thing." Clear winners: Reuben and French Dip. The service is exceptional and merits 20% tips. Ambience is modern sports bar with some noise. Very little Italian to order from, and I have an interest cod filet today. Wishing Cod Au Gratin were offered, but this dish is beyond the reach of the kitchen. We recommend Bonefish Grill for Cod Au Gratin. Oh, today's special is pot roast - very light on the roast, and heavy on the root veggies - an average rendering of this dish; guess they forgot the seasonings. There are a few Italians at the table, and they all avoid the Italian dishes. My dear wife who was raised in her nonna's and her mother's kitchen is a champion Italian Cook and I agree with her viewpoint that there is much better Italian at home. She has a generations old special sauce, and we both are quite addicted to her home cooking. Clearly it is the delight of the company of Our Senior Tennis Athletes today that greatly enhances our dining experience. Very pleased to see that all of these friends are healthy and energetic for New Year, and thanks to Geez Grill & Pub for hosting us, and providing several options for our group. Caveat: always a reservation. Geez Grill is full by 12:20 PM. Geez Grill & Pub is a decent setting for senior citizen, and lots more parking than in previous location.
