The food was good, but the service, not great. Had trouble getting the check and was charged for vegetables ordered but not received. Had a different waitress adjust that since ours disappeared. Maybe it's me, but, in 2026 people use their credit cards for everything and I think we shouldn't be billed for not carrying cash. Just build that into the price. We had a wonderful dinner here on a Saturday evening as we were visiting the area. Lisa, our server was excellent, so friendly and helpful when we asked her for menu suggestions and perfectly attentive when we needed refills and such. We had a party of 4. Every one of us was so pleased with our food. We had salmon, steak, and pork chops. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was amazing. This is a really rustic warm place. It is extremely clean and a good selection on the menu. I had the cod sandwich which personally I would not recommend because it was pretty tasteless actually. My guest got the spinach salad and french onion soup which she said was all pretty tasty. We also got the fried button mushrooms to start the meal and those were really good. The fries were very good as well. I would recommend this place and I will go back for a second chance at menu selection. The prices are reasonable but the drinks ( Mimosas) doubled the bill. read more

Haven't been at this restaurant for several years. Used to join coworkers at lunch and it was an easy spot to get a quick lunch, prices were reasonable. Going in recently I noticed it's had some updates and it's still a nice environment. There are still a lot of regular customers it seemed. Friendly with staff and seemed comfortable. It was for us too. The after lunch prices might be a little elevated , sirloin steak upward near $30 but the food was good and sandwiches were reasonable. Great relaxed atmosphere, decent food and friendly staff will keep them as a choice for our next meal out. read more

A cozy rustic cafe serving upscale food. This is the true definition of Gastropub. One year ago, my hubby and I came upon this little gem during one of our adventure Saturdays. We were very impressed with the Cuban and Cheesesteak sandwiches. This time we ordered the Red and White Sangrias, the Texas Logs, hand breaded Button Mushrooms, Chicken Salad Wrap, Chicken Club with fries and homemade chips. They were out of the Texas logs so we subbed out for cheese curds. The cheese curds were good but not the best I've had... but that is the only thing that we ordered that did not "wow" us. The mushrooms are fabulous! Lightly handbreaded and the biggest button mushrooms! Our server was fabulous! She was attentive and friendly. The bathroom is a single and is very clean and also decorated in the rustic theme. So...I have to say I'm thrilled to be able to post a four-star review. It remains on our top 10 list... And we'll be back. The only reason it was four stars and not five is I really wanted the Texas logs and the cheese curds, although good, didn't have the wow factor. read more

This was my first time coming here. The reason my friend and I can here was we saw a picture of a tomahawk porkchop. It's not on there menu anymore. I think they need to update their pictures. However it wasn't a total loss. My friend and I decided to get their full rack of baby back ribs. They were awesome seeing they came from a oven. The sauce was a little too thick for my liking. The fully baked potatoe & green beans were very good. We both had to get a To go box because we even finish the half rack. They were a treat the next day. I think their strawberry delight was the best I've ever had. We can't wait to go back again when we are really hungry. It would have 5 stars if the ribs had been smoked. I recently moved back home after living in Columbus for the past 10+ years where the food is awesome and nothing here seems to be as good. Until I found this place. This is easily the best restaurant in Springfield. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had the meatloaf special and my girlfriend had the straw hat burger. Not one thing on either of our plates was bad. Even the fries were some of the best I've ever had. I can't wait to come back here and try everything! read more

Steak was delicious however the sauce was sooo salty it was ridiculous. Most of the steaks arrived over cooked. Nobody was sending them back it would have taken too long to refire 5 filets. The lobster risotto was over cooked, it was not creamy and el dente. It was so starchy you could mold into softballs. The lobster was chewy, over cooked and lukewarm. I'm guessing these items had been precooked much earlier and then attempted to be reheated quickly. The big issue was the lack of wine glasses and wine! The first 3 wines we ordered were out of stock. But the server kept having to return each time to tell us it was OOS. So finally she said, let me just tell you what we do have. !! They were out of Cabernet Sauvignon (and the dinner special is filet mignon?!) unbelievable. No Malbec's either. We settled on a bottle of white Kung Fu girl Riesling and a bottle of Federalist Zinfandel. We asked for 5 wine glasses. The first 2 were brought out with greasy fingerprints on them. I asked for them to be replaced not realizing they didn't have replacements because they only have 6 glasses in the entire place. And they're $1 store glasses to boot. After 30 minutes of no glasses I went to the bar to ask. They brought me out the 2 glasses they had just washed and boy were they hot. They found a couple more so we're finally up to 4 wine glasses now. An hour has passed and I still can't drink the king fu girl because I never got the 5th glass. So I ask the server again and she pointed to the glass with red wine in it and said, "isn't that your glass?"'I said yes and then she asked, "why can't you use that one?" Well for one it already had red wine in it and for another you typically don't add white wine to red. She was clueless. So I never did get to enjoy my Riesling with my Caesar salad, which was delicious btw. I had Zinfandel with my salad and Riesling with my steak. Stick to bottled beer here I guess. Springfield just doesn't seem to have a restaurant that cares about wine and food at all. Oh well. And maybe dust the light fixtures, too many cobwebs. read more

Went here for the first time today based on the reviews, I got the traditional burger, medium, the server was nice although it took 15 minutes or so to get my drink, the burger was pretty underwhelming, dry, no seasoning that I could detect and they put arugula on it instead of lettuce as listed on the menu, I don't mind arugula per se but it's not lettuce and there was way too much of it (see pic), on a scale of 1-10 I'd rate the burger a 3, wouldn't order it again. A lovely place and in this time of pandemic it is fantastic that they have a nice outdoor dining area, which is beside a fairly quiet street and fenced in with an attractive structure.
