Station 1 is an unpretentious dope spot for wangs, pizza, and some brews. Found this place while out in the area for work. The mango habanero and parmesan garlic honey wings were effin delicious! Their pizza was super good. The prices... so damn cheap for the quality of food. A cool place to hang out and chill and have some drinks. It happened to be trivia and wing night. So much fun! My Fiance and I really enjoy the food here. Unfortunately, whenever we try to order carry out- the line rings busy. Multiple times we have had to go in and order and the phone is just on and sitting there so no calls can get through. I attempted to order food last night, after the 3rd call the woman answered and said "HOLD" and proceeded to say "I hate this goddamn phone" and placed the phone down. Thanksgiving night was stayed overnight in a hotel which had nothing open to eat. We walked down to station 1 and was able to have a chef salad that was way more then 1 person could eat. Husband had a chicken finger sandwich and a pitcher of beer. We enjoyed the bar and food. read more

Yup, just a whole in the wall that paid off. Needed a spot after a long drive and stumbled on this bar instead of the brewery for some reason. Either way we had some nachos and jalapeño cheesy bread they hit the spot. Nachos were burnt which was actually perfect and the bread had a hefty amount of cheese. Ended up leaving after sitting ourselves and not seeing any waitstaff and only one bartender who didn't even acknowledge us. Maybe it's one of those places where the locals know how to order and get service, but we took our business elsewhere. I wish I could like Station 1 more considering it is within easy walking distance from my apartment. I am a recent graduate of Wittenberg college and I have certainly had some good times there, but only during college event days like St. Patricks day, homecoming or Wittfest. Unfortunately the bar is usually crowded by a much older crowd that makes me uncomfortable. If you just want lunch and a beer its great--get a pizza, sit on the gorgeous patio overlooking the river, etc--but if you're looking to party at a local bar and you're under 40 you should probably avoid this particular one. They occasionally have live performances (on the aforementioned, very nice back patio) which I can hear clearly from my back porch. These bands are of the wailing, passe, pop-rock variety. Nickelback covers....shudder.... I hate that the creepy, older-drinking atmosphere pervades late night Station since the only alternative, McMurrays Irish Pub, is a haven of sloppy, underage freshmen drinking. They're each a little sad in their own way, though I choose the former over the latter any day. At least Station 1 has a tasty, hot veggie pizza. P.S. The parking situation is a little peculiar...you can park across the street next to the pawn shop if the front lot is full. read more

I'm a fan. I don't venture into Springfield much, but this seems like a pretty solid place. A great summer place, as they can open up the walls and there is a pretty awesome patio in the back. They book some pretty sweet bands too, when I went The Menu's were playing. Pretty stellar band and I had a great time. Everytime I go there seems to be a good crowd. The alcohol isn't tooe expensive and they have a decent selection on draft. read more

Ive been here a time or 2. And I love wings, and up until a few weeks ago I really loved the wings. It was pretty busy, so I knew I would have to wait. And that is fine, I expect to wait for a good wing to eat. When I ordered, I asked for my 18 wings to be tossed in mild and hot together. The lady working the register said ok sure But we probably won't do it. she seemed rude , and I could tell even with a mask she seemed like she didn't care what I wanted. I'm a blue cheese kinda fella so I wanted blue cheese. Now, I don't care about the 45 minute wait, however I do care about how the chef would not toss my mild and hot sauce together as a mixture that I wanted. Instead my wings came plain with a side of hot And a side of the mild On the side. Which is not what i asked for at all. I am paying for multiple sauces and you cannot even toss them all together. What is the difference Than saucing 2 orders of wings with 2 different sauces. I'm paying good money for this food. And I really hate I do not get what I specifically ask for. If I am paying you, make my order at least half way right. You have lost my businessman along with my customers that visit on a monthly basis. I used to send them your way. I will no longer being doing that due to my last experience. Please educate your staff on being polite and actually wanting to make a customer happy and excited to return. read more

I tried to play Alice's Restaurant (18 minutes long) only THREE times in a row, and they SKIPPED IT. Absolute censorship of music.

Our visit to this establishment was terrible. Everything we tried to order, they were out of, from wings to beer to liquor, and to top it off, the bartender, who was drinking on the job, was extremely rude and provided us with lack-luster, slow service. When we played music on the jukee-box, she would turn the volume up really high for songs she had played, then turn it way down for our songs! The food was terrible, too. Being a recent graduate, I miss this place more than anything. Compared the the other local bar "McMurray's" the crowd here is down to earth and not thirsty for late night hook-ups(even if it might happen). The Juke Box always plays good music, mostly because the ppl here have good taste and the selection is great anyways. The bar is for upperclassmen who just want to chill and get good drinks and share libations with bar tenders and each other. On the weekends, there are rarely any "townies", but if there are, they are super nice and old enough that they don't hit on every creature that walks in. All in all, Station 1 is great. During the weekdays, come take a stroll for good food, esp the make your own subs and of course...the pizza! read more

Usually my go to because of beer selection. I haven't been to many bars in Springfield so I'm not sure if others have Arrogant Bastard and Dales Pale Ale on tap but Station does so that's basically the reason I enjoy it. The crowd can be iffy. Usual Wittenberg students but I don't go to socialize with strangers,though it tends to happen frequently. Most are friendly. The staff is great. The bartender 'House' is great. They have a touchscreen jukebox and most of the time there is shitty music playing but I've gotten used to it. Overall it's a decent place to grab a drink. This is my local bar that my boyfriend, friends, family and pretty much everyone goes to. The pizza is great and the craft beer selection is good too. Just be careful ordering a draft beer that isn't poured too often because the lines usually get backed up and it comes out funky. I just wish that I was cleaner and better kept up with. Whenever I use the bathroom, it's usually out of toilet paper or someone threw up in the sink. Come on Springfield, let's get it together.. read more

I'm not much of a hang out in a bar kind of guy but one of the places I like to go and station one. I like that it's a neighborhood joint and that's got plenty of TVs and a whole bunch of beers on tap most of which I will never even try. The Miller Lite or the Yuengling is my preference from draft beer. Station one does however make one of the best pizzas in the City of Springfield. They're Deluxe pizza is out of this world. I don't think there are any other places in town that put as much ingredients on their pizzas as station one does. The price is very reasonable and with a cold beer there is nothing better period last weekend we went to meet friends down at the brewery and beforehand we stopped and got one of the great Deluxe pizzas from station one. We couldn't finish the pizza we ordered so we packed it up and took it to the brewery with us where our friends enjoyed our leftovers. They were all very happy to try a really great pizza and they all said that was a place that they will try sometime. One positive about station 1....they have a large tap select! One downside to Station 1...tap selection is large but it does no good if you can't get anyone to serve you!! First of all, the term "townies" is pretty damn pretentious. That term alone helps anyone identify a snot nosed college student from a mile away. I am a college educated individual that has lived in Springfield for over 15 years. It still annoys me when some 19 year old comes to our town and gets annoyed by "townies". Your in our home town.Shut up and deal with it. As far as the bar goes, It is a run of the mill bar that has more college students than the average bar being that it is within close proximity of Wittenburg. With that being said, if you can tolerate the classic trendy sub culture of college students, you may have a good time. Other than that, don't count on it for a unique treasure nestled within Springfield. Just beware of awkward self conscious college students that have no other destination within walking distance to attend. Sure, some may be hot, but being socially stunted by the average norms of college life may make it awkward for the average adult attending this bar to have a great time. read more

The bar has a good selection of alcohol and the prices are alright, but there are several big detriments to this establishment. First, the physical layout of the bar leads to very cramped seating and awkward flowing of persons. Second, the bouncers are not to be trusted. The last time I went there I was kicked out by one of their bouncers. I paid a $5 cover fee, waited in line to buy a drink for 10 minutes, and was then told I had to leave because I was wearing a jersey which violated their dress code. The infraction? Wearing a jersey ON GAME DAY. I was sober (had not even been served yet within the 10 minutes) and told that jerseys could only be worn on game days - of which it WAS a game day, in fact, both of their TVs above the bar were playing the game. The bouncer then said jerseys weren't allowed because of gang affiliations and said "it doesn't matter what your race is." I did not even bring up race! I then asked for his name so that I could leave a complaint to the owner. He then became irate and to top matters off one of his relatives (who is NOT an employee) came up to me and began threatening me. To make matters worse, I was there with a group of alumni from Wittenberg (from where I graduated) and was terribly embarrassed by the entire ordeal. The third problem that this bar has is in fact, a problem with thugs. I've been there multiple times and have seen and smelled groups of ten and more people smoking marijuana blunts on their front porch (towards the dumpsters) Known community coke dealers like to hangout at this establishment during the university off season and there is no doubt in my mind that this place would be home to a good deal of violence if not for the fact that it is only one block from the police station. The place does have a pretty sweet and scenic back area with a stage for live entertainment - if you like geriatric bands. Besides the beer, the place serves food - of which there pizza used to be good - but about a year ago they got a different cook / changed their recipe and their pizza now is the worst in all of Springfield (I would rather eat Little Caesar's). This is a great bar to go to if you've only been to mediocre bars your whole life. Does have space heaters outside for smokers so that's a plus if you smoke, but they're located directly at the front door. read more

This was my favorite bar for 3 years. I ate here at least twice a week. One night, while there with my parents, our order took over an hour and a half. My father asked the bartender what the wait was and she told him that it 'wasn't her problem'. I asked for another pitcher of beer while we waited and was told to go f*** my self. Their servers are absolutely rude. They're completely under staffed but the bartenders make you feel bad for ordering something. I went there for a homecoming event with Wittenberg and waited 20 minutes for service, while I was standing there, people who walked up after I did were getting served before me. Clearly a lack in attention. She was very rude, very unpleasant, and clearly didn't have an understanding of good customer service. I will never return to this bar. I do not suggest it. You will not be happy. Pizza is gross, food is stale, liquor drinks are diluted, the only good thing is beer. Service is awful.
