This was our first time to visit Stella Bleu and we were not disappointed. We had an allergy daughter with us and the staff (Katlyn) was very conscientious and checked with the chef many times and the meal and the evening was outstanding. The one daughter wanted to try the pork chops and it came out tender and wonderfully seasoned. The drinks were exceptionally delicious as the bartender highly recommended some of the drinks and the wine was very affordable and enjoyable to drink. The restaurant area is quite large but cozy with space between the tables. The sun was out in the patio area and they had limited awnings to cover the tables. I especially like that the chef stopped by the table to inquire about the meal. The stop here was a very nice surprise. read more

A nicely decorated bistro near my hotel in Springfield. My server, Rachael, was delightful. She made recommendations for the Bleu Cosmo and red wine that were delicious. I enjoyed the spinach salad with Gorgonzola, cornbread croutons and warm bacon dressing and the herb biscuits with salted molasses butter, although the biscuits were a bit too salty for my taste, even without the butter. The panko breaded chicken cutlet was hot and juicy. The tortellini with spinach was good, however I enjoyed the spinach the most. Servings were generous. read more

We had the hummus appetizer that was served with warm pita! Absolutely delicious way to start the night. The staff were very nice and gave us time to look over the menu diligently. I had the Cassidy salad with the chicken. Very good. The spinach did get soggy but that's just salad being salad. And dessert was the pecan sundae with waffles, a delicious way to cap off a great night. read more

My wife and I came here for date night. From the beginning the staff were far too busy chatting with one another than cater to the needs of patrons. Cocktails were slow to arrive and we were pestered often to order despite not even getting our cocktails to enjoy a leisurely evening. Cocktails were mediocre in presentation and very scant given their price point. Meals were ordered and were plentiful and tasty. However, within an hour of eating the gut wrenching pain of a food borne staph infection made the whole experience atrocious. read more

Ok, I provide the 4 not due to the food, but instead the service. Honestly I ordered a $45 Ribeye and the potatoes were rocks and the Steak was so inundated by the sauce you could not taste the meat and it was gristle. That said, I was asked how my meal was and I told the truth, but I had no assumptions that they would comp me in whole. EXCELLENT service and terrific food. We started with the delicious hummus and warm (yes perfectly pleasing warm) pita bread. Accompanied with a Lemon Shakeup cocktail which was a happy hour $6 special, refreshing and satisfying. Entrees were the San Francisco linguine with garlic, tomatoes and shrimp served hot, giving it a high 5* rating. Featured special was the Three cheese raviolis in a creamy sauce which was unique and delicious (husband) ate every bite. Generous portions for both entrees and Scott was an excellent server. We ordered office pick up so I can't speak on the location, ambiance or service. However I can speak to the food. It was absolutely outstanding!! I ordered the Vegan Gumbo and.......omg........ so delicious. Crunchy fried banana peppers provide the perfect complement to the trinity vegetables and mushrooms with the subtle hot sauce over rice. I was totally enamored by this dish that it was hoovered down in no time. I probably should've savored it a little more so that it would've lasted longer. I shared the brownie dessert with my staff. We started with the black bean Rangoon. No crab in this, just excellent flavor matching. I had the Seasonal Spin salad (spinach peach delicious salad). Size was small for the price but the flavor was excellent. Next I had the blue ravs ( mushroom ravioli with blue cheese and just wonderful flavors.) Upscale dining has arrived in Springfield Ohio. I tried this new restaurant last night (a Wednesday) for a dinner date at 7pm and my expectations were exceeded on every single level. My first hint this was going to be a great dining experience (other than Sandy P's initial review which included a photo of lunch selection and the menu) was the parking on N Fountain, which I can normally snag a street parking spot to step into a coffee shop without any issue, was completely packed and both public parking lots across the street were more than half full as well. I got excited as I circled the block to make another landing into a parking space. Located in a historic storefront, the restaurant has a fresh renovation and still has some components in process - namely a large outdoor patio which I'm looking forward to very much. I would have never guessed based on the efficiency of the staff or the quality of the food this restaurant has only been open for a few weeks - I was instantly regretful I did not make a reservation. MAKE A RESERVATION. Truth be told, I like sitting at the bar at a restaurant when I'm there with a party of 4 or less. It's more relaxed and let's face it - you have the best access to your bartender / mixologist / best friend for the night and their fabulous concoctions if you are so inclined. We were both inclined and each tried a different cocktail as we studied the menu. The menu has a nice assortment of options all around. On one side, the drinks menu with bourbons, wines, beers and cocktails and on the other side, the dining menu with a good amount of appetizers, salads, pastas and dinner entrees. Speciality drinks ordered: His: summer old-fashioned (bulliet bourbon, muddled blueberries, fresh lemon juice) Mine: elderflower gin gimlet (hendrick's gin, st. germaine, muddled cucumber and fresh lemon juice) The drinks were delicious and very appealing. Dinner was as well. For dinner, we each got a salad because "it was only Wednesday". We got the "Seasoned Spin" which was a baby spinach salad with charred peaches, candied pistachios and prosecco vinaigrette. I added blackened chicken and he added salmon. Well, actually - he had intended on ordering the blackened salmon entree (cast iron seared, candied bacon rosti potato, caramelized shallot jam, lemon caper roquette salad) but since he ordered after me and we were at the bar - assumption was made he was ordering the same thing as I did but with different add-on. I am rarely tempted by dessert - but their dessert menu is tempting. Bourbon creme brulee, lemon cheesecake (with pistachio cookie crust), terrapin sundae or a peach shortcake-like dessert called "eat a peach". Since it was only Wednesday, I considered my pre-dinner cocktail my dessert but will be indulging a next time. I'm already thinking of when the next time will be - so this restaurant is at the top of my "Springfield Restaurants" list. read more

My daughter is an incoming freshman at Witt, so we thought we'd come up a bit early to check out the town and help her get her bearings before everyone came back to campus. We visited Stella Bleu. We were greeted promptly and got a table relatively quick... a good start. However, we were quickly disappointed. The menu was very limited and very over priced. My typical go-to at upscale restaurants is a filet, but at $43, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I don't mind paying for good quality food but a filet typically cost me around $30. and I couldn't justify the price hike. Maybe it's inflation, but that seems like a lot. We started with the Stella Frite, which is supposed to be similar to cheese fries. They had way too much balsamic vinegar and were soggy. Not terrible, but also not good. Then biscuits were brought out with some type of honey molasses butter. The butter had no flavor, but the biscuits were good. At this point it felt like they were trying too hard to be bougie. Then our entrees came. My little boy got grilled cheese and fries. This was the best meal at the table. My daughter got the San Fran pasta and barely touched it. She said it wasn't bad, just underwhelming. I got the spinach salad. It came with croutons that were sweet, a sweet strawberry dressing doused the spinach leaves and one clump of cheese sat on the edge of the plate. It was pitiful. I ate two bites and couldn't stomach the massive amounts of dressing. No, I didn't complain. I could have, but I didn't see an adult the whole time I was there and these 18 year old girls don't get paid enough to listen to people gripe. Besides, they were too busy talking about a Raider's cheerleader who was apparently coming in with a large party later that evening. Overall, a solid thumbs down. read more

Went for lunch the other day around noon, so quite a few people were seated. Most looked like work associates, possibly having a holiday lunch on the boss because most groups looked ( I know this is speculative) as if they'd never hang out together otherwise . We were immediately welcomed and brought water, and our waitress came to take our orders timely. I ordered a small hot bacon/ grilled chicken salad and tomato bisque, my daughter a grilled cheese/ tomato bisque. Within 10 min the waitress brings a salad, states " your dressings on the side", it was presented to me, I unfolded my napkin, preparing to pour dressing and within the minute or so the waitress had left, she quickly returned and literally snatched it from in front of me, no apology, just said " That's not Yours!!!" As if I stole it! Then ran it over to the two ladies sitting beside us and gave it, as is, to one of them. The lady didn't witness this I don't think, but I'm pretty sure the table of 6 in front of us had a witness or two to this. We were stunned. Absolutely speechless. Ten min go by, she brings my soup. Nothing for my daughter and more or less as an appetizer? Hmmm, ok, we let it slide. I did ask if she was certain it was mine. ( yes, had to get a little snarky, but hey, no apology!). It was good. Most of the lunch menu ( which is pretty small) is overpriced for the presentation. Supposedly "fine dining" but that is a stretch in every way. The "hot bacon" dressing wasn't even partially warm, the salad was spinach leaves, cheese, a few croutons ( dressing already applied) and a piece of lukewarm chicken in slices on the side. Wasn't horrible but not exceptional by any means. I could've made it from Kroger's salad bar much better for the $11 for a half salad. We started noticing the table in front of us, clearly as confused as we were with service. Two at table of six served full lunch, the others waited patiently for ten min or more, until two more were brought their meals, 5+ min longer the last two received their meal. The service was horrible. I'm not sure where the fault lies but I know our server, Kathy, didn't explain any of the issues. All the wait staff looked literally like they were over ran with serving. One girl literally sprinting to the kitchen and looked like she was hurrying to do something life saving! I can't recommend this as a fine dining experience at all. I wanted to, and I'm all for local businesses doing well but if this physician owned restaurant is trying to be prosperous in hopes of having a resource after retirement he needs to look at the issues of better menus, more help, or possibly experienced help, and with the prices the food should be better than what I could've whipped up for the grandkids on a whim. I also noticed we were never offered a desert menu, which we may or may not have attempted since the lunch took well over an hour to get. Just would've been a thoughtful thing for a waitress to offer. Might try again at dinner but if meals are likely $25+ on the low end for an entree I will expect a lot more than what we saw or received today. read more

A friend and I ate here before a concert at the Rose Music Center. We knew nothing about the place but the menu looked good. I am so glad we picked it! The food was fantastic. We had the fried pierogies and what made them so special was the sauces they had for them: toasted onion dip and tomato marmalade - unique and amazing. They were clearly homemade. I had a salad with blackened salmon with blue cheese dressing. Loved the salmon and the dressing was the best blue cheese I had every tasted. I want to go back again to check out some of their other unique accompaniments to their food. The place was a little understaffed and they had a couple of large parties going on but they seemed to manage to handle it all and our service did not suffer. I highly recommend it. read more

Enjoyed a very satisfying business lunch at Stella Bleu with two colleagues. While it's more than I'd typically spend on myself for lunch, the cost is not unreasonable for a business lunch, special occasion or celebration. Two of us opted for the Bleu Ravs, a generous serving of local black garlic mushroom ravioli served in a very tasty and subtle poblano cream and bleu cheese sauce with sweet corn relish. It comes with a slice of grilled French bread perfect for mopping up the sauce as well as a side salad. The other member of our party had the Southern Cuban sandwich, a huge concoction that comes with country ham, smoked pork, pimento cheese, pickles and mustard on a Cuban roll. Half went home with him. The service was very efficient and the sound level was perfect for conversation. Parking out front is quite time limited so be prepared to park a little further out and walk. read more

The servers were wearing jeans and hoodies with chuck Taylor's, which isn't a huge deal, but it definitely didn't match what they were trying to go for. We asked several questions, none of which the server was able to answer. The food was overpriced and bland. I got the butter chicken, and my partner got the salmon. Her salmon was the best part of our experience. My chicken was weird, rubbery, and seemed to be bad, leftover cuts of chicken that couldn't be used otherwise. We also had a lemon shake cocktail, and it tasted like koolaid, but they claimed it was hand squeezed lemonade. For dessert, we ordered creme brûlée, and out came a chocolate mint Andes creme brûlée, which our server did not mention. It was awful. For almost $100 including tip, I expected much more. This place is sitting on prime real estate and there's a lot that they could do, but they aren't doing it. There's No way I'd go back. read more

Great spot for Springfield. Been here twice now and very good both times. Grilled cheese sandwich is legit! Very good and tomato soup that accompanies it solid. My only complaint is they won't do burgers at medium rare. My father had one med to well and said it was the best burger he has ever had. Alright Springfield acting like a big city with a great meal. We had a meeting that went long so we arrived after 9:30 pm. Three of us were really looking forward to our first dinner visit and, the staff did not let us down. The young lady that served us was very pleasant and very professional. She knew the menu and made great suggestions. We ordered the bone in ribeye and southwest sampler. Our steaks were grilled to perfection. The side salad was fresh and crisp. While waiting for our meals the young lady kept our glasses full. My one and only concern was the plating. It just wasn't what I expected. It wasn't enough of a concern to bring the dining experience below a full 5 stars.
